Retro in a very good and not clichéd way.
Having arrived at the party well late for this one, I’ve never smelt the “original” Original Musk… or so I thought before a blind buy, I was open & excited to learn what all the fuss is about.
Reformulation or no, this is genuinely reminiscent of something I surely had my nose buried in as a child – embracing sundry elders. KOM has that quintessential “came of age in the 1960’s or before” barber shoppe soapy-fresh, subtly waxy-floral, (No. 5-ish even?) standard issue, suit & tie/Sunday-in-July best feel about it.
I don’t get any of the “skanky” “fecal” “clean-sweaty” supposed nuances that detractors seem to always mention – but again I only know the latest production and all I can smell is wholesome, yesteryear goodness. Nothing exotic, daring, or, as the supposed inspirational “Love Potion” storyline might imply, sexy. I get “fresh from the shower” and then, surprisingly enough, the rose in this is quite prominent to me – I don’t believe I’ve read anyone mentioning that facet.
My own mother wore Youth Dew – as so many of her generation did (though she has often declared that No. 5 is “foul”, and she’s never worn it, though I suspect there is more to this story than she divulges) – for evenings out, which I have fond and subsequently “fancy” – mum is all dressed up! – memories of. I mention this as KOM feels like something she would have worn for daytimes or Sunday mornings. I believe, many years later, she often layered ET White Diamonds EDT (lily, ylang, neroli, patch, & musk) with Tea Rose – or more often than not wore Tea Rose alone for less formal settings. As it happens, of late, or I should say the past decade, BULGARI Rose Essentielle has been her favourite… which, as it turns out, is a Rosy-Musk-Mimosa (instead of the Ylang of KOM).
Sorry. Why am I prattling on about my mother’s fragrances? Only I am drawing a line in this moment – KOM on my arms – from her favourites, a heritage of wonderful scents which some find “old” & “musty” now, to this… which I imagine she’d appreciate, if not like very much. (In fact, there’s even something in this that reminds me of my father, suited & shoes polished. But as far as I know he used only Old Spice… or sometimes Brut… so I cannot account for that, save for the barber shoppe affect. Having said that, and upon further investigation, Brut does have ylang, musk, coumarin, & patch… so…)
In the 21st century this is definitely unisex. Had you recommended this to me as a teen I would have balked at wearing a “female” scent, the concept of male & female in fragrance still being so clearly delineated in that time. But isn’t it funny? I’d wear Youth Dew now too – it smells far more appropriate or “masculine” than much of what is marketed to men these days! (not to mention just plain good). But KOM is reminiscent to me of a lot of what mature, “respectable” middle-class ladies smelt of when they were being wives & mothers. A nice, responsible smell. A steady, dependable smell.
I prefer a strong scent, labeled “homme” or “femme” – I enjoy feeling like I am wearing perfume, not dryer sheets or air freshener. KOM, although not something I’d wear for a night out (fancy or not), is definitely one for smart-casual, Sunday mornings in ordinary time, and standard, put together, well groomed modest sophistication.
All in my humble opinion, mind you. Forgive the rather long winded ramble.
Suffices to say, I like it. I like it a lot, this 2018 bottle I’ve got.
Interestingly, I asked the opinion of two Millennials of this: neither was revulsed but equally neither was impressed, and merely (politely?) commented that it smells “mature”.
Again, I don’t know the “original”, but I’d say you can’t go wrong with this if you want to smell like an adult.
    ★★★☆☆

I love almost all musk scents. But I dislike this one very much . It smells foul and not even musky . The Kiehl’s counter lady told me ( at a local dept. store ) that it does not sell well . I thought it would be a hippie scent . It seems like a cheap old perfume from Woolworth’s when I was a little girl .

