Description

Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme Intenso is a new, refined edition of the Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme from 2012. It launches in winter 2014.

Dolce & Gabbana Intenso is an aromatic woody fragrance that exudes elegance representing a contrast between clean, fresh and rich, warm aromas. Announced as the scent of pure instinct and emotion that is express freely; the fragrance is the force of a determined man, with a heart that is rooted in tradition, yet revels in the modern world.

The composition opens with fresh aquatic notes and green nuances of basil and lavender. The new chord in the world of fragrance Moepel wood from South Africa makes the heart with its luxurious floral, balsamic and honey accents. Tobacco is deepened by dry notes of hay absolute and bran. The intensity and strength of the composition come from the base of labdanum, sandalwood and cypress.

The face of the advertising campaign is actor Colin Farrell. The fragrance comes in a brown bottle of the original form as 40, 75 and 125 ml Eau de Parfum.

    Solid and underrated fragrance.
Green with intense tobacco leaf note and masculine lavender.
Oldshcool gents recipe with a modern kick.
Good value for money with respectable quality and performance.

It’s taken me a while to figure out if I would be able to wear Intenso easily.
On my skin it gradually makes its way and loses a bit the metallic vein after 2 hours or so.
At that point, I love it.
Nevertheless, I get a bit tired of it after a while and have to mix it with a warmer scent.

  3. :

This fragrance is an excellence that does not affect everyone immediately. I start by saying that a scent must make one think of something warm or something fresh. From the opening it is clear that the aquatic notes are very invasive and this makes tobacco a poor tobacco! However the basil saves the situation together with the herbaceous notes. Complex perfume, I really liked it!

I like this fragrance. Sweet, powdery, darker than Dolce & Gabbana for men. I get about 5 hours on my skin. It has a nice Bubu (insider) softness to it.

Smells like the old Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme, except it’s wrapped in a damp cardboard box full off All Bran.

i finished a bottle of this. and hardly finished really. it is incredibly powdery ! it is very cloying . sometimes gave me a headache thing . if you want to wear this just try it in the winter.

I bought this about 5 years ago and I’ve only worn it twice, because all I get is an offputting black licorice smell from it.

I recently procured a 75ml bottle of this fragrance at a deeply discounted price.
For a designer fragrance…the scent is quite good if you like darker fragrances.
It is not a Niche fragrance…know that going into it and you’ll be ahead of the curve.
It’s wet, somewhat heavy and boggy with some earthy appeal…
moist, damp..mossy ….a mysterious cypress hill by the bog.
    somewhat dark and somewhat aromatic.
Deep browns and very dark somwhat waxy dark greens…
Even some lighter grey….but that’s the lightest color you’ll get.
And for that reason..I do enjoy this fragrance.
I don’t wear fragrances for the joy they bring to others…..
    I do it for myself.
I would also like to add ……
For a fragrance labeled Intenso……It’s not very intense, but I’m ok with that.
It colors my Ambiance with a nice dark veil of mysterious mossy wilderness.
    The Verdict: I Dig It.

Hard to describe this one but it smells good and that’s all that counts. Sophisticated, mature but still sexy. It seems super affordable too just check it out on Amazon but be sure it says “Ships from and sold by Amazon.com” because there are other sellers on there and the last thing you want to be stuck with is a fake or spoiled bottle. Right now a 2.5 oz. bottle is going for $34 so it’s a great bargain considering I paid around that for a 1.3 oz. bottle at T.J. Maxx last year.

Dolce&Gabbana Pour Homme Intenso is a nice scent. I happen to really really like it but I find it is not wearable enough for me. It is a dark scent. A really nice fall/winter and even cool spring day/night scent, but for me that season is really non-existent.
With Intenso, i get a lot of lavender and some watery note in the open, in the mid it is tobacco and hey dominant and the base is slightly woody but the tobacco is the star note and the hey is really unique too. It gives the fragrance a classic masculine edge, something a little too uncommon this day and age. Most male scents are safe, this isn’t.
Intenso is really good when it is cool or on a rainy day. It works as a work scent, a date scent and even upscale. I wouldn’t wear it to the club or casually though. That said, it isn’t strong even as an intense Eau de Parfum sadly. I find it only projects moderately for about an hour and a half. It lingers for about another four hours, so you’ll get nearly a workday from the typical three sprays.
I happen to really really like Intenso and rate it a 7.8 out of 10, but it isn’t wearable where I live. If I lived in New York like I use to, I would wear it a lot, but in Arizona I simply cannot. Sadly this is one of those scents that smell great, perform good, but your location doesn’t agree with it.

very strange perfume … you sniff it directly it really S**ks .. you spray it in the air then its F***ing fabulous ..
best way to wear it is spray it as far from your nose , and once the silage kicks in you & the guys around you will really love it .
    8/10 for me.

