Description

The fragrance created in honor of the world capital, New York, is a novelty in line of fragrances by Beyonce. Its name is Beyonce Pulse NYC and this is the first fragrance with” Red Velvet Cupcakes” since this is one of favorite desserts in New York known for its aromas of vanilla and fine creamy filling. The composition leads us to the heart of the city offering contrasts among dynamic and casual locations. Selected notes describe beauty and passion of Beyonce, her style, excentricity, sexiness and sophistication.

Perfumer of the new edition creates a kind of ode to NY and he is Carlos Vinals of Symrise. Top notes incorporate a passionate fruity cocktail of raspberries, pears and pomegranate decorated with delicate notes of Arabic jasmine and peony flowers. The heart includes orchids growing and blooming in the center of the city even in hard conditions and are Beyonces favorite flowers. Base of the composition offers a gourmand blend of dessert of velvety cupcakes and warm, seductive patchouli.

Beyonce Pulse NYCis available in flacons shaped like previous editions Pulse and Pulse Summer Edition as15,30 and 50ml eau de parfum. Deodorant spray 150ml is also available. Pulse NYC was launched in 2013.

I won’t lie, this is an ok, likeable fragrance.
Up on first spray it’s spicy & sweet.
I can definitely smell the raspberry, patchouli & pomegranate.
The cup cake note is what gives off the sweet/spicy aroma.
How ever I don’t pick up any florals.
As it dries down, I’m only left with pomegranate & patchouli.
    Longevity: 1-2 hours.
This won’t offend anyone. So I don’t mind reapplying.

To me this smells like cupcakes just out of the oven
    So good!
The lasting power is 7-8 hours
    The silage is pretty amazing
My mom used to always steal this fragrance from me
    She loved this one too

Well. Pulse NYC is the second Beyonce perfume i got this year for Christmas it don’t smell bad but it don’t smell good to me either. This perfume is very strong man whew! ,it smell’s really vintage’y.When i get a whiff of this stuff i can picture a group of older women drenched in this who has maybe just maybe lost their since of smell ,shopping around at thrift stores for even more cloying perfume to buy I mean wow!! Oh by the way maybe i just got a bad bottle or something i don’t know.

After scrolling down to review some of my fellow viewers opinions….I intrepidly add my comment.
The bottle of “Pulse NYC” is interesting. However, it is a fragrance without a pulse….without the “oomph” that I expected would be in a scent of this nature. This needs something….pepper or ginger…something more to make the fragrance ascend.
Perhaps since its modeled after what people in New York appreciate I missed the mark in smelling this perfume as a Caribbean girl. I didn’t get the scent of cup cakes…I just got a sort of plummy medley that went to a delicate vanilla undertow.
I find many of Beyonce’s scents smell plummy, no matter what she says is in the line up. Therefore I think I will just buy one of her fragrances for myself this year and end it with that.

I love the smell of cupcakes!!!!!

I bought the knock off from five below as well. I see someone else in the reviews liked it too. I don’t know what the authentic one smells like. But the knock off is amazing.

This is my signature and lasts all day
It kind of smells like bakery with sweet cookies and lingers close around you
I cant say it reminds me of anything else
So soft and comfortable to wear

Nothing but patchouli. I expected a sweet cupcake scent with a background of patchouli, but unfortunately it’s just all patchouli. The notes do not change when it’s been on, the patchouli is strong from beginning to end. So disappointed with this fragrance, much prefer the original pulse.

  10. :

    3 out of 5

No way near as nice as original Pulse, very weak and not a lot going for it. All I smell is a watery patchouli then it’s gone. Not impressed at all with this I’m afraid 🙁

  11. :

I bought this because I bought a knock off at Five Below called Be Sexy NYC by Mirage and loved it, but I have to say I don’t appreciate the authentic scent at all. I can’t pick out any of the notes, it’s just an unidentifiable conglomeration. Really disappointed because I love sweet fruity gourmand scents and what I got smells like… I don’t know… cheap hairspray? Maybe I got a bad bottle? Wish these things had expiration dates. Just not impressed.

