Description

After the original The One for Men from 2008 and The One Gentlemen from 2010, Dolce Gabbana launches the third fragrance from The One masculine line, lighter and fresher The One Sport. As its name suggests, The One Sport is designed for active sportsmen and dynamic “modern gladiators” who enjoy unrestrained freedom and the excitement of outdoor activities. This fragrance also represents the first sporty fragrance of the house.

Stefano Gabanna described the inspiration for this creation to the wwd magazine: “We have friends that go to the gym. They are each very different from one another, but they all enjoy going to the gym for themselves, to feel good about themselves. As the Latins said, ‘Mens sana in corpore sano (or a sound mind in a healthy body, in English).’ ”

The composition retains some characteristics of the original, refreshed by aromatic and aquatic tones that give a certain dynamics to the fragrance. It opens with aquatic notes and rosemary, combined with the heart of cardamom and Sequoia wood. Patchouli and musk form the base.

The bottle retains the simple form of its predecessors. The design is intended to be lighter and more sporty, but still luxurious and elegant. The face of the fragrance is a model Adam Senn. The advertising was shot by Mariano Vivanco.

The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml EDT.

The One Sport was launched in 2012.

Nothing special. The use of the name “The One” here is just a marketing ploy to cash-in on the success of the original “The One”.
However, this is a decent, run-of-the-mill citrus-aquatic fragrance. Just another sporty fragrance.
The scent itself is not in the same category as Clinique Happy, Keno L’Eau, Issey Sport, or Chanel Allure Sport. So don’t get your hopes up.
Just another generic sport fragrance. Decent but generic.

This is the “sporty” version. No tobacco. Still sweet, generic cologne, though.
If you’re an undercover spy and want to blend in with the other mall shoppers, this could be indispensable to your disguise.

Comments about very poor longevity amaze me. For me it does last long, and I can feel it even days after on clothes. The smell is very nice and refreshing. Beautiful mix of aquatic notes and spices. Really love this scent! 🙂 Also one of the best sport fragrances. 8.8/10

DO NOT BUY ANY THE ONE SH*T WITHOUT TEST. I own the one EDT and this one has longevity issue, tried this one and same thing or even worst. D&G house it’s doing a bad job in terms of: projection, silage and/or performance. Smells good but pricy and does not last in any skin. Get away from all of them.

its the one that doesnt deserve the ONE line tag….such a beautiful bottle, perhaps the best looking bottle in that line, but the juice inside reminded me of ferrari scuderia red, which i got 5 years ago and never used so i gave to my friend, its really not anywhere near the other sport fragrances offered by designers, many people like it though, but longevity is an issue, this should be offered for not more than 15 usd, then it can be sold….its a No go for me..i have 8ml mini and i think ill just keep it in collection.

I ask myself every now and then as I remember buying this piece of disgrace: “What the hell were you thinking?”.
I think while trying other fragrances, another one stuck to my nose before trying out D&G The One Sport, so somehow I thought it was smelling good. Years after this is one of my biggest regrets, for paying to something this bad.
It doesn’t smell even as good as an Axe deodorant, seriously this juice is not even a dollar worth. Not even as a toilet scent. It’s watery, the most generic thing you can ever find and how come it got into a D&G bottle is beyond me.
DO NOT BUY THIS. EVEN FOR FREE IT WON’T GIVE YOU ANYTHING.

If I did not know better I would guess that this is a Dollar Store scent. Cheap, weak and not worth it

  8. :

Fresh, a little synthetic, but overall pleasant enough but not very interesting. Dry down has some pleasant wood notes.

  9. :

My bottle is just about done. Summer is starting to fade. I really like this scent but find it insulting that the performance is so weak. You can do better D&G.
Scent-A nice, aquatic, woody scent(sequoia). This is what I wear to do co-ed sports.
Season-summer time. Wear it to the beach or by the river.
Performance- one of the weakest scents I’ve ever encountered. I got it as a gift and would not buy it even though I enjoyed it. In 30 minutes it’s a skin scent. In about 1.5 hours it’s gone.

  10. :

I think this cologne smells clean and fresh, but it is also very generic. That in itself could be forgivable, but not its 30 minute longevity. I almost literally cannot smell this fragrance after 30 minutes. This is completely unacceptable for a fragrance from this house. I purchased this fragrance looking for a simple fresh scent for everyday use. I understand that sport colognes are light, but c’mon. You almost literally cannot overspray this stuff.

