Description

After Sculpture for women, Nikos launched Sculpture pour Homme, a fragrance for men. The perfume is quite unusual, just like the version for women, and it is really difficult to sort it into one category. The fragrance is very sensual, with a scent of light, moderate sweetness, fresh opening and an aromatic heart.
The top notes contain bergamot, lemon, mandarin and orange blossom. The heart encompasses cedar, balmy notes of Tonka bean, ambergris and benzoin. Its bottle is shaped like a sail, in accordance with the designer’s idea. The fragrance is aimed at reminding you of Mediterranean wind and a slow seaside walk and was created in 1995. The nose behind this fragrance is Michel Almairac.

This was my first blind buy. At first I absolutely hated it. It reminded me of vinegar and some cleaning detergents. I put it back in the box to return it when I decided to gave it another try. Suddenly I quite liked it. Very weird..
It’s quite long lasting. I still smelled it after having a tough and sweaty day at work. It’s not my favourite, but it’s good enough for a normal day at work.

Can someone tell me how this holds up to the original version from the mid 90’s??
Has it changed and does it still hold up??

This is the fragrance that got me into collecting a few yrs ago. The opening is a nice, blended citrus that is soon joined by Mediterranean summer florals. A few minutes later the rose and tonka combine to provide a light, powdery base. I know it sounds feminine but it is like a summer afternoon in a seaside town where people are selling bundled flowers, oranges, limes and lemons. Next door is a store selling white linen and just past that a shop selling soap and sachets. It is done so well that it presents as clean, fresh and more than acceptable for a male frag.
However, it does not project for me and disappears even as a skin scent after 4-5 hours. I have all but given up trying to find anything similar to this specific blend. Moving on to other summer options, but I will always have a bottle of this on hand, just to enjoy for myself now and then.
Well worth a blind buy just to experience how unique this fragrance is.

Snobs dislike it with their self proclaimed “experienced” noses. However disregard all that nonsense. This just smells good for those of any age whether a horny teen young man trying to score, or a businessman in a suit.
Sculpture is the opposite of a bad ass fragrance like Dark Rebel Rider. This is more of a nice guy easy to approach kind of scent. Don’t get me wrong, I love my leather tobacco masculine colognes. But sometimes you just got to show the world you really are a nice guy inside. And Sculpture does that without even trying.
It’s a wonderful and memorable summer scent that puts a smile on my face whenever this middle age man wears it. So all you snobs can smell it on me and ask yourself why… When I say why the fuck not!

Tried to be a classic aromatic, but this is more sweet and synthetic.
For the money lalique pour homme or moschino uomo are far better quality, better smelling, and more versatile.
This is still a good gift for a nephew or teenager though
Not really recommended and for experienced noses, nothing special here
4 to 6 hours, poor projection, but good sillage

It was my very first fragrance which I blind bought. I was lucky because Nikos Sculpture was indeed a beautiful gem. To my nose it is quite unique and well blended. I could picture a passionate yet gentle identity with this fragrance. Upon initial spray, it opens with fresh citrusy lemon and neroli, which settles down to a gentlemen’s rose which is calm and sweet, together with occasional traces of icy minty sensation. Later it dries down to a creamy powdery vibe, with dominant tonka bean vanilla note plus echoing benzoin and amber. After it becomes a skin scent, it still provokes peaceful and comfortable feelings. I feel it to be such a intimate scent, not loud or intrusive, which makes it a perfect fragrance for casual dating purpose. Moderate in projection, sillage and longevity. I find it versatile in most occasions and season/weather unless for the too hot summer days.

Got some mixed feelings to this perfume. Love the smell on the bottle, but on my skin it fades away to quickly. The first minutes its quit sharp to the nose, the dry down is a bit better. After 1/2 hours the only scent i get is a bit of lemon/citrus. Its just a simple perfume. After all these years its only (in Holland) 15 euro’s for a 100ml bottle, so you wont get bankrupt.

