Description

Edition for men Amouage Sunshine Men joins women’s version Amouage Sunshine Women in July 2015 by creating fragrant pair inspired by warmth of sunrays. Bright yellow flacon for women is not repeated in the version for men, but the men’s edition receives characteristic glass flacon made of transparent glass with a white cap and engraved Amouage logo on the central part of the bottle. What is characteristic of the edition for men are sunrays in golden color drawn on the front side to create the Sun together with Amouage logo.

Composition of the fragrance AMOUAGE SUNSHINE MEN opens with yellow flowers of immortelle, aromatic lavender and juicy, intoxicating blend orange brandy. The heart highlights bergamot, juniper berries and clary sage on a base of cedar, tonka and vanilla. Warm effect of sunrays comes from a sensual union of immortelle, orange brandy, luminosity of bergamot zest while warm milky-tobacco shades are left by tonka and vanilla. Aromatic notes convey atmosphere of the coast and richness of shades in sea air.
The fragrance is available as 100ml Eau de Parfum.

I have done a complete U-turn on this. Where I hated this when it first came out, revisiting it a few years later, I am seriously taken with it… I don’t understand it but it’s creating some kind of solidity aura where I feel this strange strength wearing it and the aroma reminds me that things will be just fine!
I am not ashamed to say that this is unique and you will find nothing like it on the market which indeed makes it special. This is the first time I am reminded that scent is not about people pleasing but pleasing your own senses. I just sprayed this because I felt this deep urge to spray it again after smelling it on my night clothes.
I am amazed how my own views have changed about it. This could be a new love… The way it’s bracing me, oh damn… Mmmm…. This is what I expect form niche fragrances!

Sunshine Men is a lovely, easy to wear, and versatile fragrance. I personally enjoy all the developmental phases of Sunshine Men. However, the creamy, sweet, spicy, and citrusy dry down of Sunshine Men is masculine and wonderful.
Sunshine Men can be worn year round, but may be better suited for summer evenings. Performance is solid and will yield a good 10 hours, before the cologne dials down to being a close proximity scent.

I tried it in store, let it settle, liked it and thought it reminded me of Spicebomb Extreme. I was ready to order a bottle around Christmas … however when I said spicebomb to someone else they thought no way and suggested I’d sprayed another amouage …. confused! Anyone else pick up on a vibe akin to spicebomb?

I like it-i get mostly the orange, immortelle and vanilla. But from what i’ve smelled from the house my favorite is Jubilation.

The unlisted vetiver in this seems to be throwing many. Beautiful citrus scent backed up with florals; spiced, slightly creamy. Outstanding, unique, warm weather release from Amouage.

For me too, this is very close to Eau Noire.
But something in it made me nauseous. Not in this one !
It is slightly boozy, the lavender is very present, which is good for me.
It leans to the sweet side (tonka) but is masculine enough for me.
As someone wrote, it has some kind of a polarizing effect.
    Would suit almost any occasion.
It is the first Amouage that I really like. But I would not wear it.

I don’t understand some people’s reviews on fragrances lol, this juice is amazing and sunshine man is a perfect name for this, bright, orangy, perfect fragrance, it’s not an older men’s fragrance , the women love this one on me, say I smell like sweet tarts candy , which it does smell like , excellent longevity and projection

    Polarizing juice here
You get a raw and heady patchouli, Masculine floral accord and overall yellow aromatic. The florals or some aspect of the fragrance becomes musky, which makes this fragrance weird for me.
It is uncommon, but not original too. I wonder if knize Gold and others like this sell well
Anyways, this is not the kind of fragrance you blind buy and does not go over well with many men, but it could work for you.
After the opening I despise, it becomes a rather pleasant resin and patchouli fragrance that gives of the impression of wealth or a fragrance symbolizing gold.
Fair projection, good sillage and 8 hours longevity
If you are younger than 35, I suspect you will dislike this
I don’t understand the name or vision for this fragrance personally