    Gym scent

  12. :

    3 out of 5

I can appreciate the scent in and of itself but there just isn’t many occasions when I want a fragrance to last 30min. 2hrs to leave out and run a few errands sure, but not 30min.
As others have stated and the description implies, this is for the gym and “designed” to be lighter. Touche D&G…I’ll wear it to the gym.

  13. :

It’s good but it doesn’t las t so long just one hour or 2 if you get lucky and then it just disappear…too weak for a great scent and a big brand..

Love this fresh, clean, sporty frag! Poor longevity but not intended to last a long time. Bought it as a blind buy after finding a great deal online. It’s become one of the few frags I’ll wear to the gym!!

  16. :

    4 out of 5

I workout in the gym regularly so I’m always on the lookout for good sport scents, the fragrances that are gym friendly and easy, non offensive, pleasing, fresh scents.
This is everything I just listed. It exceeded my expectations of it. It opens up with a great scent and it kinda hangs tight for a good little while, longer than the opening of most sport scents. I like it a lot.
Citrus fruit, clean, fresh water, sporty, reacts well to intense weight training and helps keep the mind rejuvenated and focused during a workout.

  17. :

    4 out of 5

I always have to laugh when people talk about fresh scents and get on the fence complaining about lack of performance. Fresh scents are fresh because they are more watery with a bit less perfume essences. Otherwise they wouldnt be called fresh. We are not talking gourmand! Sure we also have a few other fresh scents that perform little better but they are still weak incompare to other genres. Fresh scents are generally weaker. period.
This fragrance, is a wonderful smelling, light, easy and watery scent. Yes, like with most other fresh scents you need to apply more liberaly and if you think its still not enough, you simply have to carry an atomizer. Simple.

  18. :

    4 out of 5

As many others have said, the longevity and performance of this one is pretty weak. The smell is actually fairly pleasant but nothing ground breaking and you would have to tip the entire bottle over you to get good enough sillage!

  19. :

    4 out of 5

Garbage. Not worth more than 10 bucks.

  20. :

    4 out of 5

The worst performance ever. You spray it and before you are able to bring your nose closer to your skin to sniff it, it’s gone. Disappointment in a bottle is what this is.

  21. :

    5 out of 5

This smells like a aquatic ginger and nothing more. It’s a pretty bad fragrance for the price and performance. It reminds me of Exceptional Because You Are For Men. Better scents would be Ferragamo Free Time or L’homme Libre, or even better yet, buy Armani Code Sport which is similar with an added sharper mint vibe.

  22. :

    4 out of 5

So much hate for this! Why?!
I think the scent is fantastic and I get a lot of compliments with it. Although it is a generic “sporty” clean scent, I think this one shouldn’t get so much hate. It’s nothing to brag about or anything unique or special, but it does make a good simple, clean, active sport scent.
For whatever reason, I get “ok” longevity with this on my skin..about 3-4 hours.
It’s not a sexy scent, nor a lady killer…but it’s active and clean for that “I’ve just showered, and yes…I go to the gym a lot” vibe.
For this frag, you have to fit the profile to wear this. Either you have an active lifestyle and want to smell clean, this will work well for you. If you are non-active and don’t look sporty…you will come off as the guy who wears a lot of axe body spray and douchey.

This is a good flanker, I can’t believe the likes and dislikes are almost even, but IMO it is as it should be for a sport version, it lasted more than 7 hrs on me, I have no complains, although is not my favorite flanker for The One, but I don’t regret buying it.

  24. :

    4 out of 5

I love it! It’s so different and definitely warm spicy. I feel attractive whenever I wear this!