    Opens with a Urine smell
    Mid becomes soft and floral
Dry down, Florals fade into a fairly natural smelling Musky smell
Overall it’s not bad, it’s not worth the price tag imo but it’s a decent frag that has multiple tiers which can be challenging at times but only for short periods of time.
The opening although smelling like a old dried up Urinal fades into soft Floral with background hints of musk fairly quickly about 10-15 minutes tops.
The dry down can for sure smell a bit like shaving cream as well (saw some other reviews say this).
Overall this is a fairly natural scent on skin and becomes a clean scent in time although it does start off challenging it blooms into a likable smell
Price is really the biggest problem i have with this, i don’t personally think it’s worth 43 bucks for a 1.7 oz
Scent: 6.5 / 10, it’s almost something that you wear as a anti-fragrance (even though it does have a smell)
Price : 4/10 this is the biggest knock imo
Longevity / Sillage : it gets Average – Above Average marks in both for me, about 5-6 hours and around 1 ft of pojection / sillage but can sit close to skin.
Compliments: Haven’t gotten any, I don’t think this is quite good enough to get many compliments but i don’t think it’ll get negative reactions either. It’s not cloying really so thats really cool
Bonus: Can be used to Layer other fragrances with it similar to Molecule 01

Wearing Caron’s Yatagan today on the crispest of west coast October days, layered with a few dabs of Kiehl’s Original Musk EDT (a terrific, oily-smelling reference musk)…
Can I just say that, after some initial cognitive dissonance in the topnotes, this has settled into one of the most successful layering experiments I’ve ever experienced?
The Kiehl’s is urinous, slightly floral, scalpy and musky in the best possible way.
For me, it emboldens to the castoreum accord in Yatagan, adds depth to its musks, and contributes just a touch of fleshy sweetness that I sometimes feel is missing in the bitterness of Yatagan, softening its uncompromising profile without taking away from its vintage character.
Pure joy, as expressed in the language of pheromones.

This is a firm favorite. It’s so incredibly comforting to wear for me – the olfactory equivalent of listening to Fleetwood Mac or watching The Big Lebowski. It’s a bit floral at first and then moves to a dirty/clean musk (more clean than dirty; my husband agrees). I do wish it lingered a bit longer, though the shower gel and lotion are great layering pieces. It gets a little off in hot, humid weather, but is great when it’s cool or in an air conditioned environment.

Beautiful animalic musk, especially so in the beginning. As it settles in, I can sense more of the soapiness, which I actually like. Tried this out in 30C with high humidity and did not find it too much or unbearable. However I still would imagine myself wearing this in the cooler days. Comforting and feels like it just blends into my skin.

Just spritzed a tester of this in a Kiehl’s boutique, extremely feminine, a strong urinal note to my nose, mixed in with synthetic florals. Not something I’d ever choose to wear.

  8. :

Tested this today and to me it had a very noticeable fecal quality amongst the floral notes. Not something you’d want to smell like once you recognise it.

Fantastic fragrance. Truly the original forumla of musk. Think of jovan musk more masculine, more refined and higher quality
Simple and well balanced animalic/clean white musk. Initial phase is not pleasant but after 15 minutes it becomes so clean, soapy and sophisticated Strictly to be applied on skin not clothes.
Longevity could’ve been better but acceptable.

This is one of my all time favorite fragrances smells like shaving cream after about 10 minutes when the florals fade into the musk

I bought recently 2 very old, very classic fragrances. For my collection. Mind you, not for regular consumption. But for My Collection of Classic Masterpieces.
It doesn’t matter if I like them on me, or not.
Knize Ten and Kiehl’s Original Musk. Both from the early 1920’s.
Knize Ten is leathery from the start. It’s great.
I will probably buy the Golden Edition later.
Kiehl’s Original Musk takes a while before the cat piss settles. But than it will get better by the hour.
Both are too hot for Summer, so I have not worn them yet.
Although I’m sure Original Musk can by worn in Spring and Summer nights, if not too hot.
Anyway, if you are a fragrance lover, these 2 are must haves.

