Truly Pink is a rosy light musk, dries down to a fresh laundry vibe.

I remember when we got this in at Dillard’s a few years ago and to me it smelt like synthetic roses, almost plastic like. Im not big on rose in fragrances it’s very rare if I do. I’m not a fan of Vera wang scents in general, even the princess didn’t catch my attention and I like sweeter scents. Vera wang just does nothing for me. A lot of people like Ralph romance and I detest that scent too because it smells more synthetic than this

Such a classy, airy fragrance! It is a very pretty floral, on me it’s mostly rose but I can detect a supporting cast of other flowers too, mainly peony. Definitely a soft, fresh rose though! Truly Pink is appropriately named, it does bring to mind a pretty bouquet of pink roses with some fillers of baby’s breath.
I only wish it would last more than 30min. It is VERY delicate and sheer. In fairness, my skin does tend to eat fragrance but this one becomes a soft skin scent on me almost right away. It IS still winter, I have not tested in in summer heat yet and I think it may work better for that. I do like it, gorgeous scent, well balanced and beautiful…. but longevity and sillage could be a lot better.
It would be perfect for any occasion where you want a soft aura of something pretty, and not intrude or offend with a strong scent. It’s a very intimate fragrance. I think it would be very useful in a lot of fragrance wardrobes, especially if you tend to go for sweeter, heavier scents like I do. This one is safe and pretty!

At first blast, this takes me immediately back to the lotion my mother used when I was a child. It was a pink bottle with a tiny little picture of a rose bud on it. In googling, I *think* it comes up as Rose Milk skin lotion if I google “vintage rose lotion”. Anyway, yeah….a scent that brings back happy memories or comforting vibes is always lovely. That aside, this is lovely in and of itself. A fresh rose. Slightly green. The lotion smell dissipates rather quickly and that is what I am left with, a fresh green rose scent. Nice, light, inoffensive, not overpowering.
I pick up the rose, the peony, the cassia, a little of the iris and a little woody and a little of the freesia. The other notes are MIA on my skin/to my nose. Litchi? Where are you? No sweetness at all here (and sometimes that can be a beautiful thing!). Lily of the Valley? Guess you are hiding with the litchi.
Great for early Spring, in particular. Makes one think of rose buds just beginning to pop and bloom. Nice especially after a long cold winter. Soft to moderate sillage, depending on how many sprays. Longevity moderate, about 4 to 6 hours, depending how many sprays and the humidity or dryness and all.

I purchased a bottle because of very good reviews and because I wanted some rosey scent after a long time.
And I have to say THANK YOU girls! 🙂 First thing – beautiful bottle and then the scent…Truly romantic, truly feminine, truly clean = Truly pink!

Truly Pink is a wonderful light fresh rose supported by other soft floral notes. It’s very pretty and feminine while still being understated. The sillage is intimate. The longevity is moderate. This would be perfect for a wedding.

    floral fresh light woody green.
stays that way, mostly green and fresh on me. lasted 5 hours so far

Truly Pink by Vera Wang is sparkling pink rose, fresh peony, and soapy lily with a light fruity sweetness from the litchi. I especially like bridal fragrances because they are usually soapy, clean florals that are beautifully done. This is my 3rd perfume from the Vera Wang bridal fragrance collection and I must say that I love her fragrances – the bottles are classy too! I used to collect a lot of rose fragrances, but lean towards white florals these days. However, I think that this fragrance has an excellent balance between the rose and the white florals. Truly Pink is definitely a scent I will enjoy wearing!

I did not like something in the initial spritz, it was sharp but it disappeared very quickly and settled into the most gorgeous rose ever. In no way is it like a drawer liner or toilet spray, but like real sweet English roses in my garden. The rose is the star and the other players just soften it perfectly. I might have added a little more fruit. I am very sad this was discontinued. I used about 3 bottles of it before it was gone. Always looking for that perfect rose replacement.

