I very much like this pine-and-incense scent. A funny thing: the sales assistant told me this was meant to suggest the coolness of an old stone church in a pine glade – the smell of old stone and trace of incense hanging in the still air. I felt I could smell exactly that. Well, maybe I’m suggestible, but the funny thing is that I asked my partner (who hadn’t heard the patter) what it made him think of and right away he said “an old church”.
There isn’t much development it’s true; the pine fades down and a slightly powdery, sweet resinous base is left. But for me this really works as a cool, fresh Summer incense perfume.

Pine deodorizer sans headache. C-12 mna is at the wheel (IFRA needs to ban this stuff to keep it from being so widely abused) so incense comes to mind, but it’s nestled among other coniferous items and perhaps a few florals to take edge off. The edge is slapped right back on, however, through the cautious use of an Aldron-like skin musk — a note people are often anosmic too. I doubt there are more than ten components in this; bleach has more exciting development.
