First, there seems to be an issue with the spray caps on these bottles. They fall off easily, but they go right back on. However, then you spray again and it can just come flying off. The scent is quite nice and a kind of woody iris quality lasts well, though with no more than moderate projection beyond the top notes. Unlike other scents of this type, I don’t find the citrus to be irritating, there’s no sharp “white” musk, it’s not too floral, etc. While I’m not a fan of these types of scents in general, this one is certainly pleasant, and I have nothing even slightly negative to say about it, other than that the projection might disappoint some people.

Tuscan Soul Cologne & Body Cream
Purchased At New York City’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel
    A pleasant citrus based fragrance
Tuscan Soul opens with a distinctly familiar scent: citrus sinensis – the orange tree and orange blossom. This is that greenish leafy flower with white blossoms that grow around orange fruit. The botanist in me loves to explore fragrances that are purely herbal, aromatic, and floral, despite the general association with flowers and women’s fragrance. For me a scent can transcend gender when it’s a scent that is unisex by definition.
Citrus notes in fragrance are easily worn by both men and women and have been for thousands of years. None more unisex than citrus and orange blossom. Inhaling the initial spritz of this scent transported me to the Mediterranean coast of Italy, which is why they aptly named this frag Tuscan Soul. It’s highly evocative of the orange trees that grow in Tuscany and the South of Italy – Naples, Capri, Sicily, not to mention the countless islands of the Mediterranean Sea like Ibiza, Corsica, and the Greek Islands.
The opening is modeled after orange flower water, an alternative to rose water. This is a cool citrus scented water which was one of the earliest known fragrances worn by monks, kings and queens of the Middle Ages. The freshness of the citrus is an invitingly sweet summer time scent. Neroli also comes to mind as does orange flower. It’s a green, herbal and hesperidic aroma. Petit grain follows the opening and it quickly turns into a sharp bergamot orange. If you like these major citric scents such as Maurer & Wirtz 4711 Serge Lutens Fleurs D’Oranger and Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino, this is in the same category of fragrance. A delicious and zesty cool sweet citrus. For whatever reason it comes off as much colder like a splash of water in the shower. As such it makes me feel as if this is best worn right after your shower as a cool after bath after shower splash.
The heart is floral with white flowers that normally accompany top notes of citrus; in this case, a magnolia blossom. There’s also quite a bit of iris but because of the strong petit grain and citrus notes the iris is subdued and not allowed to turn overtly feminine nor powdery. This is a cool iris. Everything becomes cool because of the orange flower water. The magnolia is the least detectable scent, way in the background, but it is there, like a little white flower that one can see off the corner of one’s eye, or smell. Reminds me of a shampoo at one point.
The dry down is somewhat salty with a fig, maintaining a green theme. There might be a bit of wood in it but it’s not a major note and it’s not being listed as a note in the base. It’s mostly composed of the citrus and the white flower. The dry down is quite simple and the whole thing is linear and doesn’t last too long. Definitely an eau de toilette and meant to be worn after your shower or bath. I keep this frag in the bathroom behind the mirror and put it on sometimes after a shower to mix it up with Davidoff Cool Water and other after shower fragrances.
The set I bought at the Waldorf came with body cream in white little bottles with an orange stopper. This body cream is applied to your skin during a shower and it smells exactly like the fragrance. When you spritz on the cologne it matches up with the cream and the scent is enhanced and projects a little more, but does not last any longer than 1 or 2 hours, even less than that. This is the downside to a very fine fragrance. I receive many compliments on it from both guys and girls. This is a safe office friendly scent to wear to work, a casual day to day scent, clean, fresh, soapy, unisex, and not at all complex. It reminds me of my signature scent Philosophy, but it’s far more floral and watery and has a fig that one can almost taste, somewhat in the gourmand sense but not very fruity.
Not bad for my first Salvatore Ferragamo.
    Thank You Sal

Tuscan Soul is not a duplicate to anything I’ve ever worn, but it has a similar feel, if not aroma, to CKone.
It opens with a strong, almost overwhelming bitter citrus blast, but softens out in minutes to a medium citrus floral with woody undertones.
Though it’s unisex, it comes across as slightly more masculine on my skin, which suits me fine!
Fifteen minutes after I applied it, my SIL had to get up close to smell it, but I’ve been wearing it for about 5 hours now and it’s still strong amd fresh to my nose.
I have a tendency to go for citrus scents, and I’m so glad I found Tuscan Soul. I’ll be wearing it often.