Fragrance – Sculpture pour Homme Nikos
    Bottle from – 2015
    He’s got character.He’s got charisma.He’s got charm.
This fragrance reminds me of an extraordinary man looking for romance in the night on the beautiful Greek island.
Sculpture opens on my skin with a fresh yet moderatly sweet and a bit creamy citruses with dominant bergamot and orange blossom with a wisper of flowers yet to come laying on top of a cozy, warm, ambery and comforting blend of tonka and benzoin.
As time goes by,during mid development, bouquet of flowers with dominant geranium and jasmine with a hint of cedar starts to emerge and bring some romance into the game.
This all leads into a bit sweeter and balsamic base with dominant tonka, amber and benzoin with a hint of cedar and the floral notes recede into the background.
He has some similarities to Wood and Spices by Montale.
    Highly recommend this one.

I can see why this isn’t categorized as a gourmand as such, but giving A’men credit for being the first of it’s kind, isn’t really fair to Nikos. What Nikos did here is really what a lot of frags did 10 years later (1 million and the likes). This might not be the first to do so, but I feel it deserves a lot of the credit which people usually give to A’men

This fragrance costs online 13€ 100ml,the opening its very citric and sharp, then drydown to a floral, citric, orange and vibe of cleaning products …The performance its ok nothing amazing…But for the price its a cool Spring/Summer fragance i use in temperatures about 10 to 25 degrees .

When I first applied this scent (Nicos Sculpture for Men) it immediately reminded me of Scentstory 24 original albeit a watered down version. The same notes are present in both scents. This scent reminds me of Indian restaurants in the UK and Indian cooking. I’m not a big fan of this scent. It certainly doesn’t remind me of sailing and the beach of which the bottle shape points towards.
Perhaps it will grow on me?!?
Having returned to this scent after a month I do understand this scent now. The orange and the lemon really come through in the top notes. And I have to say that it is growing on me. It still reminds me of Scentstory 24 as well as Versace The Dreamer. With its sweet, flowery notes on a heart of amber and benzoin. It has good longevity which I demand from fragrances. Although the silage isn’t that great making it is a more personal fragrance.
I’ll certainly be wearing a lot more of this in the future!

  21. :

I do really like this scent but as of right now it’s a like and not a love.
This reminds me of a mix between Versace The Dreamer ( Which I love) and Dunhill Desire Blue.
On its own this smell is a masculine floral, mixed with some sweetness and bright citruses. This also gives off that breezy, fresh laundry smell that I find relaxing and I do enjoy this for casual wear. Only complaint I have about this is I wish it did s a little less sweetness.
Performance on this is very good for a freshie ! It lasts 5-8 hours and is very strong for the first hour but settles down quickly after that first hour. Because of that I usually wait an hour before I go out in public when wearing this so I don’t offend ( and that’s with only 3 sprays)
The best part about this is the drydown as the floral sweetness is toned down and the vanilla comes in making this more creamy and smooth while still keeping the airy nature of the scent.
Sidenote— this is a less is more fragrance so anything over 3 sprays will be overkill !
Overall rating— 7 out of 10 ! Very good casual fragrancethat works well in all seasons and is very inexpensive. I definitely recommend this if your on a budget as it will last you a long time.

I got this as a blind buy online because of the favorable reviews on here and I have to say, I will never wear it.
Upon smelling this I didn’t even want to wear it, but I put a couple sprays on my wrist to try it and I cannot stand it.
Very boring, cheap, and synthetic smell that doesn’t seem to last very long.
    Smells like a dryer sheet.

