I just got a bottle of vintage Timeless in the mail and put it on. It is really lovely stuff! My nose is “in training,” I’m not good at knowing or describing the notes, but I can say that it is just the right combo of warm and spicy for me. It’s sweet but not cloying, which I like too.
Some others more knowledgable have said it is a bit like Vol de Nuit. I’ll have to try that comparison, but right now I”m just enjoying Timeless. I think I like it as well as Vol de Nuit , though, and that is saying something.
Very glad to have this vintage perfume.
speznarik – :
Timeless arrived today, and it appears I got the newer version in the rectangular bottle. Most of the reviews mention how great the vintage is, sadly I can’t chime in for lack of ever having smelled it.
The new stuff is OK, but not great. It opens a bit sharp and dries down quickly, leaving a soft, warm scent behind. I can’t make out any specific notes, it’s just a warm, slightly powdery scent.
It just so happened that earlier today I sprayed on Tresor by Lancome. Since I didn’t layer the scents I was able to compare the two. Well, Timeless isn’t nearly as well constructed as Tresor. Nor does it have the sillage and lasting power of the Lancome fragrance.
Timeless isn’t bad, but it is cheap. I don’t dislike it, but I don’t love it either.
Zhirdiay – :
I’m so glad Avon still makes this beauty. This chypre starts off very green and earthy but the dry down is warm and cozy with tonka, powder, and resins. This will be perfect this fall and winter. A classic bargain fragrance!
yge649Unlogrere – :
I can’t believe I never reviewed Timeless!
I have the reformulation, tall, slim bottle, from 2010 I think, and I wore it again like after years.
First off, this juice matures so well. I find it indeed much better than what it was. Just like a good wine, stored under good conditions, but most importantly loved.
Timeless is a very powdery and elegant chypre which gets sweeter as it dries down. This is very ladylike and old-world. Except the fact that I was a goth girl, this juice itself is way too clean, proper and motherly to be considered as goth like maybe Youth Dew. One will need quite a fine taste to appreciate Timeless in their younger years I believe.
Timeless’ musky sweetness reminds me of hot rice cinnamon pudding exactly. I think this is opoponax, and it quite reminds me of the smell of benzoin resin. That’s not a gourmand kind of sweetness though, the scent is almost green (it reminds me of Ma Griffe by Carven) and oakmoss is evident mixed with a soft, floral, powdery aura.
In short this scent is a must grab, since the vintage is pretty affordable as well!
Brorgeted – :
A retro delight. I sprayed this on my wrist and had an immediate picture of my mother! She must have worn Timeless, in the early 90’s most likely. I can actually remember holding that octagonal bottle in my hands. Scent has such strong memories.
Moving beyond that though, this is a fine floral chypre. It’s not a light perfume. The opening is rather harsh and makes me feel like I’ve sprayed too much on. One to go easy with, for sure. But it mellows out to a scent that reminds me of an autumn day, with vintage florals and that chypre base.
vcv119elipseskism – :
Great cool weather comfort scent! You have smelled this on someone before . . . probably when being hugged. Timeless is a classic. Heated with amber and vanilla, shot with aldehydes. There’s a floral accord of the richest flowers – rose, gardenia, jasmine and iris. It made you feel loved, warm and secure, just like a hug from your mother or grandma! Still does!
Today’s young woman wearing this has a cutting edge aura of taste, a projection of intellect and understanding. I recently smelled it on a 20-something woman, and was so impressed I asked her what she had on. Then realized I had a great vintage sample! Still has that cozy opulence!
vikusia605 – :
I fell in love with this scent as a teenager and remember ordering some from our Avon lady. A sweet, musky, cozy scent. Just recently ordered some from Amazon. The scent is just about what I remember except it isnt quite as rich of a formulation, if that makes any sense.
rfe483speagoessenda – :
Timeless is almost as woody as Must by Cartier. It’s less sexy and therefore more versatile than Youth Dew, but in the same category. The aldehydes, or something, remind me of Clinique Aromatics and Claude Montana from the late eighties, but Timeless is a bit prettier. It most reminds me of Lancôme Magie Noir. Slightly unisex. It makes me feel my ‘80s inner goth girl. Think the opposite of Pleasures by Estée Lauder. Smells more expensive than it is. A retro alternative to modern day juicy and fruity scents. Timeless is a dry martini in the hand of a well made-up grownup (who used to be goth).