Just imagine being in Tuscany in the summer surrounded by the scent of orange groves, citrus, and fig trees. A beautiful citrus, floral, and spicy composition that is sophisticated and fresh. This is my go to summer fragrance!

I don’t understand why almost 10 years ago Ferragamo decided to relaunch CKone, this smell like an imitation of the mentioned success like Gieffeffe by Ferre or Solo by Soprani.
And tuscany has not this soul, that would be more rich and woody and deep and warm.
This fragrance smell like an Island at least. Ibiza Soul.

Hello y’all time for another fragrance review. Today I am wearing Tuscan Soul by Salvatore Ferragamo. This is a lovely fresh citrus floral with a fig tree. It’s not very complex, nor as long lasting as I like my fragrances but for the summer time, it’s a refreshing and delicious tonic. It seems to have something in common with some fragrances I’ve been smelling around on people lately, namely one called Versace Man Eau Fraiche and definitely resembles Calvin Klein’s CK One.
As such this scent is unisex and can be appreciated and enjoyed by both men and women. The bottle is quite lovely. It is in the back of my bathroom mirror and I spritz it on to wear to morning commutes to the bank, to run errands, or to go to lunch in the warm South Carolina noon time sun. Oh, and by the way, there is a really good matching body lotion!
The first spritz of Tuscan Soul is citrus scents of petit grain and orange blossom. There is a fresh lemon scent as well. It’s not very unique as I’ve smelled this kind of citric opening in fragrances before but it is fresh and sometimes quite cold, a blast of icy citrus. There is a medicinal quality to it. The petit grain is most noticeable but I love how it smells.
A bergamot orange is also present and it embraces the orange blossom. It has a day wear vibe. In fact I only wear it in the day time. This scent can be worn with casual clothing. I wear it with T shirt, dress shirts, blouses and jeans or pants or pant suits in the day time. Definitely mature and like I said unisex. Men who enjoy citrus based colognes will love this stuff.
The florals are minimal. I smell a white floral aroma of magnolia, creamy, and very much the kind of flower I enjoy in fragrances. I’m Southern and magnolia blossoms are well known here and a flower that is almost our official flower in all the Southern United States. The magnolia here is not too heavy and never takes over. She is a rather shy white flower but she’s there, coming off as an elegant and silently graceful lady.
There is also an iris which never turns powdery. Instead it’s starchy, inky, like the iris in Samsara by Guerlain, but not as heavy as that iris. There is a dry down of fig. The fig is quite salty and sweet, almost like caviar or sand. At times there is a dry down similar to that of Olympea by Paco Rabanne. So if you like that you should like this one. It’s also a more pleasant and floral Womanity by Thierry Mugler.
    A fresh and intoxicating aroma.

What I get from it is mostly pettigrain, orange blossom and bergamot = a perfect summer blend!:D It’s slightly bitter but it’s great as too much sweetness may be tiring in hot weather – and that’s the weather at which I’d love to wear it. The perfume is like a summer wind, nothing loud or characteristic – pleasant, safe, elegant.

Fresh, clean, unisex fragrance. It’s not going to make a statement. It’s simple but very nice. I smell bergamot orange a delicious fresh citrus, an iris, some fig and a magnolia flower. It’s not too sweet but it does throw out some good projection. The fig is dominant and smells like a caviar. I have the matching body lotion and when applied with the fragrance you get a really wonderful aroma. This is great for hot summer months. It’s something to wear to the beach. Very nice.

Fragrance Review For Tuscan Soul Salvatore Ferragamo
    Top Notes Bergamot Petitgrain
    Middle Notes Orange Blossom Magnolia
    Base Notes Iris Fig
This is a beautiful, soft, unisex fragrance of a caressing breeze in Tuscany Italy, as you walk through a grove of fig trees and orange trees with a verdant field of flowers are in the background. This is a green colored scent, and while I did not find it too masculine, I can see how it’s unisex. The citrus notes and everything in this fragrance that comes back to citrusy smells, gives it the man’s aftershave effect. It’s lemony. It’s fresh, and refreshing, and very much for citrus lovers. The bergamot is very obvious at the first spritz. Then the petitgrain with it’s orange scent along with the orange blossom. Citrus citrus citrus. But you don’t drown in this orange juice. It’s soft and easy to wear. Before long the fig scent, down in the base, wafts into the air. Delicious sweet fig. It’s slightly salty, aromatic, fleshy and woodsy. But I would not call this a wood scent in the least. It’s totally citrus and fig. It does soften and dry down to a floral fragrance. I could pick up on the flowery smell of magnolia and iris. The magnolia is clearly there and the iris seems to be sneaking up into the base with the spicy/salty/sweet/aromatic scent of fig tree. This is really quite nice. It’s perfect for spring and summer, it’s a fragrance to wear to the beach or to go sailing. It’s even a tad aquatic. If you like citrus based scents with a floral touch this is for you.