I do not ever get tired of this… from exclusive window displays in mid-nineties to massmarket discounters nowadays, this scent still captures my whole attention, sheer or diluted it does not matter, this perfume recalls brilliantly what a mediterranean vacation are like: opulent orange flower, juicy citrus orchards, smelling flowers in the balconies and delightful sweets at open-air night parties, the sexiest 24 hours journey of your life.
Despite its huge success, I do not find this an scent suitable for everybody, maybe better targeted to a young male audience (I have always thought this would have had much more impact if it had been signed by Versace). The stone-chip shape of the bottle and the antique Greece imaginery of the packaging are also one of a kind.
In brief, a pure pleasure if you let yourself indulge in it 🙂

    For casual use. Day. Spring/Summer.
A very sharp opening fade away pretty quickly to make room for and blend in with the very light and flowery middle notes.
I consider a good option for dayly use so it is very cheap (15€/100ml), but the performance on my skin is very poor, only during first minutes I can smell it. Obviusly, for the price you cannot expect extremely powerful frangance, with great projection.
The scent is not for me, I feel it synthetic, too much flowery,it is not my style, in this kind of scent (flowery) I would recommend Cartier Declaration d´un soir. On the other hand, for everyone else (particularly women) is a pleasant scent.

I would like to use this frag one more time…but i don´t think so! It´s a ok smell…just it and nothing more!

I will begin with a Warning. This Sculpture is not the same as the Original one. by this i admit that i owned three bottles of the Original Sculpture fragrance from 1995 two bottles purchased by my mother of which she passed me a half full and a full one. these were purchased in duty free. and another bottle from end of 1996 which my girl friend purchased for me since she found the scent to be extremely sexy and demanded me to use it so she could sniff it of me. so i do remember the original formulation quite well. the price each bottle where it was purchased is equivalent to 80$US. i remember it as very impressive feminine fresh Bergamot citrus leaves essence with delicate nice Amber background. nothing very sophisticated, back in the mid 90s it was regarded as a very fresh and summery fragrance and indeed as some wrote, as something of the middle eastern dna in it. suits well a Greek designer. so for the time Sculpture with it’s original sculpted Bottle, a piece of art by itself, and good customer/user reputation had it’s days of glory. however… back to the future, which is our present, i was extremely happy to find Sculpture being aggressively sold in Pharmacies and discounter web sites for as little as less than 1/3 of it’s original cost. (and even that i seen reduced by 50% this week). i paid for my new bottle something like 22$. it indeed seems to be packed identically the same, same box, same bottle and i was even surprised to find out that the scent is almost exactly the same pleasant fresh citric mixture of scents. however few things i remember different. the Sillage of the current version is strongly reduced, it feels watered down, as user @LayneDad wrote recently, it can’t be a fake, it isn’t a fake, but it feels like an imitation, a good imitation that proves it’s not a fake. which must be a reformulation. some major change that makes it such a poor performer. the climate change since 1995 in the middle east, cant be a reason for this not holding on. as soon as the zest of alcohol of the initial spray vapors out what remains is very flat, not developing faint hint of the original scent. need to spray really many times to be able to extend even the close to the skin sillage to be felt after 5-6 Hours. however one thing i noticed on the back of the box i seen the name “Coty” which may explain that the reason of the poor performance is not climatic chance or some mysterious skin condition i might have started suffering from. perhaps it’s the Coty way to reduce costs of previously well performing fragrances so more would be sprayed, perhaps not only Coty but also something i claimed about Interparfume. however i can say that not only Sculpture suffers the same fate but also the Classic “Joop” and CK “Obsession”, i can see the logic to make us spray twice as many times for each time we used to. it means 50% more profit. however, does it promise them i will purchase the Cheap version of Sculpture again? in my opinion it only makes me look for the real manufacturer behind the famous brand name of the past. and yes. COTY. we will remember that. if given enough time in this path i am quite sure COTY will ruin the good name of all the Brands it Purchased.
I also agree that Dunhill Desire Blue has quite similar Opening and in general is a better Performer. i would also recommend for those who like Sculpture to try S.T Dupont – Essence Pure (not easy to find today).

I don´t think this is a summer fragrance. It´s too sweet and nothing fresh! I tink this is a Spring or fall fragrance.

