Description

Guerlain presents the new collection of fragrances in Colour Collection Flacon Quadrilobé, featuring five fragrances from the exclusive offer. The new collection is a response to the challenge of creating associations and synthesis between certain colors and scents. The iconic Guerlain Quadrilobé bottle was created by Baccarat in 1908 for Jacques Guerlain’s perfume Rue de la Paix. The bottle, which is now produced by Verreries Brosse, is used for private and exclusive collections.

For Colour Collection, the famous bottle is presented in five different colors for the first time, referring to five types of precious gems. Each bottle comes in a luxurious amethyst box with the Guerlain symbol of the sun. The gemstone-colored bottles contain five different fragrances selected from the Les Exclusifs collection: the sapphire bottle contains L’Heure de Nuit (2012), the ruby bottle features Oriental Brûlant (2008), Santal Royal (2014) comes in a green bottle that represents emerald, amber is the color of Spiritueuse Double Vanille (2007), and amethyst is the color for L’Eau de Parfum du 68 (2013).

Oriental Brûlant represents the color of passion, fiery temperament and sensuality. The composition is a cocktail of herbs, almond, tonka bean and carnal balms.

Colour Collection Flacon Quadrilobé perfumes are available in bottles of 125 ml at the price of 650 Euros. They will be sold starting in June 2016 in the Guerlain boutique at Place Vendome. The nose behind this fragrance is Christine Nagel.

Beautifully balanced. This is wonderful. Smells a little like guet apens which appeared from Guerlain in 1999 and has since been transformed into Royal Extract. This also has citrus and spice, vanilla, almonds and sugar. I love it. It develops really rather wonderfully and I cannot stop sniffing my wrist. Eyewateringly pricey but on the plus side you do get 125ml.
The bottle and packaging are divine. For me this is the best from the coloured bottle line – having tried all of them in Harrods this week.

Fragrance Review For Oriental Brulant By Guerlain
    Top Notes
    Tangerine Herbal Notes
    Middle Notes
    Almond
    Base Notes
    Vanilla Tonka Styrax
Another discontinued beauty that should make a comeback. This was a gourmand version of Rue de la Paix by Guerlain. This is a very delicious almond scent with vanilla bean and extract. It is classified as an Oriental but only because of the presence of styrax. A true Oriental has sandalwood and patchouli in it. But Oriental or not this is heavenly vanilla, particularly in the dry down. This came as a splash bottle of perfume, very retro and appealing to me as a vintage lover and perfume bottle collector.
The opening is herbal with green notes, they smell like green moss or herbs, the scent that comes out of botanica or botanical garden. But it is not overpowering at all. In fact the color that came to mind was not green at all but a cream color. Before long the tangerine note gives this scent a fruity charm and brings it out of the greenness and into the realm of the feminine fruit. A sweet fresh citrus, and for whatever reason, the combination of green notes and citrus, this starts to smell like a rose. At the end of the performance of the top notes, this is a lovely lush citrusy rose scent.
The heart is an almond, spicy and woodsy and I would not be surprised if this was an almond wood note. The heart is small. It does not wear for very long and in fact it’s a strange sort of progression from citrus, herbs, rose and down to styrax-vanilla. The almond is spicy, nutty, woodsy, and a bit sweet. There is also a balsamic touch, just a bit. It has a vanilla in the end that is to die for.
I loved this perfume and found it became increasingly powdery as it developed but it was never too powdery for me. The fragrance doesn’t last very long and yet it was memorable. I used to wear this to work and being the boss/CEO I don’t mind wearing even stronger scents than this. This was formal but relaxed, went well with white suits and pant suits in the summer. I hope to God they bring this back. It’s too bad Guerlain fragrances come and go when some of them should just stay!

Darn, this is one of my favorite scents of all time. I’d love to have this bottle, but the juice is the SAME. For that price you should get pure parfum, not EDP! The scent is so amazing though. If I had loads of money, I’d probably buy this because it’s gorgeous and the scent is mesmerizing! Definitely an oriental gourmand, imo.