I LOVE this scent. Rose perfumes are my favorite when done well, and Vera Wang knocked this out of the park!! Then notes blend together so amazingly well that I smell so clearly just a beautiful bouquet of roses, green included. It’s light enough to be worn for everyday, and somehow still special enough to wear for occasions. Great buy!!!
I just wanted to add that I got tired of this and left it alone for about a year. When I came back to it I fell in love all over again. The rose is the obvious star, but this time the peony and litchi really called out to me too. Rose perfumes seem to be a bt of a trend now and this is one well worth investing in. Since I bought this, Sheer Veil and a couple of the Princesses I have discovered I don’t like ALL of Ms. Wang’s fragrances, but the ones I do I “truly” love. <3

smells just like the kate moss perfume just not as synthetic but alike a fake spicy rose scent but it seems to be lasting and I love the bottle its like a big heavy clunky piece that looks nice displayed on a dresser.

Well I have Vera Wang’s Sheer Veil and now Truly Pink. The bottle are exactly the same design except Veil is a lilac purplish color and this one’s pink. I’m looking for the world’s most perfect wedding day wedding gown fragrance so this year I’m spending a lot of $$$$ on perfume. I love rose fragrances. The rose is the star of this show but like with Sheer Veil or for that matter Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet, the fragrance has abysmally short life. I don’t understand why designer labels make fragrances that look so pretty with an attractive bottle and packaging and the smell is great but it doesn’t last as long as you’d like them to. This is heavenly and such a shame that it lasted about 4 hours or less. Maybe it was a defective bottle or maybe others have experienced the same issue. While it lasts, it’s a sweet, soft and perfumy little beauty. Around the rose are other floral scents of freesia, peony iris of the valley and lily of the valley. Peony in perfume ends up smelling just like rose and can be as soft as face powder. I love that effect. This is not what I get out of this peony however. The lily of the valley provides the scent with a green and metallic edge. It’s just the slightest bit herbal like a tea drink. I love the litchi and cassia ingredients. They’re more like spices than fruits, but this never got too spicy. The woodsy notes at the end are a lovely touch. Soft woods. There is nothing wrong with this perfume and I love wearing it but not my idea of a wedding gown fragrance although it has that feel – for 5 hours and my wedding day is going to last all day and night so the quest continues.

Oh my goodness I love this. Such a classy fragrance. Reminds me of weddings in the spring. Easily one of my favourite spring perfumes. Very green, pink rose scent. It’s like taking a bath in rosewater. Simply divine! Can’t fault anything with this. I have a 100ml bottle and love every part of it! Long lasting beautiful dewy rose scent.

  14. :

    3 out of 5

This is a very well constructed fragrance. All of the notes are apparent. If only it lasted longer than a few hours. I had to spray a lot oftenly. I ran out of a 100 ml bottle of this quicker than any other perfume in my life. I don’t see myself repurchasing it again unless it’s available for significantly less amount of $ than what i paid for at Macy’s which was $90 USD.

I’m on the fence with this one. I’ve been searching for a rose with no spices or powder, just a sweet, clean rose, maybe with some slight fruit or honey. This is really pretty, fresh and rose is front and center. I sprayed it on and was delighted, only a few tiny things keep it from being a total love. One, lasting power. I really anticipated this being a lot stronger and lasting at least half a day. It’s noticeable but I would love it to be just a degree or 2 stronger. Lasting power is okay, not great, not terrible, a few hours and you have to press your nose in really close to get it. Two, (and this is really picky) there is a SLIGHT, very tiny amount of something that smells a bit sharp, a bit peppery. It’s not intense at all, but it mars it just a bit for me

I bought this one on a whim in winter, without knowing anything about it and it went unused for a REALLY long time. When spring came around I decided to start wearing it because it seemed fitting, and I liked it more than I did previously, but I noticed bees were attracted to me. The first time it happened I didn’t think anything of it, until I spritzed some on my boyfriend’s wrist, and within 10 minutes of being outside, he was chased by a bee. This is actually a horrible perfume to wear if you are going to be anywhere around bugs. It also does not last very long. It is a very light, rose smell. If you passed someone by with this scent, you would think nothing of it. Not to say that is a bad quality, that is exactly the kind of scent someone may want. It is not my ideal scent however.