This is the scent for your Mediterranean vacation. Nothing more but nothing less. I dare you to believe me, this perfume reveals its potential in the summer at the sea-side. I tested it at urban environment — not impressed, but at the sea, dayum, it is beautiful.

  31. :

    4 out of 5

This is a classic scent that women can pull off. It’s very synthetic at the openning and very fresh too, thanks to the mandarine orange and lemon. THe drydown is a mix between tonka bean and benzoin (vanila like). Nothing groundbreaking or worth the buy if you have sweet fragrances like Ginvenchy Pi or Montblanc Individuel. But for the price (less than 15€ for a 100ml – online), it’s a good alternative for those.
It has good performance and good smell. But there are definitely better alternatives and more modern and unique.
    6.5/10 overall

Now it made me think that some people who are giving positive reviews on perfumes are just trying to entice others to lose their money as well by buying a what could be a very horrible perfume!
Out of my almost 50+ perfumes, this is the only one that disappointed me so much with its longevity and scent. I sprayed initially on my wrist, gave that strong alcohol scent, and would you believe in just almost 20 minutes the smell is almost gone! The dry down is a tissue-scented smell. I sprayed it again, then repeated after 20 minutes, and the longevity and smell is horrible. I don’t believe I got a fake one because I bought this from a reputable seller. It has its own batch number as well both in bottle and box. It made me cringe that some perfume reviewers in Youtube are saying this last 8-10 hours on them, what a bunch of bullocks.
The only thing I can agree with some is this can be considered a unisex fragrance. Other than that, this smells of rubbing alcohol with a hint of powder/flowery scent and that’s it! Even if I got this for $29, I think I’ve been robbed, but I’ll keep the bottle anyway since the shape is unique, for collection.
    Longevity: 2/10
    Sillage: 2/10

  34. :

    4 out of 5

    Very pleasing scent.
Sometimes it makes remember my Versace Dreamer and, some other times, Zino Davidoff which I also have.
Its nose is Michel Almeirac, a very competent nose that signed hits for Montblanc, Hugo Boss, Joop, Bodega Veneta, Azzaro, Bond n.9, Burberry and Davidof.
I like it during spring and early summer.
The pluri citrus opening and the Tonka / Amber dry down make it a very easy to like scent without being outstanding. Both sillage and longevity are a bit above average.
The beautiful bottle plus the attractive price make it a winner or at least a very good multipurpose backup fragrance as it really does not smell cheap or synthetic.
Give it a chance. Several people asked me what I was wearing with a couple of sprays of Nikos Sculpture. It also has been widely approved by my wife and that means that it’s remarkable for her.
As far as I am concerned I will buy another bottle when I finish the current one.

Being one of Almairac’s creations I expected this juice to perform way better. I’d describe it as a light citrus oriental with some creamy and powdery facets that feels more unisex than masculine. Not a bad scent per se but I don’t like the idea of needing to reapply every two hours.

  36. :

I was looking for cheap refreshing summer scent to wear while doing errands but I can’t see how this is considered a refreshing summer scent, maybe in europe where temperature barely makes it past 30°c.
This is too sweet from the start, I don’t mind sweet scents but not in summer heat, it’s a bit cloy, and with the citrus it smells like candy. There’s something in the background in the heart that smells nice but it’s still overwhelmed by the sweetness of tonka beans, benzoins, amber and flowers.
The smell isn’t necessarily bad, it is more like autumn/spring scent but I would rather wear something woody or herbal than a citrus fragrance.
    Bottle looks good though.

  37. :

Nothing groundbreaking, a nice scent which I’ve smelt it before. I like it but it’s not enough to buy a bottle.

  38. :

    3 out of 5

Many notes in Sculpture’s perfume pyramid, but hard to percieve anything but lemon and some flowers. As a citrus scent, its actually rather nice. The reformulated/destroyed Minotaure smells very alike this juice. Sillage and longevity are weak. Nice but impractical bottle.

  39. :

Except for the top notes, Sculpture smells very much like Alien and Armani Code for women (or the other way round, since Sculpture came first). Very enjoyable and highly recommended.