Scored a 75 ml bottle at a reduced price, but when I got the cellophane of it at home, discovered the tiny spray top missing. I tried every bottle of perfume in my wardrobe, but the only one that comes close to fitting wastes some each time I spray ‘cos it’s a wobbly fit. It’s such a lovely scent, don’t like to waste it. But now I think maybe it’s a splash bottle….anyway, subsequently eased out the top neckpiece and decanted into a small travel sized spray container. It pops easily into my handbag and I store the large bottle in the fridge. Thank. Goodness now I can enjoy it. It’s wonderful!

After reading the comments and knowing the composition I decided to try it. I do like S. Ferragamo perfumes. Notes sounded good to me as well. But unfortunately this perfume does not work together with my skin. It is bit to sharp after first spraying, which would not really be a problem. But after 10 minutes it turns into something very unpleasant and sour on the skin and I just can’t stand it.
I have to say, I like how it smells in a bottle, but not on me… 🙁
So if there’s someone who like this scent and would not mind swapping it for some other, I am open to offers 🙂

this may be defined as a unisex scent, since some women can indeed pull it off, but it is mostly masculine, imo. Fresh, cold, woody (I detect pine) and light. Flower component is very, very discreet which is why I would always rather smell this on a man, rather than a woman.
That said, I will describe this as a very casual, modern, clean summer scent for a young man. Safe blind buy too.

I love the citrus in this. The opening is sharp and strong av very invigorating. The big problem is though, it lasts about 10 minutes and then it turnes into a skin scent. For about another 10 minutes… And then it’s gone. Wish I could make it last longer.

Hmm, I’m loving this so much that I’ve actually just gone and ordered another 2 backup bottles of it for myself … that makes about 4 backup bottles of it now, if I remember right!! It’s definitely very unisex and smells really nice on my skin, and wafting around me softly when I move around, it lasts for hours, is great for warmer weather when you want to feel clean and fresh all day (but works well in cooler weather too!) and it smells expensive yet the bottles I’ve discovered on a UK website are ridiculously cheap for the quality of the scent – thank god!! It’s worth triple or more of what the website is charging for it, in my opinion! LOVE it ! !

This is an incredible classy unisex perfume. although for me it borders more on the manly side, I love the citrus and fresh smell of this perfume especially in the hot summer day’s. My wife absolutely loves this scent on me as she compliments me every time I wear it.

I just blind bought two bottles of Tuscan Soul after seeing them on a perfume website here in the UK being sold very cheaply compared to what they cost on other sites and, apparently, in Harrods where they’re being sold at over £100 a bottle (over $200)! My bottles were less than a fifth of that price each!
The comparison on here to Acqua di Parma Colonia really made me sit up and take notice of this perfume as I LOVE that scent, and seeing that I could get Tuscan Soul for a fraction of the price of ADPC I just couldn’t resist.
My two bottles arrived yesterday and I was so relieved that Tuscan Soul has lived up to my hopes for it! It is a lovely fresh, airy, zingy, colgne-like scent that is ideal to wear in warmer weather and yes, it definitely is unisex so could easily be worn by men or women. Nobody here seems to have mentioned that it smells expensive and classy, but it does to me anyway – I could imagine well-heeled spectators at Wimbledon on a warm, sunny day watching a Federer -v- Nadal match on Centre Court while sipping their champagne and nibbling succulent strawberries wearing this! To me it REEKS of class and elegance.
The only downside would be the relatively poor longevity, as others have mentioned. However, that’s ONLY when I put my wrist up to my nose after 3 hours or so when I can barely smell it. When I’m moving around though I get little whiffs of it frequently many hours later even when I can’t smell it on my skin anymore, which is baffling but I’m not complaining!! Also, there must be a little of the scent around the neck of my bottle because whenever I come into my bedroom now I can smell the lightness and freshness of the Tuscan Soul greeting me, which is a nice surprise! My room smells SO nice!!
I can definitely recommend this and I might even get a third bottle as a back-up back-up!!!
    UPDATE:
This has become one of my ‘go to’ fragrances, along with Oxygene, which I also love because it smells clean and fresh. Unlike Oxygene though, which is creamier smelling, Tuscan Soul smells very clear and cologne-like, in the vein of Eau de Rochas and 4711, and it’s PERFECT for wearing on a hot, steamy day when you want to feel energized, cool and refreshed. Perfect for the very hot days we’ve been having recently here in the UK! I love it. So much so that I have ordered another couple of bottles of it so now I have the one I’m using at the moment and three spare bottles – I’m a VERY happy woman ! !

