Description

Fragrances of the Drew Barrymore Flower Collection were composed to denote the specific emotions of a multifacted woman at different times of the day. Radiant opens with green, dewy cords of sparkling Italian bergamot and water molecule Calone, supervened by chords of rose, pink peony and magnolia. The base unites crystal musk, pink amber and white wood. The fragrance carries a sense of enthusiasm and it is created with the intention to “lift you up.” The composition promises invigoration and joy throughout the day.

The fragrance will be available starting October 2014 as 15 and 30 ml EDP bottles, accompanied by a roller ball edition for purse or travel. The nose behind this fragrance is Stephen Nilsen.

This scent is interesting, if a bit confusing. It smells nice, but it has a boozy feel to it. It’s floral and sweet, but something about it makes it feel “drunk”. Can that be right? When I wore it to a family event, my aunt literally asked me if I had been drinking in the car…Nope. I am a teacher, so I cannot wear this to work. I haven’t made my mind up about this one and I don’t reach for it often so making up my mind will take a while I think.

This smells like the ocean’s salty waves! So that must be the “calone” note. Clean and bright! Like you just popped out of the ocean. How fun!

OK I’ve been wearing this for a few days and it really lasts! It is a one or two sprays and your done too! The way it develops and gives you a little tap on the shoulder so to speak, letting you know that it’s still there but has blossomed into a new butterfly! It’s clean musk just lifts off of your skin so softly. Mmmmm! It’s a keeeeper!

I wish they hadn’t discontinued the rollerballs of these scents–they were super portable and convenient–also re-fillable if you are determined!I really love Drew as an actress and she seems like a person I would like and relate to–(My family is full of attractive, insane drunks, too!) I liked the Sparkling Garden and Radiant enough to buy them—I find Radiant to be just that–some folks on this thread find it too chemical and not lasting, but the silage is crazy for me and I love the wet, cool, clean green-ness of it Yes, there is rose but not an obvious or cheap one–but a cool, fresh one. I think this is a perfect work scent, as it is clean and non-threatening. It’s is NOT an emotional fragrance, it IS coll and detached and, as an Aquarius, it suits me just fine. Thumbs up!

The calone is the main note when first sprayed but soon its in the background and it turns in to a very pretty rose. This is not a fake rose. There are different kinds of roses and they smell different. Its also not cheap smelling like some say. Maybe it depends on your chemistry but it turns in to a beautiful rose scent with smell of rain behind it. Its sillage and longevity are also pretty amazing. Cherished (white bottle) is my favorite but this one is the second favorite of the line. That’s just because Cherished is more my normal thing, i only go for a floral very now and then but I love rose. This is really a very well made perfume and its dropped to $15, at least in my area. I will def keep buying this one and Cherished.

The Calone in this is up front and center and does not relent. The Rose and Peony mellows it out after about 15 mins…and that’s what stays. Calone, rose and peony-for about 10 hours. It doesn’t develop into anything else on me. This is a very bright, sharp and cold scent-but still pretty and wearable. This reminds of of a woman wearing a sheer floral dress-with an attitude. This is not a naive scent-it’s all business with a feminine flair.
Sillage and longevity is enormous. Commitment for the whole day is required

Smells like a little backyard garden after a rain. I bought this because it’s a floral and the 3 flowers in it are some of my favorites: magnolia rose and peony. They are each very noticeable without any one flower trying to dominate the other. It’s a gorgeous green floral scent and smells a bit aquatic, clean, fresh, and old fashioned. It’s like a fresh floral to wear anywhere. It’s more on the casual side than formal/elegant. It’s very pretty. The perfumes in the Drew Barrymore fragrance are very mature and very sophisticated compared to other celebrity scents out there. Drew is probably selling these to a demographic who were already teens or young adults when she was making her 1990’s movies. This perfume to me evokes her character Danielle in EVER AFTER A CINDERELLA STORY. This is a gorgeous but simple and wearable rose-magnolia scent, a green garden aroma. Beautiful.

Room spray material (perfect ending to cleaning the bathroom). An aquatic, calone, artificial ros that stands out among my collection of beachy clean scents. Suits the powder room better than my skin (but I’m picky).
Edit: Also great scent to wear to the gym when you want to smell clean.

There is nothing more sickening to me than the fake smell of rose. Horrible smelling. Bought as a small roller ball and I’m glad I paid next to nothing for it bcos it is going in the garbage.

I love it. It’s just what I have been looking for a sharp floral that is not sweet.

