Description

David Beckham presents his new fragrance Urban Homme in early 2013. The fragrance continues the line of David Beckham Homme from 2011.

“Edgy. Modern. Masculine. David Beckham is a man of exceptional style and taste. Now, David’s cool urban look has inspired his new limited edition fragrance for men: Urban Homme by David Beckham. Exuding relaxed elegance, this fougère ambery fruity scent is the perfect expression of contemporary male style.”

David himself sais about the new fragrance, said: “Over the years I have developed my own style, which has inspired the creation of Urban Homme.”

Maurice Roucel is the creator of this fresh and elegant scent. The composition opens with rich blend of zesty mandarin, green apple and thyme. Aromatic lavender, violet leaves and fruity aromas of pineapple lead to smooth and masculine base consisting of intense blend of vibrant amber, cedar and suede.

The fragrance is available as 30 and 50 ml Eau de Toilette.

As a fan of the original Beckham Homme (it’s actually one of my favorite scents) I have to admit to being disappointed by this. No similarity at all to the original, a generic synthetic fruity smell. Not my cup of tea at all.
Thankfully I didn’t pay much for it.
This is the first from the Beckham line that I have to say am not a fan of, on the plus side Beckham’s fragrances are generally very good, they tend to punch above their weight in their price point.

well…i like it…yess fruity…yes ozonic accords..but it dries down to a mildy intense suede..ish..cederish..and ambery..skin scent …id almost describe it as a fahrenheit-mercedes benz intense..gassyness..but only at dry down…but nothing as potent as those per say…but theres alil strngth n intensity to this one..i like it plenty..i give it a 7.8 out of 10…thanks mr beckham it costed me only 9 bucks

After a delicious opening salvo of green apple and watermelon for the first 5-10 minutes, Beckham’s Urban Homme quickly reveals its synthetic pineapple and amber core and devolves quickly into a soft chemical noise of synthetic fruit and plastic amber with traces of modern violet leaf and cedar. The dry-down is a very soft and subtle woods, cheap amber and darker suede note that rescues the wearer from a terrible heart of candy pineapple and amber that dominates the first 3-4 hours of wear. Taken as a whole, this is not the stuff of legends nor is this a hidden gem that deserves mention on yet another Youtube best cheapies top ten list.
Given the budget Roucel must have had to work with, the results aren’t catastrophic and don’t take anything away from his genius and artistic scope. This is a fragrance for teenagers looking for something affordable, serviceable and amicable to the not so discriminating taste of the average 16-25 year-old in their potential dating pool. In that respect, it suits that market fine and offers the candy sweetness mixed with high-pitched synthetic citrus that has become so fashionable over the past decade, personified by popular synthetic creations like Rabanne’s Invictus that have sold well across the globe.
I usually only get 3-4 hours use out of a David Beckham fragrance, this one exceeded every expectation in regards to longevity, lasting easily over 6 hours every-time and even then, often well into 8-10 hours, though it is very soft and subtle after the first two hours.
The scent itself beyond the top is nothing too exciting or noteworthy, but as a Beckham fragrance targeted at Target (US) and Boots (UK) shoppers, it offers the consumer a cheap, synthetic juice that won’t scare away any would-be-suitors. Extremely average, but affordable mediocrity.

To me, DB Urban Homme is one of the men’s best fragrances AT ITS COST. Fruity but not “normally fruity” as other fruity kinds. Sexy and manly. Fresh enough for summer / spring, and warm enough for fall

not a bad fragrance but not worth going out of your way to try this kinda came in under the radar earlier last year with hardly any buzz campaign or advertising wich isnt really a good sign considering anything becks pits his name to is pushed to the max but this kinda just got plomked onto the shelves now nowhere stocks it but liw and behold its actually decent as i said earlier not worth going to the ends of the for but if you stumble upon it pick it up its a nice crisp apple scent with pineapple and spices safe kind of sporty and fresh middle of the road frag overall 6/10

I got so excited when I saw this was finally stocked at the store I buy most of my frags. Spritzed on my arm and got the most horrid pepper smell one could imagine, almost like stale pepper corns. Soon after the pineapple & apple combo set in, and it does not smell good. This is straight up pineapple concentrate from 7/11, and it creates a sort of powdery pineapple & coconut which actually made me nauseous.
I honestly wanted to love this as I’ve adore all my Beckham scents so far, but this is not my cup of tea, coffee or rooibos.

For me, DVBUH is not as good as the original DVBH but then the scents are both quite different from each other despite the similar livery.
This is indeed a straight forward spicy, fruity, aqautic’ish frag but with a sugary-sweet effervescence lingering in the background.
The composition of this fragrance probably leans more toward the under 25’s but as a man in my 30’s I wore this over the summer as both a day and evening scent and got frequent compliments. Best bit was not one person believed what I was wearing.
It projects well for the price and lasts a good few hours only becoming a skin scent at about 4-5 hours. Worth a try if you like spicy sweet scents.

Funny cologne for kids/teens. Breeze of watermelon… Really a candy cologne.

Incredibly harsh and synthetic potion that immediately gave me a headache and is not particularly pleasant, especially when smelt from close to the skin. Made from potent yet low quality industrial-grade ingredients, it eventually settles into a very long lasting sweet ambery base that never lets you forget its synthetic genesis.
I don’t blame Roucel at all as I’m sure he gave it his best shot. I mean, you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

I just tested this and it smells IDENTICAL to Paris Hilton For Men. I am outraged that a fragrance could be copied so directly. It literally smells like a re-bottle of Paris Hilton! Ugh. I own Paris Hilton for men so I am very experienced with it and know exactly what it smells like. I am sniffing it now, still in disbelief. Test these 2 side by side and experience it for yourself! DISAPPOINTED!!

Ah good, let’s see what this one has to offer. I’ve been collecting beckham fragrances, and every one of it has its own character and very decent actually.
