Silence The Sea by Strangelove NYC is a Aromatic Aquatic fragrance for women and men. This is a new fragrance. Silence The Sea was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Christophe Laudamiel. The fragrance features ambergris, agarwood (oud), tuber, jasmine, tuberose and angelica.

A gallant attempt to try to make an aquatic Oud but ends up failing rather spectacularly. The perfume opens with faint notes of white truffle and angelica before proceeding to a floral heart comprised of jasmine and tuberose and finally drying down to reveal ambergris with Oud. A very soft and watery composition, the elements hardly come through in the final mix and at the very premium price this retails for, one wonders how the user will ever be satisfied with this trifle of a scent. The scent is unisex (slight feminine leaning)’with soft to moderate projection and moderate longevity. In my humble opinion somewhat watery misfire and even more so with the shockingly high price it comes attached with. Disappointing.

This is a wonderful perfume. I now luckily own the oil version, which is very powerful, so the tiniest amount will get you far.
I smell indolic, aquatic, tarry notes mixed with a classical ambergris interpretation and some white flowers. They all work wonderfully together.
The scent, luckily, is unsweet and very complex, but
soothing.
In my opinion, this is one of the best compositions I have smelled in a long time.
To me, it is by far the most appealing of the strangelove trio.