I purchased all three gift sets, and I have to say that radiant is my fav out of the three,I dont think its too flowery its just enough to make you feel pretty. My 16 year old cant stand flowery perfume and she likes this one!It lasts a real long time too.My second would be sultry that one is different from any scent i have,I wear that one when im feeling a little naughty!!!

I didn’t know what this was when I bought it. It was in a case with no info. It smelled nice and looked pretty. I was in a hurry so I bought it to look it up here. Lucky me!
Radiant starts out as a nice blend of roses and watermelon. Perfect for hot days. But the dry down on me changes seasons 180 degrees. It becomes a cold rose. If you have ever walked into a home at Christmas time and seen Winter roses near the Christmas tree you get the idea. They are almost surreal. They don’t belong. But they do! They are classy and unexpected among the traditional greenery.
Radiant is a very cold, aquatic rose with plenty of green to it. I normally don’t like aquatic, but this is different. A rose out of place in Winter but still a rose and always beautiful. This will be fun to wear in the snow. I’m guessing that it will mesh perfectly with all the wood fire smokiness and spice smells the season will throw at me. I can’t wait to see.
Sillage is moderate and longevity on me is 6+ hours which is very good. Not a bad buy at all.

I went to test this at the discount store, since I have been curious about Drew B. & her FLOWER Cosmetics line for some time now. I promptly found that the tester bottle was glued down. I can’t imagine anyone being tacky enough to steal tester bottles of perfume, but I guess that possibility worried someone.
I thought the nozzle was directed towards my skin, but apparently, it was flipped about. My poor husbands shoulder was in the direct line of fire, so he and his nice dress shirt took a hosing.
There was not much he could do about smelling Radiant(ly) like a flower for the rest of the afternoon, so I am glad he laughed it off and was a great sport, taking one for the perfume testing team. I did manage to get some on my skin as well.
This is a VERY strong floral, with a chemical smell that comes right out swinging at the beginning, but it fades off in about ten minutes.
I can envision Fran Fine whining about the synthetic “Calone” water molecule note, inadvertently annexing the entire scent~
“The cologne! Oh my goooodnesssss, the cologne!”
I do think this could smell rather amazing, classically french, and even like old money on some people, but it did not work for me. It felt jarring to my nerves to smell for the remainder of the day, yet I kept wanting to get more of that floral scent wafting around.
I think I will blame the Magnolia for that. Some people picture Southern charm, white chiffon, grace and softness when they smell Magnolia. Not me. Magnolia is my red lipstick of perfume notes. She is the friend that talks a bit too loudly, tends to give people headaches…the one you had to post bail for, yet you still adore her because she is committed, unique and exciting, and doesn’t give a damn about what anyone thinks.
There were many other notes that were coming off as uber sopranos on my skin and his shirt and we could smell this six hours later. Score yet again for another drug store scent with incredible staying power.
If you like the smell of:
    *Surf Laundry Detergent
    *Bounce Outdoor Fresh Dryer Sheets
    *Avon’s Rare Pearls, or
    *Chloe EDT Chloe
and you want a strong smelling, long lasting floral alternative with a similar vibe, I would highly recommend this.
As for me, I guess I would rather just enjoy this on someone else or their shirt. 🙂
P.S. Nice bottle with a sweet, befitting cap.

This smells exactly like Avon Haiku Kyoto Flower. I Have the lotion of this (and a mini perfume) and pair the lotion wih Haiku Kyoto all the time and cant tell the difference.

I love Drew, so cute, personality to boot! I have tried all these, and have had the chance to purchase all at a huge discount after Christmas. I do not own a single one. These would be good for a very young girl (NOT that anyone couldn’t wear them!). They are polite, proper, and as light as the color OF them. I never noticed the smell of any of them after leaving the store. They are all nice little scents. If you like them, that’s fine, if you don’t, that’s fine too.

This smell like a sweeter version of Chloe. I like it very much. It is a rose based scent but it is not that stale dusting powder rose or funeral parlor rosewater.
It is very clean and you can easily wear it to work.

This smells like a flower garden next to a beach on a warm day, or salt spray on roses. Calone is the star of the show. A decent budget fragrance perfect for layering.
This is also one of the rare rose-based fragrance that does not induce a sinus screaming headache in me. I recently had to give away a few of my rose-based perfumes due to this.