  17. :

Such a beautiful classic rose scent. I usually find Rose scents to be very pungent and heady but this one has the right amount of rose and softness. Probably one of the most authentic rose scents out there. Definitely smells like a bouquet of fresh dewy pink roses with the green stems attached. This would make an ideal wedding scent. Sophisticated and special, perfect to evoke memories of your special day 🙂

First of all, Vera Wang perfumes are a class all in their own. Each Vera Wang perfume tells a story on its own and never feels “lacking.” Each perfume is like a book and you read it from cover-to-cover without feeling like there’s something missing.
This particular Vera Wang perfume, Truly Pink, smells exactly like a bouquet of pink roses (my fav. type of rose to sniff at.) With that been said, there is not even the tiniest bit of tackiness or cheapness in it, whatsoever.
This scent makes me think of a woman born into a wealthy family, who knows her etiquette, is feminine and well-bred but also truly kindhearted and gentle. Quick to laugh and with eyes that sparkle.

  19. :

Like a fresh dewy rose and peony bouquet,I love this.
Perfect for spring with the lily of the valley note included.
Reminds me of L’Occitane en provence pivoine, but this is a superior scent to me as I love rose fragrances.
The bottle is classical and elegant.
You can’t go wrong with Vera Wang perfumes, there’s never anything offensive or cloying about them.

it’s just like burying your nose in a bunch of roses! Brings back memories from Middle School, when I had an obsession with the Body Shop bath beads and I would take a bath with a tea rose scented one before a school dance. Very nice, crisp, fresh rose scent but unfortunately it doesn’t last very long on me 🙁

  21. :

    5 out of 5

I was given this as a gift because I love the smell of roses and it is pleasantly rosy, if not terribly unique. I enjoy the woody opening but that burns off very quickly even though woody notes are usually the last to fade. In fact the whole things fades very quickly, which is disappointing for a relatively expensive scent. It looks great on my dresser but I don’t buy perfumes for how they look and I won’t buy this again if I ever get to the end of this gigantic 100ml bottle.

  22. :

    4 out of 5

On me this is a nice clear rose. It’s girly and floral but I really like that! I would use it for daytime events where I want to smell sweet and feminine and innocently sexy. I don’t get any of the chemically smell in the drydown like some others. It starts out with moderate sillage but then dries down very close to the skin. I think I would need to reapply it a few times throughout the day, but a little of the scent lingers right on my skin the morning after. This one got me several compliments. I want it!

If you’ve ever buried your nose into a fresh, dewy rose, inhaled deeply, and wished you could capture that scent in a bottle…then this likely will be a perfume you’ll adore. I bought a bottle a week ago and I’m very much enjoying it. I’m even spritzing it on before I go to bed because I find it pleasant and calming. So,bottom line,if you like the scent of roses you’ll appreciate this perfume…and if not, chances are you’ll regret your purchase.

  24. :

Smells of fresh cut roses and maybe some pear at first. After awhile it turns into a gross plastic smell that is headache inducing. Maybe it just doesn’t work with my chemistry. Too bad that I bought it before it turned on my skin. I was sure I had a winner. I suppose my search for the perfect rose scent is not over and I now have a useless bottle of perfume. humphhh…

  25. :

Pale cold roses, fresh from the florist’s cooler, hanging on a fence covered with wet paint. Linear but fun.