  25. :

    3 out of 5

stop hating and start seing this gem as what it is instead: such a nice all-day-usual-scent, like pure water just to refresh and feel clean, not really like a parfume, just pure cleaness. exactly what you want from a SPORT cologne!!! luv it on my BF when he´s working out

The One was a very nice oriental fragrance which would have been a masterpiece if it performed a bit better.. The One Gentlemen was also nice, and than you have The One Sport.. The One Sport is a Sport flanker to The One but it has very little to do with The One.. The One Sport opens up extremely bright, fresh, and invigorating with a huge blast of aquatic notes and a fresh herbal rosemary note.. The aquatic notes last throughout this entire fragrance.. Than you pick up a very fresh clean cardamom note and a faint woodiness from the sequoia.. The base is a very clean musk and a touch of patchouli which smells very nice in contrast with the fresh aquatic notes.. The patchouli and musk base add a slight dirty earthy musky vibe to this super clean scent which is interesting, and smells very nice.. Does The One Sport smell synthetic? Yes, but than again so does anything that is aquatic.. I am not big on Sport fragrances or aquatics but the scent of The One Sport is very pleasant to my nose.. I am not going to lie The One Sport smells very very good as does The One but they both have a very very weak performance, and it is such a shame because they both smell great! If only this fragrance performed better it would have probably been one of the best Sport fragrances on the market, but unfortunately it falls short..

I got this as a sample at sephora and after reading about it i was eager to see how bad the performance was and someone mentioned this is sport and is suppose to be worn when sweating to release the scent ions or something so i put it on and went to the gym and could barely smell it and soon after not anything at all. its honestly a nice cologne if it lasted 8 hours i would probably buy it but its just to worth it.

  33. :

I absolutely love this fragrance and don’t understand the flak it takes. People say its not original and generic, but I spent a good while looking for articles about what its similar to and there are none. The dry down is the best! The whole “The One” line isn’t very pleasing when you first spray it, but after 10-15 seconds it starts to come together and by a minute you’re in a good place. I’ve been looking for stronger batches, but I can’t find that information either.

A perfect middle-of-the-road-officescent! I like it, my co-workers like it. And to be honest, what´s not to like about this frag?!
    Paid 48 euros/54 $ for 100 ml. I think that´s a fair price.

  35. :

I agree with @encog21 this doesnt smell bad at all (smells actually nice imo (: ), but well looks like d&g was pretty economic with this one? Looks like 1% fragrance and 99% water to me huh lasts half an hour maximum, I have no explanation why d&g is doing that.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

This is how ignorant we are… if we read the description you understand that this cologne suits better active people. Meaning u have to sweat to activate tion and sillage. Otherwise it sits close to skin, making difficult to catch whiffs. Smh

Wow- so many negative reviews about a good cologne. I guess, as humans, we like to complain. This cologne is one of my top 5, with Versace Dreamer and the lighter Versace Man (not Fraiche). I would give it an 8.5 out of 10 easily. I get about 3-5 hours out of it I would estimate. I’m a 39 year old guy and have had compliments on this in the office and out at a bar or restaurant. Two weeks ago, I sat down at a bar and a girl, pushing half my age, leaned into me and said, “oh my god, you smell so good.. What are you wearing?” It’s a refreshing, sweet, but not overly sweet smell.

I tried this fragrance on a paper strip and I really disliked the scent … it smelled like your average generic sport fragrance but with a really sinister twist…. like a fresh blast on top of a fecal undertone.
It honestly reminded me of a public bathroom. Thank god it’s got awful longevity…
    Overall 1/10
    Not recommended. 🙂

    DURING WORKOUT FRAGRANCE
a friend gave to me some samples. scent is good, but poor longevity and sillage. but i realized that the right way to use it is in the gym, during workout. i think it’s the only fragrance that can be used in this way, so the one sport has a good reason to exist.

The scent is good. Aquatic and little synthetic. Perhaps, open the bottle cap and smell it 10 times a day rather than wearing it, coz just sits clinging to the skin for 1 hour or so. Dont waste mony on this. I am regetting.

Sorry, but this is one of the worse sports designer in the market right now.

