A very forward scent that will develop as the day goes on. Vetiver is celebrated and pushed to the front. The different types of vetiver are blended in a way that celebrates the note. If you are big fan of vetiver the early sillage and longevity alone makes this great value for your money.
Early on it is very boozy and the anise note creates a sophisticated quality. As the day goes on you get leather and even the rare long lasting citrus that makes the leather smell fresh and clean. Very well done, its clear a lot of thought goes into this juice.

Wow, awful. Screaming, shouting loud wood alcohol with I sure can’t tell underneath. Dried down VERY slowly away from that. Somewhere in there, I got a hint of the licorice patchouli elements, but still with that pervasive, rotting alcohol scream. It never changed and I had to scrub it off.Traumatic perfume, geez.

I see a milky substance in the bottle mixed with the liquid. Never noticed it before. I’ve only had the bottle less than a year and stored in a dark place. Any thoughts? It seems to smell ok. Is this just a natural substance unique to this one?

A dense vetiver/leather scent that just bowls you over on the opening. The bergamot and neroli hit you as an after shock. It is a touch masculine at this stage.
I’ve got to admit the leather does ease off quite a bit with time. It is now much warmer with the anise, Amber and Tonka now very evident. I do love that little anise twist.
It’s a resinous scent with some kick from Vetiver and leather. A great cool weather scent that is perfectly unisex. I’d love to smell it on a fella.
It is not a heavy dark scent but it’s rich and long lasting.
    Good longevity and moderate sillage.

    Opulent vetiver.
I’m not a big vetiver fan, but this is a simply wonderful.
Nishane is stronger, confident and more masculine brother of Guerlain’s Vetiver. Like most men in Turkey, this vetiver also has mustaches! Bold, naturaly handsome and simply beautiful head turner.

A beautiful vetiver fragrance with a neroli in the background. Performance is outstanding, par 4 the course at Nishane. Great projectivity and longevity. I normally don’t go for vetiver but this changed my mind and it is by far the best one I’ve tried. I love this house, owning several others (Fan Your Flames, Menugi and Afrika-Olifant) and liking each one. They are all unique.

Sultan Vetiver by Nishane- an unique scent and definitely an acquired taste which is suitable for personal use not for mass pleasing situations…starts little fresh and then comes vetiver and leather mix and ends with amber mixed black pepper bitterness which kinda goes into sharp animalic territory like leather oud by Dior…the transition is strange as sometimes i get a smell of a book store or a leather shoe shop and sometimes it’s like civet or bitter green smell…and it lasts whole day like usual strong Arabian stuffs.

Powerful. A sharp, smokey, spicy green opening. It gains this heavy, regal quality to it as it moves towards the dry down, where it becomes sweeter but not cloying. Smooth all the way through. Inspired me to make my legendary 4 meat chili.

Nishane Sultan vetiver is very aptly name as if any vetiver which a sultan can wear then this is the one IMO.
This is truly a vetiver which has depth and that’s a statement you cannot make very easily for vetiver fragrance. As it starts off I smell a juicy vetiver which is mixed with Bergamot and its quite fresh which is also easy to wear and it makes you feel clean and luxurious at same time . At this moment its projecting quite well and as it devlops you can smell Neroli and Pepper coming through along with vetiver and bergamot . This will stay like this for next 4 to 5 hours and then this perfume will Play Dr Jekyll and MR hyde with you as till now it was only showing the playful side of it however now it will start showing the dark side.
As it come to 4/5 hours mark this perfume turn from elegant vetiver to Dirty earthy woody vetiver and this happens because they have used different variety of vetiver in its composition and dry down vetiver is little Masculine and will continue like this till the end of its journey which last around 8-10 hours on my Skin which makes it one of the most long lasting vetiver in my arsenal along with Roja vetiver . This is great fragrance for office and also can become signature scent .
Price of this fragrance at 50 ML for 175 $ is not something i can very easily recommend however if you have money and can look for a some discount then go for it as you are getting long lasting all year round fragrance which is a rarity in perfumery .9.5/10

    Luca Turin on Sultan Vetiver:
“…which, dare I say it, reminds me of the original Guerlain vetiver before they started messing with it and lost that exact earthy-liquorice accord that made it great.”

This was my most anticipated vetiver for a long time, but I wasn’t impressed. Yes it’s quality, yes it smells amazing and natural, but I can barely squeeze it into my top 3 or 4.
Although they packed in all kinds of vetivers, I smell mainly of the Haitian variety (it’s my favorite anyway); I thought it was going to be rich and multifaceted, but turned out surprisingly sparkly and transparent, which actually reminds me of Guerlain Vetiver Pour Elle. The sweetness also reminds me of my favorite Dior Vetiver, but just a hint.