It is the man version of this that I’ve got a decant of. It was only when I went to get Amouage’s Gold a while back that I realised that a large section of Amouage perfumes is segregated into the man and woman versions. It was the man version I got then. I’ve picked-up the impression by looking around here that I don’t need to hedge a great deal about that, but that if the matter is pushed it can lead to fierce debates. I can understand why to many people, particularly in the United States, it is a highly incendiary matter, as there is a relatively high probability there that any given person at least knows someone who has made life-changing decisions to do with it; for which reason I am not with yelling this-phobic or that-phobic, or any other pejorative of that kind, at someone merely because their angle seems more traditional. But far as perfumes go, TBPH I utterly disregard whether a fragrance is for man or woman.
I have liked this for a long time, and chose it readily when I was offered a decant of my choice a while back in Selfridges boutique, having just reminded myself at the counter what it’s like. So it’s lavender & orange-brandy, is it! I don’t think I would ever have guessed, for all my having been trying for so long to do so. I’m sorry in a way to have scuppered the mystery! This is one of those truly unique fragrances that I mention in a still-prominent thread on Amouage perfumes. It really does conjure the idea of sunshine whereas Tom Ford’s Orchid Soleil does not. I think that latter fragrance is an excellent one – but simply does not conjure sunshine-idea, as is its purport that it should. But this one does!
Yep! This is one of those cases of reading the notes-list, & it just totally fits with my liking it so much. As for the musk-amber component that I’m always so fussy about – this is one of those instances of its just being there by default – and copiously so as well.
    @OmarAladdin
No need for any patience in my case – all that turned me on to it instantly!
    @miggs80
To me, yours is the most positive review of them all! And I kind-of agree with you!
    @wimplo22
Do you mean the Elizabeth Arden perfume? If so, I thought that also! – not exactly boozed up– but somehow taken to higher plane.
I’ve seen a couple of reviews, just scanning over them, that have the word “pie” in them. I suspected myself before seeing these that there might be just a tad of one of those baked-stuff-type notes in this, as clearly there is in Orchid Soleil also, forall its not being listed.
Now quite awhile after I wrote this, I feel I must say that it is not quite as unique as I imply it is here – in that Annick Goutal’s Nuit Etoilée transpires very similar to it in a certain way, by which I mean that there is a certain core or signature that they have in common.

Do not be judgmental. Use it before you hate it, that is the most unique lavender blend you could ever come across.
Sweet Lavender, smoky, green, that’s what might turn you off upon first trial but be patient and you will be addicted, promise.

Very pleasant and natural. It’s something I like very much to sense. Maybe like perfume it’s not very good – people can think you just chewing bubble gum but I definitely like it. Very good longevity and sillage unlike some remastered old previously good Amouage scents.

Just a little bit too much lavender and when smelt up close the clary sage really does add an unpleasant almost borderline curry territory presence.. Actually that’s a lie, about the lavender it’s an overdoes in the opening but when that finally dissipates and the clary sage goes back into the kitchen it’s a decent, not overly sweet, very slightly boozy with a hint of mild rum and that almost maple effect from the immortele , really makes the vanilla pop in the drydown. I also do pick up the orange vibe in the background as well. A more mature scent for the colder weather that gets better when it’s dried right down.

this smells sharp and fresher than other amouages. i get ripe pineapple notes here and there, but not listed. took hours to polarize. very lasting and high sillage.
the dry down is bit woody/incense but not dominant. get it if you can. i love sunshine very much.
Amouage perfumes are to be appreciated and experienced, not just smell it. you dont get its gist if you treat it like ordinary designers’ mainstream perfumes. remember this is niche!

This recalls the original Dolce Gabanna pour homme with lots of
vanilla added. Their notes are quite similar too. I just love this. Will be great for a cooler spring when the sun’s out.