I like it’s bottle and I like it’s notes which by the way suggest a unisex scent(I’m used to see them more in feminine perfumes).I was planning to order a bottle for myself but before that,I saw it’s tester in a local perfume shop and asked my husband to spray some on his wrist
It opens with a syntethic, sharp and sweet blast which is absolutely masculine in my book.I don’t know which note is responsible for it’s masculine vibe(maybe tonka?)the only thing I know is that I don’t want to wear it myself.it’s not a sour, fresh citrus scent,as citrus notes are sweet and syntethic.hubby didn’t really like it so it remained in the shop but I didn’t stop sniffing hubby’s wrist every ten minutes or so.gradually it developed to something much better.not too sharp or in your face anymore.orange flower and a touch of citruses give it a clean vibe and are grounded by a creamy, slightly spicy base of tonka, benzoin, amber and sandalwood . This warm, creamy base(I can smell something like vanilla and something like cinnamon) saves it and turns it to something I can say that I like.it’s a little less masculine in it’s drydown
Well there’s nothing ground breaking in it but I like how it’s warm and clean at the sane time.it’s not real citrusy or too fresh to my nose.and hchas a sunny vibe that makes me think of summertime, still I believe it’s wearable year round
I can’t talk about it’s performance or decide wether I really like it or not without furthur tests, for now I know that it’s pleasant and it’s warm creamy base is very comforting and it’s so cheap

Hi Nothing special this perfume NIKOS, citrus scent. But it only takes 20 minutes on the skin and clothes. After 20 minutes do not feel anything at 20 C. The tragedy feels nothing. Smell not rich. Low price speaks for itself, nice bottle just that.It is not like a note to Versace DREAMER. Regards

as a young guy ,its nice
i have to say it is so like the impossible to find
    Blue Planet by Erad Paris
that is almost identical ,discontinued in 1982.
but since i paid £140 for a bottle of blue planet recently that was only 80% full with no box ,
it is is excellent as it will help me to be frugal with the real stuff ,to my nose the amber in this and the tonka bean spoilt it,the lily of the valley is unnecessary.
but i got it for £7 for 50 ml brand new sealed
so am i boovered ,no not one bit .
revel in it its good and the heavy smells that do spoil it wear off first so ,plus plus for evening wear that’s great and in the smelly trains and tubes or pubs were you have to barge through the stinking masses who smoke ,yuck. its awesome /as it knocks these pongs out of the area for at least the first 20 mins

Now this cologne has one hell of an attractive bottle but do not expect alot from the juice inside it.
The smell is nice but nothing special or worth complimenting. Just a nice clean scent which starts with Orange Blossom , tonka bean and citrus and dries down with cedar and tonka bean and honey.
Nautica voyage is more fresh in the beginning while this one has more tonka and floral blast so i would not say that both fragrances are similar.
Longevity and silage both are weak though.
5 out of 10 for me.

    Smells good…
    Cost $16.53 for a 3.4 Oz bottle.
I’ll buy one more and give it my dad.
Clean scent, I’d put on straight after a shower.
    Can’t go wrong with it.
Next who really cares how the bottle looks?
    Don’t be a snob!
Unless you’re wearing this bottle like jewelry, then drop it.
It smells good, it last seven plus hours, sillage is okay and its cheap, what more do you need?

Need to say that my first impression was not so good, but after wearing it for a couple of days i got used and liked it a lot (the notes are changing through day). I kind of think that this goes better for men but i’ve felt similar scents and on women. Great price, great buy.

  49. :

Decided to take a chance on this cheapie from amazon as I was placing an order for something else, so threw this in.
To my nose this is Plus Plus Masculine Diesel almost exactly. There are some slight differences between the two, but very close. I get the grape/berry note up front, much like Diesel and as it drys down it gets a little more citrusy and floral. Very strong fragrance and sweet.
So while it’s pleasant enough it’s just not really my type of scent.

