Description

The latest edition by the house of Ralph Lauren belongs to the collection of men’s fragrance Polo which finally celebrates the fiery red color this year.

Polo RED is announced as a ferocious and energizing fragrance which includes ingredients fitting the red color. The composition opens with red grapefruit united with cranberry and Italian lemon. The heart of the composition emphasizes accords of red sage, red saffron and lavender, while the “red notes” in the base are described with red wood, hot amber and fragrant coffee beans! The spicy red composition of woody-spicy character is signed by perfumer Olivier Gillotin, carrying the scent of strength, masculinity and character.

Ralph Lauren Polo Red arrives in characteristic flacon colored in red, as 45 ml, 75 ml and 125 ml Eau de Toilette along with aftershave 150 ml, 75 ml deo spray and hair and body bath 200 ml.

Polo Red was launched in 2013.

This is another fragrance that really stood out to me. As im smelling other things, I just kept coming back to it. I just think it is a really beautiful blend. The amber and cranberry hit me first, but the sage and saffron lift it up. Performance not amazing. Sad, this is a really good scent, and still might buy a whole bottle.

I had a girlfriend that loves this fragrance, so then I started to like it too.
I was in Spain doing the « Camino de Santiago », affer the trip, we went to Madrid shopping, I went to Douglas, which is like a department store as macy’s or nordstrom but only of cosmetics and perfumes.
I was looking for my favourite fragrance that was Polo Red, I bought the biggest bottle of 125 ml. Today I still love this fragrance, this is a woody – citrusy – flora fragrance, I actually smell it and I think in the color RED, not kidding, even though my likes change and now my fav is adg, satisfies all my needs and I love that citrusy – woody touch, that makes girls crazy. Anyway, I still love it, the only thing I don’t like much is the longevity, doesn’t last more than 2 – 3 hours, I was upset when I bought it for my first time, in that case I prefere Polo Blue.

Polo Red is a fresh spicy aromatic. The fragrance is composed of a dynamic blend of red ingredients—which include saffron, red coffee cherries, red grapefruit, and red cedar. To this day, I still don’t think I ever encountered a more mind-blowing fragrance in my life!
Polo Red is an ultimate men’s fragrance to the core. Sweet and spicy. Masculine‒yet charming. It touches you with such an intensive romantic pressure, and provides the most dynamic stimulation I’ve ever experienced from a fragrance!
The first time I tried this, I only took some cards home from Macy’s and sat them on my desk. Their aroma began to totally dominated the atmosphere. The essence was so hot and heavy! I was overtaken by the fiery accord of sweet and spicy notes. My heart started to beat rapidly in my chest! I had thought, “This must be the single greatest men’s fragrance of all time!” I couldn’t wait to put this to better use! I had thought of all the pleasing and teasing I could do with this.
Ralph Lauren must have went to Oliver Gillotin like, “I want to see your best fragrance. You know I’m a very wealthy man, and the one thing I value above all others is quality. Whatever the price is—I’m willing to pay it.” I wouldn’t be surprised if Ralph Lauren even made this fragrance himself‒because I can’t imagine any typical perfumer that would part with such a masterpiece.
Polo Red is a perfect embodiment of the Ralph Lauren brand. The quality of the work, the passion put into it, and all the good feelings you get, from wearing such feel-good luxury items. That’s really how amazing Polo Red comes off to me. Just the best money can buy.

I absolutely love the scent. It’s wonderful. Earthy, fresh, not too spicy, warm but not too warm. I don’t smell any coffee here. I just might buy a bottle!