I was gifted a vintage D&G Pour Homme around 7 years ago by a good friend. It was so good I used it sparingly, only on special occasions (weddings, formal events, Christmas get-togethers – you get the idea).
Well, imagine my delight as I read the reviews on D&G PH Intenso, By God, to be able to smell the classic scent again! I wasn’t disappointed; I revisited the basil and lavender, honey and tobacco, sandalwood, cypress and amber masterpiece like saying hello again to a dear, treasured friend,
    For all of 30 minutes.
    What a letdown!
Make it last longer, the name is SO misleading !!

I love it. The tabacco is very smooth on my skin. The lavender pop’s up also very nice. Good sillage.
    I agree on this 100%:

Recently purchased this in the parfum version going for longevity, unfortunately I found it to last about two hours and projection seems to be minimal, after dry down it just sits close to my skin. I wear it to work and was hoping to find that ‘signature’ fragrance. Certainly a day frag, to me not a ballsy night scent that screams – I have arrived. My old signature was D&G By Man and it’s dear as poison if you can get your hands on it these days and on the first spray opening bring an ever so slight reminder before it offers up D&G pour homme – but without the kick. It has that D&G men’s signature note and being a wearer of these since the 90’s I can’t miss it. Very citrusy on the opening, fresh but I can’t register the tobacco or too much woods in it, but I get the bergamont and a little lavender. It’s basically a lighter version of Pour Homme IMHO and certainly shouldn’t be labelled ‘Intenso’ as there’s nothing Intense about it. Sad that it has to be reapplied by the 4hr mark on an 8hr shift. I like it, but it won’t be a repeat purchase for me.

If Barbasol made an EDT (or in this case, EDP), it would be this. I mean this in the best of ways; I’ve always thought that the smell of Barbasol is amazing once it’s been rinsed and sitting on you for a little. Obviously this smells better than shaving cream but the scent is very similar.

Very unusual “green” open, which I guess is the hay. Because of this open and the reports of this smelling not so great on some people’s skin, I would recommend you not blind buy. The lavender is inoffensive to me and I mostly HATE lavender. The tobacco is warm and sweet but not spicy like it is in CK Shock One or Fortitude. Becomes a seductive leather and tobacco with tonka and honey accent on my skin. I think people who are reporting a “soapy” smell are very focused on the florals and sandalwood or have very different skin chemistry to me. It is slightly soapy on my skin, and I actually really like it as a fragrance for when I immediately get out the shower, as it’s usually getting into the leather stage while I’m getting dressed. The bottle and font suits the scent. Clearly for fall, winter, or a formal event at night. I get near loud sillage on this and about five hours on my skin. I’m new to sampling/collecting but this seems very distinctive based on my shallow exploration so far. I like this enough that I will likely get more when I run out.

The dolce gabbana intenso is a good fragrance. In my opinion likeable. Not necessary a one i will choose over others though.when it opens you can immediately smell the floral accents, when settling down tobacco and hay start to come in better.i guess longevity is not that very good and sillage is moderate. I ll give it a 6.5 out of 10

If this all notes will someday workout better it will be awesome, now just perhaps marigold and hay i do fill like somwhere in nature on the country side, it is kind of farmaceutical healing vibe, then again first i get somthing very acid (citruses but not mentiond in notes) from this fragrance i just dont know what the hell is going on with my nose,…so maby some other day willget better impression, sorry “Intenso”.

The opening was nice. It smelled a lot like Pour Homme, but a bit stronger. After a few hours though, it lost anything that I liked about it initially. It’s hard to say what I don’t like about it, but I just don’t find it pleasant.

  25. :

    5 out of 5

I want to like this fragrance but cannot get over how off-putting I find the opening. Too sharp and definitely intense.
It may just be me though, as wearing this has garnered me some decent reactions on the few times I’ve ever worn it.

  26. :

This one has that dg the one vibe, just intenso had rich tobacco and lavender, perfect for a colder day, longevity and performance was around 6-7 hours, suits for a mids 20,30,matured guy,
    Overall 8 /10..

  27. :

    4 out of 5

This one bothers me! I can’t pin down what’s wrong with it, perhaps the sombre barnyard feeling combined with tobacco and basil. The sillage is soft but persistent. To me it sorta smells like a wannabe Pour Monsieur nodding at The One. As a woman, I don’t like it one bit.

