This perfume smells like happiness indeed. It is cheerful, optimistic, lifting-up mood-y, joyful, pink, a little sweet. When I wear this one, a smile is drawn on my face. You can wear it any season, day or night. <3
    Longevity: 12 + hours
    Sillage: heavy

It smells like a strawberry scented pink rose.
In the dry down I get some vanilla and amber that makes it slightly warmer.
It does smell like Miss Dior Cherie but it’s muskier and more rosy, while MDC is sweeter and more patchouli heavy.
It last the whole day with an amazing sillage.
An effervescent, young and happy scent.

Happiness and joy. These are the two words that describe this gem of a perfume. Delicious strawberries surrounded by a freshly picked rose bouquet and a bit of musk, which adds depth and color to this fragrance. My favorite Montale so far. Serotonin in a bottle!

I have bought a tester. On my skin it’s a sweet rose / jasmine opening, wich holds on till the end. Than after a hour there is amber, patchoulli and litlle vanilla.
I love this rose scent! To me it’s better than Eli Saab rose couture. This one makes me feel uplifted and younger. ( Im not old 😉 but also no teenager anymore)
last about 4 hours, wich is, I think very long. Can smell it when I wave my arm or near the skin.

The first time I smelled Rose Elixir was two years ago. I was delighted to discover a lighter version of the well sought after and discontinued Miss Dior Cherie but hadn’t had the opportunity to get myself a bottle until now. It’s unfortunate I didn’t make sure I really liked it still, after these two years. Lately my nose has been exposed to perfumes of higher quality and (more) natural ingredients and this has changed my entire frame of reference regarding scents, smelling and perfumery.
As a result, now, to me Rose Elixir smells extremely plastic-y, artificial and synthetic. I’m not just talking scent wise, but also the substance just feels very chemical.
    Remarkable experience.

i’m not sure i’m reviewing the same perfume going on everyone else’s opinions.
firstly, my decant spray sample arrived today and it’s a very hot day today in sydney. maybe my metal letterbox has acted like a sauna but it hasn’t been sitting out there for hours.
so what i get is a slightly strawberry, a little rose and rising steadily from the ashes is amber/musk. there was an initial note that i dont like but cant put my finger on but it’s gone now. there is only a trace of sweetness and i love sweet , the sweeter the better. i love magnetism and quatre, viva la juicy and gucci eau de parfum II to name a few so this fails miserably IMO. what i’m wearing is a unisex fragrance.
i can only smell it nose to wrist after 15 mins so for me, silage is poor.
at the moment, i wouldn’t purchase a FB but still testing longevity
    will update.

The best Montale for me. It doesn’t take itself too seriously but it’s a highly attractive scent. I concur with the other reviewers that it’s very similar to Miss Dior Cherie, only softer and with less patchouli, yet it somehow manages to be even more addictive.
I’m contemplating whether I should get Pure Gold, and the only thing stopping me from buying it is that it pales in comparison with Roses Elixir. Idk, maybe I should get a back-up bottle of Roses Elixir instead.

Montali’s roses in “Rose Elixir”, are surrended by strowberrys and orange blossoms, that make a sparkling, fruity, young fragrance, but no pungent.
La rosa di “Rose Elixir” è contornata da fragole e fiori d’arancio, che rendono questa fragranza decisamente frizzante, giovane, agrumata ma non pungente.

I think, it’s quite nice. There’s quite strong rose scent and there’s fruity strawberry-like scent.
Sweet, fruity bomb! I have tried many different fragrances by Montale, good and bad ones, this one belongs to the good side.
Worth a try, but I guess I would rather choose Miss Dior.

I grow many fragrant roses and Ive never smelt one that smelt so strong and chemically. Maybe its the fragrance of a cheap plastic rose! If your not familiar with the many different real rose fragrances then you could be forgiven if you refuse to sniff a rose ever again after sniffing this monster. So strong and so horrid. I think its the strawberry, strawberry leaf and musk which are way too heavy here. To be fair my skin does amp up any musk. Sorry but I have to be honest and forewarn others looking to try this. Ive smelt 100s of fragrances and sadly this has got to be one of the very few scrubbers Ive come across.