Nice scent.. Fresh, sweet and strong floral notes
The top notes is a bit fruity with short blast of freshness.
The base notes projects strong floral and a subtle hint of coffee.
I could’ve sworn the floral scent is often used on certain soap bar.. Which i couldn’t point my finger yet
    Definitely suitable for casual wear
But don’t spray too much though, the base notes will easily overwhelms you
On my skin, the scent fade after 3 hours.
    Longevity : 5/10
    Projection : 6/10

I bought Polo Red back when I knew little about the superior scents and thought Polo was the bomb.
BUT, I will say this fragrance is very well done! When I put this on I get a very warm spicy smell combined with citrus. It is also somewhat sweet but is undeniably masculine.
Longevity- Unfortunately this cologne does not last long for me. To me It only last 2-3 hours at tops with 4 sprays.
Would I buy again? I would probably not buy this again but it is a very pleasant scent and I would recommend if asked.
    The Gents score 8/10

hint of citrus but huge saffron, woods and amber; sweet

Polo red is your get to go scent when you want something a bit spicy but that can fit any casual situations.
Cranberries, amber, coffee. That’s a nice mix. Unfortunatly, there seems to be saffron in it but I can’t smell it at all and I know what saffron smells like I use it for cooking rice. So I got Safran Troublant instead to get my dose.
Anyway, Polo red definitly feels more expensive than it is. And most people agrees it’s the best of the Lauren line. It’s warm spicy vibe is elegant but youthful, it is refined and a bit bold at the same time. You have to chose for yourself. To me, it seems a bit ageless. I guess this is a big compliment.
If you got Davidoff The Brilliant Game, you might find similarities but Polo Red seems a bit less gourmand and a bit more refreshing. Where Davidoff tried to put a bit too much, Ralph Lauren got the perfect formula for a red scent.
It’s not the end of the world, but if you dont want to pay much and smell nice and just a bit mysterious, Polo Red will do the job. It is so widly known though, even if people can’t pinpoint what you’re wearing, it will rings a bell. So dont think you’re going original, you’re just going nice, warm, loveable. It is above my expectations. Everytime I spray it, im quite happy with that decent deal I got for the bottle. This is generic sexiness. If it plays well on your skin, you might get even more reactions than I did. But I must say the welcoming was positive. Nobody disliked it. But nobody fell in love with it.
This is the kind of fragrance you would put in your backpack as an emergency. It has nothing shameful about it. It’s just a good, average, spicy fragrance you can pull out anytime you want!
    Thanks for reading my review!

The scent is suitable when the valentine day has coming..Sharp with the cranberry, citrus, grape and wood..Nice to spring and winter seasons! but the longevity is so bad.

An EXTREME MEN’S cologne for the loose cannon who lives on the EDGE.
Well no, not even close despite the marketing, BUT it is very unique scent, definitely unlike any other men’s cologne. The cranberry, amber, and coffee are the most prevalent notes.
One spray will last you about 2 hours.
Because it’s so unique and not very strong, my best recommendation would be to use it day and night when visiting someplace you really want to remember. When you return home, only bring it out on rare occasions when you want to remember that place.
But if you’re not the sentimental type it’s a pretty safe workplace cologne.

Remember, if it doesn’t work for you, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t work for others. Just might be your nose is burnt or have bad chemistry with a scent.

If i could name this fragrance I would Name it Polo Red EXTREME USELESS ..
    Why?
Because the abysmal longevity. Not matter what I do (spray clothes, pulse points) this thing is gone in 45 mins no sillage.
I feel bad for whoever paid for this ripoff.. (was a gift)

I tested this for the first time. Opens up with the dominance of cranberry accompanied by grapefruit. Very very sweet seductive and sexy. Versatile good for winter and fall. As a sweet fragrance id prefer it for afternoons and night. I find it great to attract women and take them on a date. However the only thing that lacks alot is the performance. The base notes dont smell and no trail of them. Couldnt detect coffee. I ll give this fragrance 7.5 / 10

  14. :

    5 out of 5

Smell really good, is not a second buy though. The opening is a little strong and a strong silage, then start to dry down and smell even better. I definitely recommend this fragance smell good and women seem to like it. Blind buy and it’s under 40 dollars nowadays. 😉

  15. :

This is one of my favorite fragrances. So versatile, can be worn anytime. It opens up with a fresh, crisp citrus scent mixed with cranberries, then slowly reveals this amber/vanilla soft and sexy scent while keeping a little citrusy punch in the background. It’s suitable for adventurous people, I’d say 18-30yrs old. Definitely gets complimented a lot. Sillage is moderate, arms length, maybe a little more in the first hour, and longevity is about 2-3h strong then fades away for about 1-2 more hours. Amazing signature scent for a young ambitious guy. Females seem to enjoy it too, seeing as they keep leaning towards my neck.

