What a perfume, let me say it again. What a perfume!. Smells beautiful. A perfume that gets makes a bad day good. A perfume that is not strong to the nose but gives you a fresh punch. Believe me this was a blind buy. The best blind buy ever! So good!

You can’t hate this. The scent profile is so soft and inoffensive, the projection so low that nobody can smell it on me. It is unique but not in any way that calls attention to it.
The performance is hard to put a finger on. I think it’s all gone but I get occasional whiffs every so often. I left my shirt in the bathroom overnight and the whole room smelt of it the next day. Only 2 sprays.

Let me begin with an hypothesis. If that scent became out of production, prices would go high and there would be a buzz. Fact is, it’s a sleeper. Everyone seems to love it. And there might be a reason or two for that.
First, it’s pleasantly innofensive. Not everyone is looking for very potent and daring stuff (so am I depending on the days) and Montblanc Starwalker does a great job for what it is. A tranquil crowd pleaser, a refreshing day scent for mild weather. Something you could put on your scarf in the spring when you walk with your girlfriend.
I don’t really get the mandarin orange, but the bamboo and the sandalwood are really there. It’s a bit greenish and a bit blue, it’s not sweet but not bitter either. Just look at the notes, and you’ll see that this cologne is a peaceful one. Also, if you begin a collection, it’s a nice one you might consider buying, especially considering the low price.
The scent itself lasts long enough for me. But if you’re looking for 6-8 hours longevity, you might want to carry a decant at work with you.
Best scenario: indoor environment. Conditioned air. Work. Office. Torture chambers, whatever 😛 You won’t choke anyone. And there’s nothing not to like about this fragrance. Like I said, it’s remarkably mild but at the same time, it is unique enough. You recognize it instantly and that’s a good thing, considering how “generic” it is.
I wouldnt try that in a club, but definitly on a date. That scent is a sleeper, there’s no chance you’ll smell like the ex boyfriend. In a club though, you’re competing with Ultra Male and One Million Lucky… That’s another story.
If your first reaction to the smell will be like mine, you will instantly think of Starwalker as the good, reliable friend you can count on. And we all like to have a good, loyal friend like this. You can have him in any situation and he’s nice enough not to be weird 🙂

    Sparkling fresh day scent
    Lasts all day, office friendly.
    The smell is uplifting really.
    That’s where the stars are.
Underrated and perhaps out shun by Individuel,
this is a very nice sweet citrus with bamboo and sandalwood creating an accord of pencil shavings.
It has a sun dried laundry fresh appeal that makes you feel good.
    Made by a Master nose.

I got this graf from Burlington yesterday after hearing how much Ashton like this frag. I paid 15.99 for a 50ml bottle and I have to say I am very pleased with it. My roommate is a big fan of Versace Eau Fraiche. So I did a side by side of the two frags. I have to say they are amazingly similar. this is a great hot weather frag and for the price, I paid it was a no-brainer. would I buy this again- Yes. longevity was 5hr and on my skin, it was the same for both frags I test. Both projected softly. IHO is if you can find this for less then $20 I would pick it up.

Light, woody, and inoffensive. However can’t stand the bamboo note.

This is a light, watery, green scent to my nose that smells a lot like just washed laundry or that damp smell from an air conditioner or, even, the ozonic scent you get from a Xerox machine. Smells a bit metallic, too. It’s very odd to my nose. Not totally gross…just not something I want to smell like. That said, many others have had positive reactions to it and I gave away my bottle to a friend who likes it.
Longevity was below average (2-4 hours) for me.
A 5.5/10. Not something I like to wear but got some compliments.

Starwalker is a cheap summer gem. Starts off with orange and bergamot with softer bamboo at first. Bergamot fades quickly but the orange stays around for a decent amount of time on my skin. Bamboo in this gives off a watery vibe, and actually seems to provide a nice sillage. Best in the daytime and high heat to me. Probably won’t garner too many compliments, but almost everyone will say it smells nice if you ask them. I get a good amount of nutmeg smelling from the cap, but don’t really detect it on skin.