I love how this has been going since the era of Avon Tasha and Topaze……how i wish they would bring them back ! The comfort of that 70s ‘Avonny’ smell, coming in novelty minatures at christmas time with the bottles moulded to novelty shapes. The Avon lady in our village had her whole front room stuffed with boxes and boxes of Avon stuff, like her own shop ! And great aunts would give me and my sister those novelty minatures for Christmas.Anyway, back to this perfume.it has such an intense aldehydic sherbetiness, the old formulation used to PROJECT ! It got into your food and make folks eyes water on the bus ! So the new dilution is just right for me.i love it.it is a greeny orange perfume and it reminds me of green unripe oranges straight off the tree, saltmarsh grasses, and homemade elderflower cordial with loads and loads of cirtic acid put in it.it gives nostalgia to the wearer too,and is classy and elegant.i sincerely hope Avon never send this to the Tasha and Topaze graveyard.also,it would be wonderful if they brought back the matching skin-softener in an orange jar,and the roll-on deo ! I am wearing it now !

I am obsessed with vintage Guerlains, but on a budget… haha…. The available EDT refill of Vol de Nuit is very weak. It’s such a beautiful scent… I think…. haha… It’s so faint, but what I do smell is gorgeous. I saw comparisons to Timeless on the VdeN page, so I grabbed the vintage Timeless cologne off ebay.
Well, I’m not sure this smells like VdeN, but this is along the same lines. Reminds me more of Obsession and Youth Dew… very vintage and musky/strong. And as it dried down (no prob with potency/sillage) it got more masculine- I think someone compared this to Stetson? Yep. Right on.
It’s a neat lil vintage, I grabbed it for less than $10 total.
Ded Pichto – :
I started wearing Timeless as a 17 year old teenage girl in 1975-76. It was a very unique scent then and now that I am almost 60, I still love it. Yes, the initial spray is a aldehyde blast, but as it dries down, it is a warm, somewhat spicy scent that feels as comfortable as a plush comforter on a chilly Fall or Winter day…to its reminiscent of Magie Noire, which is another favorite. I still have a bottle in the original packaging, the pretty faceted glass bottle with a gold-colored top. I am not too fond of the new bottle, especially with a black plastic top? Really LOL
Anyway, this is one perfume that stands true to its name…Timeless.
Шерочка – :
I sent off for it having been told it would be like a couple of favourite perfumes. You never can tell but I was in the mood for a gamble. It immediately became a favourite. It’s sensual, feminine, relaxing, comforting, uplifting, it’s warm summer days in a glass bottle.
It won’t work for everybody, but for me, it’s a scent I feel very much at home in.
plyuto87 – :
Oh my goodness I had to retry Timeless i hadn’t smelled it since the 80s so i bought the current and older version i think there both gorgeous it does remind me miss dior from many years ago I love the musky tones in timeless! Its a beautiful Chypre I’m in love!
tima134 – :
Couldn’t have a perfume collection without at least one Avon. This appears to be a re-released classic. That’s okay. It’s still from Avon and I like my choice. The aldehydes in this type of fragrance with these balsamic vibes really works for me. Frankly, I prefer this over a very much more expensive YSL Opium. It may smell like Intimate. I have that but didn’t think of it. Both are great bargains so you could try both and decide for yourself. Think going to wear this more often. Wonderful for cooler and cold weather. Win. btw, these aldehydes are mellow. They keep the harmony from getting too heavy.
volchonok – :
My mother sold Avon during the 1970s and into the early 1980s. She loved Timeless. She always got compliments on it. I can remember a rich bitch lady at church asking my mother what it was. The lady was genuinely surprised that it was an Avon fragrance. Needless to say, my mother scored another customer.
My mom had several bottles of high-end fragrances in her vanity, including Shalimar and Chanel No. 19 . However, my dad really liked it when she wore Timeless. It became my mom’s signature. She always used the cream in the peach colored jar on her neck, chest, and wrists, instead of the spray, because she felt the cologne spray was far too strong. I have to agree with her. I still have a couple of vintage bottles of the cologne. When I wear the cologne, I spray it in the air and walk through it. I do buy the cream in the jar when it’s available. Although the newer cream formula is not as overpowering as it was it was in the 70s/80s, it is still velvety and less intense than the cologne spray, while still retaining staying power and sillage.
