After a minute of freshness, a creamy ylang ylang and vanilla combo take the lead. There is a green element in the background that stays for a good while and makes the fragrance unisex, in my opinion. A nice jasmine is completing the flower bouquet and I think it has become rather sensual. The dry down is a vanilla leading creamy and flowery perfume and this part leans more feminine.

The first half hour I have the masculine atmosphere of a shaving foam mixed with a warm shirt just ironed.
I especially feel the cardamom at the beginning and cassis overbearing until the end. For my nose it’s tiring and very vintage. I like cassia and soapy perfumes, (Pierre de lune is one of my favorites) but despite this and a pleasant smell I can not stand it a short distance from my nose even when it reaches the bottom.
Medium duration, good sillage, good price.
For me, an unexpectedly unisex ylang ylang fragrance.
    … But overall it is a non-purchase.

Mmmm, Paisley is exactly what I was hoping it would be. Spicy, aromatic, warm and calming.
This is just what I needed at the of a very long, hard day. In truth, I have not disliked an Etro scent yet. This one, (like all of them) doesn’t smell chemically to me, nor is it overpowering, and the ingredients are high class. It does smell a little salty to me, I suppose that’s the ambergris, and I love that.
Also patchouli is my favorite note in perfume, and I really smell the patchouli and pepper here. So wonderful!

The first blast is a little sweet, but soon after come the strong spicy oriental notes. In my opinion pink pepper is the most dominant note. Also there is lots of ylang ylang(my least favorite flower). I don’t get any cardamon, but I can feel deep down the earthy notes which are quite pleasant to my nose, as I like patchouli.
I know Etro is known as a high quality house with lots of unique perfumes, but I can hardly see myself having any of the three ones I’ve tried so far for that price. Also, add the fact that all of them are extremely mild.

This is the stinking rich and composite scent. To bring near what I mean from: Lumiere Blanche Olf.Studio .Oriental sweet-citrus gentle. I sometimes feel a bit of lavender . Very the high quality of components. Beautiful on every time. Unisex.

Paisley smells the way a woman jogging past you might smell: fresh sweat and a bit of bath and body works vanilla fragrance mist. It’s a jumble of vague, off-smelling notes that together, end up depressingly sour and flat. I don’t get anything resembling the sparkling green summer floral that the pyramid suggests. Even the cardamom and pepper in this case seem to only add to the general sourness. To be fair, the clean ylang and jasmine are supported by a fairly pleasant albeit metallic green note which provides that sheer, dewy quality I was hoping for. (Too sheer though, perhaps, because it took me several tries before I could smell Paisley properly.) Underneath it all, a cheap vanilla hangs, stale and putrid, disconnected from the rest of the composition.
Maybe if the lime was more zesty, the florals richer if not bolder, and the vanilla non-existent or at least better balanced… What a disappointment because I usually enjoy Etro perfumes.

It’s a good offering, perhaps a bit low-key despite its spiciness.

Lovely scent that I like very much. Paisley opens almost like an amber scent with the ambergris, pink pepper and cardamom. It moves into more softness and green notes for a few minutes of almost a fougere feel. Then in the drydown the soft ylang and jasmine take over and mix with the spices for a soft yellow floral spicy comfort scent. There is not as much longevity as I would like. Paisley is a skin scent after 2 hours but it lasts longer if you spray your clothing. Unisex scent to my nose, especially in the first hour or so. Drydown is softer but this could be layered nicely with a spicier or “darker” fragrance very well.

Soft-spicy is a good description, or I would say “very soft-spicy”. Green, herby, aromatic, clean, to me this fragrance is pretty feminine, though I guess some men could pull this off…but at the moment as I am smelling the light, enchanting prettiness, I can’t quite imagine that. I find it comforting and somehow familiar (in a good way), but also very light (or as “spidola” says: transparent). Too light to my liking, I have to say, although I still enjoy it tremendously (just ordered 10ml of it!) and I guess it all depends where you want to wear this little unique creation. If you are going to wear it in bed, it’s probably perfectly sufficient, thought it may just not be “enough” (as in strong enough) for an evening out. Like “silviaci”, I can read jasmine, but to me it’s somehow “green jasmine” if that’s possible :-), and that’s lovely, really lovely!

Paisley is modern, minimal, soft, spicy perfume. The opening tended to be more feminine than masculine – I detected mostly ylang and jasmine, but it grew into beautiful spicy, absolutely unisex perfume, suitable for any time and any weather. It’s important to mention the most important characteristic of this scent – it’s transparency! Exactly like the design of its stunning bottle, it covers you like a lace or organza…beautiful!

Paisley is a very comforting ylang-ylang spicy fragrance. It makes me think of a soft fne cashmere blanket, blue with paisley print on it.
The ylang ylang note is prominent, but not in a Songes like manner: here it travels toward unisex, while you label Songes as a perfectly womanly scent. The other strong note comes from cardamom, which makes for a special aromatic effect to the whole.
I also smell jasmine and bergamot distinctly, but very interestingly mingled.
Great final effect, hands down a perfect creation for my nose.
    And the bottle…

I really like all Etro’s creations. They are so special. This one is very spicy and enjoyable. It really feels like an explosion of spicy notes. I don’t feel much of the flowers, I must say…Main notes for me are cardamom, pepper and patchouli.

Yes, very feminine, nice scent. I am not fluent at making reviews but in my opinion that’s something sweet, but not too sweet, I can smell vanilla but not as the strongest note. I like it 🙂