    My latest blind buy.
Very crisp, sharp, clean fragrance. Perfect for hot summer days. A lot of bergamot and just a little bit of iris. To my surprise I like it a lot and I feel great wearing it.

Very fresh and intoxicant. Very intensive woody and fresh notes. It’s soapy and sweet. I recommend it for the summer. It’s quite male fragrance. Perfect for blind buy!

I totally love the opening, it smells like fresh orange. Unfortunately, I don’t like the dry down – it’s kind of bitter. So I use it as a homespray and it’s the best home spray I’ve ever had.

My friend who is an air hostess brought me 3 miniatures of these, because they give them to their passengers. Anyway, I count it as an I have it and really tried perfume. The thing with this it is that at my skin it strongly reminds me of CK One. Also it is too citrusy for my taste and also kind of more masculine scent for my taste. I believe that if someone likes CK One, citrus and unisex scents s/he will like this one. Not something special I believe. I don’t even know if I like it or dislike it, because I don’t like it on me wearing it but if a guy was wearing it I would be all for it.
Its silage is moderate but it has a good lasting power. it lasts almost 12 hours at my skin.

  21. :

    4 out of 5

I’ve tried this perfume on a sample vial.
It has a light citrus breath, not as sharp as a lemon for instance but something softer. To me it is similar to Versace Versense in that exact citrus note.
Here the pyramid says it is bergamot, I’ve never smelled the fruit live.
Longevity is not long or moderate on me.

  22. :

    3 out of 5

I love it, love it, love it. Oh gosh do I love it. It’s the epitome of fresh, cheerful citrus with enough kick to stop it from being boring at the beginning and then the citrus melts into a gorgeous mix of florals and fig leaf. I’m smiling like an idiot and I’ve been miserable all day. It actually reminds me of Hermes Un Jardin en Mediterranee – the two scents aren’t similar really but the freshness and imagery they evoke have the same vibe if that makes any sense.
True, it fades quickly, but it makes me so happy that frequent reapplications don’t bother me as much as they normally would. I got this as a mini in a swap, though. I’m undecided as to whether or not I’ll purchase an actual bottle when this is gone – so many perfumes, so little time – but until then I will drown myself in this little bubble of sunshine and pleasure and citrus.

I can only smell something sour. I guarantee you that for me the real Tuscany doesn’t smell like that at all. I only got a few mls of this and won’t be using it anymore. Lasting power is zero. For me it’s like a vinegar. And I don’t want to smell like that-there’s nothing sexy about it.

I’ve the shampoo at home, got as a gift, and it smells lovely. Does anybody know if the smell of perfume is the same as shampoo? I think of blindbuy of this scent:)
EDIT: SO i finally have it and it is gorgeous. It reminds me lil bit Pret a porter by Coty – I would put it in the same category. But Tuscan soul is much much better – I love that bergamot and petigrain in this scent. In the drydown I smell magnolia. It has quite good longevity on my skin.(I sprayed it on 6hrs ago and still can smell it) I feel very lucky wearing it, bud it is rather for spring-summer days, so I will put it back to the shelf to save it.
But the only thing I can´t imagine is my husband wearing it 😀 Imo this is a female scent.

  25. :

I think Tuscan Soul is just lovely. Yes starts off with a bit of a blast (hold ur breath for a minute) so i get the reference to being masculine but it does settle into a very nice delicately sweet citrus on me anyway. Indeed one of the nicer fragrances! A winner!
In comparing to Light Blue, both have a bit of a bitterness to them, this is a tad sweeter, like a sun & honey sweetness.

  26. :

The first fragrance i bought blind with a little disappointment note to myself.
Tuscan Soul is a very bright light fragrance with good longevity indeed smelling magnolia but in my nose this lacks depth and soul…
Unisex in balance and i give this 75% feminine and 25% masculine.
I gave it 4 months with several wearings on wrist n body to adapt and learn this fragrance but im done with my verdict : too feminine, too flowery, too shallow.
Tuscan Soul is the one im never thinking of when im standing in front if my little puff-puff friends in the morning even on bright sunny days…
Not a blind buy thats my warning.
    Im selling it.