This review is for the EdT: I generally like to use reviews to try to dissect the play of notes in a composition, but have held back from writing about this since purchasing it last month because something about it resists that kind of analysis… I feel more inclined to write around it than to try to write though it, if that makes any sense.
So, tracing a silhouette then: I smelled it on my shirt and it was almost skanky, a touch of animal urine (though not unpleasantly so — musk fans may know what I mean here?) Meanwhile, a shirt pulled fresh out of the laundry still bore a strong impression of musk that smelled deliciously like a head of clean hair. It occurs to me that ‘Original Musk’ is very much a reference musk: at times soapy, at times animalic, a little floral and a touch oriental. There were times when it seemed to project with an expansively floating sillage, and other times when it seemed to fade into my skin, only to reappear later as a soft haze around the collar of a shirt or the lining of a jacket. These shape-shifting qualities are to me characteristic, even definitive, of a good musk which should, above all, feel like an extension of the body. This recalls the 1970’s of my childhood, but is also timeless, rich and memorable. I’d love to try layering this with a leathery fragrance like Antaeus or Kouros to see if it would further coax out the vulnerable humanism that makes those fragrances great…
Companionable, reassuring and well-constructed, this is a great addition to anyone’s collection, or, paradoxically, a great fragrance for those who don’t care to wear perfume..

I’ve given this two tries for hours at a time and I just don’t like this one. It’s not a straightforward musk and it isn’t a clean, stripped one either.
Sometimes I like skanky and animalic, but this was on the bad side of animalic and indolic for me. I could not wait to get home and wash it off.

When i first tried this a few days ago, my initial thought was – “Do I know this one already?”. Then it hit me – Its “Shalimar”. The opening is so close to “Shalimar” that I almost felt cheated. I just blind bought a new musk ( I adore musk) and what I get is “Shalimar” wich I have – and love, I might add. The animalic and somewhat indolic opening of “Shalimar” is identical to “Kiehls original musk”
Well, after a while i sniffed again and this time another stable of my collection came into mind – “Tabu” by Dana.
To me this is a softer version of first “Shalimar” then “Tabu” and it IS a very good musk – but somehow I already know it because I have the afore mentioned.
So there you have it – a two-in-one perfume – and dont get me wrong I love it. But I was prepared for something I didnt know and was going to appreciate.
Longevity is better than expected (6-12h) and since I looove the powerhouse perfume of the 70’ties and 80’ties, I.m not dissapointed with that. Sillage is okay – something this animalic and indolic should be kept close to yourself. Not everybody enjoys the smell of wild beasts.

Too late here and I’m tired, so I’ll just say this: one spray and it was such a strong scent, nothing that I particularly care for (still I knew I was gonna buy it anyways since I was trying to find this frag for more than a year), my wife loved it. Just a few minutes later that intensity sank to skin level and all I could smell was WHITE MUSK. It died one or two hours later. It’s a unisex fragrance but it smells more feminine in my opinion.

Tried it today. Very dirty, sour citrus in the top. Reminds me of Zino by Davidoff or Boucheron Pour Homme. Animalic too. No doubt about it. Like 3e Homme de Caron.
My wife and daughter liked it from the start.
I had my doubts, since that part is really old fashioned. But gradually it got better for me.
Now, 5 hours + later the musk is surrounded by a nice soapy cushion. I am a fan of Soapy fragrances, so it is a must have for me.

Being a cult classic and with so many positive reviews, I really wanted to like this one….but it was terrible on me. I had to wash it off immediately…and even then, it still left a musky trace. It smells similar to something my grandmother wore. It definitely belongs with the scents of that generation. Maybe it was just me, but I got somewhat of a L’air du Temps vibe from it.

  18. :

Smells like soap? I know that all soaps don’t smell the same, but if there were a scent dictionary, this is what I would expect to find under the entry for “Soap.” Would be perfect for someone who sniffs their hands deeply after washing them and thinks “Man, I wish I could smell this all day.” It sounds like this used to be muskier–I’m sad I missed out on the original formulation since I’m guessing I would have liked it more.