  50. :

100% summer scent. I can’t imagine wearing this on cold winter/fall days. Reminds me of a relaxing sunny summer day after work or on the weekend. Not a night out or date fragrance, more for casual daytime wear. Very clean, kind of sweet and light floral, and thus, unisex for sure. It’s not feminine by any means, nor is it anywhere near would I believe to be masculine, it’s somewhere in between. Women in my world love this on me. Longevity is good, projection is below average but easy to refresh. It’s a very pleasing scent, won’t offend anybody, and unique to my nose. It was a good blind buy for me. It’s in my top 5 for my spring/summer rotation along with Aventus, TDH, Bleu and New West.

The glass bottle is something you might never have seen or felt and the juice inside is not bad either. Got this after seeing bottom note on YouTube recommend it and with the price you have to pay for it, you cannot go wrong. The scent is fresh and zesty and the good kind of powdery and clean. Projection is limited as you have to be close to the skin to smell it. Perfect for a summer day but you will hv to re apply

I simply adore this fragrance. First because of the bottle which is the most beautifull bottle ever created for a fragrance. The fragrance itself also is unique & perfect. Sweet but soft, full of sun & like a walk at the Mediterranean sea. It’s a perfect one day trip escape. I don’t even need to close my eyes to see sun, sea, lots of appealing orange trees & other typical hot & tasty perfect Mediterranean goodies. What’s all that grey sky, white clouds, pollution & ugly buildings in front of me, where’s the nice blue sea, beautifull nature & nice people? Closing my eyes to enjoy nicer things.

longevity is pretty good actually 6-7 hours..(with 4 sprays)
Sillage is moderate to soft for me but this is how it supposed to work i think anyway..
The scent it nothing really special but i like it..Its really cheap for its quality, easy going fragrance, nothing bad or negative there..
Light, everyday fragrance , best to use in really hot days of summer

Sometimes I combine Sculpture with a drop of rose and it blends very beautifully creating a unique scent.

Don’t think it’s discontinued. My bottle was made in late 2015, and you can find on Nikos website.
Not a typical fresh fragrance, you can wear it on cooler days too, and smell good along 1 million-like fragrances. Good for formal too.

It is not a review, just clarification. Guys, do not be mislead with a current price. This one is actually discontinued and never had proper advertised, so brand was never so popular. It is Coty brand, but belonged to “selective perfumes” division, together with JOOP!, Jil Sander, Chopard, Vivianne Westwood, Davidoff, etc.
I am not saying you should you like it or not, but if you do, just take an advantage of the current price, you will get a quality product.
I am a bit snob when it comes to perfumes, I would never try those branded with all those Britney Spears, Jessica Simpsons, etc., but sure I am happy to get a good quality for great price.

More like Plus Plus, than The Dreamer. I remember it was popular along with Le male, Burberry Men, Versace Dreamer, Rochas Man, A Men. These fragrances resemble me how 90s smells. I’m glad Coty still produce this gem without reformulating much.

Pretty nice fragrance! I was able to buy it really cheap (15 euro). To me it’s really a summer scent. It’s not that long lasting and projecting but it’s good for the hot summertime at days that you just want to smell good. Smell wise I really get a lemon cheesecake thing. Not getting the vanilla some are talking about.

This fragrance is a warm weather weapon. It does smell reminiscent of a lemon cleaning product IN A GOOD WAY. What it does is give you an option of not smelling like oranges or aquatics to smell fresh and clean during the warm days. Therefore, it separates your from the crowd. If you go to bath & body works, smell the C.O Bigelow lemon lotion (I think) or their mens lemon scented lotion. This will take your nose…in the direction that this fragrance enters. IF… you are tired of the same ol’ same ol’ summer spring frags smelling like aquatics and orangey citrus notes. This will give you variation. Longevity is not evident to the user past 2/3 hours (ON THE SKIN..NOT THE CLOTHES). But it is inexpensive enough and light enough to reapply and go a few extra sprays
