sweet, dark, dusty rose. Some woods, quite unidentified. I like this one a lot but still there is something i can’t put my finger on and it bothers me. It is girly and mature at the same time, like a teenage girl that tries so hard to be grown up. And still, it is a good scent, i like the gothic vibe, dark and a bit smoky, and rosy and sweet. Really hard to describe but good to have it for one of those rainy autumn days when you feel a bit grumpy and nostalgic, trying to accept the fact that summer is dead and winter is near. And the last roses are there, dark red and damp, and sad.

I miss this. It’s not worth shelling out the money for a bottle of this discontinued scent, though. I wore this all the time when it first came out.
As well as the rose, I used to get the musk, lily of the valley and orris notes quite strongly. Blackcurrant was noticeable for the first 10 minutes or so. I don’t remember the heliotrope or the vanilla being there, but it has been a while.
It’s a soft, feminine and sophisticated scent. My only gripe is that it has no projection at all.

I got this as a gift a few years back and only wore it a handful of times, but I received compliments for it constantly. On me it’s very dark, funereal – I get dusty rose, more like a dusty fabric that’s been rose-scented than the flower itself. It settles into an almost rotten sweetness tempered by powdery musk, with a hint of that dusty rose noticeable all the way through. It’s the perfect dark, sumptuous complement to black cashmere or velvet on a night out, but it can be overwhelming; it gave me a headache a couple of times, since it’s very noticeable and lingers so close to the skin.

I have to say that I feel sorry that this perfume has discontinued because it was a good scent!

I get more vanilla than black currant. Not a fruity floral IMO. But definitely rose. I am a rose girl; give me rose in any form, and I’m on Cloud 9. My body turns any rose into magic. The vanilla rounds this out into a tad of sweetness but without any syrup. Reasonable lasting strength; decent silage as I can smell it on myself a few hours in. I got a “WOW you smell good!” when wearing this one evening from someone who came in close for a hug.

What a nice fragrance! This is a classy rose floral with a nice warm base perfect for those of us looking for a great versatile scent. This is a great scent that is versatile enough for day or night and just about any time of the year. To me it’s basically a rosy-musk and is neither sharp or sweet – very smooth and easy to wear. As a vanilla-disliker, thankfully I can’t speciffically detect the vanilla. It’s neither girlie or old lady. The bottle is very nice too and I love looking at it on my dressing table. I highly recommend it.

When I sprayed Rock ‘n Rose on I expected a classy rose, (it is -after all- a Valentino!) instead imagine my surprise that it smells like a more ‘mellow’ modern version of Cacharels LouLou! with a high note of rose!
LouLou is harder to find and costs more. So, sniff this and be amazed!
Also; I do love the round bottle with the long octagon shaped cap and black lace covering with a black rose and Valentino label. It looks very different among my other ‘undressed’ bottles.
Silage is: “soft, yummy and powdery, but very noticeable without being rude” — Longevity is 5+ hours.
A wonderful powdery sexy floral with a hint of spice. Suitable for evening or dates. And for people who would like to have a LouLou type scent; or who like LouLou but would love a softer version. Yummy! I will buy this one again.

I guess I am the only one who is not enthousiastic about the bottle. As for the the lace ‘sock’: so far, so good, but the plastick black rose..? To me, it looks cheap and it gets me in the way while spraying. Luckily I am able to remove all this pishposh and there is just a plain classy round bottle left. However, the important thing is the fragrance of course!
To me, Rock ‘n Rose Couture is not all about the rose. It is a rather fresh bouquet of mainly lily of the valley, bit gardenia and a few roses. I also swear to smell freesia, but maybe that is the effect of the cassis and bergamot added to the previous flowers. The whole composition smells rather alcoholic actually, which dissapoints me. The sillage and lasting power is just medium. I guess this is a fragrance easily worn for ‘casual wear’, especially for somewhat older women. Not that it smells classic or ‘old’, but it is quite mature for a fresh bouquet. I myself am going to wear this to ballet-class untill it is finished, and am not planning to repurchase it…

I love everything about this perfume. It’s the prettiest bottle I own, it smells very feminine and sweet and it lasts a good 4 or 5 hours on me. I like to layer it with the Rock n Rose lotion. Rock’n’Rose is charming and comforting perfume. It reminds me of my garden at the cottage where I grow blackcurrants with bushes of old roses and sweet honey like wildflowers. There is nothing edgy about this scent. It wraps around like a blanket on a cool starry summer night. It reminds me of a quiet time with the nature when I felt relaxed and happy.
Blackcurrant in the opening is accompanied by tender scent of lily of the valley and bergamot. I love this trio. I think the choice of lily of the valley makes the opening classy and chic and compliments the blackcurrant really well. Lily of the valley here is not strong. They just add a nice touch to blackcurrants. The heart is gardenia and rose. There is something sweet and honey-like about the heart notes in this fragrance. It reminds me of a sweet and romantic pink rose. I guess the scent is a bit powdery but it is very classy and feminine.
I would recommend this fragrance for someone who likes sweet romantic floral. Blackcurrants here are not as defined as in AMETHYST but I do love how they are paired with lily of the valley, so if you love blackcurrant scents like I do then you might want to give this a try. This perfume does not give me thrills or pushes the limits but it is lovely, romantic and so comforting to wear.

This fragrance was given to me as a gift last christmas, I would not buy it for my self but I do really like to wear it when I want to smell of roses. Slowly i started wearing it. And each time i liked it more. A very comfortable rose scent, with a little bit of spices and a delicious vanilla base.
Nowadays, I just love it. Very feminine and sexy.. Definitely a “Rock’n Rose”… Can be used at night and also on fresh days.Good lasting power: Stays the whole day.

unfortunately neither of rock & rose and couture version didn’t work for me.I found both of them somehow flat,specially at the first sniff.I have no passion for these.they’re just floral.
the middle notes are not mentionable neither.I like the gardenia but it’s not something I can’t stop smelling.
the best part of this perfume is the base nots.I don’t know from where it gets these differences,but after 2 hours it just starts smelling better.heliotrope and sandal wood,with something I call mandarin have made a good mixture.
by the way I prefer V series to these ones and I’m waiting to test rock n dream which seems to be so different from these two.

I really liked Pret a Porte and it seems that this one too. It’s very innocent, fresh, nice floral scent with a hints of gardenia. It’s very rosy at the beginning with sweet berries. It’s quite light to be used in warm summer days. Later I can feel vanilla and something else, unfamiliar to my nose, but nice. The bottle is very gorgeous in black lace and adorned with black rose. I think original bottle design is too plain, this one is just right. I can see buying this sometime…

Such a great combination of notes creates an amazing perfume like this one. Its a typical flowery fragrance, also feminine and warm. At the beginning you get a light greenish freshness by the mix of lily of the valley and bergamot, the rose in the middle note is very dominant and has a very feminine and soft touch because of the great support of orange blossom’s, after a few hours you`ll wrapped in by orris and vanilla. The lasting power is phenomenal, i still can smell the rest of the basenotes after 12 hours. R’n R Couture is a light perfume, but it has enough power to get completely captivated by it. In my opinion this fragrance suits better for a mild spring or summer day, the effect wouldnt be the same on winter days. Pretty bottle which fits to the scent, i also think this version is the best of the R’n R serie. The notes harmonizes perfect together, like a melody on a rock concert 😉

They are very similar. Couture is original Rock’n rose + slightly smoky effect + a little bit spices. I love it. The dry-down is perfect. Original is light, this one is deep rosy scent, slightly spicy, sensual, elegant and it has good staying power.