This is wonderful. I’ve always liked the miss dior cherie’s but something about the strawberry note/musk gave me a sickly stuck in the throat feeling. With montale I am free of that sensation and I get a very nice strawberry rose patchouli scent. A little still goes a long way for me as I did two small sprays in the cleavage with a small decant and really couldn’t imagine wearing more.
If you wish you loved miss dior cherie but find something off you should really try this.

I don’t know why, but my skin seems to eat up Montale fragrances, and they disappear into thin air in no time. This is a pretty rose perfume without the cloying strength that makes them unapproachable, but even if it lasted longer, I wouldn’t consider a full bottle because I feel that it’s too girly for a mature woman.

I am in love with Montale as a perfume brand as they have very unique scents and are incredibly long lasting. This was actually my first perfume that I owned from Montale, which I first purchased about 2 years ago.
I loved it back then and still love this scent, however I feel that I have outgrown it. I have used it halfway and in the meantime I have found other scents from Montale, specifically Roses Musk and Dark Plum that I found slightly more mature but still sweet and loved it more than this. I passed this one on to my younger sister who loves it !
The scent is very girly and young. I think it is one of the youngest fruity scents from the Montale range. Very sweet, the strawberry is definitely dominant. I also smell sweet candy. There is a soft rose throughout, which makes it even more girly. Soft musk and vanilla in the dry down.

A lot of strawberry-roses-citric fruits! Lovely, clean, not so sweet that I expected, but is a cute and very feminine scent.

Roses Elixir is a delightful, feminine strawberry and rose scent.
It opens bright with citrus. The succulent strawberry comes through shortly after with the rose. The rose is very soft to my nose. The strawberry reminds me of the wild strawberries I used to loved to pick and crush with my hands as a little girl. There is a mild astringent scent to the strawberries.
The rose is becoming more noticeable and heady. The strawberry is heavy with sweet creamy white florals in the background. Warmth comes from the amber but doesn’t weight down the scent, Roses Elixir is great to wear during the hot summer months. There is white musk is underneath the rose to keep the scent radiant.
    Roses Elixir is simply wonderful.

I have a 6 year old bottle of Miss Dior Cherie, and compared the scent side by side with this scent. Yes, the opening is similar, but MDC comes off as richer and warmer, much more layered, heavier in patchoulli and sweeter, with tart pineapple/citrus notes balancing the sweetness, MDC comes off as more sophisticated. Roses Elixir is quite pleasant to the nose, but in a more simplistic and plastic-y way, almost smells like a pale imitation of the former BUT it does have its own charms, and it is lighter with alot less patchouli, strawberries and roses are forefront, in a pleasantly quirky-plastic way. Don’t blind buy this expecting it to be a MDC replacement, it’s not.
More than Miss Dior Cherie, Roses Elixir smells like a proper Eau De Parfum version of VS ‘Strawberries & Champagne’…it comes off as ‘very young’ and bubbly. Now, this is coming from an almost-30-year-old who wears Fantasy regularly: I wouldn’t wear this scent, I can see high school girls and college girls wearing this stuff, but the only kind of grown female I can see wearing Roses Elixir convincingly would be a sweet, innocent, cookie-baking type who loves pink and wears floral print dresses, whatever her age…also on offbeat pink-haired girls who like to cosplay as cutesy manga characters.
The strawberry note here is so fluorescent pink and girly-plastic-frills that I find it hard to take seriously. This is what Miss Barbie doll (in all her pink sequinned splendor) would wear if she came to life, not Pink Sugar, not Fantasy, not Flowerbomb…this one. If my descriptions appeal to you, give it a try, the smell itself is okay, ‘nice’, ie. not unpleasant in any way, just overpriced for what it is.

Sweet, bubbly, I can see some resemblance between this and Miss Dior, that same light champagne sweetness mingling with florals, I would say this is a little lighter, and obviously features a more prominent rose, a happy pink scent.

