Description

Sea of Light is a fresh and transparent water, which mirrors the magnificent, famous and coveted stone. First, it feels like we are diving into a limpid source, flavored with citrus drops. Then, we can distinguish subtle dashes of sparkling mandarin and elegant lemon petitgrain oil. Next, appear fruity touches such as peach and blackcurrant. Their tonality reminds us of the pink diamond’s brilliance. Finally, a marine and salty accord is accompanying the fluffy foam of white musk, as a way to characterize this jewelry sea. Sea of Light was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Dominique Ropion.

Very nice citrus-aquatic that smells amazing!
The citruses are more on the sweet/juicy side, resting on a fresh aquatic (no sea weed thank god) and slightly salty base.
Beware tho as the fragrance recently was re-released in a ”Rebirth Edition”, that is a completely different scent!

This stuff is fantastic in terms of smell. I can’t speak to it’s overall performance yet. It’s my first wearing today and no one has noticed so far, even when sitting close. With the nature of these scents I doubt it would last too long though. The scent itself – It’s bright, fruity, salty and a bit effervescent – all seamlessly blended, soft, understated and easily unisex. There isn’t really one note from top to base that overwhelms the nose in any way. It’s very much like kicking back while sipping a fizzy, virgin cocktail on the beach and getting a light mist of salt water from the crashing waves. With the subtle blending, I would maybe liken it more to a tonic water that has been infused with the fruits than something mixed with different fruit juices. I would put this in a similar category as scents like Heeley Sel Marin, Creed Erolfa, or maybe Millesime Imperiale..but less salty than Marin, and more fruity than all of them. In general, there is more going on in the notes. I could see this becoming a top pick, personally, for those times I might have reached for those others.
