Rosendo Mateu 5 finishes the collection relaunched in 2017 by the master perfumer who has had his name involved in countless fragrances of worldwide success.
And to close this story, the perfumer decided to create an oriental fragrance, full of floral accords and sensuality. For that, he used spices and exotic flowers making way to the notes of lily of the valley and carnation, as well as a sweetened base with vanilla, amber and a sensual musk.
Rosendo Mateu 5 is a delightful and inviting scent, but without any innovation compared to the others. It was the only fragrance in the collection that left me with a clear sense of “déjà vu”, to the point of making me search for the olfactory reference, inside my personal collection, for a long time before publishing this review.
And as much as I do not like to make comparisons, I can not escape the responsibility of giving to my readers / followers the truth. In this case, the fragrance goes towards the style of Au Masculin Eau de Minuit (Lolita Lempicka) and evolves in a very similar way to the aroma of Body Kouros (YSL). In fact, the name of the latter was on the tip of the tongue, but it was only possible to decipher it thanks to the help of a friend, who did not even hesitate when he felt this creation. And it was a revealing moment, as if a ray of sun came out through charged clouds. At the time I thought: “yeah, that’s right!”.
There is not much else to be said except for the fact that Rosendo Mateu 5 is perhaps the most full-bodied and most engaging perfume of the collection. And even without presenting any novelty, it is that type of fragrance that still attracts praise, thanks to the perfect interweaving of spices with amber and vanilla.
It also makes me reflect on the constant demand on niche perfumery, with the false idea that such a segment was only born to bring differentiated and exclusive fragrances, which is not true.
To finish, I would say the following: Rosendo Mateu 5 is like one of those books that you already know the end since the second chapter, and still make sure to read until the last page.

Wow, I was doing my research about this perfumier and i read a lot about him and based on that I have a motivation to try his line and here is my first impression about his bespoke perfume no.5:
I was looking to the notes of the perfume and what makes me curious to try it by any way the carnation, Lily of the valley
and spices because I have never seen such perfumer use the same notes to make the perfume that let believe that this oud perfume while it’s not and her what we call the creativity of the perfumer, he is genius and by the way a bought a bottle of this perfume and never feel regret about it.
Fantastic for all of the seasons and unique and in my opinion the best of the line is this one.