    Smells fantastic. Performs horribly. 5/10

    3 out of 5

Nice enough fragrance, nothing unique or mind blowing. Good office fragrance for the younger crowd. Light and non offensive. Amber gives it warmth. Carry a travel atomizer for a refresh a couple times a day cause it’s longevitiy is poor. Considering its poor longevity this should be at a lower price point. Pass from me.

  18. :

    4 out of 5

Sharp with the cranberry and citrus ,but after completely changes into an earthy smooth seductive scent ,like in the red extreme version the coffee works so well in this scent and transforms it from how you first expect ,intriguing and decieving

I could be wrong but sadly I believe this has been reformulated. I originally had this when it first came out and it was fairly strong and bold but I recently acquired a 3rd bottle of this recently and it was very weak. I bought this from a reputable place that I’ve bought other colognes from and they have been legit in the past but when I got this and wore it I was almost convinced this was a fake.
Then the next day I went to sephora and tried Polo Red and unfortunately it was still very weak and I could barely smell it on the test strip and before it lasted me 5-8 hours but now lasts me 1-3 hours. The smell also was very watered down as the cranberry note isn’t as rich and not as sweet. I’m guessing this is because now since there are more current versions Polo may be trying to save money since this is no longer popular.
Such a shame because I actually preferred the OG 🙁

This one is my introduction to designer’s fragances. I used to wear it as my everyday scent on School and all the girls loved it, sweet fragance almost gourmand, as other reviewers have stated “like skittles”. The big problem with this one always have been the longevity and projection. On my skin 4-5 hours longevity, on my clothes almost 8 hours. 1 hour of projection.
In my country (Chile) it is very expensive compared to websites of USA….
Polo Red 6.7 oz-> 153 dollars on most retail stores.
Polo Red 6.7 oz -> 70 dollars on Amazon, on Walmart from 69 to 90 dollars.
Has anyone tried Polo Red Extreme?

Picture a Preppie College freshman with a Ralph Lauren or Tommy Hilfiger polo shirt at the club
This “preppie “kid loves to seek attention and can be a bit “douchy” but he doesn’t care , he just wants the ladies that’s it .
That is how u describe polo red in a nutshell
    Longevity- 4-5 hours
Sillage – 1-2 hours sooo weak
    Scent- 6.5/10 sweet,citrusy,grape fruity,generic
    Overall – 5.8/10

  22. :

    4 out of 5

Polo Red is both masculine and sophisticated. A real nice summer scent for either day or night. Unfortunately, very poor longevity as after two to three hours the scent is completely gone. So disappointing!!!!!!!!!

  23. :

    4 out of 5

I believe RL is adrift at sea. Red. It does smell “red”, for sure, but not like anything listed in the notes. I was excited about cranberry, but all I get is a sweet, sugary generic candy-red smell that is anything but tart cranberry. Coffee? Not a whiff anywhere. Red wood? What is that? Hot amber? Are they making these things up? The result is neither hot nor spicy, but a tepid sweet fruitiness that dissipates quickly into a skin scent. Probably good to wear to the prom or if you’re on a very short date.

  24. :

    4 out of 5

I love it! It smells f’ing fantastic! There is a downside, and that is the longevity. Fix that, and it would be sex in a bottle.

  25. :

    5 out of 5

This is for the 18 to 25 who likes to be mysterious and playful or for the older guy who can pull of wearing red, with a nice car and a nonchalant attitude.
This lasts 4 hours on me and is heavy on the top notes. I hear the parfum edition doesn’t last any longer.
A beautiful scent that is short lived, sadly.
I think this fragrance still is unique with a sense of cranberries or red fruit , smoothness. It has a Italian vibe that is more playful than elegant or manly.
I would suggest you try this . 4 out of 5

I’ve owned a few perfumes from RL: Safari, Polo (Green), Polo Sport, Polo Sport Extreme, Blue, Black and this one.
The only one I hate is this one.