  28. :

    3 out of 5

Not a bad frag but nothing special as usual. I think with a name like “intenso” it would last a lot longero BUT NOTHING! Same old formulation with more tobacco… Come on D&G.. LET IT GO FALL DAWG IT’S OVER wth this one!

Similarity with the Invictus, that way. 85% similarity.
50% of similarity with Pour Homme

  30. :

    4 out of 5

this one has no similarity with invectus
it smells just like the original with much more tobacco lavender notes
the drydown is not good as the opening
    longevity is 8-10 hours
    average fragrance

  31. :

    3 out of 5

As other people said before is a weak frag that lasts a couple of hours max.
Not bad smell it is nice but for these money you can find something much better.
Just a safe option for the office, not totally waste of money but it could last longer and the projection should be much better.
Pass if you really want a DG frag choose the Pour Homme it is almost the same but lasts longer.

  32. :

nothing special here, it lacks the strength, the depth and the quality, it has a shampoo vibe more than a fragrance. I think D&G were trying to bring up a scent similar to the one but directed more towards the younger crowd.
Longevity was 2 hours on my skin, poor sillage, doesn’t worth
    the price imho.

Only thing I have to say about this juice here is “”oh buddy”” this juice reminds me of when I was wearing my RL wool pee coat in the winter time shopping in SOHO..

Today I tried it for fourth time with full wearing to re-estimate it. It’s a nice scent for those who are not into fragrances. It’s also nice for a present. Suitable for fall, spring and some cool summer days. Very generic and quite annoying for my nose. I think the hay, the water notes and the basil spoil it. The opening is unbearable for my nose, too much spices, but fortunately, it doesn’t have loud projecton and sillage so if I keep my nose way from my skin, it’s okay. After some time when the first blast of aromas vanish, remains a slightly unpleasant and harsh scent on my skin. It has a cheap quality imo and it’s performance is moderate, about 4-4.50 hours, unacceptable for its concentration. I wouldn’t recommend it because of the harshness and the cheap feeling that it has.

I want to hate the creamy, metrosexual nature of this. I want to write a bad review about how it smells like a single dad at the mall trying to hit on the young girls in the food court.
    I can’t.
    Damn.
    This is really good.

    D&G intenso.
This holds a special place for me.
Was gifted to me 3 years ago when I was not in fragrance game. Still use to wear it for heck of it and gave me great compliments. Fast forward 3 years I have used , I can say dozen of perfumes and coming back to this beauty I can’t believe what masterpiece this is! Hay and tobacco notes are just amazing and gives it a manly , rich, complex vibe, now I understand all compliments I got. Will buy again for sure.
    Great work D&G.

I like this. However, it loses A LOT of its character after the second hour (to my nose at least). It’s extremely reminiscent of OG Dolce and Gabbana (Pour Homme with the sticker) but that one stayed “full body” forever. In college, women would call me 12 hours after I left in the morning to tell me that the sheets “smelled like [me].” This scent allowed me to reminisce, but with a bit of sadness that those days (and that fragrance) are long gone.
This is nice, a bit more tame than my former “Holy Grail” Pour Homme. A bit of a twist on that original scent, a sprinkle of baby powder or a dash of Bleu de Chanel maybe.
I’m “on the fence” about buying a full bottle. At its price point, I can’t see why I won’t jump over that fence.
Update: I bought it. Something I find fascinating, the original D&G For Homies smelled the same (to me) from the moment you put it on to the moment the chick smelled it on her sheets the next day. This stuff does not. It completely transforms into a skin scent by the end of the day, but one that smells like a Bleu De Chanel or a Platinum Egoiste after it’s spent the day on your arm.

My gf wears it… which kind of bothers me considering how much I like it now that I’ve gotten into fragrances, not to mention it’s more on the masculine side. Smells good on her and I see it as unisex for sure, though. Personally one of my favourites, so I’m a bit surprised with that dislike bar.
If you love tobacco, D&G does it perfectly. This is unique and lasts quite a long time although it does sit a bit closer to the skin. It’s dark and mysterious, but also aromatic and fresh… I think you can wear this any season and any time.
    Scent: 8.5/10
    Longevity: 7/10
    Projection: 7/10
    Versatility: 9/10