I remember I smelled this fragrance a few years back at a local department store. The first thing i said was, “It smells like roses!” and I made my husband buy it for me. But sadly, the more I wore it, the more headache inducing it became. I don’t wear it that often anymore because it doesn’t smell like that real rose I smelled the first time. Now it smells quite synthetic. When I spray some on all I can smell is a plastic rose mixed with some hair spray 🙁

  27. :

    3 out of 5

Nothing much to say that hasn’t already been said.
A very clean, fresh, rose floral
You can wear this one anywhere at anytime, lays close to the skin, and lasts for hours!
A definite winner in my book, a beautiful, completely inoffensive fragrance.
I’ll give her a 8.5/10 (-1.5 for not being the complete standout that I am used to!)
edit: the wife loves it! Let’s bump that score up to a 9.5!!!

This is mature and classy but, at the same time, with an aura of innocence. I love the peony and Iris notes, they really stir the imagination next to the soft pink rose. This fragrance is a timeless classic that will never go out of style. 5 stars! *****

I loved this and was planning to wear it for my wedding day (sadly, I completely forgot until after!) anyway I have worn it on and off for just under a year but no longer like the way it smells, there is something bitter and synthetic hiding in there that I never used to notice. Or maybe it has turned in which case it has quite a short shelf life.

Initially, I didn’t like it because of the green note in it. But after trying it for a few times (didn’t want to waste my big bottle), I am beginning to love it.. The smell is rosey and light, very similiar to the drydown of Stella. Like Soie said, not much sillage though.

Truly a feminine scent. She captures her fashion sense with this one. Lovely, not overpowering but lasting.

This fragrance smells like a straight up rose. It smells green too, like a real rose. I love this fragrance and it was my first one ever. I can wear it to work, or to dinner and it’s so lovely and feminine.

  34. :

    5 out of 5

This fragrance is truly feminine. It is soft and sweet and foral. For the woman who loves to be given roses and is a true romantic at heart. For a light fragrance the last power is superb however I find that it stays relatively close to the skin. A perfect choice for an everyday fragrance inoffensive and yet very appealing.

I absolutely love this fragrance “Truly Pink”! I can wear it anywhere and anytime.

  36. :

This is basically pink roses + lilies and peonies. It gives me the feeling of being in a pink rose garden on a spring morning. The name fits the fragrance perfectly – Truly Pink. Very pretty, light, fresh and totally inoffensive – Very “pink” indeed. The perfect fragrance to meet your future in-laws :0)

  37. :

    5 out of 5

This is a delightfully soft and feminine fragrance. I haven’t always liked Vera Wang fragrances, but Truly Pink breaks the mold for me.
It is nothing spectacular, but for what it’s worth, it is something that I can imagine a bride wearing, which is essentially what this brand is all about. Every note seems to be presented as subtly as possible.
Freesia and lily of the valley gives this composition a clean and soapy feel. However, the rose, peony and litchi makes this fragrance that touch juicy and ‘pink’.
I liken Truly Pink to marshmallows, simply because they’re light on flavour but pleasantly delicate and soft. This fragrance is like that for me.
It’s not something I would probably ever buy for myself, seeming that ethereal scents aren’t really for me. But I do appreciate Truly Pink for all its simplicity and delicacy.
I would recommend this fragrance for girly girls, or even women who approach perfume with a sense of trepidation. Truly Pink is inoffensive in every sense of the word. A nice surprise.

a soft rose scent that is very feminine. i love this. paired with the body lotion the lasting power is good. i would wear this night or day, any season. i think its a beautful sophisticated light rose perfume. i’m glad i don’t smell overwhelming freesia in this. the rose scent is dominant to my nose and i like that.

I find it very similar to Valentino’s Rock-n-Rose Pret a Porter. The rose is too overpowering for me to like it.

  41. :

    4 out of 5

This fragrance truly smells like pink roses. However the way you use this fragrance is key. spay a little in the air and let it fall on your skin and its light and soft, spray a lot close to your skin and its strong and over powering. I purchased a bottle with the body creme a little over a year ago. I apply the body creme right out the shower and just spray the perfume once in the air and let it fall over me and I m good all day and its never over powering. You just need to spray a little and it goes a long way.

  42. :

The freesia (it smells very similar to sweet pea) was overpowering for me! I would not recommend this perfume to anyone with a sensitive nose.

