Description
Oud possesses a great cultural significance because of its use in traditional incense and perfumes, and it is also mentioned in one of the world’s oldest written texts – the Sanskrit Vedas from India. When the once light Aquilaria tree heartwood becomes infected with a specific type of mold, it defends itself with a dark and fragrant protective resin. This now dark wood, oud or agarwood, holds a complex fragrance, resembling few or no other natural ingredients.
Oud Immortel is a chypre woody fragrance that merges patchouli and papyrus so the whole composition has a smoky character. Tobacco leaf and moss contribute to the depth and complexity of oud, while rosewood and incense cause the elegant silage on skin.
Its is available as Eau de Parfum in 50 ml and 100 ml bottles.
Oud Immortel was launched in 2010.

One of the best ouds that i know. This oud is very refined and polished and not sweet. Many oud fragrances are heavy, too warm, too sweet and sometimes overpowering. This oud is just done right, its not heavy, has the right amount of sweetness, is airy instead of cloying and sticky. Its …well..just right. A superbly blended, cozy, smooth, smoky and uplifting woodsy juice which is nearly a 4 season fragrance and its a remarkable thing for an oud. I absolutely love it.
kolachnikow – :
This reminds me of the fragrance that started my hobby of fragrances, “M-7 Fresh”; but this is even better, great quality notes. Its warmer and more earthy than M-7 Fresh. This is beyond words, just smells soooo good !
Oud Immortel, does not hide the Oud, and it does not dominate. This fragrance embellishes the oud, it makes me think of it as a great “woody” fragrance; with patch and rosewood. It has great piquant notes of papyrus, tobacco, and that lemony fantasy note. I heard it described as a lemon Liqueur, but it’s not boozy, which I like.
The patchouli was not so noticable at first. After a few days wearing this, I see the patch is a main player; Love it here. With the oakmoss, gives it a damp earthy vib.
This reminds me of Frederic Malle “Monsieur” which is patchouli and orange liqueur. This is so much nicer and more complex than “Monsieur”.
This smells like it does have an Immortelle note. It is a herb that smells like toasted bread, it’s a cozy smell, and it seems to be making a fragrance accord with the oud, making it very pleasant.
The slightly sweet limoncello, a creamy lemon note, and the toasted bread like immortelle note (unlisted) do give it a slight gourmand vib. I don’t like gourmands nor sweet frags, but they are fine here and balanced with the earthy/ woody aspects.
I did pick out the subtle smokiness. It’s not any sharp ashen incense, bt a very pleasant aromatic smoke, that’s allmost nutty, like roasting chesnuts
This is not just a bigginers oud, because the oud is medecinal and very noticable, but all the other notes are so we’ll blended to make an incredibly enjoyable, comfortable and wearable composition.
Most of the Byredos are over priced and lack luster…
This has a bit of oomph, very nicely blended, easy going Oud. The lemon pie gives it some freshness, without getting citrusy.
The papyrus and tobacco blend really nicely into a unique accord. It’s a great Fall fragrance.
I thought the oud, smelled like a good synthetic Oud, but after 15 minutes, all the notes really gel, and smell very natural, with good quality, and performance.
PS: This is growing on me, the rosewood is a beautiful base note. Excellent composition, supremely enjoyable, cozy Fall fragrance. It slightly leans masculine, good performance, not great.
I just remembered, this is very much like Acqua Di Parma Colonia Oud, a fresh take on oud.. But the quality is so much better here.
A great deal popped up on eBay, and I pulled the trigger.
I got a new 100 ml for $167.00, from a reputable seller. Seller still has 9 more, 10/3/18.
Byredos are over priced, but you can get good deals, keep checking ..