First of all this really lasts on me and secondly it’s a wonderful clean mix of bleu de chanel and versace dreamer ..two of the greatest ever have morphed in intenso and wow this is good ..it really does garner compliments also , classy and very Italian in presentation and blend. The scent is extremely versatile and can be worn for almost any occasion and season, it’s a solid 8 out of ten for me. I overlooked this because of the mixed reviews grr

    Masterpiece from D&G

As I really love the original, I got that one based on the stronger concentration. Very similar to my nose to the original, minus the citrus note. Definitely a darker scent, it feels dusty and musky, with a strong tobacco and lavender note. I actually really enjoy it, yes the performance could definitely be improved, as for The One or the current Pour Homme formulation, I see that one as a date or office scent. The girlfriend likes it and actually noticed it from far a couple of times.
Scent: 10/10 (if you’re a fan of the original)
Projection: 5/10 (very quickly turns into a skin scent but I suspect olfactory fatigue)
    Sillage: 7/10

  42. :

    3 out of 5

I tested this… I like the scent, it reminds me of CK Eternity for men. My honest opinion is that I find it very hard to believe this is an EDP (Eau De Parfum). on my skin this was very poor performance, lasted about 4-5 hours maximum and I could only smell it if I really put my nose up to where I applied it.
    scent – 7/10
    projection – 4/10
    Longevity – 5/10
Weather – all year, but probably Spring is best
    Occasion – Formal and classy
    Age group – 25+

Nor impressed, low sillage and longevity, harsh fragrance. I have much better and will likely not re-purchase.

This is not one of my first alternatives I think of when I’m going to choose I fragrance from my collection to wear, (I don’t know why). But when I wear this, mostly for day use, I really appreciate this fresh, clean vibe. I like that it has a slight sweet aroma. On the whole it performs good. Longevity is acceptable, but perhaps it lacks a little perform in projection. Not bad for work, school or a casual walking in the afternoon.

There are not many men’s fragrances I wear regularly, but the soft musk and botanical elements in this make it a clear winner. It is unique and it does wear very close, making it perfect for winter. I hope to scent all my fluffiest sweaters and scarves in it!

As if it were the notable son of D & G Pour Homme (1994) and Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme (2012), or even a more sober version of these quoted, Intenso Pour Homme of this griffe, becomes more intimate, and at the same time that to evidence its prestige, it is also noted its attachment to the origins. In its top the herbal note of basil is so present, along with other fresh notes, common to its predecessors. In the transition, the charm of the tobacco is clearly felt, with its nuances potentiated with notes of hay and dry/docilized bran, as well as the unprecedented balsamic notes of milkwood balsam (which resembles tolu’s balsam), still bearing the sclarea sage note. The base notes, on the other hand, contain sandalwood, cypress wood, amber and musk, maybe coumarin or a subtle tonka bean, beautifully enclosed this woody, legitimately masculine scent that carries the typical image of the executive, a man dressed in a suit and carrying a work folder.

Hmmmm, I don’t get it! I fairly like intenso and although I didn’t get a massive amount of compliments, I did however get complimented twice by women on the first time of me using it.
Lasts about 5 hours for me, but after the first hour it only really sits around my skin.
Another one that is a good buy for the office as it is relatively cheap, quite nice but you will probably need to reapply it a couple of times if you do like getting a whiff of yourself from time to time! 😀
    UPDATE!
This was actually based upon a couple of sample bottles that I received instore, bought the bottle and to me it seems noticeably weaker than the samples?! It’s now a skin scent straight after 5 minutes and I’m lucky if I catch a waft after a couple of hours! 🙁

  49. :

    5 out of 5

I received a miniature dabber bottle of this from Sephora a few months ago and am just now getting around to using it. Before I looked at the notes, my impression was that it was fresh and spicy, with an aquatic top note. It’s not an extraordinary scent, but I enjoy this genre so I can see myself reaching for this often if I had a larger bottle. (I especially like the lavender, basil, and tobacco combination.) Just wish it lasted longer. It does seem somewhat weak for an eau de parfum.