I think Timeless, especially the vintage Timeless, has a classic, high end essence to it. IMHO, the fragrance snobs are turned off by the Avon brand, not the actual fragrance, itself.
Bond 007 – :
A true classic. I remember it from “way back when”. The truly unique things about it are 1) the physical texture of the scent is thick and almost oily… but not in a bad way. 2) The longevity is INCREDIBLE, and would beat out almost every modern day fragrance.
dasha_one – :
One MISS DIOR classique that was in shops in 1997/99 was very similar to Timeless …
Vovo – :
Review for the current US formulation in the glass bottle as shown:
This gorgeous, affordable elixir was created before I was even born, yet when I first smelled it I felt like I was at home with myself and the world. Comforting, calming, grounding, and wonderfully ‘timeless’. Well named indeed! It is softer than formerly, but still quite close to the formulation of the past – rather like an edt version of a fragrance in contrast to the edp.
Interestingly enough, I find that men are drawn to the womanly warmth that is Timeless. On the right chemistry it can be alluring and comforting at one and the same time. Not surprisingly, if you consider the notes! We have a near recipe for aphrodisiac brews, an amber-balsamic-gardenia-civet-musk quality that is effectively seductive, and not just to the older generation…
If this is your first experience with Timeless, might I suggest the matching Scented Skin Softener? It will give you the warmth and charm of this classic’s dry down without the sharper aldehydic opening. I consider the perfume’s top notes to be sparkling and invigorating, though a little surprising to those not accustomed to pre-1990’s era fragrances. The skin softener has all of the base notes in gentle proportions in an excellent cream style lotion. It was my introduction to this brilliant little gem, and I’ve never looked back.
Rating – Top Hole, Five stars!
victork62 – :
Very strong and old lady smelling! It is a good juice if you like perfumes like Chanel N5. I am not saying they smell similar but to me they are definitely in the same category!
dj max – :
Timeless is a beautiful fragrance. I agree with one of the previous postings: forget the cheap bottle with the transparent sticker that says Timeless. Forget the plastic stopper spray. Forget the bottom of the bottle that says “made in Poland”. Forget the thin cardboard box, but DON’T forget this costs £5! £5 for 50ml, that’s £10 for £100ml! This is a beautiful amber, musky, powdery scent with a hint of incense and rose which for me is unisex. Could be a Guerlain or a Dior.
Safe to wear anywhere, anytime!
Someone wrote it smells like Shalimar… Not quite. To me more like Burberry Original for Women, or Musk by Jovan.
Excellent longevity and sillage well balanced: not in your face, but present enough to delicately show its presence.
Well done Avon. I will rebuy and rebuy and rebuy.
csysha.2010 – :
Got the newest formulation last Christmas. Nowhere near what the original is – its a pale shadow. So have ordered the vintage on ebay – the one in the hexagonal long bottle as per the photo above. The creme scent is amazing too. Gorgeousness, woody, warm sensuous and comforting all at the same time Scent that will always remind me of mum when she used to be an Avon rep.
ramirez – :
True to it’s moniker a timeless fragrance. My mother still wears this and I love how it smells on her. Because it wears so much like Emeraude and Shalimar I too wear it. This is an Oriental floral with aldehydes and smells as perfumy as perfume can get. The fragrance opens with citrus notes of bergamot and lemon very much the same way that Shalimar opens except more aldehydic and also a lot fruitier with additional notes of peach and something like an apricot. The floral heart contains iris rose and jasmine (again like the flowers in Shalimar and Emeraude). The iris stands out as does the jasmine but the rose is very distant. The smoky aromatic patchouli creates a smoky veil of incense over the flowers anyways so that this is more a patchouli than a floral. It develops into a base of strong heavy hitting opoponax and musk. It’s musky and unisex. The amber note however keeps everything together and makes the fragrance last a long long time. Beautiful, romantic, and womanly. An evening cologne for romantic dinners and special affairs. This fragrance was made when perfumery was still an art form and even the Avon fragrances were as incredible as Chanel. Love this stuff.