  19. :

One of my favourite musks. The reformulated one doesn’t give me a headache. The perfume oil is smoother but lighter (this used to be very deep and richer about 10 yrs ago in the shorter dab on glass bottle) in the slim rollerball bottle.
Very earthy smelling musk which is not one to blind buy. It’s like a marmite fragrance (you either love or hate).
I think the longevity has reduced significantly or that im anosmic to it now that ive been smelling this throughout the day. Will need to re-sniff as i wonder whether its the reformulation that is causing it.

Fantastic musk with an evolution. At times soapy, animalic, sweet, and rustic.

  21. :

If you like modern Arpege by Lanvin (black egg-like bottle with gold cap) you will like this musk. Pretty much the same openings. Not safe blind buy until you are a musk lover. Can give you cat pee vibe from time to time. Overall I like it but because I already have a new version of Arpege I won’t buy original musk.

Bad, like anything else Kiehl’s produces. This brand survives solely on branding and design.

  23. :

    3 out of 5

I’m afraid this has been changed. I have a sample from about a year ago and it’s not really like the bottle I have now. It’s much cleaner and most of the animalic edge is gone. I can also smell some more prominent florals… very upsetting. I hope I’m wrong, but buyers should be cautious if you’re expecting the masculine, interesting musk this is usually billed as.

  24. :

A friend of mine absolutely loves this fragrance and it is actually stunning on her. She always gets compliments. It smells very clean and soft, like a fluffy woolen sweater you’d love to cuddle in.
Yet on me it smells animalic and dirty. I don’t feel comfortable wearing it notwithstanding the fact that my kid told me: “You smell like bum pee!” Of course I scolded him because it’s very unrespectful to the homeless and also to his mum. Kids are too genuine and must be educated. There is a famous French quote which says: “La vérité sort de la bouche des enfants” (The Truth comes out of children’s mouths), meaning children are too pure to lie. I don’t know any equivalent in English.
Anyway, I recommend you try this fragrance on your chemistry before buying it!

God I love this fragrance , so glad I found it because it is my scent that I have been looking for , wondering what it was since I smelled it in the air as a young boy

  26. :

This is like a classic 80’s powerhouse without the steroids.
A pretty clean yet deep, creamy musk which will supply a nose-gasm without too much effort.
Comparisons to Kouros are somewhat valid but this is way, way better than the current formulation of Kouros. And more wearable.
Feels more like an Eau de Parfum concentration in the way that it doesn’t project too much but lasts and lasts.

  27. :

Good grief. I wrote an earlier review down below for the original musk, and not the reformulation. I am mourning the loss of a wonderful spicy musk. The reformulation has managed to do what most reformulations do; guarantee a soon defunct product. The character has been removed, and those of you who were disappointed should be. There is nothing notable about what has happened to this. It isn’t as good as Auric Blends, or some of the much cheaper hippie oils. If you can find a bottle of the original stuff, do give it a go. Otherwise, don’t bother.

  28. :

In a way this reminds me of Jovan Musk but Kiehl’s is deeper, more complex, a tad earthier. Smells way more expensive then it is. Very glad I received a sample before purchasing as it made me want it even more! I only gave a little spray to my wrist but I can tell you will get pretty decent silage from this, here’s hoping for great longevity. Kiehl’s just became my favorite musk ever.

  29. :

I really like it. The projection is very close to the skin. To me, it smells powdery and soapy with a touch of sawdust. I don’t smell any of the other notes listed here.
Sounds like a criticism but it’s not. Sometimes you want to go with subtle. It would probably be very good for the office.

99% of your reviews here are positive, you all seem to love this love potion so I was really happy to be given KM for Christmas. In an experimental attitude, I was curious to find out if a clean citrus lover could manage to turn into a musk wearer. Unfortunately, after three weeks of trying to use it, I must admit that I don’t know what to do with this one. I waited in vain for the orange blossom to bloom on my skin but all I get is a (sorry) disturbing bouquet of pissed sidewalk. I’d never dare to wear in the outside world and can’t even use it as a stay at home frag. So, at the moment I must call the whole thing off and say that it’s just not for me. (Julianne Moore, would you like to swap?).