I have been testing Sunshine all day today, applied three times total. While there is a lot of beautiful things going on there, tonka bean and vanilla in this concentration make it too much for me. I don’t believe I oversprayed (still have more than a half of the carded sample), but before it starts fading away, it’s cloying, almost aggressively sweet. There have been moments when I thought I could wear it, but after this full day I’d say I pass.
After quite a few Amouage fragrances I have tested so far (some more than once), Jubilation XXV is still my favorite, followed by Interlude and Myths (all men’s versions).

First off, love bugsyiii’s review. Yes, this has become my signature scent. I love the amouage line but this one in particular defines the brand, minus the traditional incense offerings. Looks to be a new era on the horizon. I’ll wear this for the nice weather and Black Afgano for overcast.

  18. :

    4 out of 5

Amouage’s Sunshine has a polarizing beginning that may have put off a lot of people hence some of the negativity towards it. All the notes are perceptible in equal proportions to give off a chaotic rubber-like smell within the first half hour. However, the magic happens as the dust settles!
The fragrance morphs into a delicious creamy boozy concoction that gets better and better. Sunshine Man does not possess the bombastic performance of earlier creations by Amouage but you will get noticed (and in a positive way).
Sunshine Man is definitely a try before you buy (like anything else, I guess). Nevertheless, a polarizing scent is usually better than a non-descript (meh) one. If you are the kind of person with a divisive taste (and, maybe, character), it is likely you will appreciate if not enjoy Sunshine Man.
    8.5/10!

This fragrance features the very best of Lavender available for our senses! I haven’t come across yet any fragrance that contains this high quality Lavender. Lovers of Caron pour Homme may actually experience what the lavender should have been. The good thing here is that the lavender stays present the entire duration of the fragrance. The first half hour is actually the best of the composition, after that the booziness of the highly overdosed Iso-e-Super takes the fragrance into a overly sweet juice. It is best smelled from a distance. i gave it many tries, but except for the immaculate lavender there is no justification to own a full bottle of sunshine.

Exit the stereotyped lavender smell of soapy laundry. We are in the presence of the lavender I love to grow in summer: herbaceous, sharp-green, slightly minty, slightly camphoraceous. It also has a little of the smell found in sage, a combination of menthol-like herb & sweat! I can understand why some may have found this fragrance offensive. If you are already familiar with those aromas found in nature, if you do some gardening, you might experience it on another level.
A strong opening that will live for a loooong time. Will follow smoothly a mixture of booziness & sweetness, Orange brandy supposedly, but the impression I have is of eggnog or crème anglaise (comparison also found in Kafkaesque review on his blog). Think milk, vanilla and rhum, fine spirits or liquor.
This fragrance is elevated on the classic standard spicy lavender & vanilla found in Caron pour un Homme, more recently Kilian’s A Taste of Heaven, but Sunshine has that addition of more herbaceous notes. It is also more complexe & dense. The sweetness found in Sunshine never becomes too gourmand. Even in the dry down there is still room for what was first experienced in the opening. Longevity is around 10-12 hours with 2 sprays. Beware of overspraying if you wanna keep your family, friends or collegues!
I love Sunshine, first release in Amouage’s Midnight Flower collection (then came Bracken & Beach Hut). I am fascinated by this dense & complexe mixture. The unlove from the Amouage family, maybe, but if you love the true smell of lavender or if you want to discover a slightly gourmand barbershop… you might be in for a treat!