  18. :

    5 out of 5

This opens as a bubbly citrus before smoothly fading into a soft rose aura backed by strawberry. It’s fresh, uplifting and carefree. Pink and feminine but not necessarily girly. I really like strawberry as a note and don’t think it’s used as much as it should be. The rose and strawberry combination makes it slightly jammy but it’s not really gourmand.
It’s undeniably happy and reminds me of Miss Dior Cherie in a way that I didn’t think possible. I love Miss Dior Cherie and was devastated when I heard it was discontinued so when I smelt this I knew that I simply had to buy a bottle. It has that same girly shopping champagne cheer to it. It’s adorable and fun. I think it’s softer than and not as ‘harsh’ as Miss Dior Cherie which I like – infact I think I like Rose’s Elixir more out of the two.
It’s very musky and light almost like a breeze. It’s a perfume you wear when dancing, drinking or picnicking with your friends. It feels like a spring perfume with flowers and bubbles around you. It feels almost like a guilty pleasure perfume that allows you to have fun and give into girly urges. It IS sweet (as I’m sure you were expecting) but not so much so and it loses it’s sweetness as it goes on. It gathers a sort of depth when it settles into it’s warm base of amber and vanilla. It’s slightly powdery and I get a lovely, particularly strong, amber. It has an almost Victorian lace feel.
I really like how Montale does the note of Rose and this feels like a distinctly them perfume. It reminds me of their Intense Cafe of which I love. I find the sillage average but around the four hour mark it turns into a skin scent.

I just received my sample of this and boy am I in love! This is a wonderful blend of sweet roses and fresh fruit, it’s gourmand and yet manages to remain watery and oh just so good. It also reminds me of a Fragonard I smelled a while back, but can’t seem to pin point the name of it. But it definetely is the closest I’ve got until now to the original Miss Dior Cherie, it has that strongness and spicy stickiness and rosey cheekiness, which the new one doesn’t have, but Roses Elixir doesn’t lose its character. To me, it’s like a brunnette walking along in the park with her significant other, talking about antique furniture and drinking black coffee in a cool breezy afternoon. Worth to try it, expect nothing, and you’ll get a dream in a tiny spritz.

  20. :

    3 out of 5

Roses Elixir is very berry sweet. A bit too much jammy-berriness for my liking. I expected the strawberry, so clearly in the notes, but it’s to the point of being too thick and sticky. I find it very cloying. Longevity and projection are both good, but I can’t get over how plain berry it is. And call me crazy, but I even get a tiny root beer vibe. Not a hate for me, but I was expecting something different and…so much more.

I have mixed feelings about this fragrance. I find Roses Elixir to be pleasant, but this is not a stand-out in it’s own category or for Montale.
Mix of rose, strawberry, citrus, white floral, green – although this doesn’t feel juvenile, it falls short to be sophisticated. Something in between. Feels synthetic too.

  22. :

I can’t compare Roses Elixir to Miss Dior Cherie as I’ve never had the pleasure of smelling MDC, but I can say that this bares a striking resemblance to Miss Dior (new). The main difference is that the clean, dark green patchouli note of MDC is not present in Roses Elixir. Other than that, they are essentially the same to my nose: an almost aquatic feeling citrus rose musk with indistinct fruitiness and spiciness. Upbeat, optimistic and radiant. The kind of fragrance that smells good on just about anyone.

  23. :

Lovely! I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, a strawberry fanatic, but this perfume may change that. Roses and strawberry are pretty balanced here, with an undertone of vanilla musk. It’s just so classy, so feminine and happy– makes me want to don a dress and let my hair down. This is no Victoria’s Secret strawberry, there is more depth. It’s quite nice, really!

  24. :

Such an odd performer. When I first put this on my skin I couldn’t smell anything, then 10 minutes later I could smell something very strong and cloying that reminded me of sugared strawberries on fire.
From far away it’s quite pleasant, but very sweet. Up close on the wrist, on my skin, it’s quite overpowering and nostril-burning.
Overall, it kind of reminds me of a slightly more linear Miss Dior Cherie. It shares that same synthetic, syrupy “strawberry” note that smells nothing like strawberries.

