Polo Blue Sport is a fresh aromatic. It bears no resemblance to the original Polo Blue, but appears to be created as a stripped down version of the original Polo Sport instead. It carries the prominent mint and seaweed accord at the forefront. The accord has a sweet pungent essence to it‒but this version is a bit lighter and fresher. And akin to that note, a little easier to the senses in ways. The original Polo Sport was a major hit-or-miss with many people. You loved it for its depth‒or were turned off by its depth.
This version of the formula seems to strive for some middle-ground between the two ends, and I think it does extremely well to capture that middle-ground. It takes the most beloved attribute of the original‒and makes it new and refreshing. The body is sweetened up with botanical accents and fruit. And the mint here is a bit more mentholated than in the original. It makes the fragrance easier to enjoy at first for its lightness, but without the body can get a little linear after awhile, and thus a little harder to enjoy for the longterm.
A very nice alternative to the original Polo Sport though‒through-and-through. And to any lovers of the original, I wouldn’t even call this one redundant, due to the uniqueness of its Eau Fraiche qualities.

    Huuuum !
    I love.
A simple, fresh, clean, fruity (juicy) and woody fragrance.
    Versatile, any situation or season.
    Performance is average-good.
Women love : ” hummm, you smell very good ! ”
It remembers me Boss bottled unlimited.

Very nice and unique fragrance. My girl really likes this one on me, everytime she says you smell so good again babe

Hate the fact I have to admit: like it. Cool, refreshing, comforting. But I have great excuse not to buy one. Performance is non existent.

I love this one. It smells super fresh and clean. The mint is a nice mint not tooth paste mint. Very masculine. I always get compliments at the office wearing this. It projects well for 3 or 4 hours then becomes a skin scent. It lasts me through an 8 hour work day as far as longevity goes. I can’t imagine this offending anyone. Easily could be a signature scent. This will always be in my rotation.
UPDATE: So not sure if it has been reformulated but I just ordered 2 bottles and they last maybe half a work day.

Its a clean scent, can not turn off any one.
    Its for summers.
A golfer or polo player on the field should smell like this, or I must say a sports man when dressed up should smell like this.
    Its fresh & Spicy.
    Its cheap as well.
Longevity is very very very very poor – 10 sprays might for for 3-4 hours

    Scent: 7
    Sillage: 8
    Longevity: 8
    Pros
    – Lasts and projects for a long time on my skin and clothes
    – Fresh apple and mint notes cut through the blazing summer heat
    – Clean, simple, fresh
    Cons
    – Personally I don’t see anything special about the scent, its just another average summer scent
    – Definitely better options for the price

Polo Blue Sport smells nice, but quickly tired, has a fresh, fruity and sharp output given by green apple, mint and tangerine, Cedar note in the first minutes is barely distinguishable, but eventually becomes an essential part its aroma. At the heart of the sage, ginger and “green notes” give the green aromatic nature, while the base is very traditional in such fragrances tonka bean, musk, sandalwood, patchouli and oak moss.
I found him like two fragrances, Polo Sport and Hugo by Hugo Boss, as if they had made a mixture of both to take now the Polo Blue Sport. Projects well in the first few minutes and is very dynamic, but then becomes dull, lacks that touch of suede and fruits like melon that had the Blue Polo and that makes it more interesting than this fragrance. In addition it ends up being very generic.
Its duration is good, but like all the Polo line is not at all a cheap fragrance. I still like more Polo Sport and Polo Blue.

A toned down and modern version of Polo Sport. Im glad that the note of seagrass is out of the picture. The top notes are a little “girly” but wait a couple of minutes and it’s allright. To sum it up, a fresh summer scent.

I bought this to my boyfriend for Christmas. I really like this fragrance on him, it’s menly, fresh and gives him more power. As a woman I totally love it!