I seem to generally go against the general likes/dislikes here on fragrantica, and it’s no exception with this one. Gosh-darn, is this delicious on my man!! I am always up against his skin, sniffing. It is different and long-lasting yet not overpowering. As another reviewer mentioned: I could see this being borderline unisex; but I am going to let my man wear this and not be tempted to put it on myself. This is what I want my guy to smell like. It is clean, a little bit mysterious, and sexy as all get-out! Warm yet not too musky, just the right amount of warmth that to me says ‘come closer..’. Sometimes musk and warm notes for me are too overpowering, but they got it blended perfectly here. My man wears this, and I am always smack-right-up by his side…yummy and not heavily sugary sweet at all, like so many fragrances are these days, just a very subtle sweetness blended in with everything else. I guess it is the lavender that is so ‘warm’ and ‘comforting’. I do not get any tobacco in this. I definitely get the water notes. I can barely detect the musk or the amber, but I am sure they are still mingling with the other notes nicely. I like that there are spice notes in this. It all just combines to a very yummy, I always want to be beside you, deliciousness. Not very heavy, unless you overload on the application. Lasts about 6 to 8 hours. A winner, in our book!! A nice refreshing change in what feels like so many men’s (and women’s) fragrances all smell alike anymore.

  51. :

    5 out of 5

Just tried this out in the shop, while trying for fun to find a man’s perfume that would fit the guy I like. Turns out, it smells amazing… on me. Frankly, I think it’s unisex. I think I’ll go back to buy it for myself, I love it! It’s fresh and sweet, but quite strong at the same time. I thought for sure it would have mint in it, but it must have been the basil I was detecting.
And the smell is nothing like what you would expect from a fragrance named ‘Intenso’. A lot of other reviewers mentioned that, and I completely agree.
Edit after more than a week days. I’ve been wearing this for a while now and I can’t seem to get enough of it! Usually I have to change perfumes every 3-4 days or so because of nose fatigue (can’t sense it anymore). This one I can still sense after over 10 days. Very relaxing and soothing, and it smells great on me as a woman. A little bit more masculine than women’s fragrances, but that suits me, since I’m far from an elegant lady. Besides, most women’s fragrances are far too cloying and heavy and just not sweet enough for my tastes, and it takes me a long time to find a perfume for women that I like. It took me 5 minutes to find Intenso after wandering over to the men’s section.

@Joeyvice – I definitely agree with you! As a huge fan of Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme I also grew up wearing the original Dolce & Gabbana.. I also was disappointed when the fragrance I loved so much was reformulated & drastically changed.. Nevertheless I began to appreciate the current Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme for what it is, & I enjoy it in a completely different way from how I enjoy the original formula.. When Dolce & Gabbana first announced that they were releasing “Intenso” I had never been as excited for a flanker ever before & because of that I actually became one of the first people in the USA to even own a bottle of Intenso! At first spray I absolutely loved it! I still don’t see how any fan of Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme could not appreciate Intenso.. Yes, Intenso is a “intense flanker” of the current reformulated re-issued form of Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme not the original & that is very apparent yet due to the warmer darker notes like hay, bran, & sandalwood Intenso also does have a lot in common with the original formula of Pour Homme! Yes, Intenso is a modern day flanker & hence it won’t exactly live up to the beauty of the original Dolce & Gabbana but we are living in a different time.. Fragrances are no longer what they used to be.. Besides all of that Intenso is a gorgeous fragrance which uses the Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme DNA yet gives us something new & something a bit different.. I will never understand all the negativity this fragrance has received.. Those that have dismissed it should really give it another try!

Well, well, well. Look at all the hate we have here. I’ve worn D&G Pour Homme for 13 years now. Back in the day, as an overly anxious high school boy, I used to go through those “Made In Italy” bottles like they were going out of style, little did I know…they were. After years of that wonderful smell that came from those magic bottles labeled with the sticker, I was inevitably greeted by the bland, lifeless junk that comes in the Made In Germany/ Made In U.K bottles with the writing printed on the glass. They were nothing like the old formulation, terrible, no projection, no heart, just kind of there. That brings me to INTENSO, as someone who absolutely adored the original Pour Homme, and was quite familiar with it, I must say Intenso is at least on the same wave length as the Original Pour Homme. I can smell it in this, and hot damn, it’s far closer to the Original Pour Homme than the yellow juice they’re trying to pass off as D&G Pour Homme today. Not only is Intenso closer, it’s far longer lasting than the reformulation. So, haters hate away, but this one, at least to me, smells like I got a good old friend back.

I bought an aftershave balm to my dad as a Christmas gift. It smells really intense and natural. Very luxurious quality product. I hope that he will like it.

Amazing fragrance! Harks back to the old school D & G Pour Homme days !
Now for the bad news: Lasts all of 25 minutes.
    INTENSOly disappointing.

Honestly I love this fragrance. But don’t let the name mislead you, this is an edt not an edp. It just has the name intenso.
Now that thats out of the way, I love this fragrance. One of the best night-time, date, winter fragrance that I own. I am not a person who likes fragrances that everyone around smells me or even to the point that you could kind of taste the fragrance because it is so strong. Not me. This is a perfect fragrance that smell great, lets you get close to a girl and if she want to cuddle. Great fragrance for night usage.