So I took a chance (as I have done so many times before) and blind bought this fragrance, and here is what I think:
This is a very different arrangement of sweet vanilla and limey green(s)/spices (not forest green)…not sure if I have ever come across anything like Sunshine Man. It is as if someone mixed Reflection Man’s sweetly florals with Beloved Man’s spiciness and Interlude’s spicy Oregano and voila, out comes Sunshine Man!!
Initial spray; Orange and Bergamot, yes faint Lavender, a liqueur vibe and the booziness it provides along with Juniper berries. The Cedar (wood) begins to emerge slowly as the sharp green(s) [almost piney] settles, with some camouflaged sweetness that accompanies. This, I think comes from the Brandy (liqueur).
In addition to the aforementioned, I also get an ENORMOUS dose of vanilla but with an herbal bent that is front and center as the fragrance settles. There is a sweet pineapple/coconuty (although not listed in the note breakdown) woodiness that I detect in the dry down as the fragrance settles that’s really beautiful!
So the bottle’s design suggests hot, sunny, bright, beach, fun…although I get a sunny vibe, there is this coolness that I conjure; a coolness that suggests frost, being able to see the air coming out of my mouth while standing outside in the snow! (I am not sure why this image comes to mind but it works-maybe because I live in the Midwest and it is cold—Arghhh!!).
After about 15 minutes or so, I am beginning to get less sharpness however, more of a bubblegum candish-like aroma..
(…so the green vibe begins to take a back seat and the sweet, spicy, woodiness starts to emerge.)
This fragrance is starting to make a statement: Sunshine Man is starting to SHINE! This fragrance is edgy, brash, but also evocative and pronounced!
After about 30 minutes….after the top notes have produced and Sunshine Man has reached the fragrances’ mids, I believe you are left with a NICE spice laden, spicy floral composition with some woodsy tones that is less pungent than its start however, more sweetly vanillic in its end.
I think Sunshine will take me a few wears to decide what I concretely think of it. However, this offering is very different than what this brand {Amouage} normally presents…a few superlatives: Creative, evocative, unique, edgy, and conspicuous, just to suggest a few! Someone mentioned that this fragrance is one that is an acquired taste…I second that.
As for gender, some have mentioned this to be too sweet therefore feminine. In my honest opinion, this fragrance is definitely masculine all the way! I can see the sweetness understood to think on the onset-feminine, however it is a sweetness combined with cedar that not only gives this fragrance balance but is the driving force behind this masculine gem! Again, not sure if I would label this a feminine fragrance.
Season; I can see this shining in the colder months, summer maybe…we’ll just have to wait and see! This is (IMHO) a special occasion kind of a fragrance; not your typical signature scent!
    Performance: 8/10
    Longevity: 9/10
Silage: 10/10 ***If you over spray, you run the risk of overdose for oneself and others. ***This fragrance carries with it a HUGE scent cloud!
Projection: 10/10 (3 sprays carries ENORMOUS projection!)
    Overall: 9/10
    UPDATE:
So, after giving this time to settle on my skin for the day, Concretely, this is a lovely fragrance! I have gone back over and over again to this fragrance for the past 2 days and I am so intrigued! I just can’t get enough of smelling my wrist.
A very intoxicating fragrance to say the least!! GORGEOUS!

I have to try it again because yesterday , I felt the impression that it isn´t for me .
It resembles a lot to Eau Noire , which I like for the touches of coffee and licorice , probably something darker for the leather and without so much everlasting , that although it doesn´t declare it , it smells , I don´t know if this is by mixing the other notes or it’s just that is in the formula .
I feel this Amouage rougher since the opening . The everlasting , lavender and sage make it super herbal and pungent . I don´t notice much orange liqueur , neither in the beginning nor in the end .
Fortunately , overtime, this wild opening is softened by the combination of vanilla and tonka , which gives an aroma very much to my liking . Tonka is usually described as nuances of vanilla , blond tobacco , grass … and the truth is that it gives a very interesting and quality counterpoint but the bad thing for me is that the evergreen ( which can sometimes remember the curry and also to the urine ) in conjunction with lavender ( which according to JCE also has a slight smell of urine ) are still dominant and I end up getting saturated and tired a little .
Before anybody comes accusing me of saying that Sunshine smells like pee … no , it doesn´t , but we already know that this yellow flower sometimes is not liked by everyone and we also know that it has a lot of personality and character .
The performance is very very high . I sprayed it yesterday at 7:15 pm and today at 11:00 am I still felt even though I just took only a spray on each hand´s back .
In fact , now at 2:30 p.m. if I stick my nose to my hand , it still smells , very soft obviously . In fabric I suppose it will be eternal , people already said it of Sables Vintage and HDP 1740 .

