Description

This is a female fragrance introduced in floral composition with dominant spicy accords. It represents a perfume of freedom and sensuousness. The composition opens with notes of red berries, followed by sweet and clear jasmine and white flowers at the heart, ending at the base of saffron and amber. Francis Kurkdjian is the fragrance designer, and the bottle designer is Sylvie de France, who created a curvy U shaped bottle to symbolize the initial of Ungaro. This perfume is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml EDP, along with the matching 150 ml body lotion and 150 ml shower gel. It was launched in 2007.

    Deep, sweet, spicy.
Similar to Eau Sucree 2015 Angel. But without alcoholic notes. Kinnda ambery heavy. Just for my personal taste too much. So i wont wear it. But it is a perfume that you think less of and after trying and testing you think wow what a great surprise.

I love blind buying perfumes (its is such an excitment to not know what kind of juice is in that bottle) and this one was a success. It smells like nothing I’ve ever smelt before, so that’s always exciting! The first spritz is very spicy fruity-berrish but then it settles into lovely sweet jasmine. Projection is amazing and the lasting power is about 5 hours, which is okey. Overall it’s a very fun frag, can’t imagine wearing to the opera, but I would definitely wear it to the picnic or amusment park. Worth every penny!

To start off, I’m sorry that this isn’t a review but I’m trying to find the original formula of this rather desperately, but I didn’t get any replies when I posted this on the forum. Hopefully someone who owns a bottle will read this.
I know that the original has a peachy-coloured liquid and a completely different version has a purple one. I also know that many online retailers use pictures of both versions interchangeably, therefore, most of the time you simply don’t know which one you’re really buying. So the main question is: is there any other info on how to tell them apart? Does anyone have the EAN codes, photos of the boxes they come in, ANYTHING other than the colour of the juice that I could ask sellers about before buying? Or maybe someone ordered one not long ago and received the peachy formula (in which case I’d love to know where you bought it from)? Lately I became a little obsessed with acquiring a bottle of this so any tips would be much appreciated!

Reminds me a whole lot like viva la juicy …its fruity and creamy …not bad at all .got as a gift from big sis and would say suits the hot climate Im in and would suggest perfect for day wear .

Let me clear up some confusion. The fruity floral with the purple juice is “Ungaro Love Kiss,” not “Ungaro.” It is a flanker, not a reformulation. It has the same bottle as Ungaro but completely different juice.

A poor girl’s Alien sans vanilla; a fragrance I can do without as much as this one. Bad, bad blind order.
I thought I was getting Emanuel Ungaro – Ungaro (reformulated). Some of that is my fault for not being appropriately informed, not knowing the correct bottle. This is just another yawnfully boring, common fruity floral and I am so disappointed. It’s not horrible, just entirely generic and already done a billion times over. I am so unimpressed I cannot wait to resell or give it away. I feel gloomy. At least I know the one I need to purchase now and hope that will not disappoint as badly as this one. Ugh… 🙁

My dear swap-pal Lily2911 gave me a sample of it.
Once I tested I couldn’t resist until order it online.
Now I can’t wait to wear my every-day-Alien-alike pretty nice Ungaro tresure.
I didn’t knew about new formula so I keep my fingers crossed to be lucky enough to have authentic Mr Kurkdjian’s creation…

I am wearing this little gem today so breautiful sweet from the amber and fruiys and pretty intense too this is also very cheap after a couple of hours it is reminiscent of gaultier classique

The purple juice (newer color and formulation, I gather) is a wholly synthetic mess of aldehydes, purple & red fruits, spice, and “woodsy musk”. I smell perfumes all day, every day, and this is one of the few to incite an immediate headache and wave of nausea. Avoid at all costs.