I have always loved this musk since I first smelt this in the 80’s and I have to say it is a touch cleaner than it used to be. But nonetheless it’s still an excellent musk that I adore. I’m a musk lover so I really like looking for different musk perfumes and oils to try. Keihls oil has always been in my top 3 musk scents. There is something about it that I just love. It’s hard to pinpoint what note it is because it’s not the notes in this it’s a feeling it provokes. It’s just this ahhh it smells so good comfort type thing. This was a love at first sniff for me. I prefer the oil in the bottle not the roll on. I just dab this on my pulse points and a little down my clothes and it lasts all day on me. Sillage depends on how much I wear and the weather.
This truly is a classic musk in my book that’s not super expensive but of awesome quality. I will always have a vial on this on hand. I love it during all seasons because I adore musk as I said before. I like how heat projects this. So for me I just enjoy this whenever. I also use the lotion and body wash and they’re excellent. Love!

Some days this smells like sweet oranges and sex, and those are the days I love it. But every once in a while it smells like my cat’s butthole. I don’t go around sniffing my cat’s butt or anything. She sometimes sticks her butt in my face when I’m in bed, and I’ll think, “that smells gross but strangely similar to something other than her butt.” I used to have such good memories of this perfume (my sister-in-law used to wear it and she always smelled so good!) but my cat may have ruined this perfume for me.

  33. :

You are correct RB2002- It does smell soapier than before, and it is not the deep musky cologne it once was. It is still very pleasing, but for a deeper musk, you might need the Kublai Khan or something. As you said, this Kiehl’s now seems more like a white musk scent, akin to a fabric softener. I still bought it, because, in spite of the fabric softener effect, it has a difficult to describe, slightly sexy smell as well.

Has anyone tried this recently? I tried the oil the other day, and it wasn’t at all like I recall it smelling in the past. The sales person said its been updated to not be as “musky”. It smells floral and soapy. It doesn’t really smell like musk to me, unless we’re heading into clean/ Egyptian/ white musk territory (although it’s not quite like any of those, but still floral and soapy). Not a bad scent, just not at all how I recall it smelling before; it’s not old school musky anymore 🙁

Musky – warm floral – woody
    Color impression: cantaloupe orange
Kiehl’s Original Musk gives me that awkwardly lovesome feeling of finding something I have been looking for hundred years. Innovation in perfumery is over, new stuff has no identity, no personality to assimilate and fully take up. Original Musk is an old-habit musky fragrance with oriental floral facets in top. Rounded, refined, quintessential, and the very definition of good smell. It opens with bulky amount of ylang ylang and neroli, baptized with sheer dirty musk which, later in dry down, evokes deep sensations! This is my skin deserves. Furthermore, it’s one of the most strong-charactered fragrances to take as signature scent and to be addicted to.
    ★★★★

I get lots of compliments when I wear this. The oil opens a bit differently from the spray cologne, but I am not saavy enough to describe just how. I get better coverage with the spray cologne. This is a heady musk, but I would not describe it as “dirty”. It is quite lovely and the opening orange blossom is my favorite part of the development. It projects at arm’s length and is great on both men and women. Lasts a work day, so six hours? This was a super lucky blind buy at TJ Max proving that it is possible to buy yummy stuff that doesn’t cost a fortune. If you love musk, you’ve got to try this.
These comments are about the original formulation (1) and not the reformulated version now found in the stores.

This could be either loving or hating fragrance for some people – I like the smell of floral/musk, but some people told me that it reminded them of “granny’s wardrobes” (huh?).
The longevity and the silage are OK – I sprayed this on my lower body (waist area) and it projected nicely but avoided on my wrists nor upper body – it was too close to my nose to enjoy the smell.