Sportive versions exist in the perfumery market a long time ago. It seems to me that, since 2010, the companies started to improve a little bit this type of fragrances, because it was possible to perceive an improvement in the aroma and also in the durability of the majority that receives such name. If on the one hand there are a lot of criticism, on the other there is a benefit to people who live in extremely hot regions during all the year and need this type of scent on their shelves. And in Brazil, this type of audience is immense.
In this version from 2012, the D&G brand wanted to convey the Italian ideal, inherited from classical Greece to ancient Rome, in which sport is competition, celebrating the most genuine value between sport and life.
With hints of Rosemary and marine accord in the output, the fragrance won Mediterranean touch. At the heart, the same cardamom from previous versions, now sharing space with Sequoia wood. And in the base, notes of patchouli and musk.
As I wrote in my review for The One Gentleman, it’s been a while since I’ve been treating any flanker as a new fragrance to be added to a fragrance’s line. I only create greater expectations when dealing with lighter versions (Fraiche / Fresh) or intensive versions (Intense). In these cases, I always look forward to identify the DNA of the original version, either in a more refreshing or intensified way.
In this Sport version – the first released by D&G – I have not identified any relationship with The One for Men. This is a different fragrance, which is not innovative, but also not generic. The marine output works fine, doesn’t fade quickly and gives freshness. The aroma is delicious, but the heart that brings wood and spice together has failed. The base is stronger and the musk is quite present.
Oddly enough, it has good durability, passing the common 5 hours of the majority of the sport fragrances. Luckily, they didn’t keep the actor Matthew McConaughey in this campaign too, because it would be too much.
The bottle kept the visual identity of the line, now in transparent tones and with the details (neck and inscriptions) in red, almost a standard in sportive fragrances.

  46. :

A pleasant, sweet, herbal scent. The cardamom is what really makes this fragrance unique.
The longevity is only about 4 hours max, and spraying too much will give a headache from the sweetness. Even the matching deodorant loses its scent after a few hours.
Despite the quality ingredients, I will not be buying this fragrance again after I finish it. However, it makes for an excellent gift.

  47. :

    3 out of 5

I don’t know what D&G’s problem is, but they discontinue the good stuff and keep trash like this.
Even their new stuff isn’t worth looking at.
Everyone is SCREAMING for an inense version of The One for men, but the only thing we get is a restyled bottle with the same weak juice. Sorry D&G, but you’re irritating me.

In spite of the negative reviews i find The One Sport Dolce&Gabbana is a good freg , there is no WOW factor but like i said a good one with moderate Longevity & Sillage ( 2 – 3 ) hours.
    P.S. a n intense edition is recommended !

Justo another acuqatic, herbal-spicy scent. Lots of rosemary and calone until… WOW! the drydown in amazing! My guess is that whatever combination of synthetics they used to recreate “sequoia” combines excellently with the warm musk and the beautyfuly masculine patchouli.
Nothing special for at least 15 minutes. Absolute pleasure then on.
Highly recommended and a great compliment getter.

Sexy, clean, soapy. I used to really love this on a guy! The aquatic notes and rosemary are very prominent. Great basic men’s cologne.

  54. :

    3 out of 5

It comes in with a sorta fresh watery smell then suddenly a sharp smokey dirty smell like lighting a cigarette by the ocean. Tobacco like then gives into a musky manly sweat smell. Reminds me of a Mom and pop Pizza Parlor and a guy making the food is smoking a cig and wearing a strong musky cologne. The bread making and ranch dressing sitting is adding to the essence and blending into a sweet salty musky smell that is kinda heart warming since i used to go to places like this as a teenager. Drive my bike across town. But NOT something you wanna wear around people or someplace nice

  55. :

Another fresh, aquatic, metallic entry in this horrible category. I will be glad when this category dies. The only thing worse is Boss Energize. I had to scrub over and over to kill this odor. Aquatic trash.

Spicy aquatic with marked peppery green notes. Almost more herbal than aquatic, but still has that Mall Boy watery base. Okay, but dries with a sharply marked alcohol scent from the wood notes

Thumbs up for ‘The One Sport’ – Dolce & Gabbana
I went to the store and wanted to try dolce & gabbana’s ‘the One’ – out of mistake I tried ‘Sport’ and fell in love with it. It is light and slightly fresh (thus the aquatic notes) but at the same time slightly sweet. But not in a Tom Ford kind of sweet, but in a more gentle way.
    I loved it ever since.

I think The One Sport is a safe scent. Not too overpowering, a fair longevity 3-4 hours then its too close to skin.
I live in a hot area so I pretty much use it as a work fragrance.
For those who want a fragrance to get noticed, I think you go crazy on the trigger.
The One sport is perfectly fine, you may not smell it after an hour but those close to you will do for 4+ hours.