  11. :

Introduced as a peachy-pink elixir as in the photo above, the formula has changed and the new juice is purple. The box design remains the same so it’s easy to get the wrong one as I did recently.
The original ranks among Francis Kurkdjian’s best. and it does, indeed, resemble the sublime aura of Dune. Like Dune, the original juice has powerful sillage and amazing longevity, anywhere from 8-12 hours on my skin and literally days on clothing. But while Dune can be a bit melancholy Ungaro is unquestionably a happy, even uplifting fragrance.
The peachy-pink juice opens with fresh red berries and a smooth & sunny, honeyed amber. This syrupy blend is followed quickly by the tang of saffron and a carnal/indolic vein of jasmine that together temper the initial sweetness and make this a complex and powdery spiced oriental. Best in cool/cold temps but it blooms on warm skin so it’s also lovely when the temperature rises if applied with a lighter touch.
The reformulated purple juice is nothing more than an ordinary fruity floral with poor longevity which Mr. Kurkdjian, were he to sniff it, would surely disavow.
There’s still quite a bit of the beautiful original juice available on line but go for an unboxed bottle to be sure of the color of the juice. And a hint: when you search on-line don’t look for “Ungaro 2007” because this is the only site that refers to it with the date.

A beautiful scent, but gone within 1 hour, thats bad. Not worth the money. I like the Saffron note in this scent.
En jättefin doft, men borta inom en timme och det är dåligt. Inte värt pengarna. Jag gillar Saffran-noten i denna doften.

A luck-out blind purchase. Has elements from two of my faves, Poison and Alien. I’m tempted to buy Ungaro Love Kiss, if I only knew what it smelled similar to.
Update: This is really a joining of Viva Juicy Couture with Armani Code. It is a fruity fragrance. I finally found Ungaro Love Kiss as well, and found it very young, floral and sharp. It is like new Ralph Lauren Midnight Romance.
Ungaro is not a terribly complex fragrance. It just perks my mood and has a grain of similarity to my beloved vintage Estée Lauder Beautiful.
P.S. My Ungaro 2007 (I assume) fluid is purple. My Ungaro Kiss us a pale pink violet.

Think Amarige (I love Amarige) but smoother and without the shouty green sharpness. There’s non-heady florals, not overly sweet or sharp berries to balance out the florals and the warmth of amber. It’s intriguing, feminine and completely inoffensive in a way that it’s not a choker. I tend to feel nauseous and get a headache if a perfume is even just slightly wrong for me (especially if there’s woody notes in it) but this can be worn all day, every day as there’s nothing in it that smells even a tiny bit synthetic. Brilliant all-rounder, it’s hard to imagine a scenario that would be inappropriate to wear this lovely perfume.

Found a 3oz bottle at TJMaxx on clearance for $12!! Total blind buy. Smells very soft and sweet but not in your face. Very dekucate and subdued. I smell berries almost like cherry at first spray but then it just softens nicely. If anyone is looking I can probably get another new bottle for trade if interested.

Just bought this at Marshall’s….I’ love it. It’s not my favorite fragrance but I got compliments as soon as I put on. It reminds me of just cavalli

This is pretty heavy on me. It’s very floral and warm. When I first got it I made the mistake of trying it before the gym. Usually scents don’t last on me so I thought it wouldn’t last but this one sure does. As I was working out on the bike it really projected, I hope I didn’t offend the others next to me. It does smell nice. I would recommend it if you like white florals.

Nice scent for everyday use…. It a great get of the shower perfume and it not expensive. It has a light sweet smell but not like a fruity perfume. I smelled it on a co-worker and she said she been wearing it for several years and she buys it online. I really enjoy the scent on her so I purchased a bottle since I like the smell. Some people at work keep thinking it Nicky Minage, which it does have some notes that are close but it not as sweet as Nicky perfume. It a nice everyday perfume to run on the town, nothing to get upset about and it cost like $16-30 online.

Fantastic, really high quality fragrance. Despite the small number of notes listed above, it does smell fidgety and complex, both sweet and dense and fresh and aereal at the same time. I may find it a bit too sweet, but I love the scent of amber, sweet and a bit cloying the way it is. Ungaro smells to me very eighties and nineties, due to the jasmine and amber sweet density. It is quite strong and staying power is relatively good. The bottle is quite odd and not very easy to spray, but I find it very beautiful, in part due to the colour reflexes and so do I find the peach colour of the scent. In my opinion you cannot go wrong with Francis Kurkdjian. Really great.

This to me is a like a heavier, creamier version of Britney Spears Radiance.