Opens with a strange apple; and am I the only one the gets a synthetic mint? (Like Listermint?) Not very nice. After a minute or so it improves: mandarin, ginger, sage and patchouli all finding their expression. The drydown is fresh and clean and miles nicer – a “just emerged from the shower” ambiance.
Just so I’m clear: for what it worth, Blue Sport is actually alright. Totally inoffensive; but rather lacking any clear identity, and certainly having little in the way of personality. It’s just very clean and powdery fresh. And, all too typical of the vast majority of aquatics. I’m reminded of Adidas Cool shower gel.
Is it really worthy of the RL brand? I bought it cheap as chips online. (Maybe I’m being unfair, but It’s about all that it’s worth, I’m afraid to say).

Wow. I love how people rag on the name and the bottle. Who gives a rats a$$ about that!? What matters is the juice inside and this stuff is legit. I just got a bottle of this and this is an absolute gem. Great opening… Great dry down… Great fragrance… period.

Upon wearing this it reminded me of polo sport in scent and also performance. It lasted about 30 minutes and it was gone. Great scent butbut unfortunetly a pass

Clean, Fresh, with a touch of mint…
For those of you who like “fresh showered feeling” fragrances, you will love Polo Blue Sport. Obviously, I am fan of Ralph Lauren fragrances, housing eleven (11) in my cologne stable (how did you like the pony reference..??). Among these, I am especially fond of Polo Black and Polo Blue, and now adding Polo Blue Sport to my (favorite) Top 10. Out of the bottle, Blue Sport is a pleasant blend of fruity notes with a blast of mint that settles into an “easy on the nose” aromatic fragrance. The projection/sillage is average, or slightly above average, with decent staying power – lasting a solid 6 hours, as noted by others, and much longer on clothing.
Blue Sport offers great flexibility to be worn day or night, but given the “freshness” of the fragrance, I am thinking Spring or Summer would be the ideal seasons. Blue Sport can easily be worn by all ages, from those young “whipper snappers” to us mid-40s (and still roguishly handsome I might add) guys wanting to be noticed and labeled, “great smelling”… The bottle and packaging are first class and nicely done – I would, however, have chosen a “chrome” cap versus the “gold” cap – given the minty finish, the chrome may be more fitting…
My final tally of Polo Blue Sport is 4.7 stars out of 5 stars. If the projection/sillage were better, perhaps a Top 5 fragrance. Definitely recommend adding to your collection.
Daily I.M. – “Choose Integrity – it is doing the right thing when no one is watching… It is a way of life…”

Polo Blue Sport is liked more often than not by the average nose. When I walk into a Polo store and browse the fragrance section, the sales associates tend to ask, “Ooh, have you tried the white bottle yet?” referring to Polo Blue Sport. It is a crowd-pleaser.
The perfume starts with a sort of soft, fruity bubblegum-powder stemming from the melange of green apple, mint, mandarin orange, and light musk/moss/fern. It’s a pleasant cleanliness! The more you smell it, the more green it feels with soft lavender floating around. The mandarin orange and ginger provide something I can only describe as zingy. Polo Blue Sport is certainly a fresh one! The projection is pretty good for the first couple of hours, and then it becomes an intimate scent.
Although salespeople seem to love it, I don’t think this fragrance is for me. There is something odd in the dry-down that doesn’t quite fit right on me.

I agree with CocoAy, it is Sex in a Bottle. I love Polo Blue Sport, actually no I am in love with it. My boyfriend told me whenever he has it on I am 10x more in the mood. The scent is sexy and I could smell it forever. Ugh, it is the best and I hope my boyfriend wears it forever.

Bland, generic, uninspired release by the Ralph Lauren house that offers little to nothing for noses already familiar with the standard aquatic aromatic and aromatic green fare. This one starts off very fruity and minty with the green apple and mint mingling with a hint of woodsy, soft cedar that conjures up memories of Hugo by Hugo Boss poorly blended with Nautica White Sail and a handful of other lightly spiced, fruity and aromatic fragrances on the market since the mid 1990s. The heart is rather jarring and is the moment when Polo Blue Sport takes a turn for the worse, being overwhelmed with a very synthetic and abrasive green note that in combination with the sage and Ginger creates an astringent, nasal piercing dryer sheets and detergent accord that asserts itself over the apple and mint and dominates well into the dry down. The rest is mostly a musky green synthetic note that fades into a skin scent after 2-3 hours of wear. Performance is somewhat spotty but seems to do best in moderately warm weather in spring and early summer. 4-6 hours is the norm after 10 wearings on my skin with projection moderate at first and fading to soft within a couple of hours. The scent is not for those who enjoy organic notes or truly artistic endeavors, Polo Blue Sport is strictly a release for the gent who is new to fragrance and is simply looking for something to cover up the smell of sweat and sport. This is not for impressing others. Overpriced given the better alternatives out there, insipid and uninspired blending, an impression of several Nautica’s thrown together into one bottle. Below average quality.

