Description

Rosabotanica is the second flower in the Balenciaga magical garden founded with Florabotanica perfume from 2012. Rosabotanica presents its fresh version with a touch of sheerness and second skin feeling.

This floral fragrance is based on spicy rose. It opens with crystal accents of blue hyacinth and milky green character of fig leaf, refreshed by petitgrain. Rose in this composition reveals its sparkling and herbal facets increased by bitter drops of grapefruit and spicy cardamom and pink pepper. The base is composed of white amber, cedar, vetiver, patchouli and clean woody notes.

The fragrance is available as 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Rosabotanica was launched in 2013.

This is most definitely the greenest rose scent I’ve ever smelled. It takes me back to childhood to a backyard and a looooong fence that was covered in thorny red roses. I didn’t have to bury my face in the blooms to smell them, they just eminated, the same way this fragrance does. I smell the rose, but also the stems, leaves and thorns. Rosabotanica comes on strong and stays that way all day on me, although it does settle down and soften. I sprayed Outremer Vanille on top later in the day and it definitely punched it up again. You could also try layering on a chocolate frag to give it more sensuality.

Blown away by how much this smells like clay on my skin– not at all what I would’ve expected from a perfume with this name and bottle. Does anyone else get that? Maybe that’s just what fig leaves smell like.

Very wet woody herbally rose like that scent after a heavy rain. I prefer the Florabotanica.

An interesting fragrance with a misleading name.
None of the posts I read here prepared me for the experience that is Rosabotanica, it is not your typical fume!
You get a 2 second whiff of rose which is quickly replaced with a fabulous earthy vegetal cocktail (indistinct but not offensive) which then changes and goes sour for a while while the grapefruit, cedar and vetiver take centre stage. It later freshens up and quietens down with a whisper of hyacinth, warm milky fig and soft amber notes.
Forget the marketing, this is definitely a fume that can be worn by anyone and one to try if you like quirky green citrus woody scents.

I can’t believe it! I managed to find another bottle of this amazing perfume. The best green rose ever ❤ pure love. All year round.

I am surprised i haven’t written a review about this fragrance before. Anyway, i tested it a while ago and i didn’t liked it at all. I am not very picky with perfumes, but this smelled green and medicinal. I got no rose. Test it before you buy.

To me, Rosabotanica is quite similar to Florabotanica, except that it is much more fruity, and the rose is actually more prominent in the latter.
Rosabotanica opens with citruses and green notes, and then turns balmy and peppery, with milky sandalwood and sweet amber. This is a pretty scent – just don’t expect it to be a rosebomb, because it is not. Throughout the development stages of this fragrance I could always smell a timid rose lurking in the background, but it never once took the central spot.

What a blending of the notes. A fresh spicy citrusy rose. Herbal for a good amount of time. Petitgrain, cardamom, pink pepper and vetiver are all very apparent and very proportionate in the scent, everything stands out just as much as it should be. Very symphonic and unique. Unusual
If you like rosy scents with a green, herbal kick do try Rosabotanica. Not your typical girly girl scent and definitely not a run of the mill fragrance. It reveals its identity right away: Rosa- botanica, and this is what you get.
Also, nice to see Kristen Stewart for Balenciaga, she is a total fit for both Florabotanica and Rosabotanica, unlike Gabrielle Chanel for which she aesthetically does not deliver.

This starts off with a blast of cedar and grapefruit, a somewhat odd combination. But rembering that Florabotanica starts off strangely and then evolves into something ethereal, I sat back and waited for the magic to happen. And it did. The grapefruit fades and the cedar softens into a mellow wood, while the roses start to bloom. It’s really very pleasant. The only complaint I have is the sillage- by the time this starts to really shine, it is a skin scent.

I was unsure of what to expect from this. I love Flora. Flora is sparkling and fresh, but this is not! This rose is kinda dirty and I love it! Rosabotanica is the rose that was forgotten in the darkest corner of the garden, left to mature and blossom into something special. She is nothing sweet or soft. She is skittish and quite unusual…maybe even a bit carnal…

Rosabotanica is strolling through an arboretum after it rained, with the smell of the herbs, the spicy-woods and the roses evaporating from the ground. This is fabulous on a late summer rainy day and it’s me in a bottle ❤ love it, love it, love it!