  21. :

I had to give it to my DD , sadly on me it was cloyingly sweet and spicy and just unbathed scent. but on my 23 y/o doughter it was a blooming floral, so i guess it’s a chemistry thing.
i have to mention the bottle is very bulky and uncomfortable to hold.

  22. :

Another good one! Only moderate iasting power or strength but what a nice dry down with the amber and saffron Interesting fun bottle. Definitely a keeper

  23. :

    3 out of 5

To me this opens with a burst of sweet berries, then the flowers just slightly come through and dries down as a fruity sweet slightly ambery scent. On me this stays really close to the skin and I feel the need to keep applying this over and over again througout the day since it doesn’t last long on me at all. I like the scent though, just wished it had better sillage and longevity on me 🙁

  24. :

    5 out of 5

Just like to say yeah sure blind buying can be fun but in my opinion its only recommended when done on a scent that is either cheap or something that should be expensive and is at avery good price otherwise it can be very dissapointing spendinding £10 and not liking something not too bad but dropping £80 blindly and hating the product can feel like being bitten on the ass by a rather angry bob cat. Also at least look at the top of the reviews to see what the scent is simalar to as the notes can be similar but mix differently and smell nothing like a scent with similar notes. Hope this saves some of you some cash as they say it don’t grow on trees.

At first just feel jasmine and white flowers, maybe a bit of berries. An hour later the berries is hard, sweet berries and amber that are nowhere near remind white floral, and last for hours and hours.
No question is a very elegant scent, and very long, around 10-12h on my skin.
This perfume reminds me Gabriela Sabatini, but much more refined, so if you like Gabriela Sabatini you will like this one.

  26. :

    5 out of 5

My sentiments exactly as Cheryl stated. No amber, nothing but a strong berry scent. This scent is not sophisticated nor classy. Just a strong berry scent. What a disappointment. I will never purchase another perfume on the comments of others. They were totally off the mark with this one. I would expect so much more from this designer. This smells very cheap.

  27. :

Berries are the first thing I smell when I spray this on, but it doesn’t become fruity or candy-like (thank God for the latter!) The mellowed berries stay in the bouquet and are very quickly accompanied by the white flowers (to my nose it’s a generous, yet just right amount of white florals.) Then amber -and a peppery spicy something- rounds it off in the dry down. The silage depends on how many sprays you use. A spray or two between your skin and shirt will give great silage. Longevity is also great: 5-8 hours. It doesn’t smell oriental to me, rather a bit floriental with an amazing red berry note for those who normally wouldn’t like berries.
This is a very happy, sexy scent. It shouts “smell me! I am fun.” Great as a summer day scent and an informal evening scent. Or whenever you like, because it smells so darn yummy!

I’ll never learn – I keep blind buying based on reviews and my expectations are crushed when I finally smell the fragrance – this is no exception.
Where’s the warm spicy note? Where’s the sultry amber? Animalic? Maybe muskrat. Fruity? Maybe dried prunes. This perfume stinks – literally. Now I have to hide another yucky blind buy from my husband – this goes right next to my newly acquired Victoria Secret Mood fig (which was figless and put me in a bad mood).
Somebody please recommend a winner before I go broke!

Ungaro 2007 is more floral oriental than oriental spicy. Amber and big white floral bouquet combination makes sweet,bubble-gum like fragrance. This is also happy and extroverted so suitable for going out.

Just bought my bottle of Ungaro & mini body lotion today. I bought this after testing it a few weeks ago and then found a set of it on clearance at Marshall’s for twenty bucks! This smells like a blazing 80’s silage bomb when sniffed from the bottle, but on my skin it turned all creamy, raspberry and had a sultry amber dry down. It was one of those scents that works well with certain chemistry’s and you just know when you have found something that works…not just because you love it, but also because of the myriad of compliments that don’t stop coming! I like that it is different than a lot of the fruity juices of the day. It is reminiscent to my nose of Lancome’s Magnifique which I am guessing is coming from the prominent Saffron accord.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review! xo

I find it extremely similar to F by Rerragamo (which I’m about to throw away) but without that sickly sweet plasticky bubble gumish note in the drydown. As opposed to F, Ungaro stays refined, transparent and clear overtime.
I am so glad I found a wearable substitute!
Ungaro is a very fun and flirty fragrance, great to wear on a daily basis all year around, because it is sweet but at the same time airy, not dense. Im not sure about longevity as yet, but the sillage is outstanding!
Can’t smell any similarities with Viva la Juicy whatsoever.

