You will laugh, but Primark has released at new fragrance identical to this fragrance and it is called “leather”,go to compare, there are 4 another perfumes of this new Line
Shondrafl – :
There is an intense sweetness in the opening, I can’t put my finger on. Then it develops into a very prominent suede-like, comfy and elegant note. I cannot discern the separate ingredients at this stage, it’s a well-blended scent.
And it’s good, although leather/suede is not listed within the notes. The Bottegas and other leather scents of today can hide themselves 🙂

Python was not a keeper for me. It reminded me of Samsara, a more loud, less polished and refined version of it really, that gave me a headache (and I never get perfume induced headaches).
The bottle and red coloured juice didn’t help either.
I think I am being a bit harsh here, Python was ok, but not anything spectacular in my opinion.

Mmm. This is awesome. I can’t believe there’s no orange flower in this, because there is a bubblegumminess to it that is usually the work of orange flower. I guess the mandarin orange and jasmine in combination are responsible.
With a name like Python I expected something fierce, peppery, maybe similar to Roberto Cavalli Serpentine… what I got was a nice chocolatey orangey concoction with an uplifting spirit. A bit sweet, a bit musky, softly spicy with a generous helping of sandalwood. Two thumbs up.
BubGreequelex – :
As the name says this perfume is so good that is dangerous.
So different, so good with high quality and scent to it that is such a sin wasting it today as it is discontinued.
Such a gem.

Oh SO delicious, scrumptious, heavenly!!!! Yum, yum!!! Divine, intoxicating!!! I LUV it!!!! Beautiful sweet chocolate, gorgeous lush rich rose, smooth and enveloping spices – wonderful!!! It’s so extremely sensual and addictive! And I adore the gorgeous bottle, and the passionate colour!!!! I get compliments so many compliments. My darling loves it! It’s fabulous!!!
Faroantarne – :
Cardamom, vanilla, nutmeg, benzoin on a bed of sandalwood with a hint of dark chocolate.
I blind bought this back in warmer weather and it was lovely but not overwhelmingly beautiful back then. Fast forward to the cooler autumn temperatures and oh my this is sexy. A bit powdery, very cozy, almost edible and very gorgeous. I believe it’s dc’d but still available and not to expensive if you know where to look. Gorgeous heavy classic bottle. I only get a hint of jasmine and rose, this is mostly just spicy creamy oriental on my skin, and I adore it. Well worth picking up if you are into these kinds of scents.

There are those kind of potion fumes and Python is one of them. It is addictive and oh I wish some niche ones had as strong unique character as this old good Italian fume does.
I hear cardamom, chocolate, but it is more like chocolate bean rather than a dessert, and I hear the animalic note…but the creature is not a mammal (a civet as in others) but rather a reptile.

I am so obsessed with this perfume…I cannot get enough of it.
batikus – :
i loved it.. i was very sad when it came out of production ..it was the best ever what i had till now
Xeroxphozu – :
When it was still on the market, it was one of the strongest gourmand-spicy-orientals there! A warm woolen sweater for the cold!!
Now it still opens that way, with lots of nutmeg, chocolate, vanilla, rose and mandarin orange (all of these notes radiate warmth, in my opinion) but it’s all over in less than 2 hours… Then the citric cardamon becomes loud and spoils the potion…
My bottle is not a reformulation, it’s a vintage miniature so i don’t know if this review applies for the sprays!
machinistvl – :
I had the perfume but got rid of it. I couldn’t get used to the smell: it was as if a old and bald python 😀 was still able to bite but he was really old indeed. The fragrance has something biting in itself that couldn’t make me feel comfortable. Also I tried to like the fragrance during summer and summer isn’t a good time for Python to wear.
tgi937elipseskism – :
I must admit that “Python” is my signature scent. It’s not because it’s all-time favorite of mine, but it resembles me, my collegues and dear people know that I am the person who wears this perfume. It follows me, it stays in the air even if I left the room… That’s interesting. This is the only perfume who always gets the comments (sometimes negative – smth like “too sweet”…). And it’s normal that not everybody likes it, it only proves its uniqueness, brightness.
As for the smell itself. Undoubtedly – very sweet, very floral, very spicy. Dangerous mix, I suppose: “Python” can either “kill” you or love and seduce you. You just need to be careful, not to overspray it… Believe me, a lot of tenderness inside this potion.