This one has a nice strawberry fruity type scent, its worth a buy.

  28. :

    3 out of 5

Compared to many of its contemporaries Polo Red is actually a terrific scent. Too bad it doesn’t stick around. Way too fleeting.
I do plan of giving the intense version a whirl. If the fragrance is close to this one and they fixed the longevity issues, I’m in.

  29. :

    5 out of 5

Polo Red is one of my favorite summer go to colognes, but the only negative is that it has no silage or staying power as it evaporates in less than three hours. It’s a real pity as this can otherwise be an incredible scent! Love the fruity notes along with the citrus notes and beautiful warm dry down.

  30. :

    4 out of 5

No character to speak of. The typical sweet mish mash of our times with absolutely no recall value. The drydown is better than opening and the mid but all in all this fragrance could be this, or that, or the other one….you get the point.

  31. :

    5 out of 5

This scent breaks my heart!! Absolutely my #1 favorite scent on the planet, but it has zero longevity!

  32. :

    4 out of 5

The Intense one is like the darker version of this one if you’ve ever smelled it.
This has a light mix of fruits ( some said cranberry to be specific, and it would be correct ) it’s an enjoyable mix and very subtle.
Something to enjoy and maybe to have, nothing to go crazy for in my opinion.
Good time to wear it ( as I am now ) summer to late summer, warmer is better but cooler isn’t bad either. I’d lean on the warmer so the heat can make it stand out a bit more.
You will get compliments for it here and there thats for sure.
One thing I noticed, on the dry down, it does remind me of l’homme by YSL

I remember when this came out..i was reading a mag at B&N in the mall, and came across the ad with the sample flap. Smelled it, and ran right over to Boston Store to pick up the biggest nottle they had. Ive gone through two now, just a little left, but thats ok since i got the extreme version now. Yes Polo Red is slightly more light and brighter of a scent, but better than the intense imo.
It wears close to the skin, but why is that a bad thing to so many? I dont try to throw or project my cologne at people, thats just intrusive and rude, a call for attention that i dont see as appropriate. Yet people complain and talk about ‘sillage’!!! Okay. For one, wow how pretentiously absurd to talk about a scent trail, you must think your a magical unicorn, &everyone should smell u in your wake as you trot along your colorful unicorn path, farting rainbows and pooping out sherbert. It’s a little douchy, guys. Secondly, i believe that many people are opining ignorantly, on the basis that their noses have grown accustomed to the scent, when they say “omg it dissappeared after an hour! Do not buy!” Its not fair to those who read reviews, fellas. Its sorta like false information, its misleading, please take your heads outta your asses. I do take notice of actual weakness in fragrances; that being said, i must agree that Polo Red does have a limited timeframe of performance. But as a ‘skin scent’ (i feel weird and creepy saying that), i still like it, even if it does diminish itself to a faint cedar effect at the end. If you spray enough on, you’ll be able to smell it the next morning in the shower, so apply liberally, thats my advice, folks. All together, Polo Red is unique, and those comparisons to other scents dont hold any weight whatsoever, regarding the true ‘feel’ of this scent. Haters keep hating! Me, ima keep lovin it. The first born son is the fortunate one!

Just bought this fragrance a week ago and although I really love the scent with it’s base woody accord with a hint of coffee and the top notes using cranberry which smells delightful, unfortunately the longevity and Sillage are really poor and after an hour or two is gone with the wind!

  35. :

    4 out of 5

One of the first fragrances I bought. I really like the smell but on me the performance is really bad.
3-4 sprays and just after an hour or two it’s barely a skin scent.
Projection is bad from the start as well.
But I still like it since the smell is so good.
It seems pointless to use for work or when going out for longer periods since it will be gone so fast, so now I mostly use it after a shower when at home or when I go out for just an hour or two.
I would try the intense version over this if you are thinking about buying it.