I usually don’t write negative reviews but this is not fair I think! LOL
Rosa is the jealous bad cousin of Flora who tried to imitate her gorgeous cousin with no success…
Does not have the depth and uniqueness of Flora, only weak green notes….

My skin tends to bring out base notes quickly and this fragrance did not jump the trend with the opening not being enjoyable for me.
The next phase brought too much cedar and I felt like I was wearing a 2 X 4 along with a sage dominant poultry seasoning and cardamom.
The final phase was much nicer and has a mild rose with easy spice and woods.
This one really does last and for that it deserves it accolade, too rare are fragrances that can go for 12 hours or more on my fragrance eating skin. A+ for longevity but only a like for second half of the fragrance phases.

just received in the post and uggh!! stinks like its old and musty. like its gone off. will let it stay for a bit longer and hopefully it’ll dry down to something other than geraniums and my grandpa’s dirty socks or dirty dishwater.
update..if you can get past the initial stink, the dry down is really quite lovely. enchanting and intriguing actually. and it has staying power. i have a miniature splash on and i dabbed a little bit on wrists last night and can still smell it this morning. silage not that great but i dont have the atomiser version. splash on stays close to my skin.
day by day i am becoming most fond of rosabotanica. a full bottle on sale somewhere would be nice. my advice to girls who hate it is, give it more time. you wont be sorry but then again, i tricked my flatmate into putting the then horrid stench on and on her, it did not change for the loveliness that i can smell on me. therefore, NOT A WISE BLIND BUY

Un flacon très réussi pour une composition qui propose une rose moderne, pas mièvre du tout. Convient à tout âge . Je déplore une tenue et un sillage plutôt modérés.

Yuck! Chemical overload! It burnt my nose and stung my eyes upon spraying it. I wish I hadn’t. My poor children complained that I was trying to kill them!!!
It’s very strong, very loud, last forever, on my skin anyway and it’s always the perfumes I hate that last the longest.
Can’t even pin point what it smells like, it’s just a jumble of chemicles. To me it’s nauseating. I wish I could smell a rose or mint. It’s just not for me.
Shame, I love the artwork on the bottle.

I do not like rose notes, but in this formula does not bother me at all. There is something else that hit my nose at the first sniff in a kind of bitter way. Fortunately, it was gone quite quickly, leaving pleasent track of it. I can not highlight any note, but overall it is very nice. Just not sure if it is my cup of tea, for sure not for a blind buy. I will put it this way: if I get it as a present, I would be pleased, but I guess I would invest my own money in something else. Silage and longevity is moderate.
Update: This one is proof that we need to get a sample and try it on the skin for one day! I changed my mind and find this one truly worth of investment. After wearing it for one day, it developed in something really beatiful 🙂 It is bold and sofisticated, not overwhelming, but still recognizable and mature. I never understand how somebody claim about some perfumes which I really like that smells like cat urine ot else. Now I do. My sister in low, after she loved this one on me, tried it on her wrist, and it was something totally differnet. Kind of house cleaner or cheap soap. I couldn’t believe it! So, again, try it first !
Based on notes, I would never thought I would like, but bottle look so nice that I had to try it, and I’m happy for it.

This scent is addictive, fresh, and full bodied. The rose is green and singular. If it were a woman she would have dichromatic eyes, dark brown hair, and olive skin and have a terribly interesting life, but secretive and hard to define.
    Basically, I’m obsessed.

  20. :

On my skin it remains a young rose not yet in full bloom. It’s surrounded by greens that are slightly uncanny rather than exotic. It reminds me of crawling through fresh slightly wet shrub plants ( surely you’ve done that too ) and coming out the other side with a few scratches. Rosabotanica is a rose that has kept it’s thorns and all the better for it.
I like it, I like it a lot. Unfortunately it seems so does everyone else, this was sold out of two London department stores pre Christmas and I have no wish to merge into a crowd. I hope this is still available in a few years when the hype has died down. If anyone out there can recommend an alternative spikey green rose please let me know.