Nishane Sultan Vetiver walks the line effectively between fresh and dirty, usually one of the hallmark characteristics of an agreeable, year-round vetiver that I find wearable, as, as dominant note, vetiver is usually a pretty tough sell for me (I own Roja Vetiver as it’s pretty fresh but that’s about it).
Bergamot and neroli keep Sultan Vetiver linked to warmer weather wearing, while the tonka and woods make it lean colder weather. That several types of vetiver are involved might explain why so many characteristics of vetiver are exposed. It’s earthy but not overwhelmingly so, for example. It also has a dry sort of sweetness due to the tonka, and slightly sour finish due to the leather.
Overall, a strong vetiver entry, but one that doesn’t scream out to me for a price tag of $175, but one I would certainly wear, or consider buying at a lower price point. Vetiver fans ought to try this out, though, as it seems like it would be a hit with most that I know. Performance is good, not great on projection but solid on longevity.

Excellent fragrance, very real and natural, spicy and aromatic, intense and long lasting. A rare gem especially for vetiver lovers.

Guys and gals, this is it. THE vetiver. The one. The most accurate, enveloping, astonishing, and COMPLETE vetiver I have ever come across! This is MILES (or kilometers for our metric friends…) ahead of all the “benchmark” vetivers in the game.
Way ahead of Guerlain (which starts like this one, but devolves into a dirty-bitter-skanky-sweet urinal cake on my skin).
Far more serious than Grey Vetiver EdT or EdP, which are more focused on how vetiver compmlements citruses and mixes together to make a “clean” fresh scent. Very pleasant (bitter-rooty but without Guerlain’s skank due to the citrus), but while vetiver plays an anchor role in that fragrance, it is a supporting base for those citruses, which lend a youthful, or at least cheerful aspect to this one.
More complete than Encre Noire, which focuses on the smoky side of the vetiver combined with cypress. While this one accurately captures the smokiness of the roots, that is the main facet of the plant that is sensed in this fragrance.
Creed’s Original Vetiver, while accurately capturing the clean greenness of the plant’s above-ground elements of leaves and stems (not sure if vetiver has “stems”, as it’s really a tropical grass right?) stops there and then goes to soap (much like Mugler Cologne). It likely does this intentionally, so as to avoid the bitter elements more commonly seen in other fragrances. By contrast Creed Vetiver (NOT “Original” Vetiver; this one is now sadly vaulted) starts even more naturally than OV, but progresses to a vetiver bitterness in the base, beginning to resemble TF Grey Vetiver, but with more depth. The opening of this vaulted fragrance bears the closest resemblence to this Nishane fragrance out of all these.
I smelled Zegna’s Hatian Vetiver a few years ago, but I recall this one being quite close to the Nishane, but with lesser longevity.
Anyway, this fragrance is so special to me because I believe it to be a true and glorious study in vetiver, in all of its aspects. It’s the only fragrance I’ve found so far to do this. (Never tried Vetiver Veritas yet…). You’re not so much experiencing the plant as part of a fragrance as you are right there standing with the plant as it exists in its natural habitat, in the tropical climes of the island of Java, at the shore with the sea breeze blowing through a field of vetiver on the coast. The moist pungency of the soil combines with the breeze and the bitter, musty, slightly seaweedy (fresh, not dank seaweed like Bvgari Aqva), yet somehow bracingly refreshing scent of the roots to provide a sense of cool humid air as you deeply inhale to your fullest capacity. As you exhale, you detect the greenness of the leaves/stems of the grass elements, providing a slightly bitter, yet chlorophyll-green finish, eminently natural.
The smell is intriniscally relaxing, because it is so completely natural. I don’t detect a single hint of synthetic materials (definitely no vetiveryl acetate, etc) used here. Whether this is in fact true or not, I don’t know, but I suspect none were used, given the niche size of this small house. I don’t know if that description makes any sense at all, but I find this smell strangely calming and quieting, despite the fact that it’s an extremely deep and complex aroma, with many facets I’ve described. You know how some Oud fragrances can be austere yet rich and complex, and are described as “meditative”? Yeah, this one for me is the vetiver version of that sensation.
This is by no means a shy fragrance either, with moderate to heavy projection that is further amplified by heat, and longevity of at least 12-14 hours on my skin; not surprising given its Extrait concentration. This fragrance is best, I think, for cooler weather, 45-70F (7-21C). Because vetiver is a fresh scent, I think the vast majority of people will enjoy this, but it’s best for outdoor use or large indoor spaces, as it can be on the stronger side, and may overwhelm people in smaller offices. It’s not cheap at about $180 US for a 50ml bottle, but I think it might actually be worth the price (I put this in a similar category to SOME Slumberhouse fragrances in terms of being worth the steep price). Overall, this fragrance is just astonishing in its accuracy, completeness and complexity, and a full bottle will almost certainly be happening for me, as soon as I can get the spare cash together.

This review is not focused on top, middle or base notes but on sensations. Sultan vetiver manages to take you back in the centuries to the Topkapi palace, just like an ambassador waiting for an audience with the Grand Visir
being embraced by the fragance of the chambers and the scent from the surrounding gardens; it’s a pleasant superior cleaness, if Spice Bazaar it’s a travel in space, Sultan vetiver is a travel in space and time too.

    Edit;