This is not your typical Amouage, nonetheless it’s a very beautiful and alluring fragrance. Start with a sharp spicy lavender note and settle it to a calm relaxing scent in no time. You will get a slightly boozy (probably due to orange brandy) lavender with vanilla/tonka sweetness. Balance of these 4 ingredients are perfect. You can’t pick up a single note and say one ingredient is more prominent than the other. I think they have done a great job here blending all the ingredients together to create a certain aura. However this is not complex like most of the Amouages, it’s very linear from start to end, not a bad thing when something smell so good like this.
Actually I’m not a fan of lavender, I even didn’t have any intention to try Sunshine man b’coz it’s a lavender based fragrance. Received this as a free sample when I purchased another fragrance. But now I’m completely addicted and proudly own a full bottle of this beauty. This is a good lesson not to judge a perfume just from looking at the ingredient itself. I sure have missed a lot of gems thanks to my this stupid theory.
Based on the name (Sunshine) it seems be to targeted as a summer fragrance, but I think you can wear it in cold weather as well, it’s a very comforting and warm scent. Performance is typical Amouage, it will last a good 10 to 12 hours with good projection. I noticed that the price of most Amouage new releases are too steep, almost close to double. I’m afraid their all the future release will follow this trend. Anyway I managed to strike a good deal for this beauty.

A boozy ray of sunshine…I love it. Tonka bean is one of my favorites. Having said that, this will not be for everyone. It’s not the citrus scent that you usually associate with “sunshine”. It’s more like a liquored-up sunflower. Try before you buy.

  27. :

    5 out of 5

Very odd and strong scent. Nothing to compare with. I own a full 100ml but i’m not really satisfied. Start is a bright yellow flowers and immortelle that i barely accept in my everyday life.
It’s a ray of sun in a chaotic and decadent world like a radiation ray from a strange ufo you cant avoid. Top notes are crazy. Crazy. It strikes your nose, it makes you thirst. Strong and strange. Yellow sandpaper: that’s the best imagine i can get you.
Better after 1 hour when orange comes up from the yellow shining and arid landscape. Amouagey mood is dead in sniffing it, i suppose.
    I’m chocked after a 8 months use.
It has power, projection and a wow sillage. It could cover up a whole tip.
Try it before to buy it. Probably you’ll not like it.
    Probably.

My favorite scent of my entire collection. It hits all the right marks for me. Sunshine opens up with a very strong lavender note. The first couple minutes I do get a little of a cleaning product smell, but it goes away, and turns into something amazing. The scent starts to become sweeter with an almost orange syrupy smell with the lavender there. This last for the first 2-3 hours, but then the scent begins to showcase the vanilla and tonka. This is when the lavender begins to go completely to the background, and I’m left with this amazing orange vanilla powdery smell for the rest of the duration. I get about 8-10 hours longevity, and it projects for the first 3(4 max) hours then sits close to the skin. It’s not a beast, but that’s what I like about it. It’s not gonna overwhelm everyone in the room. I will say that this scent is not for everyone. It’s very very sweet, and people may not like that opening lavender note. When very first sprayed this stuff is pretty potent. This is also not like other Amouages.
    Rating:9.5/10
The only negatives are that this is not a crowd pleaser, and the projection could last a bit longer.

  29. :

    5 out of 5

Absolutely disgusting. Smells like a bunch of pulled up weeds that have been sitting in a barrel for several weeks and it’s insanely potent. Definitely not a crowd pleaser at all. I understand the idealism of a fragrance being artistic but this is flat out disgusting.