Someone had left a bottle of this on the shelf at my workplace. I had a little smell, and was horrified. It smells like cough syrup or something.
I can see from the comments that a lot of people like it. Each to their own, but those people are missing out on a wonderful world of finely crafted, sophisticated fragrances when they frequent these cheap smelling “celebrity fragrances”. There is so much more to perfume than smelling like lollies.

this is not fruity in any way to me,its floral and very Heavy, a stinky mess actually

  14. :

I a reviewed this before.I still find it wierd but sometimes crave it.usually whenever I crave it,it leaves me unsatisfied
Recently I blind bought Britney fantasy naughty remixe, which I don’t love either.suddenly I decided to layer it with my beyonce pulse nyc.I like the combination of these two more than using them separately.I can feel more cupcake when I use both of them, also patchouli which seems like a hot and humid mess, can’t show up intensely beneath tones of powders of naughty.also Longevity and sillage increases.if you have them both give the combo a try

  15. :

    3 out of 5

I don’t like it the same way, I liked the original Pulse.
It’ just not as good, it’s weird.
There’s a synthetic cupcake note with pear and raspberry lingering around.
Very fruity indeed, but there are many better ones among Beyonce’s perfumes.
    A cheap smelling one.

I ordered this one with shaking hands since it was my first beyonce perfume and fruitchoulis aren’t my usual favorites but as a gourmand lover I couldn’t pass a perfume with a dominant red velvet cake note
It arrived today.first about bottle and packaging.I’m not in love with it’s packaging but I don’t hate it either.I find the bottle design very unique but not pretty.it doesn’t match the scent,I find that plastic blue thing tacky but it’s glass part is ok.I know that I’d never put my bottle upside down so thanks god it stands on both sides
    Now about the scent
It opens as a girly, summery fruity floral.most dominant note is a juicy raspberry and pomegranate blended with soft, non descript florals.nice smelling but very generic and it’s not sugary sweet, not at all.there’s a delicate fruity sweetness present in first minutes.after some minutes, orchid shows up but still, raspberry is the main player.drydown is totally different
After 15-20 minutes it dries down to something I can just name a red velvet cake-patchouli combo with a faint fruity floral(raspberry, orchid)playing it’s part in the background
Drydown is warmer and not juicy anymore.patchouli is subtle and it’s just there to prevent it from becoming edible, however I wouldn’t miss it if it wasn’t there.I can really pick up a cake-like smell.it’s not still sugary sweet,it’s cake like and I love cake like scents
All in all it’s not something I’d love.but I like it.not a big like, something between meh and like.it’s not something I’d wear occasionally but I’d crave it sometimes like now that I want to spray it to everywhere
For me,pulse nyc is a mild weather perfume.I don’t prefer it for hot summer days as I don’t like it for freezing cold winter nights.now it’s a fall evening and it does it’s job well
Can’t tell about longevity and sillage yet
If you’d like a raspberry cake grounded by patchouli,it’s for you
    ❤❤❤
Edit: it doesn’t stay more than 3-4 hours on me which is by the way OK for me,since I wear it at home.sillage is moderate at first and becomes soft after an hour.My hubby likes it in first hour because he usually likes raspberry, pomegranate fruity florals but thinks drydown is kind of wierd but still not bad.I think it could be much better without patchouli

  17. :

    4 out of 5

ADDENDUM: I’m a male and LOVE Pulse Nyc. I do miss it. The warmth comforting scent that is in the drydown is like running to your mother. I guess that is the red velvet note. Its about to be winter and I think this will go well It’s gourmand and patchouli without the fruity berry or citrus. Beyonce worked hard on this perfume.i don’t think girls would appreciate as i This one Im not into vanilla-ish perfumes and this one is not a sweet cloying vanilla like all the other celebrity scents. I would say it is more natural and earthy. I am buying g this one again!

“Crack open the champagne and dab it on: it’s Dazzle! It’s bubbly, it’s light and…” wait. I’ve done this review, and I liked it the first time. O.o
Yes, I actually love Dazzle. That *hint* of complexity, such as it is, makes *all* the difference between that review and this one, though. This one is simpler – more aquatic, like after a rain. If there’s pear, it’s very strained pear juice, mimicking the champagne. The pomegranate, raspberry, and floral seem to combine to make up the cherry. It’s still vivacious, but not as deep.
I’m debating whether or not to hand this one off. I guess if I’m feeling more shallow than a Paris Hilton fragrance, this would be the one. I mean, for a simple, fresh, springtime fragrance that won’t set off migraines you could do worse.