People have mentioned “aquatic” and even AdG… This is NOT aquatic, and smells nothing like AdG. Trust me, I absolutely hate aquatics and the aromachemical “calone”, which is used in most aquatics. It’s not in this fragrance.
Starwalker wasn’t at all what I expected it to be, and to be completely honest, I was initially a bit disappointed. However, I have actually come to love this scent. It’s calming and reassuring.
It DOES last, too. Some people mentioned poor performance. I tend to spray my shirts instead of my skin. It usually lasts through my work day, but not much longer than that.
It’s a safe office scent, but I find it better as a relaxing spring and summer evening scent… When it’s still warm, but starting to cool a bit as the sun gets low. Might be nice for sitting on the porch/deck with a drink in hand, and a bit of a breeze in your hair.

I rarely like men fragrances as i think theyre all very masculine and headache inducing…but ill make an exception on this one and all mugler perfumes coz i adore them…i donk know.. its a lovely perfume…not tol strong…its unique…decent lasting power and sillage…soft bamboo scent…all in all just enjoy wearing this….Hence..for you guys who love soft yet unique and long lasting perfumes….go with this one!!

The use of bamboo ( Bansh in Bengal) in this cologne has given it special feature which is really is very nice, soothing and gentle. I also found it bambooish-woody-citrusy-spicy. A definite masterpiece for all seasons. Projection, sillage and longevity is above average. A must have in your arsenal.

Nice bambooish scent. Unique and has soft silage. Definitely safe to buy.

To me Starwalker is the best of the Mont Blanc collection. It is very light, very clean and very safe to wear at the office. I think Starwalker sits somewhere between Versace Fraische and Acqua Di Gio. Just lighter than both of those. The performance is very moderate and linear. On my skin I get 4-6 hours with 8-10 sprays. But That’s ok considering its safe to wear. I would definitely wear this on a hot summer day for work or for doing errands. I don’t wear fragrance for the gym but This could be good for the gym also. This one is a light “Freshie”.

Talk about the ‘Hype Train’ this frag isn’t just on it but driving it lol!
One of these generic modern scents, though not offensive and very safe, doesn’t last beyond 2 hours then a skin scent. Very over rated.
I have one for sale that is 99% full in the box…make me an offer. Not a big fan of this house any longer but hey.

Is it weird that I actually would love to smell this on my girlfriend?

  16. :

I simply could not stop smelling the cap when it first came in. I use it very sparingly as I can see myself go through this cologne a lot..and it’s becoming hard to find for cheap. It is perfect for cool or mildly warm weather..especially when it’s rainy out – the spiciness really compliment it. I blind bought this, and smelling it from me one of my colleague bought two for himself. The longevity is AMAZING. After 8 hours it’s still going strong. Just buy it if you can get it under $30-40, well worth it.

  17. :

Don’t sniff it very closely right after sprays.
Wait for a few minutes, then the dry down is very very amazing.
The combination of sandalwood and citrus is so wonderful.
I dont get much bamboo, but the dry down smells like tobaco.
The sillage is not so good, but “on-skin” smell is excellent.

Not very impressed with this fragrance. I shouldn’t have blind bought it, & I’d have been better served with other fragraces in this price point. ….Yep, still not impressed.

    Sentence Summary:
For some reason the smell of this reminds me of that scene near the end of ‘Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon’ where the 2 characters float about in the trees (it has an airy, tranquil breeziness to it)
Except in this case you can still see the strings.
    Overall rating 7/10

I decided to test again to see if I missed some magic , the claimed fruit notes and a possible resemblance to versace eau friache. It has none of these things. This is a mellow, casual safe scent that is aquatic, but not very fresh. This can be worn any day , any time and is non offensive. It is far too light with 3 hours longivity and weak projection. It is a rather boring scent and your money would be better spend on nautica voyage or mont blanc individual or versace eau friache. Not recomended and will not be repurchasing.

    Starwalker:
Named presumably after the starfruit note that it contains. I’m going to describe the scent by feeling, and what it reminds me of rather than an accurate note breakdown. Fresh, subtle calming, relaxing etc. These are the adjectives I would use to characterize this cheapie. I’m at home relaxing on a lazy Sunday, gearing my mind for the work week ahead. This is exactly the scent I need right now, whilst lounging apathetically in my recliner. It’s fresh, citrusy but not in a vibrant, energetic sense. It’s more akin to say, lavender or maybe another soft floral. It subtly wraps its freshness around the user like a freshly washed blanket, still warm from the dryer. Soft, cotton like freshness. Calm and serene. I would say if you’re into fresh scents, you couldn’t go wrong with this one. A nice scent indeed.