OK at best. Apples and mint with a hint of spice. Nothing new and very typical of RL. A very safe scent for the newbies.

Since the launch of Polo for Men, in 1978, the fragrances division of Ralph Lauren came to be linked, automatically, to the famous green bottle, whose perfume is still the favorite of many men around the world. The Polo line already has more than 10 variations and is seen, generally, as a lifestyle translated into good fragrances.
Released in 2012, this Blue Sport version maintains the same shape of the classic bottles of the line, but it can lead some inattentive clients to confusion. Why?
I’ll explain: there is a version called Polo Red, White & Blue (2009), whose blue bottle has more connection with Polo Blue version than this one, which is its sports version. I still say more: the famous Polo Sport, from 1994, also has blue bottle. So, what was the point of creating a white bottle for a perfume that bears the name BLUE SPORT?
Well, speaking of the fragrance, this is a citrus-aromatic. Its top notes are green Apple, frosted Mint, Cedar leaves and Mandarin orange. In the heart, a touch of fern, ginger and Sage and, in the base, notes of patchouli, sandalwood, Oak Moss, musk and amberwood.
For the Polo Blue lovers, a total disappointment, since it didn’t inherit anything from the famous accord of melon and cucumber. For the Polo Sport lovers, full identification. I wonder if Ralph Lauren wouldn’t be thinking of discontinue Polo Sport, keeping only this Blue Sport version, since there is a great similarity between them.
It is worth remembering that, even being an EDT, it is a Sport version. However, if applied without parsimony, giving more sprays than you usually do, this cologne can have good projection and lasts in a satisfactory manner.

First cologne I purchased nothing new smells like every other average sport cologne, horrible longevity 2 hours max. I don’t recommend this, I think polo should pay you to buy this, thats how bad it is. Rating: 0.5/10

The scent is pleasing and green, some sweetness in it too. Starts sharp, finishes soft.I jumped the gun when I bought this fragrance. It can do really well for me. But it is way too unpredictable, using the bottle up, but I would not buy again.

It is a perfume for the day is its duration is medium strong and its smell is great, like a breeze green!

  27. :

    5 out of 5

My first ever cologne purchase. Comes out very strong with the first few sprays but settles quite nicely. Can get the hints of fruit and sage. By hour 3-4, sillage has decreased significantly and is better for a more intimate setting. Longevity is a hit or miss as it’s still fragrant at 5 hours but only up close. Would not buy this fragrance again.

  28. :

Nice fragrance not amazing I still like it though the green apple stands out the most I tried this one cause I own polo blue which I think is also just OK but if your thinking about buying it its a nice scent for the spring and summer longevity is around 5 to 6hrs. about average it’s a non offensive scent most people will think it’s decent i’ll give it a 6/10 it’s different nobody will know what your wearing

  29. :

Its an OK fragrance. Nothing new here. Classy/sporty, fresh and safe scent. If you are into Ralph Lauren fragrance you will like it a lot if not is a definitely pass. The performance is below average.

Smelled on a paper strip: Smells like every other trendy clean/fresh/sporty fragrance. I’m really tired of this genre.
***Mavens of Scent: It’s well past time to go elsewhere on the fragrance wheel!***
Just looking at the bottle I wouldn’t have bothered but it was one of those situations where the gal behind the counter quickly grabbed it and said “Here, try this!” without ever asking me what I like. Why don’t they ever ask first?