This is a very sweet, cheap-smelling perfume. With my chemistry, it is nauseating. I bought it for about 14 bucks when I first started my perfume journey, and knew it was a bust even then.
I get no woods at all, just a fake fruit with a touch of sweetened patchouli.
I don’t mean to offend those who have a positive reaction with this, this is simply how my nose and my skin react to it 🙂

Had a tiny sample of this perfume and for some reason I loved it so much that I decided to get a full 3.4 oz bottle. What a mistake! Sickeningly sweet and irritating smell that bothers me throughout entire day, and stays on my clothes for ages (may not be a bad thing for some people though)

  22. :

    4 out of 5

Patchouli mixed with sweet notes. It has a cool, minty scent surrounded by very sweet notes such as raspberry, cupcake and pear. Mild floral notes.
Not among the best but ok.

  23. :

I love the smell of this perfume, but it is so weak. I have to inhale strongly with my nose pressed to my wrist to smell it at all (and I used four sprays this morning). It has a fabulous cakey, raspberry smell, and I find the patchouli very nicely blended and inoffensive.
Update: Using three liberal sprays seems to improve things and I enjoyed this very much on a Saturday night with friends for several hours before it disappeared. Such a great fragrance!

  24. :

I bought two bottles of 50ml for 2’9€ each one. I love sweet fragrances so I thought this would fit me. Sadly, it has a lot of patchouli, which I can’t stand it in sweet perfumes. I had high hopes that this would be mostly about red velvet. Surprisingly, all of my friends and even my mother, who is very picky when it comes about perfumes, love it! It was a riscky blind-buy, but worth to try it since I only spent 5’8€ for 100ml.

  25. :

i am so obsessed with this, its my favourite out of the 3 pulse fragrances. its just so nice! the red velvet note does stand out but it’s not ALL ABOUT THAT in the fragrance. it’s a lot better than the original imo although i like the original this is better put together for me. lasts a good 8+ hours as well

I’m unable to do a full scale review of this fragrance yet as I am yet to wear it but I did purchase it today and I’ve picked up two things real quick that I just wanted to share. I feel this perfume is really strong and in order to pick up that cupcake you really have to concertrait on it, and it has a very similar eroma to Fame

  27. :

I love this scent when it’s freshly sprayed on the skin. I was already super excited and thought I just found a real gem! But as it dryed down, it turned into a nightmare. Drydown smells like a very cheap men’s cologne with some very sharp notes of… cat pee? Lemon scented Fairy? I don’t know, but definitely something horribly bad. Dissappointed 🙁

This is one big stinky hot mess to me. For an uber sweet cupcake/velvet cheapie that lasts get Ellen Tracy’s Love Notes.

At first time i didn’t like it very much, but now I love it and am wearing in winter. Yes, drydown is heavenly and that’s why love it. It’s delicious, sweet, creamy and elegant, but not acute/sharp. Has big longevity.
Also hubby like it so much and when I’m wearing perfume he can’t stop smell me.

This really is the most horrible scent I’ve ever smelled. My sister once weared my jacket and when she gave it back to me, well… I asked her what was that horrible, gushing sweet scent. It was this, Pulse NYC. It honestly is so sweet, that it makes you feel dizzy.

I’m going to start this of by saying that I FLIPPING LOVE this perfume. It is one of my favourite Beyonce perfumes. This is definitely how I imagine New York smelling. It probably smells nothing like this scent but I don’t care. This is my favourite version of the bottle and box as well. The metallic blue and silver is beautiful. The actual smell takes me to heaven with the angels haha. I just love the balance of all the notes in this. I have to say I even enjoy the patchouli note in this as it isn’t too strong. I just wish the bottle was a bit different from the other two. The lasting power of this is better than any of her others in my opinion. Beyonce please keep your good scents coming. This gets a 9.5/10 from me x

i just bought the gift set with the 100 ml and 15 ml along with a shower gel and body lotion all for £16.99 in B&M. its such a nice perfume I never thought I was gonna buy it until I saw the set.
the sweet spicy mix reminds me of another perfume but I cant think what…

and of course with this one i found the similarity smell scent with “Euphoria by CK”
but different when its comes to base but still almost same , also believe by britney spears ,
i don’t know why but this is the truth for me, if anyone want to try compares them just try it , and see the result if am i right or wrong , , , so just check them out
but among them , i had to choose Pulse NYC cause its freshness and cake earthy to its , but longevity goes to Euphoria by CK and believe by britney spears for the winner ,
hope u all can see it just like i did ,

