    @Hastey
I totally agree. I have smelled TL once and I can vaguely remember the scent. So I cannot make a real comparison. This one however smells very high quality.
Bought my 100ml bottle for €23,- Which is probably the best quality/euro you can get at the moment.

This has shot to the top of my leather fragrance list.
What a beautiful composition. Yes there are similarities but there are many differences to Tuscan Leather. For me Tuscan Leather is pretty much a linear scent after the raspberry disappears, leaving nothing but leather to my nose.
Royal leather opens with a blast of leather and saffron, maybe a bit overpowering to begin with, but stick with it. The initial opening mellows down with the introduction of Iris, but not the kind of Iris that reminds you of Dior Homme. More so I think it plays it’s part to even the fragrance out. As the heart begins to develop, the fruits begin to come out. This part of the fragrance is simply stunning, the fruits coupled with the amber brings in some sweetness, but not the cloying type. One thing it does well, is it keeps every note well balanced. Up to this point there has been no similarities to Tuscan Leather. This has been a journey, TL doesn’t offer as such.
After 3 – 4 hours in the Drydown is where it can be compared to TL. Even then, I prefer the leather in Royal Leather, it’s smooth and sophisticated. The fruits are still there in the background giving it an ever so slight sweetness, with a tinge of florals.
Just stunning, blows TL out of the water in composition and price! Shame it’s ignored in the community.

I get the comparisons to Tom Ford’ Tuscan Leather. The leather note is about same. The difference here is that note is more pronounced, sharper, but never over powering. But if spent some real time in top note gourmand leather fragrances, the subtle of the other notes makes the difference. This reminds me more of Golden Boys leather frangrance. I get more of honey and ginger playing around vividly with the leather. But what Charriol tends to due in their fragrances is make other frangrances better. And this the case. This a more vivid and fuller scent than TL and GB. I like this one better than both of those. I would see no need to have all three or even just two of them. If you like TL due the raspberry note, I understand. But that frangrance is so weak to me. And this one is harder to get. I barely scored a bottle. So exclusivity is a must.

    Wooo nice!
It is very sharp and direct, dry, powerful, somewhat seductive, and addictive.
Makes me feel powerful and confident, but not pretentious.

I have that and it’s a good winter perfume. Very dense and mature. Strong leather and saffrom with some dried fruits in it. I had an opportunity to smell Tuscan Leather from TF and they are too similar indeed. Strong projection in first two hours, moderate after that. Amazing staying power, lasts more than 10h.

Some time ago Tom Ford released the “Tuscan Leather” within its exclusive collection: Private Blend. It was a bestseller and still is and of course many other fragrances copied from something like this development.
For this is the case of Royal Leather.
A nice scent that mimics Tuscan Leather, with a touch of fruit with very spicy smoked dried leather.
If you have not smelled before Tuscan Leather, this fragrance you think a composition of good quality, but it really is not, so like that feel like a copycat and without sufficient identity to be valued as a unique and original creation.

Just got mine today and i am blown away.
One of the best fragrance i have in my collection.
It was a blind buy from an online store since I am finding difficulties to find Charriol perfumes on stores but it is worth it.

good fruity leathery scent , the only issue is lack of performance.I prefer Rasikh by Sayed Junaid over this.
عطر فاكهي جلدي جميل ، للاسف الشديد اداءوه ضعيف للغاية ولم يحقق الهدف المنشود كونه عطر جلدي فخم ، شخصيا افضل راسخ من سيد جنيد كعطر مماثل

I really don’t know TL by TF but I own both Raoyl Leather and Acqau di parma Colonia Leather and they are very similar, even ingredient quality department. I wouldn’t bother to pay more for the Acqua version, Charriol’s is a very nice fragrance inside a very attrative bottle.

Its funny. Those who say this is identical to, or a clone of, Tom Ford Tuscan Leather obviously have not tried Royal Leather. For they are much different scents. I owned TFTL and literally gave it away. The raspberry note was sickening and gave a putrid hair spray note to the entire composition. I own Royal Leather, and it is unlike any other leather scents I have experienced (and I am a leather fragrance lover). This is a very rich black leather, rather hard to explain. Best way I can tell you . . .go to the finest of fine furniture stores in your area . . .ask to see their best black leather sofa . .make sure the price tag is well over $5,000 . . .sick your face into it and inhale! NOW YOU ARE SMELLING THE LEATHER IN ROYAL LEATHER. Now imagine that smell supported beautifully by dried fruit, iris, and sandalwood along with some fleeting spice. There ya have it.
    Sublime!
Available directly from the Charriol website, Geneva.
Sillage and longevity both above average.
*Ordered Royal Leather, along with Philippe and Charriol Man directly from the Charriol website. I received a huge box via FedEx and was quite surprised to find that this large box contained my fragrances nestled in a beautiful gift basket along with substantial samples of their other fragrances and a sweet umbrella. I have spent more on Creed and Bond fragrances and have never received this kind of treatment. Creed and Bond can kiss my . . .