Not q fan of byredo but this one smells really nice in colder evenings to ,e the strongest note is dry wood
Andrey88 – :
One of my favorites from Byredo, and one of the best Oud fragrances that comes without a rose note. The oud here is slightly medicinal but still very natural. I pick up the sweet and creamy Limoncello essence during the first hour only. The second phase turns dryer on me, a bit spicy with incense and of course Oud.
Yesterday I was helping a friend move and it was hot, so I was drenched in dirt and sweat. When my husband came home he said wow, you look terrible but you still smell good. That was after 8 hours of applying lightly. Enthusiastic yes and would repurchase this again.
lukich_lukyanov – :
wonderful long-lasting oud reminds of Molton & Brown Oud Accord & Gold without the amber or Oud Saphir; goes on with a little citrus and cardamom but just in top notes; dries down to warm, smokey and woody oud that is like a tame Boadicea
sa1m0n1 – :
Another beautiful creation from Byredo house with beautiful and delicate westernized oud accord. Titally safe and unisex, suitable for fall, spring and cool summer evenings.
The oud feels very woody and slightly medicinal, beautiful. The oud accord in Byredo Accord Oud feels more medicinal but still is very mild & safe. I also get very strong papyrus note which I like very much. Oud & papyrus make a harmonius and nice couple. They compliment each other. There’s also a nice limoncello note which stays tamed and never becomes the leader. It just adds some color and makes the blend more alive. The earthy patchouli supports the dominant couple of oud/papyrus. There’s an obvious harmony in the blend and feels like a nice piece of music. As time passes a beautiful note of tobacco emerges and becomes intensive but it feels a little weaker than the papyrus note. This scent is all about harmony with a playful twist of the limoncello note. The rest notes are very mild. I don’t get moss.
Sillage/projection are moderate. I want to make some full wearings to judge its longevity which seems quite the same as in Accord Oud. Same intencity.
Highly recommended for oud beginers this Oud Immortelle and the Accord Oud. Beautifully crafted.

This is a no-go for me, i am a huge fan of Byredo and have 5 scent in my collection.
Most of the Byredos are sweet; seducing and vibrating. They all tend to have this unisex sexy twist. But not this one. This is the opposite to Accord Oud. Which i think is fantastic.
O I is very dry and smoky with a small lemon twist.
Different? Yes.
Special and intriguing? No.

Odor: hot and spicy
Spread and durability: medium and high
Starting note:
A sweet, semi-sweet start of cream, sweet and lemonade fruit
Then get hot smoked, sweet with woody layers and a dirty smell of petticoat
Gourmet Sheer Shea Butter.
Smoked, spicy, bitter woody patchuli, agarwood and cardamon.
The fragrance in this stage is like the whole powdery, soap, aromatic and smoky aroma.
Middle notes:
Spiced, smoked, soap, powdery
Dark, mysterious and smoky space
Final note:
Dark, mysterious, smoky and somewhat depressing, because the heart and the main theme of this space are first to be smoked. Then the atmosphere is a little refreshing, green with chocolate chips and oak moss, powdery, mild and sappy with a bitter and intense warm scent.
Aromatic, hot and spicy aroma, hearty heartwood, powdery and spicy aroma surrounded by sophisticated and bitter smoky layers.
Byredo / Oud Immortel
The main chest of wood, oud, balzamiki fruit and spice is warm

The best option is to use daily in the spring and autumn.
After using it, you will notice that there is a lot of coordination with the weather of these two seasons.
The image of perfume in your mind will be smelling sweet, blooming, pine trees and rainy days.
One of the big mistakes that I can get from Byredo’s perfumes is the rapid destruction of the structure and the aroma of the fragrance that you have to use for how many times you use perfume. This unpleasant feeling is that it makes the perfume lose its charm and prosperity, and may never have a glass Use the 100ML flavor with a passionate interest.

I’ve been working in middle east for a long time. Being passionate about scents, I’ve tested a lot of oud based scents only sold locally. Except few, Oud Immortel surpasses all those ouds based perfumes. All I wish now is if Byredo launches a concentrated perfume oil of Oud Immortel…

“Toilet paper and cigarettes,” my mother said when I asked her what came to mind when she sniffed this. I understand “cigarettes” as the oud is quietly present and softly smokey, but cannot wrap my mind around “toilet paper”–hopefully not used.
On my skin, I am reminded of a much lighter, less scratchy Baccarat Rouge 540: pineapple syrup with a hint of smoke.

The most woody fragrance I own (and even smelled? If we’re not counting Marc Jacobs Bang)
The scent of raw, pure wood is so overwhelming for me in a comforting way. This smells like dad. He worked as a carpenter, and used to be covered in sawdust all the time. And always wore perfume to work, (when I was a kid he wore a lot of citrus fragrances)
The mix of sweet citrus and wood is just beautiful. I know this is a unisex fragrance, but I actually have a hard time feeling like ME in this perfume. I feel like 9 year old me getting picked up after school by daddy. In his companys car. Filled with sawdust and a loving father. A mans man.
As much as I LOVE this fragrance, and love hoarding perfume like it’s no tomorrow, I think I am gonna give this to him. Just to give the fragrance justice. This is his fragrance.