Love Beyonce and her music but not so much her fragrances. Would say this is the best of the worst. It’s a pretty standard fruity floral fragrance, not one to rave on and on about. It is very sweet and has a juvenile quality to it. I use this as my gym scent, so at least I smell pleasant when working out. This fragrance definitely has a sporty smell to it. I hate the bottle, and the weird throne thing it sits on, the whole upside down thing is very annoying. Please come up with a better fragrance and a better bottle design for the future please Bey.

Looking for a substitute for Deci Dela, and with some digging I came across this one. Yes I know it’s ladies, but the more research and testing I do, the more I realise that girls have such a better choice of fragrances, so many mens fragrances smell so generic. I digress, this is so good. I sprayed it 10 hours ago, and since sprayed Bvlgari Homme Soir on top, the Bvlgari has gone and I can still smell the Pulse NYC.
The opening hit is sugary raspberry, it takes its time to develop, but the sugary’ness continues and the patchouli starts to develop. I don’t get the floral notes in this at all, just the fruity notes and cupcake. It is definitely a gourmand scent, perfect for use day or night.
The lasting power I find incredible, 10 hours or so, I know it’s edp but it really does have incredible longevity, weird that guys and girls have said I smelled really good. One I will use sparingly, very very similar to Nina Ricci’s Deci Dela, which is sadly a thing of the past.
I have to say when I started delving into fragrances I was put off by Celebrity names, but I have to say some of them are seriously good, this one, and the original being among the best, the Summer version is on order, so I will be reviewing that soon.
Only criticism here would be the bottle, it’s a bit on the tacky side, and not the most sturdy design. All in all, LOVE!!!

  37. :

    4 out of 5

I didn’t like this perfume when I originally tested it, but after trying it now that it is summer I enjoyed it enough to buy a cheap bottle. It reminds me a bit of Midnight Heat – not necessarily in scent, but in the way that the fragrance is based around the clash of fruits and patchouli.
The pomegranate actually lasts throughout the fragrance, as does a trace of raspberry. There is a undercurrent of butter/vanilla cupcake too, but it is less noticeable to me now that it is warmer.
Pulse NYC loses some points with me as the florals are a largely unidentifiable jumble, hidden behind the patchouli.

  38. :

    4 out of 5

I’d define this perfume as chic & cheap. very nice smell and brilliant combination of pomegranate, patchouli & cupcake. Very energetic and vibrant smell. I like it 😀

  39. :

Can’t wait to try this one out especially since it says it has red velvet cupcake 🙂 my favorite dessert….

  40. :

    3 out of 5

A creamy sugary cupcake served with fruit punch. It’s everything the notes say it is, fruity, flowery and sweet. Girly and flirty and young. Very artificial though, and if you’re a serious patchouli lover like me, you might be a bit disappointed. I find the patchouli note here to be quite chemical and indistinct, I like my patchouli quite raw and “dirty”.
Overall a pretty fragrance, but not for me. And I don’t get the name or the bottle. This fragrance has absolutely no New York vibe, and it’s really a pink fragrance, not a turquoise one.

  41. :

AMAZING!!! MORE ELECTRIFYING THAN THE ORIGINAL!

  42. :

Although I believe that the only notes this has in common with rihanna’s reb’l fleur is patchouli I think it smells very similar to that fragrance. It is a much sweeter lighter version but It very much reminds me of re’l fleur.

Bought this as a blind purchase after reading reviews and on a great deal at £10.50.
Not a bad perfume – sprayed one spray on my wrist lunchtime to test – and I can still smell this at 7pm – sweet, floral and I like it. Longevity seems quite good on my skin which normally is not the case.