Very underrated perfume. It deserve more than this. I agree with a comment below, “Why we don’t talk about this perfume?”. It’s from Michael Almairac bro! It should tell you something. I have one of this and I love wearing it when the weather is hot & humid outside. The more you sweat, the more delicious your body smell. I still received compliments from my colleagues & customers when the day I wear this gem. Yes, the smell will remind you of Versace Eau Fraiche but Starwalker is more on woody side with the presence of bamboo notes & sandalwood where Versace Eau Fraiche on the oceanic side. It stand 12 hours plus on my body upon spray & an arm sillage. I do recommend you to try this if you live in a country where the weather is hot & humid all day long. Fresh fresh fresh is what you get!

this is the epitome of the word FRESHNESS.
this scent is very relaxing and inviting.
    just right. not overpowering.
from the opening until the amazing dry down.
it has this clean, shower-fresh vibe into it.
perfect for working out or getting out in the sun.
(the more you sweat, the stronger it gets!)
it smells very similar with Versace Eau Fraiche.
i own both of them, but i prefer Mont Blanc Starwalker because of its very elegant bottle. haha.
    it’s a perfect gentleman scent.

On my first few wearings of this fragrance I really didn’t understand how everyone was detecting similarities between this and Versace Man Eau Fraiche. I genuinely thought everyone was going crazy, my nose just didn’t calibrate with anything on Fragrantica.
Then one evening I was caught off guard when I was putting my pile of work shirts into the washing machine.
I got a very faint whiff of this, I immediately thought to myself, I don’t remember wearing Versace, in fact I haven’t worn that since last summer. Then it hit me, it was in fact Starwalker I was detecting.
The sillage is the giveaway, take the clean soapy vibe from Eau Fraiche and mix it with some woods, subtle spices & then sprinkle a little bit of sexy and you have Mont Blanc Starwalker.
I have received more compliments on this fragrance than I have with Mont Blanc Individuel and THAT is on EVERYONE’s Top 10 Cheap compliment List.
Personally this scores higher for me, everyone in my office environment appreciates this and my partner adores cuddling me when I apply this.
Personally, I see this as Eau Fraiche’s older, better looking and much more masculine brother. They’re related, but you can’t always tell.

This stuff is great! Very aquatic! I only wear this in mid-summer with scorching hot sunny temperatures in which you can get good longevity in that regard. When I first tried this, thoughts of being outside in the hot sun on the pool side tanning came to my mind.

  27. :

    3 out of 5

    Is it pleasing? yes
    Is it quality ? yes
Is it priced right ? Yes
Do I like it ? No
    Let me explain,
IN a world filled with aquatics this is not creative or needed.
This fragrance has poor performance 2 to 3 hours on me. projection was weak and a skin scent in 5 minutes.
So, This seems generic to other people, has poor longevity( even for a aquatic) and does not compete with other aquatics.
Chrome, chrome legend, nautica voyage, Aqua di gio, Paco Rabane invictus, issy miyake pour homme and others would serve you much better, would be more interesting, would be higher quality, and would last longer. That does not even get into niche and prices.
This is one of the aquatics that I believe is needless and worthless.

  28. :

    3 out of 5

Groundbreaking? No. Beast mode? No. So, why should you buy this? I’m not sure. There are better options that are very slightly more expensive but this one, for it’s price, is definitely a home run. Bvlgari Man Extreme is your definite alternative (and more unique) while Versace Man Eau Fraiche is very similar but lacking the performance this has.
With all that said, I don’t think you can go wrong here for the price. Citrus, ginger, woody notes. As stated, nothing groundbreaking but a scent most people find pleasing. I think this is a win for Mont Blanc and I have yet to find any of their offerings subpar.
As with all citrus based freshies, this lacks any major performance but it isn’t bad. It will outlast Versace Pour Homme and Versace Man Eau Fraiche. I’ll say about 5-6 hours on skin. Sillage is, like the others, moderate for the duration. Like those, I think the calm nature of it is a good thing. You want something in your collection that will be of use in times where a heavy fragrance is out of bounds, per se. Here’s a good one at a great price, in that context.

