Description
From Caron: “Richard Fraysse, Perfumer Creator for Caron, has transcended the original formula with a unique selection of the most floral lavenders and noblest vanillas. The exceptional result, which remains true to the legendary accord, perfectly encapsulates the quintessence of Pour un Homme, capturing its many facets with the greatest intensity. A bolder vanilla and lavender come together in a fanfare of incredible sensuality. The amber and musk base notes are more persistent. A unique fragrance with an assertive character. The bottle is graced with green lacquer and a metal label to mark the occasion.”
Pour un Homme Millesime 2014 was released in 2014 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the original Pour un Homme fragrance. It is available as a 125 ml eau de toilette on the official website of Caron.

You want medicine herbal quality Lavender? You got it here, perfectly, fully alive dancing and singing over the vanilla musk base. Much more sparkling in the millesime 2014 version as in the original vintage version. But, after a while they become pretty much identical, because the formula is the same, just better ingredients here, which you can truly tell.

My Millesime arrived today and it is all I expected! Absolutely beautiful like all Caron´s creations. Loving it!! It is a more powerful, modern version of the original pour un homme de Caron, which to my opinion looks like the flanker at this moment…. If you appreciate well made authentic fragrances and are not into the ´one million´s´ and more of that trendy cheap stuff, this one´s for you.

Another Masterpiece from Caron.
This PUH is using the same ingredients as the regular one, but with better quality.
When you spray yourself with it, you notice the difference in sweetness with the regular PUH.
2014 lasts longer, is sweater and if you have a nose you will truely smell the difference of the ingredients quality.
In this one, the vanilla is a bit more pronounced and sweet also.
Sillage is very good, and it lasts for more than 24h on clothes.
I don’t know which one i prefer between the regular one and this 2014. I’m alternating.
The regular PUH is more “dry” to the nose.

The Caron Pour un Homme line has long been a respected classic. Arguably one of the first men’s scents, Pour un Homme definitely beats the norm of a traditional cologne. No citrus as such, traditional woods like patchouli or oakmoss (that’s obvious) and no hint of vetiver either.
Instead, it mixes three simple ‘notes’: lavender, vanilla and amber. Yet it still remains a classic fougere, comprising of the usual notes that make up this genre – that is, lavender and coumarin/tonka bean (that’s the vanilla/amber to you and me). What’s even more strange is that I can detect each and every note.
I have no idea what past editions or vintages may have smelled like, but having tried the current EdT of the classic, this Millesime 2014 special edition is definitely more pronounced and holds quite well. I’ve struggled to find a time to wear this scent, though originating in the early 20th Century I can see men in bow ties wearing this to the opera or formal dinners.
I wasn’t necessarily a fan of lavender but got a bottle as I wanted to see what the fuss was all about. Alas, Pour un Homme is a classic cologne for men – lovers of lavender will drool over it, as will fans of raw vanilla scents.
Progression is good but the scent doesn’t change much, other than the amber becoming a little more pronounced.

I was excited to test Caron pour homme, but in the store they only had this one, the Pour un Homme Millesime, so I tried it hoping it would smell like a stronger version of the traditional Pour un homme.
To be honest, I always thought that all those bad reviews saying “it smells dated” or “smells like old man” were lie, but… I guess they’re right.
I don’t considere myself an expert in fragrances, I’m an average man that wants to smell good. And I would never use this fragrance, not even for my own pleasure. It smells like a just showered old man, or like a vanilla air sanitizer.
Please forgive me.
I’m 24 years old. And even my 20 years old sister and her female friends said laughing that smells like “grandpa”.
Anyway, it’s very long lasting and has a good sillage.

Almost an Eau de Parfum of Pour un Homme ! Intense lavender , gourmand side of vanilla
A touch of green..And a dark smokey tone that lingers for just a while . Then, the classic accord evolves into a smooth And warm side… At this point , It reminds me the flavour of a white french dragée , still there IS no almond or sugar in this fragrance ! …
The longevity IS better than the original as IS the sillage 5 hours !
After poor re formulations , Caron , with Pour Homme Millésime gives to the vénérable Pour Un Homme a clever And modern twist !