  44. :

    5 out of 5

I don’t know why this is a Pulse flanker, it has very little in common with the other scents except for the bottle. I didn’t like the other Pulse’s. The orange creamsicle smell made me nauseous so I wasn’t sure about this one until I smelt it. It’s delicious. It’s bright and fruity in the top and you can really smell the pomegranate and raspberry. Then I mostly get a sweet patchouli cupcake smell. It’s nice and yummy. The base smells like delicious baked goods.

  45. :

    5 out of 5

Wow this is SWEET! And not in a bad way!
This one really lingers on the skin and lasts. It leaves a really nice scent as the day goes by. It’s very fruity in the opening and very juicy similar to Beyonce Heat Rush not in the scent but it packs a similar fruity punch.
It rounds out nicely with a patchoulli/red velvet heavenly base.
Has good lasting power for the price and great sillage as well.
I love the blue metallic throne thingy too. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I think its so coolxD

  46. :

it’s very vanilla cake sweet, i don’t usually like sweet perfumes but i quite like this one

This has grown on me. I gave a rather negative review of it because truthfully at the time I was sick of this sort of smell. There is Flowerbomb, Angel, Wish, Jimmy Choo and so at one stage every perfume seemed to be a rip off of those or a combination of 1 or 2 of them.
The more I wear this the more I like it. Jimmy Choo turns too soapy, musky, Flowerbomb too heavy with the powder, Wish is nice no problem with that and Angel well need to go light with that one.
This one has the aspects of all the ones mentioned above but it keeps the fruity sweet touch that rounds it out nicely it doesn’t just dry to powder or soap and musk. I have seen Jimmy Choo Exotic advertised and this NYC Pulse is what I imagine Jimmy Choo Exotic to resemble. A nice mixture of powder and fruit and cupcake and no dreaded soap lurking around.
I still don’t think this reminds me of anything to do with New York but it is one of Beyonce’s nicest but of course it is a limited edition. Why do the nicer ones have to be limited. I get sick of Heat Rush and Heat but I have not found myself getting sick of this one it suits my skin very well it blends in it doesn’t assault me like some celeb perfumes. Hopefully there will still be bottles floating around in the future that I can continue to buy because I would repurchase this I have done an about turn on this fragrance. This is why I never give up, you never know what you might like in time to come;)

I just got this perfume. I absolutely love it! It smells sweet, but not to the point that it makes you sick. It’s warm, cozy scent.I would say it’s adult kind of sweet.
To me,this perfume is relly unusaul,it’s different, therefore it would make great signature scent, you’ll definately be noticed, while wearing this stuff.
    I love it,absolutely love it!!

One word: NASTY. I was blanketed in some chemical sweet powdery junk, made me sick. Alien by Thierry Mugler is similar to this. Get Alien. This stuff smells like very cheap cologne.

  50. :

    3 out of 5

Meh. I bought this blind a few months ago after reading reviews and finding it “for cheap” at Marshalls. Not what I expected. It had potential but it lacks depth. On me, what you spray is what you get. I’d hoped it would develop more and the listed notes, like patchouli, would be stronger. I personally found it too sweet and somewhat boring (see my previous point). I also think it smells kind of generic in a way. You’d think ” a scent the reps NYC would smell more sophisticated…playful….unique. However I’m pretty sure I’ve smelled this before. Wish there was more flower power (Jasmine), woods and patchouli (patch fan here) but its mostly a strawberry cupcake with a hint of floral.
Its not a bad scent just not what I was expecting. The longevity is poor. Sillage is good! Not my fav but I’ll keep it and give it another chance eventually. As of now its not on my radar.

  51. :

    3 out of 5

Very aggressive scent, better to use carefully, not too much drops of it! Far too vibrant to me, even if I like sweet fragrances. Surely it matches Beyonce, with her great life energy.

  52. :

@all love your collective reviews on all perfumes. I try to buy according to input from professional “sniffers” and reviews like all those in this forum This is especially helpful because the perfume bloggers only review a limited amount of fragrances, and then they lead towards releases from expensive niche frags–which I do like and indulge in but I can not shell out $200 for each purchase. Occasionally, they will review a mass market release, some under 100 bucks. All the luxury retailers are at a mall over 20 minutes away; so many of my purchases are blind.