  33. :

Polo Blue Sport is absolutely wonderful!! It smells wonderful and lasts over 6 hours on average which is great for a fresh aquatic!
It is appropriately named for obvious reasons (smells well..a lot like original Polo Sport & Blue combined) but I think it pulls off the best of both worlds a tad bit better and I hope Ralph Lauren will consider bringing this one back on a permanent basis!
A solid purchase for lovers of Polo Blue or fresh aquatic scents 8.5/10

I used to wear Polo sport in high school. for 3 years straight I wore that stuff everyday, spraying waaaaay to much on and going through the 4.3 oz bottles like nothing (as most teens do lol). For nostalgic purposes, I always wanted to get a bottle of it again because so many memories accompanied that fragrance. I was at the mall the other day and I decided to give the polo line-up a visit once more and came across Polo Blue Sport. I am going to be honest – as someone who wore polo sport for many years, I have great difficulty distinguishing the difference between Polo Blue sport and the original polo sport. I immediately bought a bottle of it and I am instantly taken back to my highschool years and those memories. this is IMHO Polo sport in a new snazzy looking bottle. I get a little YSL Homme in the dry down, but over all, this might as well be in the blue cylinder shaped bottle with the american flag on it as the original sport was because it is the same! Oh lord do I love it!!!!

Yum yum yum! I’d be happy to use this kind of toothpaste any day, horridfrag 😉
This is a very sexy casual fragrance that I love on a man (we only have a small sample-sized bottle). It smells like what I’d imagine olympic swimmers wear haha. It’s aquatic and fresh, citrusy and light. Whoever said the first whiff is like watermelon chewing gum is right on the money. But don’t let that scare you! Its drydown is very different, and very masculine and sexy indeed. I will be buying a bottle for my hubby.

  37. :

This is my humble opinion, and never would I want to offend anyone who happen to love this fragrance. To me, the mix: minty green + fruity + spicy = smells similar to any toothpaste with either, single, double dose or multiple mints…
Having said that, it doesnt mean that I don’t like this super-fresh EDT, I like it, that’s all. Cheers!

I don’t review men’s cologne but I swear if I planned to break it off with a man who wore this, I’d wait till the bottle got finished first. The amber, musk, sandalwood and oakmoss punch leaves me breathless! Sex in a bottle.

Very mild, very safe, very clean. Some moments reminds me Jacadi Garçon, a boy’s fragrance. It’s more to the side of a soapy scent, than properly sporty. Well, maybe I´m saying that because Lacoste Booster is one of the most sporty scents I ever came across with. And this is not Polo Sport, which sometimes I find sickly sweet (allthough doesn’t smell bad). And not Polo Blue either, which is stronger in all senses, specially in the cucumber.

  41. :

This is a pretty good fragrance. As far as the smell itself goes, I definitely like it. It opens up a hint powdery I think, and that persists throughout the drydown. PBS is a very clean, fresh scent, and I heard its limited edition so that’s kind of cool too. Cool bottle as well!
The sillage is okay. Slightly below average I would say. The longevity isn’t too impressive either, but acceptable. I do 4 sprays to the chest and that lasts noticeably for about 5 hours in the office.
I would recommend trying it out.

At first whiff, I get something almost like watermelon chewing gum – along the lines of CK Escape(M). Then, rather quickly, a bitter green accord appears, with a hint of ginger and moss.
Another minute or so, and it turns into Polo Sport. WOW flashback!

I’m just wondering what the naysayers’ problem is. This fragrance is major league class in a bottle. I rate it 4.8 out of 5 (I save “5” for the perfect cologne I’ve never worn . . . yet!). Great drydown, and as the basenotes clearly reveal, you’re in for a treat. sandalwood, patchouli and oakmoss, Oh my! Those are the three BEST basenotes a man’s cologne can have, in my own humble opinion. Great stuff. sillage and longavity will be different on everybody, depending on their own body chemistry — or lack of it. I can smell this stuff all day. This is NOT “more of the same” from Polo. It is really good, appealing, clean and alluring at the same time, and worth having in your collection! Best thing they’ve done in years! Get it while the getting is good!