    It’s so peculiar.
With the endless assault of petitgrain, I should have been able to easily dismiss this fragrance, but it has proven to be rather appealing. Full bottle appealing, actually.
It’s such a birkenstock fragrance; so L.L. Bean 🙂 It makes me feel I should be out hiking or at least posed in a Lands End catalog pretending. I know it’s the effect of the herbal accord but knowing it doesn’t make me any less susceptible to the pull. That all being said, I don’t want to give the impression Rosabotanica is earthy. It’s not. We’d need quite a bit more patchouli here for that, but it is down to earth. Down to earth in a very appealing way. You won’t get your ‘hands’ dirty spraying it. It’s green (from the fig leaf and petitgrain), rosy, cleaner. It’s conservative in feel, focused…attractive. Rosabotanica not a fragrance I would describe as pretty. I have enough of those.
    Noteworthy Notes
    petitgrain
    rose
    pepper
    cardamom!
    green fig leaves
    more herbs than listed
woods blended and unidentifiable to me, but solid
What’s not here (and not missed)
    sweetness
    creaminess
    “pretty”
So what we have here is a fragrance for the wearer who does not enjoy more ‘perfumey’ offerings. Be warned, you can’t just like herbal leaning fragrances to wear this, you must love them! Fortunately, I do! Well, at least with Rosabotanica I do 🙂

Smells great in the rain. Green rose scent with an undernote of patchouli. Reminiscent of Passiflora by Nest. Not a warm scent, cool, green and grassy. Weedy. I don’t get a lot of rose here.

I really, really like this fragrance!
I was a fan for a time of Florabotanica but found that its dry-down was …. odd. I like odd and unusual and can appreciate it in fragrance any day, but this was the kind of odd that I ended up feeling a bit self-conscious about.
Trying Rosabotanica was a fleeting experience I did a couple of times but on those quick tries I didn’t find too many differences between the two ‘flowers’ and so didn’t follow it up. And man, was I wrong.
After smelling it on someone else, I decided to give it a go as I’ve had a real rose craving over the last year; I’ve always liked rose but finding the right one has been a struggle, until now. This, *this* is everything that most descriptions say it is; lively, spontaneous, bohemian, fetching, come-hither (rather than Cavalli ostentatious skankiness) but is indeed unusual in the good way.
What I enjoy about it is the changes. While I wouldn’t say it changes hugely from application to dry down over the course of wearing, it evolves in such a way that it’s almost magical, I swear. The first blast is quite green and has an almost spiky kind of freshness and spice with rose. But the true rose comes into play about a minute after as it settles and only sweetens over the course of wearing it in a clean, herbal, figgy, intoxicating way. I love it soooo much.
I’m a huge fan of fig when it is done right and it’s been one of my favourite notes in recent years, so to see it paired so cleverly and enchantingly with rose is truly perfume kismet, I just can’t believe it has taken me this long.
After trying it today and letting it settle I was sold. I bought the biggest bottle I could and am so happy. I’ve said it before fragrances that they had signature quality, in general, but this is a masterpiece and one that is edgy, fun yet sophisticated and sexy and it’s all I hope to project, while being romantic, undeniably and feminine.
And, as all my favourite fragrances have, the ability to translate between ocassions; from casual to event it would make an interesting perfume.
Rosabotanica IS very different to Flora and the superior of the two. Don’t be put off by that initial bite, because before long it becomes a dreamy (but lingering) smell and it’s one I’m pretty smitten with.
Go and find this and enjoy it.

I love this scent! It is soooo unique! I wore this last Summer (2015) at work and I got compliments as soon as I walked in the hallway. A month later, I wore it at a wedding in which my Boss was also invited (She’s over 50 years old). As I was approaching my seat at the reception, she grabbed me and said, Wow you smell so good!! She asked me what it was and so I answered, it’s Balenciaga Rosabotanica.