  25. :

    5 out of 5

    This is dee-liiiiiicious!
Strawberries, beautiful florals, and just traces of vanilla and musk. Strawberry for grown ups, for women who were once little girls who loved Strawberry Shortcake (the character, not the dessert) like I did!
I still have my bottle of Miss Dior Cherie from when it was first launched, and I must say that I am very happy at the resemblance. I am always afraid my bottle will turn rancid, and then what would I do? I am going to hurry and buy a bottle of Roses Elixir while I can! They are not identical, but they share enough of the same notes and characteristics. I think Roses Elixir smells less complex yet also smells a bit darker, more syrupy, like a strawberry cordial. I do get that bit of green too, which prevents the perfume from being too candy-like. I would prefer to try Roses Elixir in the wintertime. It seems more heavy than fresh.
    Delicious, just DELICIOUS!

I sprayed this on about 4 times and thought, eh, it’s just a sweet fruity scent that’s kind of light. 5 minutes later, it just exploded with strawberry and roses! It was still very light and airy so that it wasn’t cloying, but boy was it sweet! I felt like I was floating on a cloud of cotton candy in a rose mist with a fleeting lemony taste.
When I put my nose closer to my skin, I pick up a muted sour note resting in musk. It seems to counter the sweetness quite well, since there’s nothing else in this mix to really keep it in check. I definitely detect the jasmine in this, as it seems to stand out from all the fruits and pink roses but still somehow remain part of the crowd.
This is a scent that doesn’t develop much. It does deepen a little with a bit of a musky, powdery feel, almost resinous. However, it has a synthetic feel to it, which I don’t fancy too much.
Overall, Roses Elixir is very pleasant and feminine, almost girly, even. It speaks of youth and happy thoughts, of a carefree time when bills and responsibilities don’t matter quite so much.
This lasted around 6-7 hours on me, with the last two hours being rather soft, otherwise sillage was rather decent.

  27. :

This is a very feminine, adorable fragrance. I am definitely considering purchasing this one. It’s opening note is strawberry leaf, I own an Arabian fragrance by Maryaj with the same note. It’s kind of fruity. You get a somewhat rose composition but overall it’s a creative interpretation of rose – if full blown rose fragrances are not your thing and you want to smell romantic, get a sample of this. It’s not strong or grandma rose – hardly any sign of any rose to be honest but I can detect ingredients that make rose accords like geraniol. Die hard rose fans won’t really find the kind of rose you find in roses musk or aoud ranges.
Edit: After 8 hours I could still smell it, a strawberry leaf accord that’s white musky but very soft. It reminds me of a more watered down version of Revlon Reflections. I didn’t want to make the connection earlier today but it does have something about it that is like Reflections. I think this one would be adorabe for a night out when the air is colder and crisp. I think that’s a personal thing though – so I don’t want it to detract from the fragrance but I didn’t enjoy it following me all day in a warm aired office, I think worth sampling for sure. It’s beautifully composed and keeps on going! Definitely don’t get rose from it at all.

Very true Rose scent with hints of strawberry.
    Not overly sweet .
    Subtle ,with great longevity .
For the price I will pass –
but it would make a very nice everyday Rose scent
Edit~~~ the drydown is rather unique ~~ but still for the price I pass .

Wearing Roses Elixir I feel very feminine and sexy. I agee with most of you, it remdins Miss Dior Cherie, but only at the beginning. After one hour, you feel a mix of strawberry (dominating) and vanilla. No doubt, something very sweet, but is what I lke.
To beb honest…by the name you expect somthing different: rose is there but strawberry is superior.
Compared to Miss Dior Cherie, it is more “fashionable”, easier and more sophisticated.
It is only for women and it is preferable in autumn and winter, because of vanilla which gives an accent of warm.
I agree that it is not of the most original fragrance, but I love it.

  30. :

This is nice and I say: nice. Not a compliment for a Montale.
I expected much more, instead I got a over sweet mix of red fruits, strawberry and some rose oil.
    I much prefer Roses Musk.

