This is Issey Miyake meets noir. Take Issey Miyake Homme Intense and intensify it further two times over and then add some woody touch, take off any aquatic or iso e remnants. Et voila, you have your Ajmals Shadow Grey. This is strictly a night perfume. Ideally this is the perfume I would expect people to wear on winter nights for dinners or parties, it is that intense. This is not for college kids, it has a very grown up air about it, and nothing aquatic or fresh in it. Use very sparingly, one spritz is quite enough if you are going for a dinner or so. If you are hitting the club, then two spritzes and no more. I can smell this on me next day and on the clothes day after. I use no more than one spritz and it still radiates for the first 6 to 7 hours till about say an arm’s length. By the way I love Issey Miyake to bits and as a result this was a lovely buy for me. Wear it with caution though, you don’t want to bomb the place with it. This was INR 2000 for a 75 ml bottle.

The shown notes are not correct. This fragrance does not have CLARY SAGE.
    It has Olibanum (Frankincense)instead.

This is one of the best perfumes that I had from Ajmal. a very lovely scent with its own character. distinctive and smooth and long lasting. up to 6 hours or so. fresh with a very subtle whiff of oriental note.

It’s a great smell. Longevity is good in winters. It gives almost 8hrs during a day time but it is bad during summers. I mean the criteria to use this perfume is based on outside temperature. If it is 20 degree Celsius and below, use it with ease.anything above that it is Ill performing. So my suggestion is to use it during a/w days and summer nights. The best thing about it is it’s distinct smell.

After wearing 3 days in a row, Love. BUT unfortunately, it doesn’t perform at all in summer with 32-34 celsius degrees ( 89.6 – 93.2 fahrenheit). Such a pity.. fortunately, I found it with a very low price. I will edit this review in fall when the temperature falls to see if there is any difference concerning the performance of this fragrance.
As for now, I can wear it with heavy trigger in hot summer weather (5-8 sprays) and never becomes cloying. Other people hardly can smell you only if they come very very close to you. I can smell myself though. Definitely for day time use, it’s a very light spicy incense. It’s not a true arabic scent thought but more a westernized one with an eastern vibe in it. Absolutely beautiful and natural (natural incense smell) to my nose. It has also coriander, sandalwood, cloves, shortlived black pepper, vetiver and sage. These are the main players with incense at the head. There is also faint bergamot, musk, mild patchouli, mild cedar, traces of orange blossom, light saffron.
It opens with a blast of spices, sage and bergamot. The incense comes to the surface as it dries down quite quickly and remains the main star until the end. After the initial spice blast, it becomes a nice and elegant skin scent.
Performance.. the sad story. I tried it in high temperatures in summer. I’ll try it again in fall and make an edit. I get (by overspraying) at best 4 hours of longevity with moderate projection for the first an hour. Than it stays very close to the skin.
Conclusion. I love it, definitely I’ll wear it until it ends. But I won’t buy it again no matter how cheap it is. It doesn’t matter its moderate performance considering its price range. I can repeat spraying myself through the day.
    Update -Similar scent.
If you like this Ajmal give a try to Loewe 7 Anonymo edp.

    Good Fragrance!Very well balanced!
Fresh, incense, floral and a lot of spices (pepper and cardamon meanly). And it has a woody hint also.
Perfect oriental but fresh. Shadow works perfect in hot weather.
It brings some good memories from some days in Dubai.
    Excelent longevity= 10 hours.
    and great sillage.
Great buy for a cheap fragrance ( I paid 25 USD)

One of my perfume aficionado and good friend Vikram suggested this, loved it so much that the bottle was empty in 5 months.
My wife who hates perfumes loved this one.
Go for it, you will not be disappointed.

I agree with m.t.alkawa. I received sample of this when I purchased another perfume from Ajmal outlet. I don’t like the opening notes as they are highly balsamic (resembles pain balm!)but 10 or 15 minutes later it changes to amazingly pleasant notes. Longevity is ok and projection is moderate. Price is reasonable. Overall good one….I will surely buy it next time.

This is my fav perfume from this brand Ajmal, i got it as a gift, the first few times i felt it’s too strong to be used, the Incense notes are too overwhelming, to give it a real try i sprayed it on to my hand and kept smelling every hour, i was surprised, the musk and sandalwood dominate with a just a hint of insence, perfect! i won’t spray it directly before i leave the house, i’d give it at least 15 min to loose it’s top note overwhelming effect i mentioned earlier. It that wasn’t there, this would have been in my closet all the time and replaced whenever empty!

For me as a woman, I could say that this is the best gorgeous men perfume that I would like to smell for ever!. It has a unique scent with the most elegant combination of the other notes. All the ingredients together, make up a luxurious smell. SHADOW compete many other famous men perfumes. It is high quality , long lasting and fresh perfume. My bro have been buying it since last year and he could not stop buying new bottles of shadow when he uses the old ones up. SHADOW should be called the Royal Perfume.

Really nice bottle design… would be somewhat nicer if they had added a lid to it!
I get nutmeg so strong but it dosent seem to be listed?! It is a nice smokey woody masculine scent. Very modern and great value for your buck!

What a nice bottle. I’d like to find and try this for my man. I like the idea of Clary Sage and Sandalwood… new to me.

I usually find those ajmal fragrances quite resembled to each other that are marked under the “en vogue” category (i.e. fashionable for French). Carbon, Vision, Neutron, Chemystry are the ones i have owned and/or tried until i encountered the “Shadow”! Impressive, Unique, and Sensous with its own class. Spicy and Fresh at the top and dries down to a Woody and Musky notes.
With my body chemistry it expresses warm sensuality. The EDP composition gives wonderful longevity and silage! Extraordinarliy well for intimate moments.