  33. :

ooeh i just tried it, its indeed similair like viva la juicy, only better 😛 i got to have it!

  34. :

I love this fragrance. I do not find this a sexy oriental or, for that matter, an oriental at all. I find this a creamy fun floral fruity gourmand. The sillage and longevity are both good. The red berries, vanilla, and amber together smell good enough to eat. I don’t usually like gourmands…but this strikes me as one and I love it! This is one of my favorite blind buys.
Another wonderful thing about this scent is that I do not have to wait to love this fragrance. It is good from the first spray to the last hint. This scent also is evidence that it does not take many ingredients to make a fine fragrance. This is simple and wonderful.
From my limited experience, the House of Emanuel Ungaro does not disappoint and they are most reasonable. I would make this one day and their divine Diva night. Ungaro does not have the sillage or longevity of Diva. It is average in both. I really do not see either of these as “seasonal”.
At the expense of being redundant, no matter what the category, oriental spicy, gourmand, or fruity floral, I LOVE THIS SCENT!
P.S. I tried something I rarely try. I mixed this with Casmir and the two are heavenly together. I apologize for toying with these creations but think I made a great juice!!! I made a true Oriental Vanilla of the best kind.

Ungaro 2007 is a daring, modern fruity-white floral.
It definitely won’t leave you indifferent.
Sweet, seductive white flowers (mostly jasmine) + fruity accord – I personally detect something close to pineapple.
Vanillic amber in the drydown is delicious…
    Simple but so appealing!
Saffron gives it a sensation of dust and a bit of rubbery feeling, which I’m not sure of liking.
Still on the fence with this one.

Blind buy which I regret. Too floral, too sweet. Reminds me of Calvin Klein Eternity moment.Nothing oriental on me, sorry. Decent sillage, but not my cup pf tea.I’ll give it another try in hot summer, maybe….who knows?

The Perfume is one of my favorites! I have sampled a Fragonard a few years ago with the same sweetness/spicy, original small but I don’t remember which one it was. Any clue?

  38. :

Bought this based on reviews. Trust me, this is a really, really appealing, vibrant, summer heat filled fume. I know it seems quirky of me, but I love these full blooded, opulent ones in the heat. In Australia, summer is filled with smell, and flowers, and heat; love it. You know, just a bit of sweat trickling, alive, alive, alive, wearing little and the clothes sticking. Surrounded by heat, and feeling and smelling everything. And it’s just that vibe this perfume captures for me….
To my nose, none of this is sickly, just abundant and sensual. Goes on strong (which I love…why wear perfume if it doesn’t smell??????), stays strong, and last long with a gentle sweetness. On me, that is mainly jasmine, tinged with amber. Overnight, is lost, but not on my clothes…on them, it just offers little sweet joys for days.
I’m wearing it by day, because to me it is the joy of that day heat. For night, I like something with a bit of smoke and depth, but it might work for party time…..

Like Mmizy, I’m not a big fan of this perfume. I bought it blind over the internet and was expecting it to smell different to how it does actually smell!
It’s quite a “dense” perfume, definitely not light or fresh, and is quite spicy and strong at first. When I first tried it I really found it almost repellent and couldn’t wait to wash it off, but the second time I tried it I thought it smelled a lot better and I actually found it to be relatively nice, although still not the kind of perfume I’m drawn to. Although it’s quite strong, and a bit overpowering, at first it softens and mellows after it’s been on the skin awhile.
For me, this is one of those perfumes where it’s very hard to make out what any individual notes are, although I smell spices and maybe the amber is what gives this perfume it’s warmth and good sillage. On me, it almost smells slightly chocolatey, although I don’t see chocolate mentioned as one of the notes here, and also I think I smell violet which, again, is not listed in the perfume notes here!
Overall, this is quite a nice perfume but just not right for me. It has very good staying power and lasts all day. I think it could be worn for night or day, although personally I think it’d be a little heavy for office wear and might annoy some people! It’d be sexy for night though because of its warmth and spiciness!