  31. :

    5 out of 5

Roses Elixir is not what I expected. I was hoping to get something like rose essential oil with a fruity twist, and I received a sample vial of strawberry sweets.
It’s extremely hard for me to detect rose in this frag. Roses Elixir is really all about strawberry and vanilla for me. It is indeed very similar do Miss Dior Cherie, but – strangely enough – while I couldn’t stand MDC, I tend to like Montale’s juice. Perhaps it’s because Roses Elixir does not include caramel note and seems to have something I call a perfume backbone. It’s not just an empty, cloying cloud of sweetness, but has this nice juiciness into it.
Not very sophisticated, but truly wearable. Decent sillage and longevity. Worth trying out.

Like some other reviewers, I find this scent to be a big disappointment as well. The opening note is a pretty sugared rose and it could have developed into a pleasant gourmand, but the scent veers downhill more and more to my nose. A syrupy sweet strawberry note enters weighed down by indolic jasmine and orange flower and made even heavier by musk and amber. This is a heavy treacle of a scent that became more and more unpleasant to my nose, the longer I left it on my skin. At the final drydown the strawberry leaf comes out, but clashes so much with the uber-sweetness of the rest of the fragrance that it is an out of place green overwhelmed by the other notes. This could have been pleasant if done with a much lighter hand.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

Roses Elixir is a beautiful combination of roses and strawberries with some green notes and a musky base. Stranglely I can’t smell any vanilla or amber. I don’t find it particularly sweet as many other reviewers do but rather fresh and bit tart.
I don’t get the similarity with Miss Dior Chérie either… Actually to my nose MDC smells like caramelized strawberries with strong patchouli notes whereas Roses Elixir is a very fruity floral. The star is strawberry, really. You have to be a fan of strawberries to fully enjoy this composition.

  34. :

    4 out of 5

On opening especially, this is significantly similar to Miss Dior Cherie 2011.
Roses Elixir has a bit more of a green scent (maybe the strawberry leaves) and is a bit more woody. It also seems stronger.
MDC is a little sweeter and fresher, but they are remarkably similar. I already have MDC so won’t be seeking a bottle of this though it is nice.

MONTALE ROSES ELIXIR is one of my favorite rose scents (sharing the top spot with Tauer’s Une Rose Vermeille). I am not a big rose lover but this one appeals to my gourmand side somehow.
It’s a creamy and juicy blend of roses and strawberry during the initial blast. There’s the citrusy sweetness coming out a few minutes after. A surprising luscious characteristic also rears its head but ever so slightly and does not go on a full-blown vanilla elation … which I probably would have loved even more if it did. As time passed, the scent I get from my skin is now dominated by the sweet scent of an actual fresh rose … green leaves and all with the backdrop of succulent strawberry, fresh musk and subtle vanilla. Upon checking the notes here on the database, I guess the leaf I am getting is derived from the strawberry leaf note.
Hours after, the gorgeous scent of Roses Elixir continue to linger on my skin … delectable, sweetened roses .

It is ever so interesting to read how different people’s views are on a fragrance. If I had just read RosaMilena’s I would have never even sampled this because I am not a huge fruity/strawberry fan. But I didn’t and what I got from this was completely different (though her review is AMAZING!) I got the blast of rose from this right away and its not your typical rose scent, it is more creamy/pungent rose I don’t know which. But I love the citrus note that I get right after. When it warms up on my skin I git a very sugary vibe which I will attribute to the vanilla. I put it on this morning and I can still smell it all around me so far I am looking at 5 hours now. That’s pretty good in my book. I really am pleased with this find.

  37. :

    3 out of 5

Rose Elixir opens and cruises through the central notes with a bucket full of candied strawberry fruit compote. A dash of roses, a bit of fruit juice, a tiny whiff of orange blossom round out the strawberry dessert. I happen to like strawberries which is a good thing. There is no gourmand excess other than this particular event thankfully. The vanilla is reasonably restrained. The ambergris and musk bolster the entire decadently rich fruitiness into a marginally elegant drydown.
But really it’s all about strawberries. It could easily be a fruity chypre if they just threw in some oakmoss and a tad of patchouli. This actually reminds me a great deal of Miss Dior Cherie EDP 2011 with it’s stewed strawberries as well. As fruity florals go, it’s an excellent fruity floral. Those who truly enjoy strawberry will love this.