I have the body lotion of that and it smells sooooo good

  44. :

    5 out of 5

This smells to me like sweet peas still on the vine, it must be the freesia – its a gorgeous floral scent. There is a a bit of a green grass/ lucerne note too it as well, and for me a little bit of aniseed heading into the dry down. I don’t get much rose, if any at all. I think this is a really pretty and honest warmer weather scent. It lasts well on me, nearly all day if applied liberally.

  45. :

I just got this one. I have to say, I bought this unsniffed and for something named Truly Pink-it does not smell at all like I expected. I think a “pink” perfume should be light and sweet and this concoction is- at least to my nose harsh and overbearing. Its too bad because I really love the bottle. This one is going on Ebay soon. Its just way to strong for me.

  46. :

I didn’t even realize that there was a scent released between the original and the Sheer Veil. I have both of these and I think I prefer the Sheer Veil just a little more than the original. Both are excellent scents. I love the smell of roses and will be looking for Truly Pink.

  47. :

This was compared to rose water, and I love the way rose water smells so I decided to pick it up. And it is basically a “perfumed” rose water, and unfortunately too much like what my grandma used to wear while I was growing up. I can’t smell it without seeing gray hair and thinking of peach fuzz covered cheeks. The dry down is a bit less rose, a little sweet, and soft. It’s a pleasant feminine scent, but not for me.

  48. :

It is sweet and floral…. not too loud and perfect for day wear! It works good in the hot climate of the Caribbean

  49. :

This smells ALMOST identical to Elizabeth Taylors’ Forever Elizabeth. It’s very nice…. I can smell that same peppery note they share, I think that’s the rose in them(?). It’s very light, perfect for daytime.. perfect for weddings.

  50. :

    4 out of 5

How I wanted to like this one, I thought hmm…I would like a new rose scent. For me I get nothing but rose, no iris no litchi nothin but rose! It is an intoxicating fresh picked rose smell where it literally smells like I covered myself in rose petals. Very strong, and I love rose.

  51. :

    3 out of 5

This is probably the nicest rose scent I have ever smelled. Enough rose to smell, but not knock you down. Blended delicately with other florals. I love it.

  52. :

Roses and lychee are perfect partners. They compliment each other. I have noticed for many years that many type of roses smell like lychee. The addition of lychee to the fragrance gives it depth and makes the fragrance more interesting and sweeter. It is great that this one doesn’t have to use vanilla to make it sweet – that’s the key to ensure that it is not headache inducing.

  53. :

    4 out of 5

I actually love it on my friend’s but haven’t try this on me…it’s already her scent anyway….I like it a lot, it’s very feminine

  54. :

Truly Pink is similar to VW original in one way: the neat, succinct, unfrayed quality of the composition. Nothing is unusual, wild, or out of place. Then again, nothing is all that interesting. Despite this, I rather like the middle notes of this simplistic, but utterly unnatural, light peony-rose. The top is spitzy and overly aldehydic, and I can’t seem to find any base to speak of. Not a complex scent; it reminds me of the old Rose Milk lotion my Nana keeps in her bath. For this type of scent, I infinitely prefer Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker, with its substantial base and unsweet florals.

  55. :

    5 out of 5

Too much freesia can be a bad thing. Very very floral obviously a pretty elegant mature wedding gown scent. This is seriously not the best fragrance i’ve tired. It’s not very unique at all. Be prepared for a sharp note when you first spray it on. You can smell the rose (if you look for it) a little later on after the first spray but it’s kinda boring. Truly Pink does not contain musk which makes it simple and light (the way i like my fragrances). The lasting power is very very nice. I put some on my wrist and can take a shower and still smell it the next day! Not headache inducing 🙂

  56. :

    4 out of 5

This is way to sweetly floral for me.. I guess it smells like a rose but more like rosewater… it might be good for wedding day wear but it isn’t something that I would wear otherwise. I have Sheer Veil and original VW and was very disappointed.