Such high expectations I was bound to be disappointed. On me it’s a very linear woods and smoke, I do like the smell but I get absolutely no silage and it has poor longevity. Applied twice and within 2 hours was only detectable by burying your nose in the application site. Fortunately I had a sample, I doubt I’d invest in the bottle due to longevity issues

I bought a sample of Oud Immortale a couple weeks ago. At that time, I wasn’t interested in it. I happened to try it again and found I quite liked it . First, I felt a soft lemon scent with cleanness. My image of Oud Immortale is Aquatic, chemical and transparent. Longevity is amazing. I Sprayed it on before going to the bed and the next morning it was still present. What I found very interesting is the scent 5 or 6 hours later. . It reminded me of a childhood memory which was my father’s after smoking scent, which I loved. Then, I checked the composition and found there were tobacco leaves in the base note. Yes, it does work well. But I worry that if I wear it some people won’t like the tobacco note as most people I meet don’t smoke, including me. I don’t think Oud Immortale is something I really love, but I’m interested in it with no reason. I’m wondering If I should buy it or not..

Oh! I forgot I had a sample of this! So I am trying it today. Also this might be my first Byredo? I’m guessing the “immortel” in the title is more poetic naming, calling upon the idea of immortality, rather than making a reference to the immortelle flower. Nonetheless, this is alllllll florals on me. Smoke and flowers. I’m not really getting limoncello? Just a mixture of incense and flowers. It’s a very dry and chalky smell, despite being so acrid (I don’t really mean either of these in a bad way, though).
Overall, I find the bold, sweet pungent oud very intriguing. I don’t love it. I like it. It’s certainly going strong in the sillage department (although it gets less intense as it dries down and becomes more traditionally handsome). I wouldn’t order a full bottle, but I would probably return to the sample if I felt adventurous. 6ish/10.

I purchased this perfume as a gift to my grandfather and it was perfect on him – cool, incense-y and spicy. The fragrance arrived I smelt it with trepidation…instantly loved it!! God knows what happened but I couldn’t get enough for this. You get that sweet limoncello and smokey like incense feel backing up the citrus. Not so much like aventus but just as addictive. My new signature scent and definitely in my top 10 all times amazing fragrances. Great longevity average projection. I have many fragrances and have spend thousands on them but this is a winner buy it you won’t regret it I promise

Byredo Oud Immortel is one of the more hyped cold-weather Byredo options that gets a lot of buzz on the internet, so I was eager to finally trying it out after sitting on a sample for some time, and I’m somewhat surprised by it.
For starters, it doesn’t involve much oud. My experience of it is dominated by the floral/citrus/woody side of it. The cardamom adds a spicy floral vibe and mixes with the limoncello (I would have guessed bergamot) to provide a semi-bright opening.
I don’t get too many of the woody notes, though rosewood makes sense after learning of it as a notes. I don’t detect papyrus (perhaps it’s just been a while) or patchouli, either. I get the oud itself but it’s certainly in the background relative to the other areas.
I do gather oakmoss from the dry down, but not really tobacco, either. Performance is at least solid, with slightly above average performance for an EDP, at Byredo’s standard price points ($150 for 50ml, $230 for 100ml).
Oud Immortel is more or less a mystery to me as I’m unsure how all of the aspects are meant to fit together. It certainly isn’t oud-intensive, nor does it emit immortality. A very odd experience, and one that I can’t say I’m too pleased with, especially given the hype. If nothing else, this certainly isn’t one to blind buy but it’s obviously well-loved on the whole so try away!

Nice
First wearing i thought it was weird but at the same time it invited me to wear it again later on.
The whole composition turns around the oud and the limoncello kept on track by the other notes which i don,t really get.
Limoncello and smoke, a nice suede like smoke.
The sweetnes is subtle which is a very good thing.
Performance is good in general. No complaints.
Perfectly unisex and i think this is a good oud scent for the lady’s if you wan,t to smell good and relatively safe but still a little different.