This is a review for Florabotanica. I love this fragrance although I can completely understand why some people would find this scent different or even odd. I feel like a lot of the popular fragrances are extremely sweet/gourmand these days. Most of the new scents at department stores smell very similar to each other. What differentiates them from each other is the unique and imaginative packaging. If you are looking to “smell out of the box” you might want to give this one a try. On my skin I have to wait about 15 minutes for the notes to warm up and settle down. Once it has developed, it turns into a beautiful, classy, mysterious, sparkling floral that makes me want to continuously sniff my wrist. Fortunately, today I found a 3.4 oz bottle at T.J. for $35.00. I am so happy that I have found a back-up bottle. Have a beautiful day!

I’m surprised mint was not listed as an ingredient on this; there certainly seems to be some kind of bitterness accompanying the rose and fig opening of this fragrance. Rosabotanica is very green, I feel like I am standing in the middle of a garden after a heavy spring shower, basking in the aroma of fresh flowers and wet grass. The dry down consists of cardamom, woods, and a very sheer rose. There is pepper throughout its life but I also sense a little saffron as well; grapefruit balances everything out to make this a very clean and energetic fragrance.
Rosabotanica isn’t particularly innovative; it’s a streamlined fragrance with a little twist. There’s something here that reminds me of Agent Provocateur, the rose is an Indian rose…not your conventional evening flower. I am absolutely in love with the dry down after about an hour, pink pepper balances so well with the florals that it’s a shame how soft the sillage is. It’s certainly a skin scent, with almost no projection and poor longevity.
Overall not exactly a game changer, but still very memorable and the bottle design is pretty enough to make it almost worthwhile.

Being slightly obsessed with rose fragrances, I decided to try this out. The original Florabotanica is a lovely, light floral scent, so I thought that this might be in a similar vein, only with more rose. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I find this fragrance to be offensive to my nose. I don’t know whether it is the disparate mix of notes, or one note in particular, but something about this is deeply unpleasant. If I were to try and explain what I smell, I would say flowers, green notes and compost. Why on earth there is “rosa” in the title is beyond me.

  28. :

Ugh! What is this? Just no! A strange concoction of scents that just don’t belong together. Sharp, bitter green lawn clippings rivalling mangled vines and decaying roses, throw freshly cut pine sawdust into this compost heap of garden decay and a new modern take on floral fragrance is created. A Frankenstein creation of a modern floral fragrance. I will say however, the bottle is an exquisite design. In fact, I adored the artwork so much, I commissioned an Artist to mimic the design on canvas as a painting, surrounded by a black and white frame. I adore the bottle, just not what it contains, based on the misleading packaging I was expecting a fresher fragrance of blue hyacinths and red roses and poppies, or at least that is what I was hoping for.

  29. :

I’m a bit disappointed with this perfume. I actually really love the scent except for one thing. I can’t stand cedar, and sadly this contains just enough to put my nose off. I wish I didn’t react so adversely to cedar because this perfume would be beautiful if it wasn’t for that.

  30. :

I wish I loved this. I wish I even just liked it enough to own; visually, it’s one of my favorite bottles. I just can’t validate buying it, though. Why isn’t mint listed as a note? The mint that’s blended positively sublimely in Florabotanica is the focus of the opening of Rosabotanica on my skin. It smells like a minty florist’s shop, maybe more like standing in a florist’s shop chewing a very minty gum. Neither the fig nor the rose develop much for me against the jumble of greenery. The hyacinth is a beautiful touch, but fleeting. Overall, it’s pleasant but not worth obtaining, not even for the bottle. It wears with light moderate sillage for most of a workday

