I’m far from an expert at placing notes but what I do know is this smells so yummy, it’s addicting! We’re in the colder weather now but I think this would be perfect for spring and summer. It’s fresh but not too sweet and could be good for a casual night out. The longevity isn’t too bad either.

It occurred to me today…..that this smells like white wine on my skin. Seriously, like I dumped a glass of pinot grigio on myself. Yummy yummy!!!

Does anyone know if this was a limited edition?

Wow. This is full bottle worthy. While wearing this, I actually am taken back to the days of Paul Sebastian’s “Design!” There’s no civit in this, but the hyacinth I think is giving this a bit of a skanky scent. Silage becomes noticeable, but soft. Longevity has been going strong for three hours now.

This is very sweet, even sweeter than the original, and patchouli heavy. At first spray all I could smell was a honeyed patchouli. The florals come out more in the middle and they’re heady, syrupy lush white florals. The base loses some of the charm and ends up a soft sandalwood and hyacinth fragrance. I miss the drama of the first 20 minutes. The fragrance starts out a panther and leaves a newborn fluffy kitten.

I did this purchase as a blind buy, relying on the reviews here. I find Michael Kors Gold Luxe edition to be extremely floral which is something I don’t really go for. It opens strong of hyacinths, too much so. I love the smell of hyacinths but this is overwhelming. I’m hoping it will ease up on the dry down to get more of the sandalwood but not so far. If I were to wear this again, it would be best during the day and maybe early spring. This is definitely not my favorite. If anyone is interested, I have a 1oz available for trade!

Not normally the kind of perfume I would go for, but picked it up on sale and pleasantly surprised. Great for daytime wear or something to wear to the office that won’t offend anyone. Very, very floral, soft and powdery. Not great staying power, but perfect for daytime, especially in hot & humid climates where anything stronger will give you a headache & knock you out!

Michael Kors Gold Luxe is beautiful and opulent! This is what gold should smell like. This 2013 Luxe version is spicier, but smoother than the original Michael Kors, which is too heady for me, and it’s much better than the 2011 gold version. The notes are very well-blended, and it doesn’t have the sharp edges to it like the other versions. I love this one and wish I had discovered it sooner.

    Has this changed? You list:
Top note is hyacinth; middle notes are tuberose and gardenia; base note is sandalwood.
    Website/Sephora list:
    Notes:
    Tuberose, Plumeria, Musk.
Big difference….only similar note is tuberose.
Just wondering before I hit the store tonight to try it…

Just tried this from a carded sample ,two sprays. My opinion ? Smells a LOT like Kim Kardashian’s first one ( which was a tribute to the original MK scent so …definite family resemblance). My nose says Gardenia opening probably with Freesia for extra sweetness. Then it moves to the heart which smells like it’s Tuberose and a light Patchouli which continue till they die down to skin scent level about two hours later. (Similar to the longevity of Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy).Tested on a rainy day temps in the 60-mid 70s. I’m not getting any Hyacinth ,Ambergris ,or Sandalwood to amount to anything on my skin.
For people cautious about Patchouli, this is noticeable but not harsh like Angel edp ,Prada,or Fancy Nights ( dark wash jean level with little or no sanding would be my visual for darkness of Patchouli level) . This is more like J Lo’s Love & Light as far as the note compares ( light baby blue to medium wash jean color in Patchouli depth/darkness ).
To sum up : sweet Tuberose floral with a medium -light Patchouli for dissonance and fairly poor longevity . Nice but not extremely remarkable,I prefer the original and the Suede flanker that I already own.

First Michael Kors fragrance I LOVE!!! It gets better the longer I have it on. Just bought the Rose Gold but think I like the Luxe Gold even better. I like this for day or night. Maybe too strong for spring or summer but I plan to try it out.

WOW…:) I usually didnt care for the original mk..or too much tuberose…but this version is so so fresh and i think one of the best versions ever of this fragrance…this out beats even the gold rose version….this is much more fresher, slightly green and a touch of fruity floral waves and gardenia fresh petals , while still keeping the beauty of the original but without the heady heaviness of it. just beautiful! this is a fav for sure in my top 5 fragrances…sexy but fresh…when it runs out ..def..rebuy!!