This has become one of- I take that back- my most complimented fragrance out of over 100. It elicits spontaneous compliments like someone walking by you suddenly stops and telling you that you smell great. You say thank you and she says “no, you smell really great”. Imagine walking into a room and later people coming to you one by one to write the name of what you’re wearing.
It is very unique, it smells expensive. Compliments galore. From both sexes.
steanypenue – :
I’ve been obsessed with sampling as many different perfumes as I can for going on two years now, and of course I was well aware of the existence of the oud note during most of that period – with all the hype surrounding it, it would have been impossible to avoid it. So it might sound strange that this is the first time I actually try a scent with oud in it, but it’s true – probably because it’s a lot less omnipresent in real life than it is on the internet.
So when I tried Oud Immortel for the first time, it was a bit of a revelation. The opening was love at first sniff for me, with its wonderful combination of two very different aspects: it’s dominated by a delicious nutty woodiness, and in the background there’s this subtle but intoxicating sweetness, which must be the limoncello. I hadn’t really looked at the list of notes before trying it for the first time, so I assumed that delightful woody aspect must be oud, and I was all set to finally join the hype. But looking at this page I realize it’s probably a (very well blended!) combination of many notes that I’m loving so much here – I don’t get any distinct patchouli or cardemom or even smoke, but I’m sure they all play their important role in this lovely composition.
So I still don’t know what oud smells, but it’s a good first step, and I’ve definitely found a new favourite. This would be on the top of my wish list already if it wasn’t for one thing, a big problem I’ve seen in the few other Byredos I’ve tried as well: it really doesn’t have any staying power at all, which is a crime at this price point. Within an hour it seems to retreat so closely to the skin that I have to sniff my wrist to get anything at all, even when applied generously. That opening’s so great that this important negative point won’t keep me from getting more of this, but I’ll try to get a decant first and use it up completely before considering a full bottle.

Sometimes the smell of fragrance tells you that ” you have smelt me somewhere else.)
This is exactly what happened with this nice and elegantly refreshing fragrance ” oud immortel ”
It starts vetiver-y and lemon-y With delicate base of Oud, yah it is very promising start. Then Oud faints gradually but still there, where the very well done fruity note finds its way. It is somehow Damp and slightly smoked type, as if there is vitiver note mixed secretly with the whole smell. People who have experienced well paco rabanne black xs will find dodgy similarity The key note here is Oakmoss which keeps the whole scent together and keeps it smell kind of smoked and damp fruit vibe.
What does it smell exactly,,, it smells like refrigerated Oud in huge central fridge of fruits particularly Green Apples. If some one happened to him that he enters central refrigerator of fruits then he/ she will realize how this one smells.

When I first tried Oud Immortel it was quite by accident. A friend lent me a sample he had ordered and was unimpressed with. I’m glad I found it but feel unsettled that I didn’t find it with intent. What if I never stumbled on it? I shutter to think.
Oud Immortel makes my mind crazy. This is one of those fragrance experiences that hits you and forever changed your perceptions. I never imagined Oud this way, I never imagined lemon so well done that it actually has a specificity to it. As the notes say, Limoncello, so beautifully done I swear if I knew more about Lemoncello I could name a specific brand and vintage just nosing it. Usually lemon in frags is very unidimensional. Fragrance fanatics know what I’m talking about. The citrus in Nio, Trefle Pur, Neroli portofino, Bergamote 22. All these have a fresh zesty lemony/bergamot/orange zest citrus, all good frags, but the zesty citrus thing has been done to the point of exhaustion. This is the only lemon that I have ever nosed that is truly unique and one of a kind.
Oud is used primarily as an accord to enhance the lead Lemoncello dirty vibe. All other notes present are simply accords, there to enhance the Lemoncello.
On my skin it lasts and lasts and last. Lemon as an accord or note never lasted beyond the heart of a fragrance for me. The Lemoncello in Immortel only becomes more prominent and gorgeous as time goes on. Wow… It projects rather effortlessly and I have received numerous compliments on it. As far as season with lemon I usually say spring or summer, but the potency of this one might cause choke out issue during hot weather so I’ll simply say year round but cautionary during warm/hot months.
I give Oud Immortel the following rating
Longevity – 10 hours
Projection 3-6 feet and occasionally wafts beyond that.
Uniqueness- 5/5
Composition- 5/5
Overall rating 5/5
Do yourself a favor and try this one out.

To begin, Oud Immortel comes on strong with an overdose of vividly yellow lemon supported by cardamom, sugar and booze. The lemon just will not quit. Emerging from behind the lemon is a smoky incense, earthy patchouli and a pleasant, masculine woodiness I would never have associated with oud. After several hours of lemony sweetness, you’re left with tobacco and moss that somehow simultaneously feel dry and damp.