I just purchased a massive bottle of this, good thing too because this fragrance is to be applied heavy and often…spray some in your hair it’ll smell fresh out the shower! Tuscan Soul is an uplifter, sharp greens and bright sunshine. nice spicy background, Medium depth that fades to nothing within 2 hrs. no worries as it’s very inexpensive and one of those scents that seem to be all about the opening anyway.. spray leisurely, makes you feel good!

  28. :

    4 out of 5

Really lovely, fresh, faintly spicy, green-bitter-citrus scent with just enough wood to give it some depth. Would be a perfect summer fragrance for me were it not for the poor sillage and longevity – I have to douse myself in it to smell it and it lasts barely an hour. Such a shame; I’d definitely buy another bottle were it not for this.

It is summer in the Southern Hemisphere and the citrus scents are out.
Prada D’Oranger, Eau de Jade, Eau Orlane and Tuscan Soul. From my house I walk two hundred meters to a clifftop stairway which descends to a beach used by dog walkers (mostly) The climb back up is 142 stairs and the thought of a powerhouse perfume is sick-inducing. Bring out the citrines, nothing else will do. I soften the Tuscan with a hint of Jade and don’t mind at all if it’s a bit masculine. The straw hat is feminine, the glasses are Jackie O, the sand is between the toes and the Tuscan Soul evaporates in a warm humid ribbon of air as I climb. Very nice and inexpensive.

This is a great zesty citrus. It’s not sweet at all- slightly astringent (petit grain). … and really refreshing. If you are looking for sugary lemonade- this will bite you in the nose.
I actually think it makes a better winter scent than summer for me– and I would like it on my hubby in the summer.

This is a very refreshing lovely citrus fragrance. When I first sniffed it I immediately got it. Perfect for a hot summer day. It is a pick me up scent. I don’t find it too masculine at all. To me it is more feminine with maybe slightly masculine. I love this. Staying power is just ok, but It may be that I just can’t smell it on myself.

Rich and pungent orangey smell that can be a bit too rich at first then bergamot shows up; making it more masculine and also lighten up the scent a bit. No flower, nor any other fruits here. Maybe there is some wood but I am not sure what kind. The sad part is it doesn’t last more than an hour on my skin but its still a good and simple orangey scent for everyone.

Pierre Bourdon nosed this — what more recommendation does it need 🙂 ? He nosed others that are spectacular, among them Ferre by Ferre, Fantasme, Feminite du Bois and Cabaret pour Homme.
I plan on keeping my giant 4.2oz spray tester bottle (no cap) in the refridgerator for quick pick-me-up spritzes on the hottest days of spring, summer and fall. There’s a sultry masculine edge to Tuscan Soul that elevates it from a simple citrus to a light but complex sandalwood concoction that’s both comforting and energizing. Lasting power on my skin is only a couple of hours but reapplication is a pleasure rather than an inconvenience because the top notes are so refreshing.
Tuscan Soul is widely and inexpensively available and is definitely full bottle worthy.
Update: after poking my olfactory brain cells for what this reminded me of I think I’ve got it: this is Jean Nate without the “buttery” note. As olga1780 says, a wonderful workout perfume; I can’t imagine anyone thinking it too strong or offensive in any way.

I really loved this one! Very refreshing and lively. I really like a slight masculine touch about this fragrance. I will probably get a bottle in the future to add to my workout perfume wardrobe…..right now I have too much overhead with my perfumes. But it is so inexpensive…what the heck

  45. :

    5 out of 5

This is a softer citrus than the beginning of AdP Colonia and waayyyyyy more sandalwood than I was ready for. In fact, the sandalwood dominates this fragrance for me. The citrus is very nice, fresh, not too sweet, and the sandalwood balances it out very nicely. For me, sandalwood is always a very strong scent, and I would have preferred just a little less as it tends to weigh down the beautiful light citrus aroma. All in all, this is a very nice frangrance. Definitely usable by both sexes, but be warned, this is not a linear citrus scent.
The longer I have this on, there are definite florals emerging…perhaps edging this over to the feminine side, but that won’t stop me from wearing this lovely scent when it fits my mood.
The longer I have this on, the more I am appreciating it…really lovely. Worth a blind buy for the prices it is going for.
EDIT: The more I wear this fragrance, the more I keep falling for it. It is just so refreshing. Citrus and sandalwood…so simple and very addictive if you like citrus. This has made it to the big leagues in my rotation. Great Sunday morning breakfast in bed scent! Bring on the NY Times…what’s that? put down the paper and come closer…I thought you’d never ask.