    Happy Father’s Day Daddy
Red is the color he likes most. He’s got a red Mustang convertible and lots of red ties. Now this ‘red’ cologne that I bought for him as a gift for Father’s Day June 18 2017 He’s already tried it on and loved it! This is not a new fragrance. The new flanker Red Intense is a stronger concentration than this one. My dad says he likes this cologne. It’s manly despite the berry and fruit notes and the florals. Coffee notes are now found in both men and women and unisex fragrances. This is a thoroughly modern man’s cologne for a night out on the town, whether on a romantic date or ‘hanging out’ with buddies at a sports bar. It has a casual and warm air, so it seems suited to autumn or winter.
Red opens with a boozy cranberry alcohol note like a red currant wine with a discernable and rather typical citrus top which smells of red blood grapefruit and a tart lemon. The grapefruit and cranberry totally match up. Cranberry it is but not like cranberry juice or the kind of cranberry you get at Thanksgiving. This is definitely more of a recreated light cranberry of a liquored up type. The opening is not 100 percent traditionally masculine and one might argue that this is unisex in disguise as a man’s cologne.
Some women would respond favorably to the cranberry and citrus plus the floral heart. The heart has a greenish and Oriental style saffron. The saffron note is found in women’s perfumes i.e. Marc Jacobs Decadence (another unisex) and saffron in Victoria Secret Intense. But don’t think that this is not masculine at all. It is. But it’s not aggressive or macho man. It’s laidback, fresh and fruity and alcoholic with a relaxed and very confident quiet playboy style attitude. I can smell this on Hugh Hefner wearing a cranberry red smoking jacket. Totally a smoking jacket cologne.
The red color theme is all over this thing. In the dry down the wood is redwood or rosewood smelling of a deep reddish wood polished and clean, dry, but balsamic with a genuine amber note. The coffee note is there as well but it’s like a deep red tinged coffee and red rum type of scent.
Smells like someone has Irish-upped your coffee and spiked it with booze. There is no musk so it’s not one of those big manly colognes but it has a warmth and cozy feel like drinking a good strong hot beverage. My dad had no complaints about it. I would say that it suits a man of any adult age between 18 to 80. This has excellent staying power and sillage but it’s moderate and does not throw out too much of its scent. Smells good for spritzing on when you have finished dressing and you head out the door. My dad smells good wearing this.
Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there

The intense polo red is so much better better projection more pronounced more complex more frutier and less citrus and overal better smell i love the sweet tart opening of cranberry and it lasted 1 hour and there u get the drydown of cofee amber with hints of ginger and grapefruit but the cranberry in polo red lasted only 20 minutes and u begin to smell like cofee amber and the intense is still going strong with the berry polo red intense smell 9/10 projection 8/10 longlasting 8.5/10

I just have a general question. As I know smelling these scents is totally subjective. I’ve smelled this and one of the other Polo reds on the strip included in some men’s mags. One was really fruity and bright, the other was completely the opposite spicy and kinda dark. Not to my liking at all the latter was. The thing is, I can’t remember which was which. I’m thinking it was the polo red and not the intense one that had the bright fruity vibe. I’d appreciate it if any body could clear this up for me if at all possible…. Thanks in advance!

I really like this scent. I am not a fan of Polo, but I like the three in the Red Line.
Update: I bought a 30ml travel bottle of Polo Red Intense. It is as advertised…more intense than Red and a step up. These are the two best in the Polo line Red Intense followed by Red. Polo Red Extreme smells nothing like Red or Red Intense and not as good.
Polo Red is good, I used up my bottle, received compliments, but won’t re-buy. Polo Red Intense is even better, but there are many other fragrances that are better than either Red Intense or Red.

  40. :

This scent is absolutely amazing smelling, there’s absolutely nothing synthetic about this scent. You get hit with the cranberries and light coffee notes, the amber rounds & smooths this scent out so nicely, then it develops into something more amazing on the drydown. I love this for a night out on the town, whether dinner and drinks, or pub hopping to try different beers. This scent is versatile to wear anywhere actually.
    Scent:9.5
    Longevity:6
    Sillage:5 Sillage is only average
    Unique/Industry First:7 Cranberries and Coffee

I’ve never met a woman that doesn’t absolutely love this scent. All of the Polo Red’s are amazing. Red, Red Intense, and Red Extreme.