An oudless rose perfume from the house of Montale? Yes, here it is: ROSE ELIXIR. This creation really caught me off guard. First, I assumed that the “elixir” would be amber or benzoin or some other resinous note(s). In fact, the elixir is a super sweet and concentrated fruit syrup! My guess was “red berries,” but strawberries are identified as the primary source of the fruitiness of this composition. These are not straight-up strawberries, though. No, they have been cooked and reduced in a vanilla sugar syrup to produce a liquid with the viscosity of an elixir but the flavor of a candy. An all-natural, delicious, sparkling and bright candy, but it is candy nonetheless. By the drydown, some of the sugar syrup has evaporated away, leaving behind a very nice layer of rose, but this perfume really is quite sweet for an hour or so.
It may seem difficult to believe that Montale would release a fruity-floral perfume such as this, and I have no doubt that there were some disgruntled blind buyers who assumed that this would be a part of what one of my fragrant friends refers to as “the holy rose trinity” of Montale rose perfumes: OUD ROSE PETALS, ROSE MUSC, and OUD DAMASCUS. No, ROSE ELIXIR, defying its name, is much closer to Yves Saint Laurent PARISIENNE. If that happens to be your genre, then you cannot go wrong with this scrumptious-smelling candied strawberry rose, but only fruity-floral lovers need apply!

  39. :

    3 out of 5

Definitely smells sweet, sweet, sweet at the beginning. I’m fine with it though, because it’s fruity-sweet, not sugary-sickly sweet. Over time the fruity smells abate, and I’m left with more of the rose. It’s a very pretty rose, actually, and you can smell the other florals in there as well. Compared to other fruity-floral perfumes, this is far more based in the fruity smell rather than the floral, but it’s a nice change from most other floral-fruity perfumes. It doesn’t smell department-store to me, honestly, the layering of the fruity smells is just too rich for that.

  40. :

This fragrance smells more yummy strawberries rather roses. Another one roses disappointment by Montale.

  41. :

    4 out of 5

Was disappointed: too much chemical, too sweet, seems to spray plastic , and doesn’t take a definite direction. He wants to please the lovers of pink fruity, but in reality disgusted – not caresses, pinching and not only gracefully – . A ‘missed opportunity: in the species is easy find much better.

This is so pretty and fresh, it’s a luscious Rose, sparkling and fizzy, like Champagne! The sweet strawberries & citrus notes are all here. It’s a “True Rose” smells so real….mmmm I will be buying a bottle, perfect for spring/summer and for Celebrating!

    I just LOVE this perfume!
To me it’s a mystical blend of roses, musk, white flowers, vanilla and amber.
It’s so fresh and uplifting yet it’s still classy and elegant and beautiful.
When I wear it a lot of heads turn, and I get asked a lot about it 😉
It’s also sweet makes u feel so special like a princess 😉
It’s strange but I don’t smell as much strawberry in it.. To me it’s more floral and musky.
It’s staying power is great! It’s one of few perfumes which can actually linger around and stay on you clothes for a whole week!! WOW
The scent greets you upon opening your closet! (if you hadn’t washed the perfumed piece yet)
On my skin it stays all day and sometimes to the next morning (until I shower!)
    I LOVE YOU Roses Elixir!
    THANK YOU Montale!
This is my first Montale perfume and it won’t be the last 🙂

Sweet and slightly boozy, Roses Elixir is an energetic, bright fragrance. This is my favorite “vacationey” rose, perfect for days when you don’t want to take anything seriously. It starts out bright and citrusy, but after a few minutes it develops into to an almost chocolately, creamy warmth. It makes me think of chocolate covered strawberries, fresh roses, and champagne! It hints of La Rose Angel, occasionally, which I love, but this is unique, and perfectly fun.