So I finally nabbed a box set on super after Christmas clearance at Walmart of this and am laughing maniacally about it. Finally my trio is complete! Ahem…
For the actual perfume, I must say I’m a bit underwhelmed. It smells very much like an Escada perfume I have. Mostly fresh cut grass, citrus and water. So light I literally have to press my nose against my wrist to smell it. It will be nice for work, but it definitely needs something with more… Umph to back it up. Maybe something with a spicy fruit note… I’ll have to play with it. Definitely one to layer. Almost no staying power.
Sigh. I really wanted to love this, but it has no real heart. It needed something endearing to it. Maybe a pear note or something. It’s too calm to feel sporty but too green to feel like a floral. It doesn’t have enough personality to it, kind of like a dryer sheet.

Very chemical, high-pitched tart sweet aquatic.

The chemical note is very interesting in Radiant… Interesting, but not necessarily bad.. That chemical accord (the Calone?) is extremely deliberate, which is very different from smelling cheap, if that makes sense. Because rose notes project like crazy on my skin I get mostly rose with that chemical overtone. Radiant is a decent scent, especially if you’re a fan of rose, but I could see that chemical accord being a make-or-break deal.

This is exactly the sort of fresh floral that smells of soured chemicals to me. My skin is partly to blame, I realize. This kind of abstract floral comes across as fake and shrill on me, the sort of fragrance experience that kept me from wearing perfume for years. Now, of course, I realize that I don’t get on well with the chemical ‘calone’, and it explains a lot!
I’m happy to know that others feel differently about this release, and hope they enjoy getting/gifting it for Christmas. But if you follow my advice, you’ll only blind buy Cherish. Of Drew’s three releases, Cherish is easily the most appealing. The good thing is that you can layer any of them with each other! GREAT, practical concept.
Rating – Two stars, three if it works for you.

This is the bad one of the trio. Smells extremely chemical, or like bug spray on it’s own. However, layered with “Cherished”, it adds a nice dimension to it, and they work well together. I got the trio in a set, so it’s no problem. And I love the little coloured glass flower bottles, beautiful!
As for the person who mentioned they hate celebrity fragrances, what is the difference whether it’s a designer or celebrity name on the bottle? They’re all made by the same people.

Rollerballs at Walmart for $10 each, thought I’d test them out and see how they rated.
Radiant is a pretty fresh rose scent, girly and inoffensive.Smells similar to a lot of fragrances out there now, nothing innovative, but pretty nonetheless.
Fairly good longevity too,for such a reasonably priced scent.
Not really my style, did not purchase, but my mom likes it and it would make a nice “just because” gift.

…also, after finishing the bottle, I re-purposed that beautiful rose-metallic cap, into a scarf pin by gluing it onto a pin base. As it’s hollow inside, the pin isn’t as heavy as that big rose shape, implies. It looked very striking on a green knit, neck-snuggler.

A very fresh rose blended with cool, crisp — almost metallic — ozonic notes. The rose is very streamlined and dry, avoids the soapiness sometimes found in simplistic rose blends and I’d say it’s in the mood of the new “Chloe” or Yves Rocher’s “Moment de Bonheur”, if you want an idea of the kind of abstract, stylized rose note I’m talking about.
I liked it very much and found it developed with just enough velvety warmth, that it didn’t produce the usual scent fatigue that clean rose blends tend to do for me. This is a very fresh, professional scent that has crossover potential for work into a nightlife environment. It feels like a pretty neutral, likable scent for many but if you dislike rose notes, particularly modern, fresh ones, “Radiant” probably isn’t for you.

Oh my, got it at Walmart, no testers so I took a chance, it isn’t bad but it smells cheap..I sprayed it and upon coming in the house, my husband said what on earth did you spray on? My 12 year old son thought it smelled pretty bad…
Her makeup is good, but so far not impressed with that perfume ! It is non descriptive really, no notes that jump at me…not even sure I would give it to anyone because the quality isn’t great !?
There are cheap perfumes that smell better than that!!
Hope Walmart takes perfumes back, because this isn’t for me!!

This is a very clean smelling, fresh-floral. I purchased the rollerball, but after wearing it one time, I think I want the perfume spray now!
To my nose, the notes are hard to pinpoint, because they all mingle together quite lovely. One minute you smell the rose and peony, next minute you smell the aquatic/ozone freshness, then a hint of woods…. it has my nose all confused, but in a good way!
Very girly scent, but not in a teeny-bopper kind of way, more like “I’m the sweet girl next door” kind of way. Smells innocent, but yet, confident, happy, and womanly. I would wear this year round, but it screams Spring and Summer.