  29. :

Great fragrance! Love it from initial spray to dry down. Agree with the “citrus and dry” comments made. great for everyday. Not really a night scent. Won’t disappoint.

  30. :

    5 out of 5

Awesome frag, I find it soothing/calming while also being bright, which sounds like an oxymoron but that’s what vibe I get.
The bamboo is very apparent and unique but doesn’t make it hard to wear.
This is one of my daily wears, very casual and upbeat.
The one thing that really bothers me is that I can’t smell it after about an hour, but I’ve been complimented on it waaaaay later than that, sometimes 6 hrs after spraying, so I must just get olfactory fatigue from this particular scent. It’s never happened to me before but all the reviews say like 8+ hrs, so it must just be me. I don’t mind, considering its price, as long as I get a nice boost to wake me up in the morning and start my day on a good note, I can live with forgetting its there.
Def recommend for a daily wear, it won’t blow your mind but it’s not boring, lasts long, doesn’t break the bank, and smells great.

  31. :

    3 out of 5

Wow! I gotta admit I didn’t see (or smell) this coming when I bought it. Compared to the rest of the montblanc catalogue this fragrance stands alone.
Don’t get me wrong, the legends have my respect, and I love legend Spirit, but starwalker offers something completely different.
As soon as you apply it, the opening makes a fresh yet complex statement that only increases as it dries down. There’s a dry element at the heart that’s hard to describe… Tweed? Its probably the bamboo and ambroxin, but the effect is both intriguing and a bit mysterious.
The silage and longevity are just a bit above average, but if it were more beast, you’d lose some of the versatility that this fragrance has. As it is it’s well balanced for just about anything, work, a night out or whatever.
I’ve heard this may be discontinued? If so, I recommend trying it while you can. Montblanc has (had?) A real winner here.

I have 3 Mont Blanc fragrances-Individuel, Legend Intense, Starwalker-and I absolutely love all of them! This fragrance is right up my alley because I love fresh spicy scents. It smells like a super strong body wash like Prada Luna Rossa Sport, fresh out of the shower. I don’t know what bamboo is supposed to smell like but if it’s anything like this then count me in! Decent longevity (8-10 hours) and moderate sillage, a must have for fresh spicy lovers.

I have already reviewed this but came to review it again just because of how dope this fragrance is. This cologne is the best citrus, and in my opinion, one of the greatest designer fragrances out there. One reviewer perfectly summed up the smell of this as sharpening a pencil in an orange. I can’t agree more. A perfect scent for any occasion but rocking this in the summer is surreal. Lets add up all the factors of why this should be in your collection and why Mont Blanc was foolish for discontinuing it:
    it smells great 10/10
    Projects well 9/10
    Lasts long 9/10
Cost literally 25 bucks or less 10/10
    What more could be said?

    Luke Starwalker.
Mont Blanc Starwalker is one of the best value for money scents I own. It starts off with a fruity blast of oranges and dries down into a fruity-sweet-fresh base. It is a safe scent and won’t offend anybody around you. I regularly wear this to the office and this is my favorite work fragrance.
    Scent – 9/10
    Performance – 8/10
    Presentation – 8/10
Can be bought for real cheap. I would suggest everyone to dump your cool water and acqua di gio and get this instead.

BoergeSmalls – I agree this opens up EXACTLY like Lalique White – but on the drydown they diverge; Lalique stays on the spicy, citrus path but the bamboo really stands out on this when it dries down.
The bamboo (to no surprise) is a very green, grassy note but it’s a pretty strongly aquatic note as well (perhaps as a result of its accord with the citrus). It has to a lesser degree the same stomach-churning effect I get from all of the more common aquatic notes. It does evolve into a nice woody-powdery skin scent for those that can endure that aquatic accord in the middle.
I’d say that makes this one an easy winner for those who like spicy aquatics, and Lalique White the best option for those who don’t.
The bottle is also really interesting to me, I like the industrial feel the cap and the neck that expands out to it give, and the bottle itself feels heavier than it looks – aesthetically very pleasing.