Smells good to me. It does have an intense smell to it! Much like the original PH but with a deeper/darker vibe. Last 5-6 hours on my skin

One of my new favorites right now, i dont understand why so many dislikes on this creation because is not a simple perfume. The smell is complex and more than a re-worked fragance and maybe need to understand some points in the smell experience.
Very aromatic with big projection, opulent and versatile in any occasions are the big hits but not just about sillage. Intenso is not just soapy, you can find a nice floral-herbal transition to a velvety ambar tune mixed by some balsamic/medicinal friendly smell that make a fragance in intensity and strength in high level. To me, intenso put a new step in thinking how a fragance can change in positives views. Past is past, i cant stand the classic D&G but Intenso is other creation.

Intenso is a poor name for it, as it doesn’t reflect the smell at all.
The smell itself is weird. It’s rich & aromatic?!
I can’t really categorize it, but it smells like rich old people.
I tried it for the tobacco (Herrera for men & Burberry London are an all-time favorites of mine) & Colin Farrell but I’m disappointed.
This weird fragrance is a strictly winter fragrance.

Not bad, but nothing to brag about or call it INTENSE.
It’s a good fall, spring indoor night scent. Somewhat inoffensive so you can wear this to work or special events. It’s warm, clean, sophisticated, masculine and has an clean “outdoorsy” feel. Think of a outdoor fall evening at dusk, with a lavender subtle breeze in the air. Not very strong at all, but I like that so you don’t overpower everyone’s noses around you.
This is NOT a club scent, nor a upbeat party scent. There’s nothing playful or exciting in this. This is a casual, warm, laid back “I’m having a few drinks by the fireplace in a dark atmosphere, I want to smell clean, warm and inviting…but a hint of sophistication” kinda vibe.
I get great longevity with this, about a full 7-8 hours on my skin.
Describing Keywords – soapy, floral, warm, sophisticated
This is my casual spring/ fall scent, 50-70degree weather.

Not sure what all the complaining is about on this one. It’s absolutely fabulous, a slightly more mature and “serious” version of the original. I own FBs of both Intenso and the original Italian formulation of the EdT.
The EDT is, I think, with more prominent lavendar, basil, clearly detectable geranium, giving it an overall louder and brighter tone than Intenso. By contrast, Intenso has a darker, more serious vibe with more pronounced tobacco and a definite moepel (hay-like) accord, but is by no means heavy, or even tobacco-centric for that matter. The bright airy lavendar that is the signature note of the original EDT is still the dominant note in Intenso in the opening and mid, and is still present through the drydown. Intenso is also more complex and multi-layered than the EDT. The EDT is just bright clean linear sunshine for 8-10 hours on me, while this one starts almost identical to the EDT, but darkens slightly after about 1-2 hours, with emergence of tobacco and hay.
Both scents smell “positive” (I think we all associate emotions with scents, without always realizing it), but if the EDT is a beaming ear-to-ear smile with a big hearty laugh, this one is more reserved, a warm smile with a twinkle of the eyes from someone with a bit more life experience, but still with plenty of youthful energy left.
It develops in clear phases on me, which is unusual for a designer scent, a sign of high quality. In the far drydown on me (also 8-10 hours later, so longevity is NOT an issue on this one) I can also clearly sense a dark, modern sweet amber and musk note which gives a more mature impression, without being “grandpa”. The ingredients here are phenomenally well-blended, and everything is clearly defined in each phase, yet harmonizes with neighboring notes. It flows from one phase to the next seamlessly, without clumsiness, or rapid drop-off of a particular phase; the top notes don’t disappear in 5 minutes only to leave a dry-down, and there actually a mid to this one, which again, is often missed in designer scents.
Like I said, longevity on me is 8-10 hours, and my skin usually drinks up fragrance, leaving nothing left. Not sure what people were complaining about with poor longevity. What I did find is that the initial sprays fron the bottle did not last as long as when the bottle had a little air in it, so perhaps this bottle needs to “breathe” a bit before the longevity picks up, a feature seen with some other fragrances as well. Projection is also perfect. Definitely detectable at a distance of 1 meter, but definitely won’t fill a room or choke people out. This, in my opinion, is what projection *should* be. While we love fragrance, not everyone does, and you don’t want to be smelled before you walk into the room, or be labeled as “that guy”, but you definitely w