It pairs really really well with citrus fragrances such as Citron Vert Malin+Goetz, Eau Universelle L`Occitane and Bergamot Body Musk (NOT the regular Body Musk!) by Abdul Samad Al Qurashi. To me, it smells clean, sensual and kind of powdery musk, not dirty whatsoever! If you’re looking for a dirty musk, try Deer musk by Abdul Samad Al Qurashi. That one is unbelievably dirty.

I’d been meaning to try this for a long while, as I’m an avid fan of musk. I found myself with an hour to spare at an airport, and availed myself to a dainty spritz of this at the Duty Free store.
I instantly recognized that scent. Unmistakable…though it took me several minutes of deep thought while intermittently sniffing the back of my hand to land on what exactly this fragrance was recalling.
    Then it hit me.
About ten years ago, in my hometown, I passed by a homeless man who had approximately nine or ten cats in and around his shopping cart. I can not resist petting a cat, and with each additional creature, my will grows weaker.
But oh, it was a mistake. The fur of the cats was heavily matted with potent, dirty musk, and a good dose of that uniquely pungent feline urine.
And that is what the renowned, revered Kiehl’s Original Musk smells like to me–such an exact match that it dredged that decade-old memory from the bowels of my brain to howl in my ear: wash your hands immediately.

I tried this musk many times and disliked it – too skanky and somewhat old fashioned I thought – tried it again yesterday – wow wow wow – now I understand it – it sinks into my skin beautifully – woke up still catching wafts of it – oh kiehl’s – you rejected me in my 40 s but embrace me in my 50 s – it’s a love thing – my signature has been found ( and with a wee drop of sjp stash it becomes ready for going out )

So apparently I’m anosmic to musk here. This just smells like very soft, dusty florals. I wish I could smell more of it, it sounds great!

  42. :

    4 out of 5

I hate when fragrances have a musk base or slowly fade to musk over time, but I love when musk is the singular note and point of the thing and this is straight-to-the-point musk. I know this fragrance is supposed to have other notes besides musk, but I feel nose-blind to them as musk is the only thing I get, this is super clean and fresh musk and truthfully, the only fragrance I’ve ever consistently gotten compliments on and really the only fragrance strangers have ever stopped to ask me about. The relatively cheap price point make this a staple-worthy safe bet.

  43. :

This is another love for me. It straddles the line between clean and dirty musk and is more interesting for it. I do think it tends more toward the clean side, and it just smells great. Completely unisex and wearable. I think this one is a must have.

  44. :

    5 out of 5

Thee most pleasant musk I’ve ever tried. It’s citrusy, floral, clean and animalic. On me, the florals are very pronounced which I enjoy. There’s something addictive about this scent, and I can’t seem to get enough. Solid performance and price. 8/10

  45. :

    3 out of 5

i love how oily and animalic this gets with the thick, old school musk and sweet ylang ylang+florals behind it. A much more interesting counterpoint to the mild narciso-style musks, has a nice heft and weight to it but it never gets heavy or cloying. Wish it were a bit more loud but maybe its restraint is more of a blessing than a downside.

  46. :

    3 out of 5

When you first apply it smells very close to Argan Oil. As it dies down it starts to smell closer to patchouli and white florals.
The perfomance is surpisingly good for me. I get 8+ hours and the dry down smells very woody, which I prefer. The dry down reminds me of Boss Bottled in many ways, specifically the woody vanilla notes.