This is a superb oud! It’s smoky and rich. I am not sure if it smells better when I first put it on, or after wearing it all day when it mellows. It evolves on your skin so wonderfully like an exotic trip. It stays strong through the journey, so you can enjoy it over and over. I find it a good value since a little oes a long way. It is affordable. Some of the ouds very expensive. I tried the Jo Malone Bergamot and Oud. Forget it! $170 and the smell was gone in an hour. It was not complex like the Byredo. This may become my signature scent.
ruslangalas – :
Nice stuff!
I get a strong naturalistic lemon with a rough-around the edges patchouli (I found this sort of reedy, modern patch to be the closest thing byredo has to a signature), a big dose of oud, and some smoky woodsiness that I would probably attribute to the papyrus. It has a playful yet mature air to it, riding right on down the middle of the unisex line. Lemon, patchouli and oud make a surprisingly wearable and accessible combination that garners quite a bit of compliments; I don’t think the Aventus comparisons are too far off, but this one has plenty of personality on it’s own. Performs amazingly and I like the clean bottle design. 8/10
laf990JeomiWogkig – :
A filthy, punk sort of oud, marinated in juice and bathed in mud. It’s chaotic and controlled at the same time, with a disparate jumble of notes that all tie back to the oud in a way that amplifies and twists it all at once- the lemoncello and incense, for example, adding emphasis and flavor to oud’s sharp medicinal top end while the patchouli sinks its resinous bottom deep into the loamy earth of some shady forest. I’ve been dosing out my sample periodically for over three months and I’m still blown away by it- few scents, in my opinion, can be creative in such a risky, irreverent way and create something more than a novelty scent.
Don’t buy it if you want a classic oud. Do buy it if you want an oud that smells like it got high, went to a show in someone’s basement, and spent the rest of the night by a bonfire.

This is a really interesting and unique fragrance, it is like this sweet fruity bubblegumlike liquer-y, greatly balanced, smoky fragrance to me. The bubbleguminess comes from the Limonchello I think, and I got this ADP Oud / Wonderoud like smoky Oud and thats it, maybe + a touch of Incense. Longevity is beastly, and projection is just perfect. It is more masculine to me. I give Oud Immortel a 8,5/10 only because after 1-2 hours later the fruitiness is really toned down, and I get only the smoky oud and maybe a touch of that fruitiness, overall it is a great fragrance and I think signature scent worthy.

First, can I start by saying NYC Rocker’s review is the bomb. Totally, spot on. I have wanted this for a while, based on a quick spritz in a shop on holiday. It was late in the day, my husband was maxed out and there was me going “I need this, I want this” etc etc. So, fast forward to today when he bought it for me. It is better than I remembered. It is subtle, sweet, warm, cold, complex and simple. The oud is both the star of the show and part of the chorus line. A fragrance to take you anywhere.

I love this Juice. However my wife does not.
I do get the Oud from this…it’s sweet, dry, bitter, juicy, and cold all at the same time. I do get some menthol from it as well (strange). This fragrance is definitely BEAST MODE!!!!! Sprayed it took a shower…still there! I do enjoy the Limoncello and Smoke the most.

Oud Immortal totally works on me. It’s very warm and comforting. Magically lasts all day.
Honestly, I walk around smelling my own wrists when I wear it and it’s not even new. Other people smell me too…not in a gross way! They just want to know what I’m wearing.
There is something about this fragrance that will almost makes you salivate. Not because it smells like food–it’s not sweet at all. Just warm, in a very palpable way, and enveloping. Great for day or night.

The first three days with this perfume were not good. I was already sure I would have to pass it on. The first time I sprayed it on me it popped out as a sweet flowery powdery thing that almost disgusted me. I felt betrayed! But alas. I gave it a few chances still as you should and it turned out great! After a few initial days it accepted me and turned to what it should be: an oudy, woody scent with a sour sweet undertone. It is not feminine sweet, it is oriental without being spicy, oud starts the day and melts in. Everybody loves the perfume on me, a colleague run after me at the office sniffing the air and was stunned. Still the sillage is only moderate, it does not take over the room but it lingers after me. The longevity is really good, 12 hrs easy. I am happy I gave it a fair chance even if it