Enchanting and poetic, as the voice of Peggy Lee, I even started to play “Johnny Guitar”, once applied Timeless.
It is the perfume, which smells like a dawn, – something beautifully calming dusty in it, not like webs in the corners of the house, but like a dancing dust on a country road. We forgot almost, how it feels, when roads are not covered by thick level of tarmac, how the oakmoss make fragrances real and alive, next generation will not know about Peggy Lee and only God knows, what our kids will do after our death with bottles of our beloved vintages.
I love this fragrance, it feels like soft leathery wrapping, despite mentioned ingredients wouldn’t say so, it makes me happy and sad, also it is the first Avon I can say I admire and never going to swap.
renatnk – :
This starts off as a very mossy/musky smell, which i love, then settles into a clean powdery/flowery scent. The longevity on this is amazing, i can spray once in the morning and still smell it when going to bed. Pretty amazing for something that cost just £5.
Romul13 – :
Opoponax and aldehydes and patchouli, oh my! I love all those things, so I love Timeless. It really is a wallop of opoponax, so if you’re a big fan of that note as I am, you’ll definitely want to try this (and at less than $10 on Ebay, it’s a non-risk). A bit of musk, a bit of vanilla sweetness, a bit of powdery dustiness from the iris. Hints of cedar and white floral. All sorts of goodness. I definitely see the similarity to Intimate (current formulation), but Timeless has more going on and much better longevity. If you don’t care for aldehydes, the beginning will be rough, because they are Present with a capital P, but if you can tolerate it they do fade out, as they typically do. Timeless is very warm and reminds me of burnished gold somehow. It’s very classical and womanly; there’s no lighthearted silliness to be found here… just complex, mature beauty.
Ramzess1991 – :
I really have to laugh when I see something classified as an “Old Lady” perfume. Most old ladies I know wear the classics such as Shalimar, Chanel#5,etc. If Timeless is an old lady perfume that just means it is classic and well, timeless.
It seems to have been reformulated since I last tried it, a little more subtle; but still the chypre that I loved. It is warm, softly spicy, yet “clean’ smelling at the same time. It is so different from the fruit salad bombs that everyone seems to come out with these days.
Yes, it is Avon. They do tend to put out a lot of overbearing fragrances. But when they get one right, such as Timeless; they hit it out of the ball park. For those of you who can step outside the box and not be snobbish, I think this one will surprise you. And the price is low enough to try without breaking the bank.
papiros – :
I thought I would like this perfume when I saw it in the avon catalogue. It mentioned jasmine, something else I like and amber. I rubbed it on my wrist and I wished I hadn’t.
When I found this page (a few months back) almost all the comments said this fragrance was what Fragrantica censors as ‘the bank of England’ – for the older woman,or this is what it reminded them of. They were all deleted. I dont want to be ageist as anyone can wear what they fancy. But it must remind of us of something our grandmas wore. It does say it was first manufactured in 1974.
It is deep, very musty (in my opinion), strong and old fashioned (not modern) sort of scent.
‘timeless’ – not really. I did think perhaps it meant as time passes and one gets older.. Anyway. Its rich. Yep, myrrh and resins. Deep. And that musty scent.
If you want something different and perhaps like to be unique this might be good for you.
ole3156817 – :
Opens like hairspray. It’s a slap in the face with that ‘cheap perfume’ Avon tackyness. Bitter and horrible, headache inducing nastiness.
But then…
Give it half an hour (if you can bear it) and something like Shalimar emerges. There’s subtle spicyness, not as complex or powdery as Shalimar, but warm and quite nice.
Give it another half hour and it’s a stale old bar of soap that’s fallen down the back of the bathroom cabinet. There’s a hint of something that might be nice, but it’s lost in mustiness.
Quite disapointed, after all the comparisons to Shalimar. I can see where they are coming from, but it’s not working for me. Overall impression is cheap.