Discovered this purely by chance at Sephora once, and it has become my signature scent.
It’s very rosy, yes, but it’s so vibrant and green. It’s like you were doing yardwork in your sprawling English garden and some roses happened to get mixed in with the other plant cuttings.
To me it has always smelled like I am standing in the middle of a giant garden on a warm day.
I can’t pick out specific notes besides rose, but there is a certain softness to it that grounds the scent. It’s not a juicy green like grass clippings, in the way that so many other green scents I’ve smelled are. It’s more woody and dry while still being fresh and summery.
On me it dries down fairly quickly and the green botanical notes disappear, leaving me with living roses, a hint of patchouli, something soft and snuggly. I will catch a whiff of it occasionally throughout the day but I do not think it projects very far past my skin after the first hour or so.
Edited to add: I tried Hermes Jardin Mediterranee based on how many people said it smelled like Rosabotanica. I don’t think they smell anything alike, but I DO also love love love Un Jardin Mediterranee.

Rosabotanica is a recent discovery and after giving it a full week test drive, I’ve decided to add it to the permanent rotation.
For me, it opens very green and citric….I suppose that would be the grapefruit (thankfully, without any of the sulphuric notes) and a flash of fig leaves (no fig flesh, more like sap from crushed fig tree leaves and broken branches), quickly joined by some floral notes courtesy of hyacinth, before transitioning to a one-two punch of pink pepper and spicy cardamom, a light touch of vetiver, a fractionated (read: scrubbed clean and modern) patchouli, and some clean, vaguely woody notes. Some readers sense a lot of cedar but that isn’t the case for me. The overall feeling it evokes for me is being in a cool, overgrown garden and inhaling deeply.
The scent is tenacious in a quiet way and does cling to the skin (reading the ingredient list reveals jojoba esters which mimic the sebum found in our skin) and the effect is the transparent second-skin effect the creators referred to.
The name leads one to expect a rose perfume and the problem is this is not exactly what you get. At best, one will sense something rose-like that’s present throughout the scent’s lifespan.
Very nicely done, in a minimalist style; not a big statement scent, nor does it evolve much from start to finish, but who’s to say there’s not a place for that in one’s scent wardrobe?
To my nose, this is definitely gender neutral, with above average longevity (I get 6+ hours from 2 sprays on chest and 1 on each forearm), and sillage remains quiet after the first hour – doesn’t violate my personal three foot rule.
Note: I’m not quite sure how some reviewers interpret this as a loud scent (loud to me is Fracas, Amarige, Joop! Homme , Carnal Flower, Poison, Samsara, etc.) – as this pretty much fades to a whisper after the top notes burn off.

  33. :

This is a great green, woodsy unisex scent. I would not say that is a floral. The only rose and petitgrain I get is from the immediate spray. IIt is definitely Briar Rose than formal English rose garden. Dewy, soil with spice. The cardamom, cedar, patchouli and wood notes are pervasive throughout. While I do not think there is much change in this linear frag during wear, the fig dies down slightly and makes room for the citrus to sneak in. There is a softness that I assume comes from the hyacinth and amber. The notes generally play loud and sultry throughout the entire wearing. I do find the silage and longevity to be pretty poor, but I plan to try it again in the fall when I think it will truly come alive. If this was in a room spray, I’d be in heaven.
Edit: I don’t know what has changed but all I get out of this now is pickles. The cardamom is so strong that is dominated everyone and everything. It is the only perfume I have that feel self conscious wearing

  34. :

Rosabotanica has nothing to do about roses really. First impression is definitely woody and green. Big trunks, big leaves, clingy roots and curly vines everywhere. Like a rainforest! Soo… You think that the scent would be juicy like the humid rainforest? No – it’s super dry, almost starchy.
Not a bad scent at all! I actually kinda like it. It’s a bit wierd though. Smells kind of “intentionally unfinished” if you get me. Maybe that is the pretentious art behind this scent. Probably gonna find this bottle in a beret smoking unfiltered cigarettes pretty soon. Claiming that I “was not meant to understand.”
While I was deep down in this perfume in search for the rose (which I still cannot find – lol), I found the cardamom and pink pepper!
So for here on this fragrance shall now be named “Rainforest spiceshelf botanica”

«Charades, pop skill, water hyacinth, named by a poet imitation of life» – I’ve been missing hyacinth ever since I finished A Scent by Issey Miyake and here this flower is the protagonist alongside petitgrain and grapefruit. Rose is not so prominent as the name might suggest. This perfume is green, bittersweet and unconventional. I love it.
Side note: Is it true that so many people know what a fig leaf smells like? Shame on me!

