Description

Thomas Sabo is launching a new fragrant pair in 2012 – the feminine Glam’n Soul and the masculine Rebel At Heart. This is also the first men’s fragrance of the house.

Rebel At Heart, as announced, captures charisma and charm of independent and authentic rebels. The extravagant woody – aromatic blend offers spice notes that highlight rock and roll vibe.

The fragrance opens with cardamom, cinnamon and bitter orange. The heart includes accords of clove bud, bay leaves, cumin and cedar. Tonka, vetiver, patchouli, incense and white musk give the composition a mysterious touch.

The fragrances are available as 50 ml Eau de Parfum (female) and 50 ml Eau de Toilette (male).

A very pleasant suprise as many reviewers have already stated. The bottle does that I guess. Was quick to grab this as I saw the good reviews here and it was only $14.99.
It does open like dior homme with the lipstick smell (the best part of dior homme imo) but it quickly changes. I get burst of the cinnamon in the opening and the strong caraway which last throughout.
On me the majority of this fragrance’s life on me is a smokey, spicey clove tea. The tea note really projects on me.
This is a great alternative to all the citrus and aquatic fragrances that are always worn in warm weather.
Even though it hints at other fragrances it is very unique.
Longevity is 6-8 hours and the projection is moderate. I find myself thinking this has faded but I am reminded by my wife that it has not, so you may think the fragrance is gone but it is not.
    7.5/10 for me
would be an 8.5-9 if the bottle was nice.

Thomas Sabo’s Rebel At Heart is one of the reasons why we should never judge a book by its cover. With such a dreadful flacon that immediately brings to mind of a lacquered version of the Death Star, I can’t say I was very motivated to give this a change but, eventually, I’m really glad I did.
A well done and very reasonably priced woody oriental with spicy / incensey refinements and sweetish undertones. Incredibly pleasant to wear, versatile, completely competent and, most of all, it skips the typical department store vibe of these kind of fragrances.
A little hidden gem which is vastly superior to the majority of similarly themed niche offerings of the last five years or so.

It is a creation of Mark Buxton and I find that it’s a real success. The composition is great with a nice development and materials seem good. This is the reverse of the packaging who is cheap and a bit vulgar.
It reminds me some creations of Sheldrake, with its background of warm spices (caraway) perceived by transparency through a veil of very fresh incense. Buxton is best known for his work around the incense as his famous CdG2 for Comme des Garçons. Here is not a church incense, but an incense humanized by cinnamon and vivified by the … ginger? I don’t see it in the notes listed here but the impression is there (Five O’clock).
Unisex, easy to wear, stylish, good longevity… you just have to transfer the perfume to avoid being ridiculous using that horrible bottle.

This smells like I’ve spilled Jagermeister on myself.

smells like carrots. like a crass eau sauvage; but this is not a bad thing. want a bit more class for some upscale-ish event? eau sauvage. this is good for jeans and a t-shirt.
    very fresh. very young.

I smelt this from the bottle a few days ago; didn’t spray it on my skin as I’m a lady but it smelt absolutely divine in the bottle. Spicy, sweet, and smoky. To my mind, how every man should smell!
I will most likely go back with a male friend and force them to try it on so I can give it a more in-depth review.

At first this one smells like a cheap mixture of Chanel Bleu and the classic Habit Rouge, but then develops into something more. Reminds me a bit of CK’s Man, and therefore suits mild Central European autumn days. Nothing special then, but it’s o.k.