  30. :

    5 out of 5

On the very first spray I did not like it. As a matter of fact the first 5 minutes I was really not that crazy about it. But, after wearing it for about 20 to 30 minutes the scent turns into a sweet creamy orangesicle type of vanilla smell. It actually ends up being very nice. But, it takes some time.
I love what it turns into. The longer it sits the better it gets. But, there is a note in the first five minutes that is off putting to my nose.
If you like vanilla and sweet scents this is perfect, but you have to be patient. This is a fragrance that transforms into something nice.

  31. :

    5 out of 5

This is extremely pleasant. The Tonka bean- vanilla is accentuating the citrus aspects and giving them a dark creamy edge. This fragrance hits you with an ozonic approach at first the same way an onion does when cut but in an oddly satisfying way. It gets much nicer as it dries down. Possibly the best in the amouage class

  32. :

    5 out of 5

Smells like Orange cream biscuits. I do not get any sunshine vibe from this. It is suitable for cold weather conditions. A must try for gourmand lovers.
I personally cannot imagine wearing this one. Feels juvenile.
But I like the way the house of Amouage is trying to hit all genres instead of just focusing on Incense.
    Projection: 9/10
    Longevity: 12+ hrs.

The first time I smelled this on paper I got the biggest smile. I couldn’t believe how pleasant and joyful this smell was. It’s the kind of smell we long for as perfume amateurs constantly searching for our undiscovered favorite smells. I immediately asked for a sample and tried it on for 2 weeks. Unsurprisingly I then purchased a full bottle, along with Lyric Man. I love the house of Amouage.
Friends, make sure to get Amouage bottles that are made in Oman. It’s written on the back of the box. The ones made in UK have much weaker performances.

  34. :

A bizarre synthetic concoction of cloying sweet and green notes. Immediately off putting at first, but then intriguing later. Well blended but I disliked for now until I actually wear it a bit instead of the paper test. My mom said it smells like bug spray deet which is covered up with some fragrance. I guess I’m just not ready yet, for Sunshine Men!
    EDIT
Ok so after spraying a small amount on and going out I found Sunshine Men to be pretty good when I got wafts of it. Funny enough, when I smelled it, I was reminded of the smell of sunshine. So this really needs to be warn on the body and not judged by only paper testing.

As we know, there are many different levels through fragrance journeys. It’s like anything else taken seriously in our lives. Some of us wish to expand our minds and even step out our comfort zones in order to learn and appreciate the artistry of pufumery. Once getting to that level, we can understand the multi layers of Sunshine Man and Amouage. This is another reason why Amouage is my favorite niche brand because of its desire to take chances that work. Sunshine Man is not a “panty dropper”. But its like wearing a fine watch that only the people who understand will know that this plain watch with a leather band is worth $30,000. Most people won’t know. I admit that the opening is strong and can be a little off putting. But after you allow the dry down, you will begin to enjoy a hint of brandy, with some orange, and a little vanilla. Just like a fine cigar! Maybe that’s not your lifestyle and maybe you want to hit the Vegas strip and go clubbing. This is not that fragrance….

The strangest personal notes and public opinions ever received!
First whiff from a UK made batch made me puke (not really, but it was a ghastly fragrance). Tried the Oman version and it was love love and more love.
I can only smell a traditional local dish off this one and it’s ‘Cooked Pineapple’ which is used as a curry for eating rice.
    The dish is made with
    ripe pineapple,
    mild spices
and a hint of sugar to taste.
Its like putting my head into the cooking cauldron and sniffing it deep,
and I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
But everyone I ask to sniff my arm says that it smells like an Indian Incense stick… and they say it’s nothing special.
So now I realized how perfumes smell different for each person and now I don’t care if it’s meh for the whole universe, I love my pot of cooked pineapple. Best Summer Fragrance EVER!
ALWAYS PUTS A SMILE ON MY FACE.

