My choice of tuberose was not fortuitous, as you rightly pointed out it is a carnal flower that’s loved and feared at the same time. I’ve always been fascinated by an ancient story according to which in the past maids were not allowed to smell the scent of tuberose as it was thought to awaken “impure thoughts” in them, given its rousing power that contrasts with the pure whiteness of its petals. The main risk when talking of love is that of falling into clichés, trivializing a feeling that is all but trivial. Taersìa by Maison Gabriella Chieffo is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women. This is a new fragrance. Taersìa was launched in 2016. Top notes are bergamot, elemi and ginger; middle notes are tuberose, incense, myrrh and coffee; base notes are patchouli, cashmere wood, cabreuva, white amber and musk.

The name means storm in a dialect of southern Italy. Infact it smells of salt, wind and of a touberose which isn’t neither sweet nor sensuous. It does not remind a passive woman waiting at the window like Joyce’s Evelyn. It’ s spicy, salty, restless and not necessarily feminine. This perfume evokes movement and dynamism but non chaos. Slowly the ginger fades away leaving space to this passionate and modern touberose. It’ s a very good perfume but not for everyone