  47. :

I tested it once at the store and all I got was Chanel N°5 minus the aldehydes and a lessser dose of ylang ylang…
That’s it! From start to finish, no any type of musk appeared on me… Well…maybe there’s the ever so tiniest hint of musk on the very dry down??? But really it just basically smells very similar to N°5. BUT! I really like it any way! because I do appreciate N°5, and in fact I really want to have this fragrance.
I really wanted to smell the oil version since I can’t find it in the store, and im hoping it would be at least more musky

When I was around 9 years old, I found a tiny glass vial of musk that somebody had given my mother and she’d forgotten about – it smelled so good! I’d hoped that this would be Kiehl’s, but it’s most definitely not.
I have the spray, and it’s definitely a women’s fragrance. It’s WAY to flowery. Why add that to a Musk? The whole idea behind a musk is that it’s supposed to be deep, entrancing, and sensual – then to dump cheap flowery scents on top of that just makes no sense whatsoever.
In any case, what I think what I probably smelled when I was a kid was either nitro-musk or maybe even real animal musk, and it added an entire dimension to the musky smell. It drew you in & was quite hypnotic.
The musk in Kieh’s only superficially resembles that: maybe like comparing the flavor of grape bubble-yum to a real grape. So perhaps this is a musk for people who have never smelled real musk.

Based on the mixed reviews and some reviewers noting a urine stench, I was really scared to try Original Musk. However, knowing that it is the go-to scent of Julianne Moore and Charlize Theron, both women whose style I admire, I was thinking there is no way I can go wrong. (Plus, come on, Charlize can probably get boatloads of gratis J’adore as the spokesmodel, and she picks something as simple as Kiehl’s?)
I had sprayed these a couple of times in the store, and also sniffed the nozzles of the bottles separately, and did get an animalic, urine tone, but today I decided to spray on the skin.
I only sprayed once on my wrist, and I instantly now get its appeal. OM on me is a very clean, almost soapy smell. Sort of smells like white floral soap with a musky undertone… very classic and simple, and quite nice. I don’t think it would go well in dressy settings, but for weekends or low-key every day, OM is a good pick.
It seems to have good longevity, and, as others have noted, 1-2 sprays is sufficient. I will definitely be purchasing a full bottle to have in my wardrobe.

I am so happy I got this. Animalistic without the complications and storytelling of Bal a Versailles, this is straightforward, sexy and warm. This reminds me of Chanel 5, except better, cleaner and more refined. It’s got that classic sense of style to it, but it’s not dusty. The flowers come through to give it a youthful grin. 8/10

This juice has quality. Besides, longevity and projection is great, but this thing smells like a 70 years old man. I dont believe, somebody who is his 20-40’s would wear this.

A huge musky butterfly right in the stomach.
I loved The Body Shops – white musk in the early ’00s, and this kind of is that Times’ five.
Stays long on clothes & body. A little goes the whole yard. A dirty, sticky & sweet cloud that is hard to hate, with that said, this is not for everyone. Imagening this in the hands of a teen who sprayes perfume like rain, is horrifying and something i hope to never see or smell.
A must for a heavy musker.

Obsessed with this and always will be. The fragrance that kicked off my lifetime love/lust affair with musks and animalics. For years this was the only fragrance I owned and the only one I ever cared to own. Simple, sexy, if I were to ever have a signature scent, it would be this and Egyptian Musk oil. It sparked my intense love of NR For Her, a fragrance I truly adore and would make my new signature, if I were to have one (which I have tried and cannot, for I am terribly flighty when it comes to perfume monogomy).
No real projection, stays close to the skin but is so intimate, so beautifully unisex and human, and lasts on clothes for days and days. I completely understand why this was known as a love potion in the early days of the century, and I firmly believe its the one that kicked off the musk frenzy we are in today.

An utterly beautiful, naturally animalic and physical, warm and cosy musk with just the right amount of subtle white flowers to make this a true delight to wear particularly during the cooler months of the year; not too dirty, not too clean; pleasant sillage and excellent longevity 🙂

This has a little floral in the top that quickly fades. It is a musky civet yum. This is the way all musk wish they smelled. I love it but it is a skin scent. I wish it had more projection like Roja Enslaved. This would be fabulous to boost the musk in other scents.

A nice addition to my collection. You can add a bit of musk to another fragrance to add a musky base or wear on its own. Great for men or women. I have the oil and the spray. Seems to have decent staying power, the spray more so