  63. :

On the first spray only one thought went through my mind…. DEODORANT. This is the absolute truth.
This frangrance is not in any way unpleasant, but it smells no different to stuff you can buy in ASDA for 2 or 3 pounds. The price tag is therefore ludicrous. It would be much more sensible to purchase a can of Lynx.

Went to the duty free and sprayed D&G The One Sport on my left wrist and Dior Homme Sport on my right wrist.
D&G top note was sweeter due to the aquatic and Dior top note was spicy and citrusy due to the ginger and lemons.
I’ll get to the base because I was so busy looking at other items at the duty free. I decided to buy the Dior but after 4 hours I can still smell the sweetnes of D&G and a little bit citrus from Dior. Both of them really smelled good and I regret not buying D&G. I really wish I bought the D&G also. I don’t get why alot of people are hating the D&G.
D&G Sport and Dior Sport are both nice smelling.

    MY RATING: 8.5/10

  69. :

    5 out of 5

I find this scent neither boring nor cheap. The only issue with this stuff is the “sport” name. That being said, The One Sport is a fruity-aquatic and inoffensive type of fragrance intended to provide freshness and happy emotions to those who wear it. Clearly it won’t compete with other sport flankers such as Dior Homme or Chanel’s Allure but it has potential to become a good choice when it comes to fresh zesty scents. I like it and I’ll buy it.

  70. :

    5 out of 5

I believe this isn’t worth the review, but i thought it might help ppl decide on reviews.
Briefly, this is so artificial and synthetic that i only smelled the musk in the end, all the rest are mediocre, this IS a mediocre perfume and a shame to be of the ONE series.
Yet, this can be one of the fragrances that smells nice to women, may be sexy, reminds me a little of HOT WATER Davidoff, i got the later as a gift and no one liked it except women, but honestly this ONE Sport isn’t even well blended as HOT WATER.

  71. :

Actually read many of the reviews on here before I tried this again as it wasn’t particularly memorable the first time.
I think that says it all really…however I reckon the criticism waged at this fragrance in the reviews here is unfair.
For me I don’t just think it’s a cheap smelling flanker but I’m not sure The One needed a ‘sport’ version, I saw it as a classy night time scent.
Surprisingly it actually has all the depth of the original but in a completely different sense.
Give it a chance it’s not bad.

Wore this today, an easy-going summer Sunday, as a change from my summer signature and wonder why I ever bought it, aside from the cheap price.
Smells like something used to freshen the bathroom porcelain, or washing up liquid, but not something to impress people with.
Looking forward to washing it off the next morning (if the longevity even makes it into the night) and then Ebaying my bottle of it.
The cap slips off the bottle too easily as well.

Very generic, smells like any common deodorant. not my type of fragrance. poor longevity and projection 4/10 (All ‘The One’ flankers are bad. but the original is great)

This one smells like Axe click. I’m not kidding, go test for yourself and you will see.
I myself would rather buy Axe click than this because it even smells better and is way cheaper.
Do not waste your money on this!

Smells like a sexy man sweating, pheromones and all. I. Love. It.

Fragancia fresca y varonil!! por eso se nombra SPORT, porque es ligera y suave!! no se por que tanto comentario negativo? pero bueno, es cuestión de gustos!!
    8/10 para D&G.

Not sure why there are so many negative comments about it. To me it is a really pleasant scent. However, D&G fall short when it comes to longevity, and it is way overpriced.

I just tried this today and I’m thoroughly disappointed. I loved The One, it was the first real cologne I bought once I went to college and decided anything that comes in an aerosol can your stupid friends can turn into makeshift flamethrowers was not the best thing to use as a fragrance.
The One was a great cologne, if only they ever listened to their customers who want an EDP. Instead, D&G keeps making other things and slapping “The One” brand on it, which is ruining its reputation. The only thing it really has in common is that the scent doesn’t last long and has hardly any sillage.
This is a sport cologne, I get it. However, it’s a boring sport cologne that literally has no impact on me. I fail to notice anything worth spending 65-80 bucks on it other than it says D&G on the bottle. I’m biased against sport colognes because I find they all smell the same, and this didn’t break the mold for me at all. If you want a mediocre sport cologne, buy something cheaper. If you want a good sport cologne, then look elsewhere, because The One Sport is not it.

