Boy am I glad I bought the WRONG bottle!
By August I was already tiring of our Summer which started February 1st this year, and I looked for something inexpensive that others were recommending for Fall (if Fall might actually arrive). I kept seeing Adnan B. Ambre Noir mentioned, and even though I’m not usually a fan of sweet scents (and boy is that one sweet to me) I ordered a bottle online… or so I thought! I mistakenly ordered “Noir”, not “Ambre Noir”. What a wonderful mistake that turned out to be! See, even though I appreciate cool & cold weather scents most, I only get to wear them maybe 2-months a year unless I visit friends, family, or take northerly Fall & Spring vacations. That means I need a good selection of warm weather fragrances to avoid a mental breakdown from lack of variety. I mean there is only so much variation in citrus dominants, or the boring (but occasionally different) aquatics, or even “man-friendly” citrus flowers, greens and lightly sweet fruits one can wear 10-months a year. This Noir was exactly what I needed.
Does it smell like Aventus? Heck no. Glad it doesn’t as when I first tested Aventus long ago I was one of the few who didn’t get it. Please don’t misunderstand my comments as that is a well done scent with good quality ingredients, but I don’t like pineapple on ham, on a pizza, or apparently in my fragrances. In fact, it’s because so many people (incorrectly) claim Noir is an Aventus clone that I never would have even tried Noir if not for my glorious ordering mistake. Not trying Noir would have been a travesty, and makes me question even more whether some people leave review comparisons to help, or purposely mislead others.
To my nose Noir starts with moderate berry and mild pink pepper with sweetness kept down by the mild tart green apple and mild bergamot. The berry is nowhere as good as in Atmysphere but then nothing is. Intensive birch (initially more smokey then more leathery) and mild patchouli come in next, then mild amber and moderate oud. The musk in the base is mild to me. Looking at the intensity of notes to others above I see I’m in the minority. I think at times I can discern rose, but just as I think I do it’s gone. I don’t get any vanilla at all. Others I’m around claim to smell Noir up to 6-feet away for hours, and I have no idea exactly how long it lasts but I’m still smelling (at least) leathery birch and oud coming to my nose 18-hours later. I seldom go longer without showering so I can’t comment beyond that. This stuff lasts as long on me as the woody drydown of Costa Azzarra and what remains to smell is nearly as pleasant. That’s a compliment considering one cost me 15x more than the other.
So make the same “mistake” I did and buy some Noir. Buy it for what IT brings, not because someone said it smelled exactly like…

Fanstastic fragrance with excellent quality and blending. Because of the Agarwood and Pepper notes it’s much closer to Cedrat Boise than Aventus and the fruitiness in the opening is present throughout the life of the fragrance. Longevity and performance on me is well above average with 3-4 sprays. I highly recommend checking Noir out, it should cost much more than the $20 I paid.

It’s not an Aventus clone the same way Macera Cedrat Boisé isn’t an Aventus clone either.
Adnan B. NOIR is a great scent on its own and similar to the Mancera perfume, as well to a darker version of Halston Amber.

On me, this is nothing like Aventus. I wear both to work and none of my co-workers ever confuse this for Aventus. More smoke, and a ton of amber, sweet amber.

I’ve bought this last year from a local perfume shop that I usually visit, he had a shelf for cheap products, and this was there, the bottle looked quality all over it from far, checking it the cap appeared to be clear plastic and cheap, yet the bottle was thick and heavy. The scent resembles Aventus in the smokiness in the first 5 minutes after that it turns into a smoky semi sweet scent with no fruitiness or whatever, the scent is thin, not a multi layered rich or deep, very flat and boring, and in hot weather is very very cloying and toxicating. I got one bottle as a gift over the one I bought, I gave both away to a friend of mine.

Weak projection, lasts around an hour before it turns into a skin scent. It is within the same CATEGORY as aventus, but doesn’t get close unfortunately.

It smells nothing like Aventus but it is really similar to Cedrat Boise. Performance is minimal as it is with nearly all of these clones.

Yet another Aventus clone, which I am stacking like chord wood these days. Let’s see, on the positive side it smells pretty good, is inexpensive, and has some Aventus vibes. However, performance is not great and there are several better inexpensive options. Much like all the other Aventus clones, which can smell like Aventus (1-4), none duplicate those gorgeous burnt-orange/smokey-birch accords that makes Aventus something truly special.
And yes, I have nothing better to do with my time and money other than collect Aventus clones of varying quality…even though I almost always reach for Aventus over the clones.

Bought it for 17 euros from a super market, after watching a review on youtube.
It’s clear that it’s a clone of Aventus, but it doesn’t arrive to a Creed quality.
Poor projection and longivity, became a skin scent after 1 hour or 2.
For this price, offer yourself a nice daily perfume.
    To consume without moderation.

@adrian.meeks.35 it is a cheap classy scent. So simple. You can find it from 12 US dollars – 39 US dollars. And no, no one makes clones of a scent that itself is a clone. I love it and I’m amazed by its price/quality/performance ratio range! I’ll write a review sometime..

Aventus minus sharp and citrus opening. When I first smelled the cap I immediately thought of Aventus. On skin it is a bit darker than Aventus but nailed the smokiness. Projection and longevity is above average.

This particular juice is so popular now that clones of this fragrance are being made…the original juice is very dark verses the light colored juice that you might see for $30 or so …the price and for the guest that gave the not even close truth about this particular juice being $20 it’s obvious you’ve never even put your nose on this scent!!!

I bought this from a site I trust luxury perfume, after reading some of the reviews. Ive been wearing Creed Aventus for a while now, and after hearing about this being an “aventus killer” I had to test it out for myself. I sprayed it on and could instantly tell it was the real deal. Aventus has a VERY unique scent and set of notes. Noir definitely hits those notes. Im so glad to have found this, im spending a 1/3 of the price and getting the exact same results. Awesome.

I bought this after buying the Ambre Noir and heard about noir being a Aventus killer so I came across this now hard to find gem and the is answer yes it is really a Aventus killer without being a clone. It starts off similar to Byredo’s Black Saffron and then makes its way to the Aventus stage. It’s very rich in terms of smell and last at least 9+ HOURS and with each hour it becomes more and more like Aventus so much more that a Rep at Neimans Creed counter thought I was wearing Aventus Lol! You have clones of Aventus out on the market but this is NOT one..this has a mind of its own!