Wow, either I got a bad sample or my nose just isn’t spelling what’s actually there. On me, this is extraordinarily bitter, parched, and sharp, The kind of smell that makes you take a step back. I could not detect any Rose or other flowers. Nor could I detect any green. Unless it was dried up, Dusty grass. I think I just got a big dose of pepper and some chemical that overwhelmed everything else. I sampled Jardin en Med a few years ago and liked it. I tried it again recently and all I could smell was Iso super e, so now that joins the list of perfumes I cannot enjoy anymore. Maybe I am sensitive to something in this one too, because I know this is not how any perfume is supposed to smell. It makes me really unhappy that my perfume options are getting more and more limited because of some nasty chemicals.
What a disappointment. I was really looking forward to trying this one.

Oh wow! What can i say about this perfume. It was a blind buy so i wasn’t sure what to expect. As soon as i got in the car, i tore the box open and sprayed my wrist and the air. Instantly i was transported to 1990 when i was ten years old sitting in my bedroom with my hamsters. At first all i could feel is hamster cage. I ignored that off putting sense realizing this is not dirty cedar from my hamster cage when i was a kid. The only reason that’s where the smell took me is that was the only association i had with cedar. I waited and wow, I’m falling in love, I’m not in my bedroom any more, I’m in a beautiful cedar wood forest, every thing is covered with dew, there’s roses in the distance. Im really enjoying this. I’ve had this perfume fir a while now and i love it more and more each time i wear it. The Cedar is clean, realistic, gorgeous, roses are dewy and distant but there, pink pepper, vetiver and fig are paired along with the Cedar. I’ve never been so intrigued by a fragrance. I’ve never felt more powerful, confident, positive in a fragrance. I receive at least 6 compliments a day from men and women while i wear it. Im glad that my un educated nose is becoming more intelligent. Longevity 10hours, sillage arms length. More important than getting compliments is that i feel beautiful when i wear it. Imagine a mystical creature stepping out of a dewy cedar wood forest, that is what this perfume smells like

I LOVE this fragrance. It’s “the one” that I wish I could wear forever….and to think I bought it blind for the bottle only is crazy! The fig leaf gives it such a great opening freshness of greens that makes the lingering rose not overwhelmingly floral, and the pink pepper is so subtle yet makes the fragrance so intriguing. It feels like lying down in a rose garden after the rain…minus the dirt and wetness. It wears for a while, but in this case I don’t care too much since it’s definitely one that I’m EXCITED to reapply. Not since STELLA Stella McCartney (which is SO different than this) have I wanted to put on a fragrance right after my shower…at night. Before going to bed. My only regret is not getting the bigger bottle.

This one is weird. While Im a sucker for fresh green scents (Hermes Un Jardin Apres La Mousson and Sisley Eau Campagne are two favs) this one maybe has too much bite. Ive never smelled fresh rose mixed with masculine vetiver before and Im not 100% convinced they are compatible. Add bitter grapefruit to the mix and it makes this even more harsh. I get the detergent comparison by some reviewers. What saves this is the hyacinth and fig leaves, and the other background notes are quite beautiful, there is no doubt this is expertly blended and produced fragrance. While Im not sold on this, in a way I respect it and appreciate it. Im fascinated how strange it is and how nothing on the market is even comes close to this (and I love the bottle). Lets just say I appreciate this one from a far, and I would really respect any woman (or man) who can pull this one off. All in all, Im intrigued.