Generic and unidentifiable. Typical from D&G…But having said that, it is a pleasing summer scent. Not offending, fresh, and clean. Not worth the insane price tag, but pick yourself up a used bottle on ebay or in a swap if you can 🙂

Love the smell , but the longevity is really poor. About 2 hrs . Also it costs so high.

I like it!! Smells similar to armani code sport but w a twist and doesn’t have the signature armani scent! I do like it. I live sort colognes. It isn’t too strong but that’s what I expect in a sports cologne bc I don’t wana be overpowered by a scent when working out . I like this. Use it a lot, good summer fragrance .

This perfume smells great..very fresh! I bought it for the smell only. The longevity is between 2-4 hours and the sillage is poor..you can feel it on your skin 7 hours or so but very very weak.
I recommend to use it for what it was build: sport and daily activities..so 2 to 4 hours is enough especially if you go to gym.
Be carefull..some people may have headaches from this fragrance if you apply more spray for extra longevity (the musk is “THE ONE” to blame :)) )

Projection is above average. Longevity is great on my skin. Easily reach 7 hours. Patchouli and sea notes on the top notes are great. Very cooling and refreshing..

There is no doubt that this is a fresh fragrance with bouyant, energetic top notes accompanied by the aroma of Italian rosemary.
The middle and base notes are poorly concentrated, difficult to recognise, reminiscent of cheap copy perfumes, certainly to be avoided.
Presented as a gift it will be used.

    this perfume is simply
    1)for summer
    2)for day
    3)everyday use kinda perfume
    4)appeals to girls
    5)men under 30
    enough said.

I bought this cologne because I had owned one other D&G cologne (Light Blue), and I thought I’d give their sport brand a try. I like the smell a lot, but it doesn’t last very long. It doesn’t emit very well. I spray it before going to the gym so I don’t smell like sweat, but when I leave the gym I only smell sweat and not the cologne.
    Pros: Great Scent
Con: Doesn’t last very long at all

This only sells for the Dolce & Gabbana name splashed across the bottle. That is the sole reason it even sold more than a 100 bottles. If it were something made by Avon or Coty, those companies would’ve gone out of business.
I don’t mind synthetic notes cause let’s face it almost all fragrances are made of synthetic components. However, this is the dullest and THE most generic ‘aromatic’ scent that I’ve ever smelt. It would’ve been forgiven if it even lasted to carry on that dullness to the next 10 minutes; but it disappeared after a minute and a half – like I never even sprayed it on. I cannot give you the note breakdown because there wasn’t any and it did not last beyond two minutes for me dissect it.
Go crazy on the spray, take a D&G The One Sport shower…I can assure you it won’t last even 2 minutes on skin or on clothes. Another half-assed fragrance from my least favorite house.
If you’re a D&G fanboy, spend the 65-80 dollars on this but the money would’ve been a better waste on something else.

…sniffed today and loved it, thinking of getting for my boyfriend as a christmas gift. very clean, fresh and easy to use. i think, a fragrance like this can be worn both on a business meeting and a gym session.. it leaves a very sophisticated and sensual notes after a while..

Why all the hate on here? This is a light, nice smelling scent that sneaks up on you and the women around you. Very suitable to hot weather or after a workout or your evening shower prior to settling down with your lady. I consider this a “staying in” cologne rather than a “going out one” but that doesn’t mean it fails to do its job.

I got this as a gift, and its an okay scent. i wear this to the gym and i get compliments. If you have this one Wear it on a hot and humid day and it will last all day and it will project a lot more.

I think the scent itself is very good, a sport scent with a shot of elegance in it… it does not resemble DHS or Armani sport so it should not be compared to those. This is in its own league, where a sport fragrance is meant to be worn after a big game or once you leave the gym. Afterall, it is called the one sport. Very good!

i own the one sport and light blue. the one sport is clean and light but it has weak projection and sillage. light blue works better on me. the one sport is also very expensive..

I got a blotter some days ago. I’m in Argentina and we are just about to finish winter, so I understand that we do not have the most suitable weather for the whole army of sport fragrances which arrived from the north. I didn’t smell anything new on this one, but I got attracted to it. Maybe the fact that I like strong fragrances makes me feel curious about this discreet sc