  40. :

Nothing that stands out or sets it apart. Literally no projection at all with this. I was hoping the bamboo note would be interesting but Starwalker smells like your every day mid grade synthetic fragrance. Not great but not horrible. I don’t see anybody wearing this getting much positive feedback. I’d say this is more of a teenager fragrance. I gave away my bottle after one wearing.

    Starwalker…
It’s a shame some people don’t get as much out of it like I do, but please don’t mistake this for a statement scent. This is very discreet in projection I agree. I admittedly have to overspray for good measure (Unapologetically too!) to get it to work in the heat of Malaysia and 4-5 good sprays always does the job!
People will notice the scent, and the drydown when the spices and sandalwood combine gives it the perfect amount of masculinity which will give you a 10 inch bubble and reasonable silage enough to be noticed by those in close proximity. There’s almost zero chance this offends anyone and it goes well with formal/casual
Scent 3.5/5 – Quite unique even though not groundbreaking stuff. The spicy blast is rather cool!
    Longevity 3.5/5 – I get 8- 9 hours with a bit of overspray

An Absolute delight for my nose in summer nights… Starwalker has just the right amount of Sandalwood combined with citrus and cedar. It has the fresh vibe but not for teenagers like the other aquatic perfume offers…
Its a very formal light fragrance and I get alot of compliments every time i wear it at parties or family events.
Longevity and silage is weak however as it lasts for only 3-4 hours on your skin with close to skin projection. If it has more silage and better longevity i would have given it more rating but right now its 7 out of 10 for me….

  44. :

Starwalker went on to be a big success in a way, but only when it was rebottled as Versace Eau Fraiche. It was either rebottled or the Versace version used a very close variation with the “bamboo” note toned down to “star fruit” levels.
Starwalker is pleasant but doesn’t make any effort to hide its drugstore distribution. I get nice mandarin in the opening, followed by the synthetic bamboo note which can be pleasant in a youthful kind of way, some ginger. Underneath it all is a woody and musky base that adds a bit of girth and dimension to the bamboo note, which would otherwise be too sharp and flat.
Ok for younger guys on the odd night out, but guys over 30 should have a good look in the mirror if they are considering this for regular wear.

I am wearing for the 1st time; I would say is a nice fragrance, but not outstanding, and as someone said below: is not really for special occasion, just to get you trough the day. Would I by it again?, no for sure, but I will give it another try in the real summer days.
No compliments or comments so far.

Begins off fresh and citrusy soon after followed by a spicy note which only lasts a few minutes. The following is a clean, fresh, musky and pleasant scent which lasts the duration of the wear.
It is a light fragrance which can be used for everyday and any use, whether working out, going out or just for at home.

    I really love this fragrance!
A very clean, semi sweet fresh metallic fragrance. I am no expert at smelling fragrances I am an amateur at this so please excuse me if my nose is way off.
To me when I say metallic I don’t mean it in a heavy headache inducing smell but a very light feel of metallic which blends in very well.
It’s not a strong fragrance, very inoffensive and to me a crowd pleasing fragrance.
Got a few compliments with this one!
Very light I kid you not I sprayed this 6 times before going to work and within the next 2 to maybe 3 and a half hours it was gone.
On my skin projection within the first hour was strong and dries down quickly. However on clothes it stays on for awhile. Sprayed it on my work clothes and left it alone for a day or two and on the spot that I sprayed the fragrance I can still smell it!
Personally for me leaves me feeling fresh.
Just wished the longevity, projection and sillage was better.

I’m a fragrance fussy fanatic woman who is allergic to so many men’s perfumes for that one notorious and common musky note that we all know.
Now, this one here – Starwalker (cool name) from Montblanc – is a hidden gem.
I’ve tried all the other Montblanc but, NO.
    Starwalker – YES!!
A subtle citrus opening. Settled down to very comfortable, very smooth, very pleasing and expensive-smelling. It conjures up images of a well-groomed man who makes anything he wears look good on him.
I see a similar opening for Versace Man Eau Fraiche but again, Versace always has this sharp musky note that comes with their perfumes that I find tacky.
Starwalker has no sharp edges sticking out. It is SMOOTH.
It does not scream for attention. But just quietly enjoying life with passion. Pure super charismatic!