Timeless Vintage: In a large lot, I received a very cute celeste blue glass octagon half oz bottle of Timeless, with a silver ball cap, and white snowflake design. Now the opening of Timeless is a definate Avon twang. But after a bit, it settles into a finer chypre oriental mix…And the dry down has a componenet that Nahema Guerlain has in the dry down also. Someone with more experience will know the scent. Vintage Timeless dry down can be compared with very very good houses. Worth a try for sure. I am learning to try Avon vintage. I really like Timeless.
Andre_1985 – :
Of all the gorgeous samples I tried this afternoon, this is the one my nose kept coming back to sniff. It is timeless. A classic chypre, beautiful. One of the must haves in any parfumista’s wardrobe for sure. A great example of aldehydey goodness, that sweetens down to the most wonderful amber/woody floral. The old school Avons are the best. They are the keepers and the ones that will be the staple or the building blocks of perfume collections for a while to come. Big thumbs up on this one, I had forgotten how good it was!

I love timeless and I’m not crazy about aldahydes or chypre fragrances! I know how that sounds but it’s true. I have to say I love vintage Avon and this just works for me. Two of my many favs are not listed here.
Brocade – It like taking a shower with the 60’s! All Jasmine, soap and musk.
Cotillion – First put out in the 30’s it’s just this amazing sweet, powdery, resinous oriental floral that is right up my alley!
Savook – :
I had the EDT and hated it. It smells really old fashioned and musty.
Farf – :
I agree w/ the review 2 below me that it’s “spicy, fresh, green”, I actually thought it was a sort of bitter fresh cold galbanum, but I guess it must be a mix of bergamot, cold aldehydes, oppoponax & a slight lemon touch. Very nice! Reminds me somewhat (from only 1 try each) of Magie Noire by Lancome. But this seems fresher and yes, a bit soapier. Reminds me somewhat of those foaming carpet cleaners used by door to door salesmen in the 90’s.
It’s interesting but (ironically due to the name!) too vintage for me to actually wear it other than this testing.

Timeless was my signature fragrance when I was in high school. It was my signature fragrance because I received a bottle for Christmas, and it was the only perfume I owned. The perfume smelled the same on me as it did sprayed out of bottle. Obviously, I grew sick the fragrance and would never want another bottle.
dimirk – :
Not tried the vintage but had this in my collection for a while and thought..Why not??
I am male and it has been a chilly, Sunny day here, about 6 degs centigrade.I have been outdoors in the countryside walking and Timeless was ideal. I like Tabu, Shalimar etc also Toujours moi which this reminds me of a little but the strongest resemblance in my nose is to Habanita without the heaviness.
I smell amber and spices and the fragrance gets softer and more appealing after an hour.
A powdery vibe to finish and lasts 4 to 5 hours.
Not cheap smelling and has a warmth without the sickliness of many fragrances of this era.
I would define it as oriental/chypre and find it pleasurable to wear.
About 5 to 6 sprays is enough.
Out of 10 I will award 8.
Not a fragrance which is commonplace in todays market but it has a place and I hope it is never discontinued.
nata0206k – :
Bitter, complicated, difficult, all opoponax and aldehydes, old fashioned, sexy and kind of melancholic, like that brooding artsy type you dated when you were 19 (don’t lie, we all had one). It’s certainly old fashioned, not modern, but for a bohemian or gothy type, extremely suitable. It is not sweet, or delicate, and it does not attempt to be universally charming, which makes it that much more charming for those who like it. There is no sweetness on my skin, on me Tabu has a cinnamon-sweet quality that this aggressively lacks.
beketov87 – :
Fantastic! It really is timeless. This is one for the big girls. Right up there there with Shalimar, Obsession, Coco, Tabu, etc. I don’t want to hear none of this smells like “an old lady” nonsense! It smells fantastic and sensual. No it doesn’t smell like cotton candy and cupcakes, if that’s what you’re looking for you won’t find it with Timeless. Keep moving, there is lots out there for you, this one is for the big girls.