  47. :

    5 out of 5

Sweet and fun scent at first..then becomes floral, sharp and tart with a little hint of musk. The jasmine I can detect very much and the orange flower. On first spray, I thought this was going to be an instant love for me. However, the very tart-y floral dry down is a bit much for me and it makes me want to wash off this scent. Very green. Good scent for spring.

I hated it first! Smelled VERY floral and..synthetic and just really BAD!!! But after a couple of hours it turned into very nice fresh, strawberry smell..But I don´t know if it is worth buying a perfume just because of the drydown..

  49. :

This is very synthetic and horrible. I have to remove the sample from my sample box because it messes with the smell of other samples

  50. :

I don’t find this overly sweet at all. I actually really smell the earthiness of the strawberry leaves at first. The rose is prominent but quite green, then the musk, a hint of white florals. It is actually a smidgen like Victoria’s Secret Strawberries and Champagne in the beginning. There is a slightly dry bittersweetness that I would liken to a rose wine or a sparkling white maybe, or perhaps a mixture of both. Pulpy earthy strawberry. The notes are blended very well. Wow, the musk gets very lovely as it wears on. Very very gorgeous slightly sweet natural muskiness. Mmm. It has really nice sillage. You’d only need a spritz or two. The drydown is beautiful.

If you were to check this rose’s petals I’m sure you would find quite a few cavities. She apparently has a sweet tooth. (so to speak) I’m not sure it’s entirely her fault though. She was obviously born to like the sweeter things in life.
This rose smells like she’s been dipped in vanilla and then rolled in strawberry sugar. If you are prone to headaches from perfume I’d RUN at even a glimpse of the box on this one. The sweetness is unrelenting and devours the rose entirely.Poor thing~she never had a chance.

Initial notes of lemon and water blooming into white flowers and orange blossom, peony and bitter citruses. On dry-down makes me think of lace and porcelain dolls. A sweet yet decidedly unromantic scent, friendly and innocent. Candied angel wings and dried orange curls. Almost Victorian as it fades away over hours into sugared lemon, roses and vanilla.

This Montale is too tart and sour for my taste. I can smell roses but only faintly because of all the other things mixed in. Not my favorite.

All day enjoying wearing my sample of Roses Elixir I have been reminded of some scent I used to wear long ago — but was unable to identify until just now: Spiritual Sky Strawberry Perfume Oil!
This Montale is a beautiful, upscale, wonderfully-made, rich and lovely scent similar to that sweet, cheap oil.
That said, I DO love it but would only wear it in private for my inner flower child; roses and strawberries are not what I equate with sophistication or allure! Peace, love and harmony, though, absolutely!

    I like this one too!
Sweet strawberry with roses and again, a touch of salt background.
Remind me Elle de Yves St-Laurent but way better. More natural.
Like this and want something like that for my GF.
edit: oct 03, My GF like it but not greatly. Too sweet for her.

I’ve been on a serious rose kick for a while. Over the past year, I’ve sampled different renditions of the Queen of Flowers—sweet, innocent, sharp, or mysterious—and some of these have left a lasting imprint on the landscape of my olfactory experiences, so I was excited to try Roses Elixir.
Roses Elixir is a green interpretation of the flower. The rose is not prominent to my nose; rather, it serves to highlight the herby, green notes and strawberry leaves (more so than the fruit itself). The fragrance is sometimes described as sweet, but the sweetness is barely there. The rose makes a subdued appearance in the heart of the perfume, toward its second stage, and the base is almost chypre-like.
The notes list vanilla though I don’t register this note well. Overall, this is a fresh, summery, well-crafted take on green, citrus rose that is only a tad sweet. In fact, it reminds me of a couple of Les Parfums de Rosine creations where the rose is similarly used to accent other elements.
As for my personal preferences, I liked Roses Elixir well enough, but it would not replace my favorite Hermessence Rose Ikebana, which is also fresh, but is juicier, fruitier, and livelier than Roses Elixir. Although Roses Elixir doesn’t