this smells exactly like F by Ferragamo Salvatore Ferragamo, but stronger, better sillage. looking by the notes it’s obviousely very similar and both are from the genious nose Francis Kurkdjian. i like better the bottle of F by Ferragamo, but the juice i like better from this one ! stunning detail: both bottles are designed by the same person, Sylvie de France.
this two fumes are sharing 3 points in common 🙂
this one for me it is definitively a winner. love it!!! staying power and sillage amazing ! hope this will never be discontinued. really stunning artwork!

I ADORE this perfume sooooo much!! For you that do not know this one, it is like Viva la Juicy only twice the strength! So if you like Viva and wouldn’t mind it to be a BIT stronger, you will love this perfume!

Since I am not a fan of florals, I was surprised when I bought this blind, my addiction again, buying blind, going on reviews, when will I learn???
This is very feminine and actually quite ok. Just let the first 4 minutes die down and then it is true fume.
Womanly and rather seductive, a really exquisite fume.
Oriental and spicy I do not consider it, more flowery and embalmingly mellow….x

I am in love!!!! this is so sexy 😉 it is spicy , sweet (not too much) i get the berries and amber very soon when i spray it, and this stays for several hours, the drydown isn`t really diferent wich i like since i usually buy a perfume because i liked the first notes and then it gets totally different in some hours! well i believe it is really sexy and i would buy another bottle 🙂

Unbelievably well-done!!! Sexy, playful and classy all at the same time, the elements are all so well blended u can hardly make them out which I think is a plus, not one bit synthetic smelling… Lasts well past last call on a night out and has excellent projection… The only issue I had w/ this one was the size available and the cost, the 1 oz was $52 and the 1.7 was $68 and these were the only sizes available. I opted for the 1.7 but If I could have gotten a 3.4 for $80 or $90 it would have been a much better deal…Needless 2 say I killed the 1.7 in a matter of 6 months and now I cant seem 2 find it anywhere:(

i had tester of ungaro when it was first released in 90’s , when i was a child.. so i cant keep myself thinking of memories.. now i’m 27 , having 3.4 oz bottle and absolutely love it! it’s a spicy, rich, warm and sensous perfume which makes me feel better. also i find it very smillar to alien and a little bit to poeme.. also unlike other ungaro perfumes, it lasts very long, alluring all day long.. i recommend it to everyone who is looking for a different scent.

I don’t like this one. With my chemistry it is all muddled and I can’t make out the notes. Its warm but all I get is the saffron I believe. I feel like I just opened up a jar of nutmeg and put my nose in it. I put it on my hand and i felt like I needed a shower. Not for me thank goodness I only got a mini.

I am surprised by this fragrance, so passionate, more floral-oriental to me, reminded me of Edt Alien and even a bit on Boss Intense by Hugo Boss. Smells like blueberries nectar with sweet and sour cherries, so sweet as the finest dessert, not a cheap ordinary cookie. And definitely not just another cute girl’s fragrance, I like.
Very feminine and a little spicy, such as Spellbound by Estee, just a perfect match.

I just bought it today, as I never seen it on shelfs before. It smells sweet, then transfer to bitter sweet, then bouncing somehwat smokey, and very ususual smell, compare to all those mass-market perfume, that smells sweet , but annoying.I sprayed just a bit in the afternoon, and now it sill smells softly, after settled for the time. This perfume would be good for a disco club or evening walk.Good!

Unbelievably sexy, spicy perfume. I figured this would be a typical light floral like most new perfumes are, but Ungaro didn’t follow the trend (thankfully). This release is no doubt a spicy oriental. The first spray is strong with amber and saffron, and then you can smell the jasmine. I didn’t try this on my skin yet, but I am going to go back and wear it, possibly buy it. When I first tried this, I also tried Dune for the first time. There’s a bit of similarity between Ungaro and Dune.