I do find it hard to review perfumes that I really REALLY love! Would I do it justice?!
I am a Balengiaca fan. Their perfumes are feminine but not overly girlie. They always seem to blend unusual notes so masterfully. Rosabotanica is no exception. This is definitely a perfume that makes me happy (even a tad excited) when wearing it. It is pretty, but unusual. Pretty in a “green” way, rather than in a “pink” or “purple” sort of way!
Yes – absolutely fig leaves – that soft tropically greenness that reminds me of climbing our fig tree as a child.
I did not pick the rose note until I read the notes listed. But now I definitely pick out the rose, though not in a traditional fashion. Even the rose smells more green. Again, though, this is a SOFT, sweeter green, rather than a sharper, grassy green.
The cardamom adds more sweetness and a bit of spice.
These three notes are the strongest on my skin. As the scent develops, I do smell the amber base too. Thankfully no patchouli on my skin!
I think I’d actually like Rosabotanica as a signature scent, but at the same time, it holds such a special place for me at the moment, that I don’t want to risk over-using it. For now, it will probably stay my once-in-a-blue-moon super-power boost-me-up fragrance… until I find a big bottle at a good price anyway!!

Sharp herbal floral opening. Wood and fruit, too – there’s a bit of everything here. Invigorating, light fragrance but with excellent sillage. Despite it’s greenness it’s fairly sweet. There’s an aquatic element that lends detergent-y note in there (reminds me a bit of shampoo). Comes on pretty strong but not in a traditional “big perfume” way but with very angular, modern notes. I imagine this is either a love it or hate it fragrance. As it’s drying down a powdery sweet floral scent is developing, possibly from the hyacinth. The pink pepper is definitely in there, too; this is a fairly spicy fragrance. Feminine but in a non-traditional way.

This was love at second sniff. The first time I smelled it on a paper test strip, Rosabotanica did not impress me. However, a few months later I was perusing a store’s perfume counter and on a whim I sprayed it on my arm. Wow. The initial spray was all rose, but shortly afterwards the green and then spicier notes began to emerge and after about 4 hours the patchouli came out to play. I couldn’t stop smelling my arm for the next several hours and quickly obtained a sample and eventually a full bottle.
On my skin and to my nose this is a spicy rose perfume that makes me feel feminine and upbeat. I would have no problem wearing this with anything from jeans to a little black dress. From reading the reviews, it’s apparent that this is one of those polarizing scents which makes me wonder if there’s a note that many people are anosmic to or perhaps very dependent upon body chemistry? Regardless, I love it, but many don’t so it’s definitely not a safe blind buy.

Interesting how people differ in their perceptions. I do not find this clean at all, for me it’s a dirty perfume, both in the sense that it is earthy, green and that it also is a bit suggestive…like sweaty skin, but in a good way. I smell rose with a spicy green woody background that smells a bit masculine. I imagine a very confident, no-nonsense woman who’s rocking her tousled hair look because earlier she was fooling around with her man and his smell is still lingering a bit. However, it is still very much a rose perfume, so make no mistake this is also very feminine. On my skin, at least, the rose was louder than the fig. I find the opening of this perfume very intoxicating, light and fresh, in a similar style to Florabotanica, but more provocative.

One of the main reasons I’m addicted to fragrances, is the memories that come along with each note! I always try to associate notes with my memories of different times.
I was immediately sold when I sprayed it! I love love love any fragrance that at first spray, begins with a lovely note (not alcohol) and is pleasing to my senses. My first memory that came back to life was that of a time as a child (5th grader) and eating “Lucas” brand lemon/lime beer salt. Lmao…so strange but as it dried down the memory lingered and more came back to me of that era.
Great memories and couldn’t ask for more. Every time I wear this, I’ll think of that memory. Nicely done!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I promise you, I am only buying this for the bottle!
The scent is not as important as the bottle design. I will replace the woody, ordinary, floral boredom with something a little bit more electric.
I am actually disappointed that the scent is not as beautiful as the bottle design. I wish florabotanica was in this bottle instead!
    Also….
If you have ever been to kew gardens and you open one of the doors to it’s many extraodinary greenhouses – there are reminders of that warm, damp, floral smell in this fragrance…<br