  53. :

    3 out of 5

Tested at 5:30pm yesterday. Weaker longevity than Pulse; seemingly went to drydown in less than an hour. Smelled the floral cupcake for just a bit then it was just a [faint] patchouli for the stretch. 7 am now, still a trace, but very weak really.

I am not into celebrities perfumes or Beyonce ( infact I don´t even like her). However, today at Douglas I recived a tester with Pulse NYC and I must say I am suprised, Pulse NYC works with my chemistry – sweet but not to sweet, cherry ( ???) cupcakes and wood. It´s not strong and after 2 hours it´s almost gone but those 2 hours every very very cosy. I think this is a light sweet winter pefume, I don´t know if I will every buy it because as far I hate every single one of her other perfumes ( teenage bombs!!) but this one is worth a try. I have alreday ordered the body lotion from ebay 🙂

I bought this perfume based on a review. Big mistake 🙂
Luckily my colleague likes these kind of perfumes.
The reason I bought this was because I wanted something sweeter than usual, but not too heavy.
This is a very heavy perfume, it even may give you a headaches. It is very long lasting and strong. The main note that i could sense was cotton candy with peony.
I would recommend this perfume in case you like sweet and heavy perfume, because it really lasts long and you cannot ignore it.

Where to begin I bought this perfume at tj maxx for $10 wow what a steal for the 50ml!! The scent opens up very very sweet but not candy sweet I get more of the baked goods sweet hence the red velvet cupcake! The open is awesome but the only thing that I have a problem with is I don’t smell any of the patchouli which sucks because I love this note and was excited to see it mixed with cupcakes!! But all in all this is an awesome scent I would say its better/more complex than the original. The lasting power on me is about 6-7 hours which is awesome! So if u find this for the price I did don’t turn it down especially since its limited edition 10/10

I was so surprised to see this at one of the TJ Maxx’s in my area for $10! Got it tonight! Wasn’t planning on getting it.. but when I saw the 50ml so cheap & knowing it’s a recent scent and has patchouli which I love I had to snatch it up! And I’m glad I did… It’s Wonderful! Awesome sillage, and I’ve had it on for all night it’s as if I just sprayed it. I’m loving this! But it’s limited edition… I better get another one quick!

I just bought this at TJ MaXx for $20.00 tonight, and I think this is amazing! I was super surprised to find it at TJMaxx, for 1. It is not even quite 6 months old yet, so It’s pretty new and 2. I thought this was a limited Edition for NYC only? This gives me hope we may see Beyoncé’s new Limited Edt. Heat Mrs.carter in concert bla,bla whatever, in TJ Maxx and Marshal’s soon, so I will not spend the big bucks for it and get it for 20 or 30 dollars in 6 months or so. It’s worth a shot and will save about 50 bucks like I just did with Pulse NYC! 🙂

I really LOVE this perfume. The first time I smelled this I thought the smell was too strong but after it dried down the smell is just like heaven. It’s not too sweet. It reminds me of cupcake. It’d become one of my favorite fragrances now.

I bought this at TJ Maxx and fully expected to like it. I really enjoy the original Pulse. At first spray it smelled semi promising. After even just a few minutes though this scent let me down. The strong patchouli in this ruins this perfume for me. Sometimes I don’t mind patchouli, but it has to be done rather lightly and well for me to enjoy it. It also dried down to be a mostly all patchouli smell. And the longevity and sillage seemed to be weak on me too.
I still have to try Pulse Summer edition. I think that will probably be a better fit for me.

Pulse NYC is a nice fragrance. To my nose, it smells a lot like Estee Lauder Pleasures Delight, sort of a legere, less expensive version; the sweetness, fruitiness, and patchouli are all there in both. Sillage and longevity are very weak, so much so that to wear this fragrance in a sustainable way, you’d really have to decant some into a purse spray and reapply several times throughout the day. If I didn’t already have Pleasures Delight, I’d like to have this perfume, but PD is much better.

This one is nothing like the original Pulse or the Summer edition to Pulse…I am a fan of all three but this one is way different that the first two. I agree that is does have a sweet smell that kind of reminds me of chocolate at first, then a nice cupcake, then the floral I smell last… I was blessed to find it for $14.99… I love it!