This is a seriously gorgeous perfume. I keep reading about it, and I’ve been wanting to try it for a while, so when I stumbled across two vintage bottles at an estate sale, for $1 each, I grabbed them.
I normally like to take notes when I wear a perfume for the first time, but I put this on this morning, and then the zipper on my daughter’s coat broke and I spent the day shopping for a new one so she’d have something to wear to school tomorrow. It was nice when I put it on, but not stunning. I remember thinking “Oh, I hope it doesn’t go funky on me while I am out.”
After a few hours though? Oh my. So beautiful. I keep seeing this compared to Vol de Nuit, which I am not familiar with, though I do see a resemblance to L’Heure Bleue, which I have. At any rate, if you handed me an unmarked vial of Timeless and told me it was Guerlain, I’d totally believe you.
Longevity is good too. I can still smell this after ten hours. The drydown is musky, but not the “Avonade” that I get from so many Avon perfumes. This is a great floral chypre–certainly one of the best budget ones I have come across, and maybe my favorite Avon scent. I see that not everybody loves it, but if you come across a bottle, it’s worth a try.
I know that some have compared it to Shalimar and Emeraude, but I just don’t see the resemblance. Timeless is much more floral to me. Shalimar and Emeraude have a lot of vanilla, and Timeless has just a hint. I love Emeraude and wear it often, it’s more powdery vanilla on me. In Timeless, I get only hints of powder and vanilla, with more soft, cool green floral notes.

Avon Timeless is, well, timeless. Such a classic! It smells so much like Emeraude, one of my favorite perfumes of all time. It’s warm, rich, and womanly. If you layer it with the coordinating body lotion and powder, it lasts all day. If you’re a fan of Emeraude of Shalimar, check out Timeless. Such a nice departure from modern sticky-sweet scents!

This is such a classic and I’m so glad Avon is still making it. I grew tired of most of my Avon perfumes but I still adore this one and always will. I can smell the cedar, patchouli, amber, woods and a touch of leather…so soothing on a cool autumn day. If you love vintage and old school fragrances, you need to try this. A must imo for the fall/winter months!

This reminds me a little of Femme by Rochas or Tabu by Dana, but the gardenia freshens the heavy powder, making it more suitable to wear for warm weather as well as cold. Love the vintage avon, glad they’ve kept this going

I still remember this lingering around from when I was 7 years old in about 1989 at the house where I got my cat from. I remembered it and then when I smelled it on someone at work, I just HAD to know what it was called and it was Timeless. Beautiful fragrance.

One of the the best ever, the end. Love it.
tsazonov – :
Years and years since smelling this while experiencing many more, today I saw a bottle and did a big spritz. This is Rochas Femme’s twin sister! Equally scandalous yet mysteriously beautiful at the same time. While Timeless is called a floral chypre and RF is a fruity one, I can hardly tell the difference in the two, right down to cumin-like body odor note my skin does not handle well. It is so very much like the famously infamous Femme, even the peach is outstanding to me and I would say it is more fruity than floral. I LOVE it, just as I adore Femme. It has all the deep, rich, resinous notes I love. The oppoponax and amber is highly addictive but strangely, I do not detect much ‘chouli. Same sweet level but not as juicy/spicy as femme, Timeless is still femme’s twin with minor distinctions as twins have.
Wow! I congratulate Avon on such a phenomenal replica of the loveliest yet skankiest perfume in history and I mean that as a seriously high compliment. Femme still compels me though I cannot do the cumin-ish note in Timeless or Femme. Since cumin is not listed in either I still have no idea what is pulling it but something cumin is definitely very present in both. I cannot wear Timeless, but I admire it’s composition and blend. Lovely! … on someone else. 🙂