I just got a bottle and I am loving it. The cranberry, amber and coffee work really well on my skin and I’m getting a solid 8 hours with arms length projection for about 4 with two sprays on my neck and two on my shirt. Definitely worth having.

Smells great, but doesn’t last long.

I do enjoy this fragrance quite a bit. I love the zesty opening, and the dry down of coffee and chocolate is nice. My impression is that is a sophisticated take on Axe Dark Temptation. I am not a wearer of Axe products, although I certainly appreciate that the company has made wearing a scent more mainstream…like the beginning stages of a cologne/perfume aficionado. But definitely a Dark Temptation vibe, with brighter notes and more complexity.

love the clothes but not the frags 🙁 i swear i have tried
polo red opens with a pleasant cranberry note and a blast of honey and spic which to most on here seems to be heaven but i cant seem to look past the fact that this scent reminds me of something a older man would wear even tho this doesn’t exactly smell old more like a modern twist on a older scent?
polo red seems to have a very heavy cologne vibe one so heavy that im afraid if you over sprayed it maybe possibly clear a room
i can see why so many people seem to love this scent as it does fall into that dark rich and spicy category that most men seem to find appealing but i would think to a trained nose this smells very synthetic and over done
i personally wouldn’t hate on someone who loves this but i find it my duty to try and steer them into something with more substance
i wont be adding this to my collection as im to far into my fragrance journey and know that for this price point you can find something better
either way give this a try you may just love it
    on to the next

I bought this based on internet reviews, and am not disappointed, it’s good, but not my signature scent.
Very fruity notes when first sprayed on and as it dries, you can detect the woodsy notes, but just barely. As sweet as this fragrance is, it is almost like a woman’s perfume, so I can agree with those that say this can be a unisex fragrance. Definitely not as masculine as Polo Blue.
Projection is about average, sillage about average, and longevity is about average. On the whole, an average cologne that is a little on the sweet side. This is something I would wear for maybe a day in between my better colognes.

I bought a .5oz bottle to try it out. My first impression is cotton candy. Then I get some other scents. Sort of smells like cotton candy mixed with Paloma Picasso’s Minotaure.
    I definitely don’t hate it.

This is a nice fragrance, not long lasting at all though it could be my skin as certain fragrances do not last long at all, if purchasing try first or buy a 30ML, I still have a big bottle and I just blast it throughout the day in work, I recevied a compliment when I just sprayed it and my colleague came sniff my neck an hour late and it has literally disappeared.

I am so taken back by this fragrance. I got a sample size bottle in a package deal and decided to spray it on my hand and forgot about it, through out the day i kept smelling Fruit Punch, Cranberry and Grapefruit and was shocked to find out it was the Polo Red.
The smell is spicy at the initial spray but quickly settles into the fruity notes.
The smell it settles on is Fruit Punch but oddly switches back and forth to a spicy note. Eventually the Fruit Punch is what dominates.
I will be purchasing the 3.4 oz bottle very soon!
    Major Notes: Fruit Punch/Cranberry
Last about 3-4 hours for me after initial sprays.
    Scent: 8.7/10
    Projection: 7.8/10

This fragrance continues to surprise me. Sometimes all I smell is cranberry/fruit punch/lemon…other times all I smell is spice/cedar/wood. It’s subtle enough to wear anytime while its longevity is good enough to be applied in the morning and last the day. I really like it…I’ve been wearing it often.

This is an edit. I have had more nights out with it and my previous review didn’t do it justice. This is one of my signature date night scents. Its a nice scent, women love it. Coffee, cranberry, and amber are the main players here. The sillage and longevity are not that good though. Just the cologne alone gets you about 2 hours longevity. You’ll also have about a foot of silage for the same time. Layering it with the deodorant and aftershave balm and body spray adds layers that keep it going little bit longer. If you like the scent don’t just stop at the spray, try to get an accompanying product to enhance it. The smell beats the edp version but not performance. This is a richer, more complex scent than the edp.

