This is another traditional Italian style cologne and is herbal/aromatic in the same way as the great Italian colognes are. It therefore leans very masculine as well. It’s like a more refined version of Pino Silvestre without the pine note, possibly due to the heavy thyme note in both (which I actually like). This just straight up smells better than Pino Silvester however due to the (to my nose) added notes of what I think are vetiver (in the spirit of Italian Malimia Uomo Vetyver) and bay leaf, along with rosemary and clary sage. The name erbolario means herb-gatherer and this is very apt for this fragrance, which is a herbal Mediterranean concoction. L’Erbolario is an Italian brand that makes natural smelling colognes and body products, similar to L’Occitane en Provence. It smells like I’m standing on the Mediterranean coast smelling herbs growing wildly. You will like this if you like masculine, slightly spicy herbal colognes without any sweetness. Sillage is moderate while longevity is moderate leaning strong. Overall it’s a pretty fantastic Italian herbal cologne, the bottle is designed nicely with a good sprayer, and the sailboat box art is pretty amazing.

P.S. Don’t be fooled by the sailboat art. This is a green herbal fragrance, and not aquatic at all.

good perfume, very herbal, balsamic, is e beautiful cocktail of wood herbs, maybe a walk into the woods.
is another beautiful creation from l’erbolario, one of the king of cheap but good quality perfumes.
i think this is better in spring, summer and autumn, not bad in winter but there is no sweetness here.
the mix of green herbs is really pleasant, the only downside is that when i sniff pine this remind me at sopmething little bit old (80’s), but in this periplo is light and pleasant so not bad.
i see someone 30+ wearing this.

maybe if it was a chanel (i think this perfume has a “chanellity”) it was much more famous and considered.

Smells exactly like Super Cedar of Byredo. Sweet aromatic pencil.

The first blast is very herbal and masculine. Later, it loses that sharpness and turns into a scent that could (with an open mind) be described as unisex. There is no sweetness even then though – I smell thyme, a tiny bit of citrus, and oud (which must be the sandalwood). I would love to smell this on a man, but probably wouldn’t wear it often myself.

Take fistfuls of hand picked herbs and throw them into your dying campfire at dawn. The wind born in the tumult of the ocean blowing through the calm forest. Reminds me of Big Sur.
I keep being drawn in by that sailboat illustration. I can’t throw the packaging away. It’s so beautiful.

At first, this pierced my nose a bit. Sillage is moderate/strong for the first couple of hours. However, it smells great… I detect a little citrus in the opening, but then it’s mostly white thyme, and beautiful aromatic herbs. I even smell pine sap at some point in the heart of this fragrance. Resinous, fresh, very aromatic and natural smelling.

I love this perfume. It reminds me of an evening spent very close to the sea, when the sky is turning from light blue to darker, and one can’t distinguish the separation line between sky and sea. The waves are soft, but there is a gentle brees that makes the leaves move and the vegetation spreads into the air this scent.
I feel the rosemary, the thyme, the pine after some minutes I had sprayed it.
Its freshness is given by the head notes of green tangerine, bergamot, sweet orange and lemon.
Its Mediterranean personality is given by the heart notes of basil, rosemary, sagebrush, thyme, myrtle, lavender and pine.
The persistence is given by cannelier leaves, coriander, nutmeg, palm rose, jasmine, sandal, Virginia’s cedar, oak’s musk.
On my skin the perfume lasts about 2 hrs. Then nobody can feel it, nor I, unless I massage with the hand the neck or the wrists (where I put the perfume) and smell them.
    The sillage is moderate.
When I smell it, I am transported into the magic Mediterranean scrub. (I live in the north of Italy).
