Description
Sun, finally. A breath of wind. The soul smiles.
head: it begins with a fresh liveliness of exotic fruits. Tangerine, neroli, davana, mango leaves.
heart: a new interpretation of white flowers. Peony, iris, mango.
base: rounded off through the depth of kashmir wood, vetiver, musk.
A longing in this instance became a career. Patricia Choux was already dreaming of creating perfume while still in her childhood, and with her admission to the renowned ISIPCA (Institut supérieur international du parfum, de la cosmétique et de l’aromatique alimentaire) school for perfumers in Paris she achieved the crucial step towards fulfilling her dream.
Her training in Paris was followed by years of practice with Symrise in Holzminden, Germany’s largest fragrance company, and further assignments as a perfumer in London, Paris and New York, where she has been living and working since 2005.
Her style is bold, crazy, chic. Her creations are determined by impressions gleaned during her travels: landscapes, colors, smells and cultures become the essences of her fragrances, combining into fresh, exciting compositions. She experiments as much with the exotic as with the endless facets of the scent of jasmine, her favorite blossom.
For Thorsten Biehl, Patricia Choux has created two perfumes in the biehl. parfumkunstwerke gallery: sunny, airy pc01, and vibrant, cheerful pc02. pc01 was launched in 2007.

This is my favorite perfume.
I don’t like typical feminine fragrances: sweet, floral etc. This is just the right combination of fresh and herbal with just a hint of flowers.
It tells a story. It smells like freshly cut grass after a rain when the sun comes out and the air warms up. If you have ever experienced that smell in real life, you know it is complex: there is grass, there are cut wildflowers, there are maybe some grains caught up in that. It all ferments after being cut and bundled together, and the smells blend and magnify. This is what pc01 is like (although there is nothing fermented about this; rest assure it is all fresh).
To me, this is a day smell as it does not have enough seduction for evening wear. I do wear it in the evening, of course, but I also like layering it with something more pronounced. It smells classy and expensive.
I don’t really get mango — maybe green mango. To me, it does smell like the fields of Europe, with no ‘foreign’ smells to that; maybe that is why my brain does not process potential mango in there.
No one will ever accuse you of wearing ‘too much’ perfume if you wear pc01 as it seems so light and airy.
Insofar as it being positioned at unisex, sure, men can wear this. I am thinking of either fairly young men, or men that are not in possession of obvious, stereotypical, hirsute-chest-and-weathered-skin masculinity. I cannot see, say, Antonio Banderas or Sean Connery wear this — but Daniel Craig or Chris Evans, sure.

There’s a nice hit of green-citrus notes and peach in the first minute, and then it all morphs into a very clear mango/peony note. That’s pretty much how it stays for several hours, growing looser, a little woodier, and muskier with time. The beautiful thing about pc01 is how rich its mango note is. On one level it’s just mango, but time and patience reveals the attention to detail put into that mango. Any single freshly-sliced fruit has a variety of notes, often conflicting notes, from juicy-sweet, to dry-papery, to spicy-green – and the example I’m using is peach! Most people think of peach as just being cool and sweet. Study its aroma, and you’ll find all those subtle interplays of olfactory textures, a tension between bright and sweet and a sort of grey, papery, fibrous aroma. This is all captured perfectly in pc01, with the qualities apparent in both the brief peach top note, and the core structural mango note. This fragrance reminds me a little of Keiko Mecheri’s terrible Grenats (the angelica note, no doubt), only here the fresh-fruit idea is done right.

The opening is a fresh blast of citrus and flowers…synthetic ones I have to say, like perfumed plastic flowers.
Then I can smell the mango, not the sweet type, more like a ‘sugar free’ mango infused water.
Even though I’m not a fan of sweet fragrances, I was hoping for some sweet note to kick up this scent!
After a couple of minutes the artificial smell settles down, and I get more of a green scent, while the fruit notes stay way back.
PC01 feels clean and fresh, very close to skin, I don’t dislike it, but for sure I don’t go crazy over it.
PS: I was reading a couple of reviews, and I have the feeling that some of them are reviewing the notes without smelling the actual perfume…as if they are reciting something from memory without much knowledge. Maybe I’m wrong, just keep that in mind.

Oh this is good-I picture a plate of sliced cucumber and honeydew with a touch of green (like basil) tucked in between the slices:very natural smelling, fresh and yummy.I have quite enjoyed my sample.

“Sun, finally. A breath of wind. The soul smiles.” This is it ;o))) Absolutely love fresh mango in it, surrounded by flowers, so careless, like a laugh… ;o)

This a lovely fragrance that initially seems to be a white floral, but you quickly realize there is a lot more to this fragrance- it is so perfectly balanced that you know there is something amazing in it but you are not hit over the head with a giant too sweet fruit note. The fruits and green flavors do not overpower. The mango scent is so beautiful. At first you smell green mango but as the scent develops on your skin you smell ripe mango. But the fruit is still light and does not overwhelm the other notes. The drydown has a lovely musk and I love the soft Kashmir wood, amazing note to tie it all together and give the scent legs to stand on.
Iris is my favorite flower and peony is a close second. Neroli plays very well with these two and is the perfect floral scent to mix with the mango. A perfectly blended symphony of scent. Even though this is a fairly light scent it has good staying power with the musk. And contrary to esteban 747’s comments, I do smell all the notes about which I am speaking.
Excellent, top quality ingredients; this fragrance is well worth its price and I see a full bottle in my future. This would be the perfect summer fragrance but would work anytime of year. It is just heavenly.

Honeydew melon! So refreshing and juicy! Summer! Salivary glands kind of tingle! I put it away for now, and when it comes back out of my cupboard next summer I’m sure I’ll drool with delight again.

I was looking forward to trying this sample, for I usually don’t like flowers and am not one for ‘chilled’ but I *love* Patricia Choux 02… Well, I am not disappointed! I would describe this as the inviting smell of chilled melon tea – but in a complex, multidimensional way. I can imagine this worn by great statesladies and it would not be out of place. I can’t see it worn by men, though. Or it would have to be a special breed of men that frequent teahouses?

This is my new favourite! I love the flowery, powdery scent and it s like nothing else I ve smelled before. I smell the mango and neroli, then the lovely iris and peony and in the drydown I smell the beach and sea plus a woody scent that I cannot name…to me it simply felt great. On my pulse it lasted for 6 hours..and thereafter I could only detect it on my clothes.. also it s very expensive it smells the same way too. GREAT design

I find this to be a quite pulpy, zesty citrus, you definitely smell the orangey/mango/green top notes, the florals creep in gently, and it ultimately dries down to a soft woody scent. i didn’t find the lasting power to be that great but it doesn’t bother me in this case, because I dont like it enough to buy a FB. the citrus is just too zesty for me. This is marketed as unisex, which i guess it could be but I think women would prefer it.
