Although it is not original in its olfactory constructions, Ermenegildo Zegna’s Elements of Man works fully when it chooses well the olfactory tendency that will personify the concepts of the elements that the brand sees as important for Zegna man. Perhaps it is not coincidence but the strong moments of the collection are exactly the most remarkable elements of the concept of the man that is constructed. Strength joins Passion and Integrity in the central trilogy of the collection and hits the idea precisely while targeting a tobacco concept to convey it.
The composition looks at strong and powerful notes of tobacco, honey and agarwood and its aura will surely remind many to a perfume that in recent years stood out with the first two notes: Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. I would say that as much as the projected aura can make it at first seem like a clone, the fine details of the composition make it interesting, complementing the strength of the idea with unexpected nuances.
The tobacco personified here has its smoky side and dry in evidence, with the honey and the fruity aspect giving a sweetness and bringing the idea a little to the field of Tobacco Vanille. However, the choice of agarwood and musks acting secondarily creates a controlled animalic aura, a more crude / wild olfactory side suggested in the sophistication of the strength of the tobacco aroma. There are even intriguing green herbal contours, which do not always shatter on the skin but help make the perfume more complex and less linear for the wearer. It is one of the strongest creations in the collection, both in construction and in performance and a creation where idea and content integrate in a fluid and clear way. Good work from the brand.

Un air de Tobacco Vanille.
Maybe this scent is more Velvet Teddy by Mac which is another clone of that Tom Ford. More fruity (dried plum like, cherry marmalade similar to Tobacco by Boclet, yes another clone) and sparkly, airy as someone below was writing.
Nice sobstitute of love. A cologne version of the Model.

I can see why people think that Strength is similar to Tobacco Vanille. However I think that Strength is superior to TV. For starters Strength has far better Longevity, and furthermore I find that the Dried Fruits note in TV is mildly astringent with an unpleasant metallic/synthetic edge to it.
Strength is a delicious and warm scent, bringing to mind clumps of moist Pipe/Hookah tobacco and apricot preserves.
I think that Zegna has introduced a fine fragrance to world.
I would highly recommend this to anyone seeking a warm winter fragrance.

Considering the fragrance licenses for Zegna and Tom Ford are both currently held by giant Estee Lauder, the similarities between their respective scents is surely no coincidence.

What a beautiful tobacco fragrance, almost monothematic and linear but with so much depth. What you get is so good, you just don’t want it to change!
To describe it simply, on me, it is an opening of a very distinctive dry, lightly smoky tobacco with a thick fruity note (apricot here, I could have mistaken it for peach) which is the basis of this very seductive overture. And then comes in this oud note, but not in the way we have been submerged by all kinds of oud in the last few years. Here, it is a marvelous discreet companion bringing this lightly burned woody smell that will darkened this already sombre intoxicating blend. As of now, it is mostly a duet of tobacco & light oud. Oh, I almost forgot about the honey. I am not too found of honey in perfumery, but here it is done with so much subtlety. Sweetness never take over. You can feel the golden warmth keeping this opulent melange together. You just don’t want it to end! Rich, deep, opulent, sophisticated.
It is an extremely well done fragrance. If you love tobacco, I highly recommand you to try this one.
Concerning the comparison with Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille, I do not really see any comparison possible aside from the fact that they share a common ingredient. TFTV has a strong tenacious sweetness that never spoke to me. Zegna’s Strength is a lot more about tobacco & dark woods.
All of the 5 offerings from that Elements of Man collection are concentré de parfum. Longevity is excellent.

Smells like Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille but this is more light and airy because of the Oud. I prefer this because it’s not as sickly or stuffy. But I personally don’t care for either.

I smelled this entire line tonight along with House Of Sillage The Greatest Showman. Strength smells like a soft Pure Havane. Those sweet notes and honey does it and moves it away from the Tobacco Vanille for me.

I tried both, Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille and this one at the same time. They are indeed similar, but TF’s is drier and less sweet, better balanced.
Strength EZ is sweeter and fruitier, you know this specific aspect of dried fruits in tobacco. For me it was bolder and thicker than TM, more like real pipe tobacco.

This smell ALOT like Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille with a hint of Tom Ford Oud Wood. Great smell but not original!
