Description

Trussardi presents the new Trussardi Uomo The Red in September 2016, described as a scent of Italian elegance and style. Trussardi Uomo The Red belongs to the same line as Trussardi Uomo from 2011 and Trussardi Black Extreme from 2014.

The aromatic – spicy opening of the composition includes aromas of lemon, nutmeg, cognac and galbanum. A floral – green heart made of geranium, violet leaf and clary sage lies on an intensive masculine and sensual base of leather, patchouli and tonka bean.

The fragrance is available as a 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette. The nose behind this fragrance is Aurelien Guichard.

This is a fresh spicy mild warm weather daytime scent with great versatility. I get very strong violet leaf, strong geranioum, nutmeg, strong citron and clary sage. The cognac note feels mild and overly synthetic. At the late drydown I get the tonka beans. This is not a new smell for me.
    Performance is moderate overall.

Great juice. Not as boring or generic as some are saying. It won’t win any awards for originality, that’s true. And I can see some of the comparisons to Eros, something I’m not a fan of. But the cognac/brandy note does set it apart. I’m a big fan of brandy, and this sweet, boozy accord is right up my alley. Beyond that, there’s nice tonka, herbs, nutmeg, and faint leather in here.
For me, this is more interesting and wears less synthetic than the original Uomo. The performance is fine but not great. I usually need about 4-5 sprays to get decent longevity and projection from it.
Overall it’s a warming, mass-appealing, slightly sexy winter frag. Never too overbearing and gets good compliments. If you’re looking for a good easy-to-like winter grab with a boozy twist, this is a great buy. Recommended.

I’ve had a hard time smelling it even immediately after applying. .After half an hour at most it was disappeared completely. .This fragrance is a joke

    Fragrance -Trussardi Uomo The Red
    Bottle from – 2016
Trussardi Uomo The Red is very similar to the Trussardi Uomo from 2011.The composition remains more or less the same.Using the same notes(geranium, nutmeg, patchouli, clary sage, leather…),with a little touch of tonka bean and cognac, the perfumer makes The Red look like a sweeter version of Trussardi Uomo.
    Longevity – 7/10(7+hours)
Silage/projection -7/10(moderate projection for the first 2-3 hours)
    Weather – best in autumn,winter
    Age – 25+
    Compliments – 8/10
    Scent – 7/10
Main notes according to me –
    tonka bean,nutmeg,geranium,cognac,clary sage,patchouli.
The drydown is nice and i get some -sweetness,patchouli,tonka and a little bit of leather.
    Emotions -warm,sexy,sweet,fun.
Occasion -casual activities, dates and night out.
Very sweet, warm, aromatic and spicy scent.Perfect for autumn and winter casual activities. You’ll get compliments with this one.

i was in a store few days ago and i smelled some new releases..dior homme sport 2017, mr burberry edp, boss bottled tonic, armani code colonia…all good but nothing special, maybe i will change my mind in the future but the only one that toke my attention is trussardi the red. i disagree in considering this fragrance generic. this is not a masterpiece for sure, but it’s very interesting. it opens fresh and alluring with geranium but then became more manly with spicy and in the drydown i smelled something like leather..on the paper lasted all the day and more. in my opinion is very versitile, it can be used in all seasons and all occasions. so i definitely want to buy it, i know there are fragrances better than this(and more expensive) but there are many others absolutely inferior to trussardi the red. i will update the review when i will buy it. di sicuro promosso!

The Tonka and the geranium is the reason this fragrance gives the Eros feel. Other than tat it’s a sweet n soft spring fragrance. Non offensive . Not strong , but recommend for the price n bottle

Oh, okay… strange way to review a fragrance below, but whatever.
I don’t find there to be anything ‘generic’ about Uomo The Red, I actually find the underlying traditionalism of the Trussardi range to be refreshingly unapologetic. I had never known Trussardi until I randomly sampled ‘My Land’ some 4 or 5 years ago and I immediately fell in love with the classic elements.
The lemon, nutmeg and cognac are so well blended in the opening to be just the right balance of piquancy and sweetness… both linked by the nutmeg which stops it being boring.
Loving Tonka as much as I seem to, it keeps a back seat for me and I thoroughly enjoy the way the sweeter violet leaf note mimics the opening by balancing the spices and sharper notes.
For me, there is just enough of everything to make this work together and is a good choice for anybody who wants a little taste of modernity introduced into their established ways.
I like it a lot. To wear ‘My Land’ during the day, would transition nicely as an underlying skin scent underneath Uomo The Red worn for the evening. Getting mine soon.

Was at the Leonardo airport in Rome yesterday. The duty free shop had stocked up a lot of fragrance at very good price. This fragrance was there at a very good deal.
    The fragrance:
It was a sweet n nice fragrance but didn’t last much, became very feeble in few mins. It did have the Eros vibe which I liked. But if one owns Eros then this perfume is redendent.Lovely bottle design.
Walked on and was about to pick up aqua di gio perfumo. The girl at the store said “everybody in Italy smell like this”! And she was rite.. so dropped t option of buying ADG . Went on n got BDC parfum, as nothing else could please my senses.

maybe rather generic, but quite funny and unexpensive!

It’s actually not that bad. It even might be good (not great, but good).
I got a sample of it almost accidentally. It’s something like “Xeryus Rouge” meets “Hot Water” meets “L’Homme Ideal” in some generic, non-perfect way.
It does smell kinda generic, but at the same time it has some nice moments.
I wouldn’t buy it for myself, but if it were 20% cheaper, I could recommend it for someone who’s looking for a clubbing fragrance.

    CHEAP TONKA
    ________________________________________________________________
Just like the new TRUSSARDI UOMO, THE RED ist generic and cheap. Another tonka bean and geranium fragrance out there.
I hope there are people out there who can enjoy it.
    Longevity: – 2/10
    Sillage: – 3/10
All in all: 1 out of 10 points

Very very similar to Montblanc Legend Intense and so is an excellent versatile all season scent. Performance on this is better than the Montblanc though.
