I found a roller bottle of Al-Rehab’s signature scent. This is by far the best one. A word of caution, however-this is pure perfume oil and one drop is extremely powerful!
It is surprisingly unisex to me this time, unlike Nebras or Saat Saafa. It opens with a blast of aloeswood(oud) that has a green smokey character. Oud can scare you away or you become an instant fan. I am still somewhat on the fence here.
Its opening takes about 30 minutes and the beautiful floral notes debut. Then a magic carpet ride begins! Taif rose and jasmine blend well with the saffron. There is a clean soapy quality with a warm spiciness at the heart. The amber and oud close it out after several hours. I would like to see this in a bar soap. Perhaps I need to experiment with the strength and try to dilute them on my own.
These Al-Rehab attars are somewhat revolutionary. To the western nose, they may seem like cheap “head shop” oils yet are just very traditional and exotic. They are inexpensive and easy to get on the internet for now. I am still suspicious as to how these perfumes are so inexpensive to produce.