I bought Pulse NYC few days ago only because I have read here it is similar to Prada Candy and because it was on a sale. Well… I have to say it is totally different to Prada Candy! I don’t understand how so many people voted it is similar. However today I discovered all those votes are deleted off this page. Weird…
I also own Beyoncé’s original Pulse and surprisingly the dry dawn of it slightly reminds me of Prada Candy. Very slightly. Something soft powdery and caramelish, but still not close to Prada Candy.

I remember smelling this a month or so ago. BUT! When I did, I didn’t think of Prada Candy at all. I was not intentionally trying to compare them, so it might be similar, but overseeing a dupe which has had this many people see a similarity this quickly surely would have had me raise my eyebrows at it, right? Especially considering Candy has been my most worn perfume the last year or so.
I sort of fear that the fact that this perfume has had that many “people” say it’s like Prada Candy is just dirty marketing. 155 people say they have it, want it or have had it. 425 people say it smells like Prada Candy. Not a single review comparing it to Candy. I reacted at Beckham’s Intimately IMMEDIATELY, and saw it as a watered down Pure Poison from the first sniff. 71 comparison points. Reviews reflect those 71 points. Look at Paris Hilton’s first perfume. At the moment 142 comparison points to Ralph by Ralph Lauren. Tons of reviews comparing the two and pointing out the fact that it’s a dupe. Why do we not see that here with the astonishing 425 points? Beware.
EDIT: Just to clarify, nothing against Beyonce, and I don’t have any reason to believe this is dirty marketing other than the very, very strange stats. I would LOVE for this perfume to be a Candy dupe since I’ve been looking for one ever since it was launched!
EDIT2: Wait a second now! Were the comparisons to Candy just removed?

This smells exactly like Victorias Secret “Secret Craving”.
Does everything smells the same nowadays, or is it just my nose…?!

I got this from Tjmaxx today! 🙂 Soooooooo excited it finally came to a store and I didn’t have to buy it online again!
It doesn’t really smell anything like the original! It’s more different. More fruity, by far! Personally, I hate the original Pulse but love this one!
The bottle is really nice too!

Omg I found the sparkling mist spray of Pulse NYC today at TJMaxx and it smelled delicious, but I know it doesn’t compare to the actual edp! The mist smelled like JLOs Love & Light to me. U would think that the PERFUME bottles would show up soon. Let’s hope! : )

I only have the perfumed body lotion to this because apparently, it never made it to the department stores where I live, or it did and was gone faster than a blink of the eye. I bought it at one of the local Ross stores because it was super inexpensive.
Well, I’m kinda impressed with this one. On my skin it smells like cupcakes and patchouli which may sound not so great, but it’s not a bad combo. I get a little bit of fruit, but mostly cupcake and the patchouli keeps it from being overly sweet, but adds an earthiness to the scent. It’s one of those casual scents that is fun to wear while hanging out with friends or doing errands. Keep in mind I only have the lotion, so the longevity is moderate with low sillage, but layering the perfume would make the scent last longer. I think a person could wear this year round as I don’t think it would be too cloying in the heat.

I was drawn by the holographic package that the perfume comes in. I wanted to add a Beyonce fume to my collection anyways, so I gave Pulse NYC a try.
On the first sniff I thought of Pineapples, so I have been very surprised that theres actually no Pineapple in the notes at all!`But still it smells like Pineapple in the beginning to me. Maybe that´s because of the Pomegranate, I don´t know. Later on it calms down and gets sweeter and warmer, but still there´s this fresh fruity undertone and you can defenetly smell some cake, which I think is awesome!
I love gourmand scents and this one is really nice!
The longer I wear it, the more I like it. It has this vanilla cake rasperry scent that is really delicious, but it´s not too heavy.
I think it´s a good gourmand scent to wear during the summer. I think I´m going to love it!

NYC women are supposed to smell cool and sophisticated. Not like sickly cupcakes and sugary fruits.

my first impression was: If this is how NYC women should smell like…I feel sorry for them. Bleh. Then, after 3 hours on skin it finally smells nice, sweet and balmy. But 3 hours is way too long, especially when there are hundreds of parf
