Description
“A journey on the Mimosa from Wales to Patagonia.
May 1865. 153 Welsh emigrants set sail on an old converted tea clipper, the Mimosa, bound for the rugged wilds of Patagonia. With dreams of establishing a new settlement, they arrived in Porth Madryn after a voyage of 7,000 miles. Generations later, their journey still bears an indelible imprint on the region that became their new home.
Inspired by the Welsh settlers’ torta negra (black cake), Teisenddu is a fragrant celebration of Welsh tradition fused with the arid landscape of Patagonia. Warm spices, bitter orange and juniper greet the senses like a cozy Welsh tearoom. A delicious heart of dried fruit and nuts is macerated in rum and enveloped by honeyed mimosa, while an intriguing blend of leather and dark sugar crystals completes the recipe, lingering like warm memories shared over a cup of black tea. An unforgettable new scent.” – a note from the brand.
Teisenddu was launched in 2018. The nose behind this fragrance is Roxanne Kirkpatrick.

Sweet boozy orange.
Sugary sweet oranges with booze on the side. It’s candied, bitter, & bit spicy. The colder the more leather as it turns into a soft leather blend.
It has some similarities with “A Fuego Lento” but this is more sweet and with no balsamic notes. Very good.

Oh my… I just don’t know where to start..
This is definitely my BEST blind buy. I had the sample set from Frassai already and loved their style, so decided to go va bank and get the full bottle of their 1st edition.
My bottle numbered “8” had just arrived. I sprayed twice and instantly got a very pleasant smell of sugary orange – as I make my own condiments, including grinded orange peel mixed with sugar, I am very familiar with this smell, and I love it, as it is citrusy bitter sweet, but nothing synthetic like in common cleaners or pastries made with vanilin.
Perfume shifts to a very pleasant peppery (not listed, but I swear I smell pepper) and juniper-y leather, VERY sophisticated and pleasant to wear. I must admit, juniper was the note I was afraid of, as I don’t like smelling it longer than 5 minutes, it is just way too cold for me (and on me) and reminds me of a coctail I got very sick of :)) So it is very personal.
Here, juniper smells peppery and SO good, very delicate, not overwhelming at all.
It is definitely a warm scent, but not hot, rather comforting warm, that soon cools down a bit to mid 70′ in Farenheit (or pleasant 25-26C).
No notes are too prominent here, which I love, as the last thing I want is to smell like one particular note. It is a very well composed art in a bottle. Call it a leather scent, a gourmand fragrance, but it is very diferent from what one can find on the shelves (and thank God!)
I wish you could smell it on my skin, it is so damn sexy…. 🙂