This is my revised review of Polo Red as of 1/12/16:
Ralph Lauren Polo Red is a very good flanker to Ralph Lauren Polo. It is sweet but no where near as soapy as its earlier flanker brother Polo Blue. To me this is in the best way possible. Polo Red while sweet is kind of on the dark side. It’s a night scent but at the same time, light enough to last in daytime as well. This to me is the gourmand of the Polo line and a very good one at that.
The three things I get from this scent are red velvet, woody, and citrus. Somehow the cranberry note in the top, into the coffee heavy base give off a very red velvet like smell to me. The woody note supplements the coffee bean note in the base. The scent is also citrusy in the open with Italian Lemon (a note I have found in other notes) as well as grapefruit.
As I mentioned, Polo Red is a gourmand. It is a lighter gourmand. It gives soft to moderate sillage even when it projects, but it produces a very nice pleasant smell. One that I find can last anywhere from 4 to 6 hours. It’s a three season all day scent lasting from Fall into Spring but can keep up on cooler summer nights after say a thunder storm clears out. I wore it on Fourth of July night and it was fine. I can see it being a good date scent due to the lighter projection. I think that it also really works as a work scent. I ddo think that this is NOT a clubbing scent.
I’d rate this as a 8.2/10 because it lasts, smells good and is pretty viable in a number of different situations. If you want one that projects, get Polo Red Intense. Otherwise, this isn’t a bad option. For pricing, it might be a really good idea to go with the Red Classic Match. As it stands, Polo Red is my favorite of the normal Polos (Blue, Green and Black.)

This is one of my absolute favourite fragrances. Unfortunately it is not long lasting. Some times I have to put my nose to the skin to feel the smell after only 15-20 minutes. Thats to weak. But the scent itself is so good that it compensates the weakness. This fits every season of the year in my opinion. Top 3 on my list!

This is absolutely now a unisex fragrance. Top note isn’t I’ll grant you, but the dry down is very familiar to people who love women’s/Unisex gourmand perfume. It’s an interesting example, as they usually are when they stop being lazy and defaulting to vanilla bomb but it seems like they forgot to replace the vanilla.
This seems very much to be a unisex fragrance marketed at men who would normally not touch unisex with a 10ft bargepole.

I just bought this yesterday. Its my newest perfume and one of my very favorites. I sampled most of the other “colors” of Polo, and I didn’t think any of them were special, some I really disliked. I just passed by a Macy’s counter this month, sampled POLO RED for the first time, and fell in love with the scent. I tried it a few times, since I wanted to be sure. I’m sure! I have a dozen other fragrances, so I didn’t really need more, but this scent is special. Its very sweet and reminds me of cotton candy. I haven’t seen it on anyone’s Top Ten list, but its on mine. I also bought the “intense” perfume version at the same time, and while they are very close, this one has a better scent, IMHO. I am going to try alternating them, and layering them to see how much projection and longevity I can get out of the combination.

This could have been called Polo Ralph Lauren Gentlemen Only.
That’s how smooth and elegant it is. A masterpiece.
If Invictus was Superman, then this could be Clark Kent. An elegant gentlemanly “strong and quiet type” aroma, peaceful, but equally masculine to it’s louder prouder more virile brother.
The coffee and wood notes paired up with the flowery fruity sweetness creates a romantic effect, almost aphrodisiac.
There really is no way to improve this aroma except to make an Eau de Parfum version. Polo Red Intense is not that version because it has extra notes that turn it into a completely different odor. What is needed is the exact same odor, but greater projection and staying power. Ralph Lauren needs to retain Polo Red as a classic and never discontinue it. It’s that good.

Polo Red just travelled over to my offseason shelf. As for a breakfast comparison it is pretty easy to suggest that it is a half cut unpeeled chilled red grapefruit that you eat with a serated spoon.
Polo Red is a fabulous fragrance. It gives you a sweet cranberry, citru
