Amazing scent. I want to make it my signature scent. But it doesn’t last that long. It represents that old country smell. With wide meadows and you in your cottage with all your dried spices and fresh fruits. Aaaaahhh. To me it smells like something I have never smelled before.

I never hid the appreciation I have for this brand. In fact, I sympathize with the brand because of the UDV for Men, of which I am a fan for years, I wore a lot and it will always deserve a space in my collection. In fact, debunks many perfumes of name, surname and high values, either by the aroma or the projection and longevity.
In 2013, already consolidated in all markets and with strong presence in France and in Germany, the company decided to launch a unique line of 4 new fragrances, called Varens Homme. The bottles were inspired by the fine lines of a bottle of whiskey and, indeed, are very easy to handle and present good ergonomics.
The fragrance has notes of Mandarin and bergamot in the output, cumin and nutmeg in the heart, in addition to a floral blend with violet leaves, and a base of cedarwood, sandalwood and a touch of musk.
The output contains the best part of the scent, in my opinion. Although is not there, the nutmeg is very noticeable at this stage and the aroma is very ephemeral, because the citric accord dominates. Perhaps it would have been better to let the nutmeg in the output!
Then the fragrance develops in a simple way, with something that fight between the hot and the cold, the spicy and the Woody. And the fragrance is very enjoyable and goes into the category of “easy to please”, i.e. serves for various occasions and in different climates.
The big disappointment was the name Intense, that doesn’t match the reality. When we test an Intense version of any fragrance, we just imagine an EDT Intense or an EDP, with powerful and almost uncomfortable projection and, above all, excellent lasting, those that go beyond 10 hours on the skin. And that wasn’t the case!
On my skin, the projection was shy and the lasting was good, but not worthy of being called Intense.
Anyway, I’m still curious to know the other fragrances of this line and I still indicate the test, because it is known that perfume evolution depends on the skin.