  46. :

I really do adore this one. It is so soft and citrusy, sublime. Reminds me so much of Aqua Di Parma Colonia. It is really that close…But to me, this one is softer and lovelier…More poetic, less sharp. This scent recalls beautiful citrus with soft flowers dancing softly in the background. Traditional, Italian-countryside, lovely. However, it has very little staying power on me. So sad about that.

Tuscan Soul is an absolutely beautiful scent for men or women, and is a very summery fragrance. Aptly named, it contains aromas of the Tuscan region, and just like the Soul for which it is named:is alive and vibrant, then gone to a higher plane…I am so glad I got a 4.2 oz bottle of this in tester form for under 30 US dollars!
TS begins with an absolutely wonderful fresh citrus blend of calabrian bergamot (best in the world) and sicilian citruses-juicy, fresh and bright, alongside petit grain’s green freshness. These fade(but don’t disappear) into a lovely floral heart of orange blossom and light smooth magnolia. The body of this is floral, but the citrus keeps it from leaning to much to the femme-Heavenly!…even with the very feminine scent of the magnolia, this remains utterly unisex and balanced. I agree with whoever said it should be called Tuscan Breeze-it has a feel of a warm breeze heavy with citruses and lovely blossoms and refreshes like one, and lasts just about as long. The base of this (according to osMoz) is fig tree and irises. Figs, fig leaves and figwood all smell differently, but similar, and this seems to favor the leaves and some of the fruit. The iris is an elegant flower that gives it a smooth slightly powdery finish. I realise the longevity suffers because of the lack of a heavy fixative in the base, but to me this is part of its charm, it’s ephemeral airy quality
    and complete freshness.
    Sillage: close
    Longevity: short
    Overall: 4.5/5
Despite relatively low marks for projection and lifespan, this scent is one I just adore to no end. I have the shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion; and even with all these, the longevity is extended just slightly and some of you are likely wondering…Why Bother? Well, anything this beautiful (no matter how brief it’s existence) should be celebrated and enjoyed; and I just decant to a little travel spray-bottle and refresh throughout the day. This scent is an absolute must for citrus lovers, and anyone who enjoys (as I do) the aroma of fresh citrus, summer flowers and fresh breezes…Ciao!

Sicilian citrus (oranges and lemons) and Calabrian bergamot were what I was expecting when I tested D&G SICILY, which turned out to be an entirely different sort of fragrance.
SF TUSCAN SOUL would be better named CALABRIAN SOUL, I think. But enough quibbling over names. This composition does open as a citrus, though unnamed woody and musk elements appear to be present as well. These mystery notes have the effect of muting the aromaticity of the citrus. The wood appears to be sandalwood, and unfortunately it is not holding up well in our 90F weather, so I’ll have to give TUSCAN SOUL another chance on a cooler, more Tuscan day…
For now, I’m off to spritz C.O. Bigelow LEMON & ORANGE BLOSSOM (#1807)–not in the database but highly recommended–all over my body. Then I intend to lie naked under a ceiling fan. E vero! (-:

When I think of Tuscany, I think of a strong combination of cypress trees, dry fields, wildflowers, lavender, thyme, and other cooking herbs, not citrus fruits and ocean breezes. I was surprised to find that Tuscan Soul is a light, lemony marine/ozone scent, heavy on the airy notes rather than the citrus, the epitome of a light summery fragrance, sort of a citrus sorbet lite consumed while walking along the beach. To its credit, it manages not to be air freshener citrus, but rather a pleasantly muted citrus combination, nicely balanced by the other notes in the composition. The citrus lasts an hour or so, then is replaced by a thicker scent that I would describe as a lavender musk. I’m surprised to read so many other reviews that labeled this a fleeting fragrance. On me, this later musky stage actually lasts quite a long time, most of a day, with considerable sillage. To me, Tuscan Soul is not a compelling scent, but it’s not aversive, either. It’s just one of the many so-so ones that I inevitably encounter given my equal opportunity sampling strategy.

I really love this when it’s first sprayed, however as so many have said before me, it has absolutely no sillage or longevity.
It’s really very fresh and uplifting, but in my experience lasts only about 20 – 30 minutes maximum on my skin. Lucky it comes in a 125ml size bottle!
Frustratingly, I’d have to say that this is a failure, albeit a pleasantly uplifting one! Shame.