I have always been drawn to chypre florals, having worn Diva, Fendi, and Knowing a lot in the past. Somewhat masculine smells appealed to me more in the past. But Timeless, while a bit loud when first put on, is a beautiful fragrance, a great value, and long lasting. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a bottle of this. Very easy to find on Ebay for a very good price.
If you like chypres at all, it’s worth trying.
Timeless will stay on me all day. I love that I can still smell it hours later.
I really hope that Avon does not discontinue this or change the formulation for it.
I recently bought 2 bottles on Ebay for about $20.

I started wearing cologne at a very young age, mostly Avon Here’s my Heart, which I ADORE. I always knew when the Avon lady had been there because she always wore Timeless and the scent would linger in the house. I couldn’t wait till i was old enough to wear it. I began wearing it in my teens and I always have it in my perfume collection to this day 30+ years later. I absolutely LOVE it! Liquid gold!

Everytime I apply this I hate the initial smell for the first 10-15mins but then it settles down to smell really sumptuous and powdery, which I am always pleasantly surprised by. Its something that I tend to reach for more in the winter as its quite a warm and comforting smell. I always get complimented on how lovely I smell when I wear this one!
Marjorie35 – :
Well, I am almost embarrassed to write this review. Call this confessions of a brand snob, if you will. And Timeless gets a particularly bad rap.
Even with the lightest application, it went on rough; I mean really rough. The combination of the aldehydes, sharp lemon, and the heavy amber, bitter incense-y opoponax, and musty cedar rose immediately to the surface and rushed out in a jangle. What peach or gardenia there was supposed to be was drowned out. I reminded myself that I don’t like opoponax anyway and wondered why I even tried this sample on.
Then a strange thing happened. The notes began to calm, coalesce. The vanilla and tonka intensified. A cool, powdery iris began to become prominent. The amber and the opoponax begin to complement one another as the aldehydes subsided. The musk was present, but there was too much else going on for it to dominate.
My skin still doesn’t particularly favor resins, but dare I say it, this smells… not bad. If you are still unconvinced, perhaps you should search the notes iris, incense, vanilla and tonka. You might even like this better than some that share these notes.
Like with some other, older perfumes, the key is not to over-apply. How to you avoid this: spray some on a cotton ball and apply from that. You may find yourself with a happy result.

My spelling on this is embarassing, Well I review Timeless and watch it, I either Love or hate oriental sents, no inbetween about it, However Timeless I have mixed feelings about. It’s not all together unplesent However at first It s comes off quite strong, it’s way too much of a Hevy Chypre Sent, kind of like bland amber with out much of the sweetness of amber, and in order to experience the florals or the powderyness, the spicy notes or any personality from it. You have to wait a half hour to 45 minutes and I just don’t have the patience with it. Even Orientals, I still expect some sweetness from or they ar just not feminine, you just get bssicly a mens colone or something a woman whould wear from a bygone time, or the Perfume has been sitting around for years in an Antique Store. Excuse the term this is what I call Old Ladyish, not becasue Timeless has been around a while, not because it’s an Oriental, Is becasue of the lack of Other notes other then bland Amber at first, If you got the patience with it or Very Mature Sents is what you like, then Timess May be Up your Ally or if Not and you like Avon and Like the Resonable Prices of Avon and Like Oridentals Consider Far Away when it goes on Sale several times a Year at 10 to 12 dollars, I like this sent much better only for a few dollars more.

Generaly I have 2 reactions to Oriental sents, I Love then or I hate them, Timeless is the first Oridental sent that I’m in beweet about, I comes off as too Strong, giving it a chance to get to like it it does have a few sweet notes to it and give it enough time it get a bit more mellow an powdery, but I’m not to sure that I have the patience to wait that long to get to like it more, and the better soide of timless takes a bit longer than 10 to 15 minutes to show it self. Wile waiting for the kinder genler side to show up, this is the first sent I ever called Old Ladyish, not becasue it’s bee