A great perfume! Longevity is more than expected and much more than it has been commented here (I’m living in warm climate area). Today I applied at 7am and after 3pm, I still got nice whiff of it. The scent is classy and not aggressive. Love it so much, very enjoyable. The opening is very nice, and the middle and drydown are quite similar and linear, but that’s a good thing because when you want to reapply, it is like continuing your scent without having to wait for a strong blast to go away like some others.
My conclusion : A very understated fragrance. Very enjoyable. Love it!

I recognized it right from the start. Trust me.

This one is a very interesting scent. If you need a smell to try to reproduce spring morning freshness when Montblanc Starwalker could be probably one of the closest attempt. The notes are basically what are described, but the smell is paradoxically unique. The price is great, so it’d also be a very safe blindbuy.

This strangely reminds me of coloring pencil shavings, with the touch of spices and a dash of sweetness.
Very fresh, but really subtle. Perfect for students or office use.

I’m new to perfumes and basically I’ve just started my small collection. This was a blind buy based on the reviews I read here and all I have to say is…..WOW!!!! It’s a very addictive perfume i just can’t stop smelling my wrist. This is a combination of amber, spices, resins and something weird in a very good way that I think is the bamboo note that gives it a unique character. The only thing i regret is that i bought the 50ml bottle because this will probably become my signature perfume. Best blind buy ever!!!!

Definitely one of my favorites. Such a clean fresh skin smell. The only downfall is the week sillage and does not last that long. I would happily reapply this since it smells so good. If you’re planning on going on a date bringing a girl close to you she will definitely get this scent however if you were going to pick up a girl and not get extremely close she may not smell it.

I ordered this fragrance after hearing several positive reviews about it from friends with noses I trust. It was inexpensive on the discount market, so what the heck. Another positive aspect is that this is a unique smelling designer fragrance – no doubt! Well done on the uniqueness and price point.
Starwalker opens with a healthy dose of that generic baloney-cologney, mass-appeal, people pleasing vibe…but different enough to make it both pleasant and interesting. I mainly get citrus and fresh-spices during the first few minutes until a woody, creamy, cedar accord begins to emerge. Wait! Is that cedar I’m smelling? But what else is that in the background…nutmeg?…ginger?…perhaps, but it’s just a little off. Ten minutes later and…voila!…it’s bamboo and I am not really liking it.
Performance is a bit disappointing in that it lasts 5-hours on my skin and projects average although perhaps a bit soft. This fragrance is perfectly suited for the Spring and Summer seasons; and definitely a daytime scent. In summary, Starwalker is a very pleasant and unique designer fragrance. Although I don’t like bamboo, I can certainly see how a lot of people would enjoy this scent. I like it, but try before you buy.

It’s rare to find a scent this attractive. Smells subtle but the delish keeps crawling, lingering around your nose. Drydown is as excellent as the initial bloom. Saying that it smells woodsy, citrusy or breezy fresh doesn’t do it justice. You must use it to fully experience the beauty and elegance it projects. Happy times. I think It will please most regular people as well as the most jaded and elitist of frag heads.

Like the versace eau fraiche, I believe some noses will get numb to the smell from prolonged exposure, thats why some would think its not very long lasting. But if you ask others if hey can smell it i believe they will tell u its still there… i would think a realistic average should get at least 4hrs
I also noted on skin its evapourates extra fast as opposed to clothing, thus might be very heat sensitive compared to other fragrances.
Still in my top 10 out of 80+ i have recently tried

Spray it on….and 2-3 hours later it’s gone.
The initial spray is great for the first 20min, but you’ll notice it drastically disappears. It’s a VERY light scent to begin with, so you’ll know it won’t last long.
This has the same feel as Versace eau fraiche. Soft, clean, light and woody dry down, except it’s slightly more woody and than Versace. But the overall tone and performance is very much like it. It’s very transparent and light.
Is it just me, or do you smell “pencil shavings” in this?
Because it’s both light, clean, transparent with a woody twist, this is versatile enough to wear for spring, summer and fall. It’s just too light to wear in winter.
I really really enjoy this scent, I just wish it lasted on my skin.