This is absolutely not identical to Tom Ford Tuscan Leather. They are indeed cut from the same cloth and the leather accord in both is painted in isoquinolines. So if you like this particular ‘feel’ of leather (hard stark black modern and luxurious as opposed to a suede, chamois, saddle, boot etc) then you will enjoy this. There are indeed similarities with TFTL but the differences are more important. This hasn’t the same intensity to the ‘raspberry’ note that smells like hairspray and vomit, it is altogether much softer, lighter, and diffused (even more pronounced on female skin, this smells great on Arab ladies). Although light and diffused, it still manages to smell deep and buttery, and smells almost like a slightly more feminized and much much lighter Clive Christian C though I am a male and this smells just great on me. This is certainly unisex. So far it gets a tentative thumbs up, my only gripe is I simply can’t decide whether this smells very expensive or very very cheap.

its quite a smoky leather, if you like masculine leather then go for it. not frutti, not freshly, just a masculine leather. i personally didn’t like the tuscan leather by tom ford, actually tom ford’s version hurts my nose much, as it stars ok but turns odd. i dont know which came first but i prefer this one if there will be any compare.

Almost exactly the same smell of Tuscan Leather, with excellent longevity and very good projection. Not the same performance as the Tom Ford’s one, but at a fraction of it’s price and almost the same quality of scent, with a gorgeous bottle, there is NOTHING to complain about. I get 10 to 14 hours of lasting power and very good projection with this one. It is a huge compliment getter!

    September 4th, 2013. (Edited on Dec. 22nd, 2014)
    Dear Gentlemen and Ladies;
This Charriol Royal Leather is, depending on what you look for, either good or bad. Being more accurate, the main chord smells just like a brand new leather wallet, purse or belt. And if that is what you look for, read on.
The initial leather chord, already mentioned, is loud, and in spite of the subsequent notes, which are detectable, this particular leather chord will be present, I would say, along the entire fragrance’s lifespan. It is only after about half an hour, or a little more, that all that leather will give way to the rest of the composition.
We receive a good quality perfume that dries down on some saffron, dried fruits, followed by woody notes whith a certain resinous aspect in the end.
Now, if you are familiar with Serge Luten’s Fumerie Turque, Michael for Men by M. Kors, or Charriol Royal Platinum, you will understand what I try to explain as it follows.
Charriol Leather is not strange, as I wrote some time ago. It is different. Different from the mainstream. It is also exotic, but very classy, discret and pleasant – just wait for the drydown.
It is not alike Cabochard, Aramis or Bandit. Those cannot compare. Let us just have in mind Charriol Leather does not have the patchouli those fragrances have. It has a character I would call Middle-Eastern. Somewhat arid, reminding of the mysteries of some far-away land in the deserts.
    Beautiful fragrance. I recommend it.

I find a little dificult trying to explain what I think about Charriol Royal Leather, and Charriol Royal Platinum, for that matter. But one thing I am sure of it is not the Chanel/Hermes/Dior/Yves Saint Laurent/etc… we all are acostumed to. No, there is something that says very clearly that this is something completely different. And I don’t mean that it doesn’t smell good, but the whole composition is of anther kind, the approach is not the same, and most of us are not prepared for it, perhaps? Is it nich it leans to? The scent itself is quite inspiring and reminds me of strange foreing places when you first arrive and it smells different from where you come from. It does smell exotic and the saffron note is almost food-like as in a Paella, there is some sweetness from fruit notes, iris and sandalwood/amber,and, of course, the Leather: it is like a piece of leather forniture that has been kept well treated for ages and you feel like loose yourself on it, on its softnes, on its luxurious feel. And when you do that you feel good, you feel richness around you, you feel comfortable. If it smells like TF TL… I cannot tell for I don’t know the TF scent, but although it strangeness at first it does smell good, and yes, the bottle is like a $$$ goods. But, for an EDP, it seems to be very weak, is that a trait of nich fragrances, as my Musc Nomade by AG? Although I can smell it hours later it nedds more than few sprays to take off so close to the skin it stays. I paid about US$ 70 for it, and in Brazil, where a bottle of Bleu de Chanel costs US$ 210, it was a good buy. I hope more people take the leap and share their thoughts with us.

With such a nice bottle, I dont care if it copied and pasted, as long as it is cheaper, and it sure is with Tuscan Leather hitting 160€ in Europe, keep it up Charriol. You kind of assure “us” peasants of some good stuff at a good price and we still can claim to have TF hehehe… anyway, I know its a ripoff but these fragrances can be very expensive, especially TF private line, and if one gets nearly the same juice in such a wonderful bottle, then the better. Right?
