Prada is launching new exclusive collection of fragrances called Prada Olfactories containing ten editions: Purple Rain, Nue au Soleil, Tainted Love, Un Chant d’Amour, Cargo de Nuit, Heat Wave, Day for Night, Double Dare, Pink Flamingos and Marienbad. The creations are signed by perfumer Daniela (Roche) Andrier who said that that the scents are all intended to be “potent concoctions of the unexpected, provoking the cinematic experience of a partially remembered dream… It’s a strong vision that is far from cliché. They’re very different from what you’ll find on the market. They’re not done studying the trends of the market and create a bestseller; they are done out of the spirit of Prada.”
The fragrances are supposedly not done studying the trends of the market, but in keeping with the spirit of the house Prada. Each bottle contains a silk purse from Prada materials.
Pink Flamingos contains fluorescent pink flowers, like Japanese rose, cherry and iris.
Available as 100 ml Eau de Parfum for $300.

Yes, Pink Flamingos is similar to LPRN extrait (which I own and love), but it’s still very different, if that makes any sense. As someone already said, this one is fizzy, and I agree. It’s also more light-hearted and fun than LPRN. It’s sweet and powdery, and there’s no question it smells slightly of cherry, but it’s not obnoxious. The sillage is great and longevity is at least 12 hours. PF is fbw for me, but rather than paying $300/bottle for it, I bought numerous 4ml. samples on eBay. I look forward to trying the rest of this collection.
I disagree that this entire line is disappointing. I’ve also tried Purple Rain, which is a beautiful iris/powder concoction.

Right when I spray this on, I can tell, “Yup, that’s cherry in there.” It isn’t a really juicy cherry though. That sweet edge is taken off by iris (calm down, Prada) and very subtle rose. I’m surprised how quiet this rose is. It makes the whole thing radiant and fizzy. As this one wears, the cherry becomes more and more prominent, yet it doesn’t become stronger with wear. It’s such a cute, innocent fragrance, very light and sweet near the end of its wear.