It took me some time to appreciate this one. The opening is definitely a little unusual, but you have to wait about 20 minutes or so and at that point it turns into a nice creamy and very unique scent. I think most people on here are way too quick to judge this one, as this is def one that you need to spend some time with in order to really understand it. The drydown several hours later actually transforms quite a bit on my skin, and it ends up smelling like a completely different fragrance. I have picked up a bottle and plan to wear this frequently during the spring and fall. I may wear it during the summer but probably during cooler summer nights only. I feel like this may end up being a little too cloying in the high summer heat.
All in all, I know this is extremely unusual and I can see why many people have the opinion that Amouage rushed this fragrance to the market, but I really don’t think so. I get that it’s strange and has a certain offputting quality to it especially during the opening, but just give this juice a decent chance and I think many of you will really grow to appreciate this stuff.
Also: when I first sampled Bracken Man I thought it smelled okay but nothing to write home about. But of course, like what almost always happens, I kept smelling it over and over during a period of several weeks, and Bracken is now on my “to buy list”. I really admire Amouage’s attempt at doing something different and unique compare to their other more incense-based fragrances (which BTW I love!). I think that people just need to give Amouage a chance with this new angle that they are pursuing.

I’m sorry. I have quite a few from this house and for the most part, I love them. However, this is way too sweet in my opinion and I could not see myself wearing this at all. A definite pass for me.
    3/10 – Only because it’s original.

Sunshine from Amouage is a difficult fragrance to love cause it is very unique and complex. It is clearly more mainstream than the darker Amouages, but nevertheless a daring scent. It has many layers.
You can smell the quality of the lavender blended masterfully with a cocktail of orange brandy and vanilla that has a caramelized, almost roasted aspect. Definitely signature-scent worthy, better in the spring/summer.

@Andrewluck1990,loved your review and decided to give it ago after a disappointing first try of this scent, first time I tried it was shocked at its unusual top smell!the dry down was better but for me after trying this fragrance for a few days I just can’t seem to enjoy it,I find it a bit heady for me and something in it just won agree with my nose!definitley a long a lasting smell and I can see why people adore this fragrance!very niche and sophisticated smell!

I love this scent. It’s so not ordinary, and it stands out away from the “generic” fragrances. Amouage is just amazing to me. While my favorite is still Myths, I had to buy this one after testing it. It’s very fresh, and yet it’s got that hint of spice. The tonka bean and vanilla gives it that warmth I just love. Very nice smell indeed, but probably not for everyone.
For me it lasts all day, and the sillage is a bit beyond arms length.

You gotta hand it to Amouage, you’d think that with a name like Sunshine Man that they would go the same old route and go heavy with citrus/ginger/light floral notes or go aquatic/calone. Sure, there’s bergamot and supposedly orange in there but it seems muted.
If you’re looking for a warm weather scent that is “sparkling”, bright or sharp then you might be disappointed.
Sunshine is going with Tonka beans and rather toned down florals like immortelle and a dry lavender.
I think the brandy gives it a syrupy sweet side that may turn off some folks. Also, because of the immortelle it might even come across as rather medicinal so keep that in mind.
For what Amouage costs the projection off of my skin falls way too short and so does the life of this juice. I’m glad I only got myself a decant, I suggest the same for you unless you’re an Amouage fan club member.

It is a shame that generic freshies are lauded while daring fragrances that step outside the box receive so much hate. On the other hand, I like being the only person I know who wears this.
This isn’t for everyone; it’s not a catchy chart topping song that you hear every day on the radio, but a song made for its artistic elements. At the risk of sounding snobbish, this fragrance tells a story and one must be open minded to hear it – one must put in effort to understand the song rather than just hear a beat with some catchy words. The story told is one of celebration of life and it is aptly named as it is the sun ghat gives all life.
I feel sorry for anyone who can’t get past the unusual opening because the dry down is as good as any other fragrance. I love the boozy opening with blast of lavender (it actually reminds me of mixing random drinks when I was 18 and a free-spirit), but the real magic occurs when t