Harsh medicinal top that then settles into a subtle, wonderful gourmand sandalwood fragrance. If anyone doesn’t want their bottle, please PM me and I’ll PM you back with a current swap list. This is one of my favorites, a unisex masterpiece, IMO of course. I also had Amour de Cacao, and it did not have that light, powdery sandalwood quality that this one does. In fact, I have yet to sample a fragrance with such a nice sandalwood note. Longevity is great but don’t expect monster projection/”sillage,” though it’s good. My guess is that many become a victim to olfactory fatigue due to the strong top notes, which aren’t good here, so why not just try to avoid them as much as possible so that you can enjoy the drydown? I wouldn’t argue with those who question the ingredient quality but what I’ve noticed is that if there is enough complexity and the blend is just right, I don’t really notice it, which seems to bet the case here.
Note: I swapped off my bottle of Samsara because I like this one much more. I have a feeling that the Samsara was reformulated into something much less compelling.

Hi Sky!
Am I right that you do not have Comptoir Sud Pacifique Amour de Cacao? You should have it, it’s like Python 5 times the strength. And it resembles the chocolate taste in the most realistic manner possible!
Good luck!

A nice, light, chocolatey-warm scent…yet it lacks the Wow-factor I expected from the notes alone.
It goes on a little jumbled with a dry citrus start, but quickly develops into a soft, rounded boozy chocolate-rose. The chocolate here is not milky or rich 85% cocoa….it is a basic bar of black chocolate. However, this isn’t a knock for this perfume as it isn’t ALL about the choc, here it is treated as part of the subtle mix that snakes its way around your wrist. If you want choc-choc-choc then reach for Chocolovers! If you need cocoa, grab some Cocoon!
Cardamom & nutmeg – I love the combo in vanilla scents as they round off the corners & add interest to the composition. The spices appear in a veil of rose akin to a very toned down Anglomania rose. This lends the perfume a smooth, soft, warm quality with a delicate spiciness & a light floral lift. The base is a boozy, rich resinous vanilla – & yet it is lighter than you would imagine.
My only complaints are that it begs to have more oomph! & the lasting power is poor. Can you imagine an intense, darker version – a Python with more punch? Pure Bliss!
Guassispuse – :
Dont bother to get this one,it smells nice and warm but it has NO lastingpower at all!It was gone by one hour
gospodin9033 – :
Ah winter, you give me all the desire so that I will wear a scent that doesn’t quite deliver fire!
This is a very sweet slightly spiced cocoa scent-cocoa and nutmeg-cocoa and cardamom–resiny cocoa-but sweet, sweet cocoa! Very loud, but not heavy. Doesn’t make me sneeze, makes me feel like a living walking cup of hot cocoa, wanting more spice, or more milk. However, it fades rapidly, and as it fades to more of a skin scent, I appreciate it more. It becomes a more personable and sensual subtle accentuation of my natural smell, and less of an overwhelming chocolate-wielding hostess. Not my favorite oriental spicy scent but warm– absolutely not bad.
Update:
Even if this fades in leaps like many scents, one must take into account that it is an eau de toilette. I have realized that I need to take care reviewing the scent on its own merit without reviewing too much how the scent meets my expectations-if I could expect divine, beautiful, swirling fragrant juice every time I try a fragrance, that would be great-but it’s better to expect nothing.
I have come to love this enough to make it a center of my perfume wardrobe-it’s luscious, but not too sweet-woody, but not too dry…I agree with Kittykati, that it reminds me of Samsara. I will certainly use my entire bottle, it fits me very well. I love the name, love the bottle, love the box, love the fragrance!
handsome – :
I can smell practically all of the notes listed and in theory these notes are simply irresistible, but something about this perfume just has me questioning whether I love it or not…I dont know what, I think it is the plum note (not listed here). It is a pretty, soft, spicy oriental, I wish it had better staying power though and Im personally not a fan of the red juice but that’s a minor complaint.
scorpion21 – :
all i can smell is cardamom , nutmeg and lil chocolate. Not good lasting power, very faint and close to the skin scent.
ilyshin – :
It always goes like this: I want to like this, so I decide to give it another go. I spray it on, enjoy the lovely top notes of citrus and then, after about 10 minutes an annoying, synthetic, stingy and sweaty note appears. Soon I can’t stand it anymore and wash it off (which is not easy, I’m telling you). After 2 or 3 scrubs I’m left with the most wonderful, soothing veil of chocolate and sandalwood. Is it me or is there really something wrong with this? I think I’ll stick with the lovely Inside instead.

Delicious edition, perfect for cold days. Well balanced combination of roses, chocolate and spices, intensive and long lasting. I adored color of liquid, it’s passionate dark red:)) Seductive and intoxicating!
