I have the EDP, here i see mostly review of the oil.
To me is a very strong masculine scent but with some sweetness that really confuses me. It was a blind buy and sadly i don’t like it.
It starts with very strong “cold” spices, anise and caraway. Immediately after is a very very strong musk, but in a interesting way because there is a lot of sweetness. A LOT of sweetness.
I’t completely different from any other musk that i ever smelt.
Is beautifully made but it’s not for me.
I first tried this EDP in winter and i found that now in the warm season, with a more temperate climate it develops more and is more complex and beautiful.
I wanted to like this so badly but is too strong, extravagant, complex and weird to me.

“Musk Al Ghazal” by Al Haramain,
a fragrance signifying the beauty of nature and its emphatic aromas.
“They say musk and love can never be concealed. Of course it’s something you’re not bothered about.
You flaunt your love with unabashed glee & spread cheer with this romantic aroma.
There’s one thing common to you and “Musk Al Ghazal”.
You’re both infectious and cannot be kept away from the spotlight ..”
The combination of caraway, vanilla, woody notes and chocolate to the rich musk makes this scents very interesting, very uni’sex and very wearable.
It opens with a harsh and spicy notes of caraway and anise while the middle notes pure musk with some lovely spices even a subtle hint of gourmand with a dark chocolate notes aroma towards the dry down.
Maybe it would be great on a very sexy man but mostly ’cause of the sweetness i see it for a young woman that is beautiful, grown up, strong confident of her own power of seduction.
A perfect arabic scent for a perfect night in every season’s .. ♡
Plz guys, let this develop on your skin, it’s so worth the wait .. you only need a small drop or swipe and it lasts and lasts … this attar is warm, sensual and “girlish” .. :))) one of my favourite .. ♡
    Highly recommend .. ♡

To 98tacos: my bank account is crying blood, but damn I discovered AKAF and thanks a lot for the advice you gave me. I tried a pretty musk of this maison but I find it still too sweet for me. I’m still looking for something more “sauvage”, but I think to have the right ingredients to create what I want. Thank u so much. Really.

Bobby jean, this one is worth trialling. Though best to smell from a reputable dealer. I tried this in store and it was amazing then purchased a small rollerball from ebay and it wasnt the same.

I love real sexy musk. I’d like to try Al Ghazal but I’d like to know which musk perfume is the BEST of all. I hate sweet soapy artificial white musks. I want an animalic one, seductive and intriguing. Which is the best arabian oil you tested with theese qualities? Thanks in advance

I agree with Shwets. One needs only half a swipe. Opens very raw & strong, so waiting is needed for the fragrance to evolve.
After an hour it becomes a woody, powdery, pleasant fragrance
I detect Jasmine when applied on the arm. But not on the wrist.
    6 hours of decent sillage.

I am beyond disappointed because I was just DYING for this to come in – I am looking for a deep, dark, animalic musk that is as close to deer musk as I can get, but this is just…not for me. It’s SWEET, and there are spices, but I don’t know what they are, and perhaps because I’ve been raised on Kiehls Musk Oil, I don’t even know what real musk smells like, but I’m not sure how I’ll be able to wear this. It’s STRONG, so strong, that even scrubbing with soap and water does not get it off my wrist, but it’s not the sexy, dirty smell I want. It’s almost like a spicy fruitcake, with an undercurrent of something that has spoiled on me. I’m stuck with it until I shower tonight and we’ll see what it dries down to, but if anybody wants to swap for this, I have a brand new 3ml bottle.

This was the first Al Haramain fragrance that I purchased as I was so intrigued by the flask. It was like Alibabas treasure! Was not disappointed when it arrived, contained in a beautiful display box. Presentation awesome. The juice was not girly/ lollipop musky enough for me but my husband is the proud owner of this amazing buy. Uniquely lovely

I have a brand new bottle of eau de parfum to sell or swap, the bottle is silver and comes in a green and silver box. who’s interested?
No longer have it, I am glad is gone.

I don’t know… Unless a seller played a joke with me…I can not see chocolate, OR wood, OR vanilla, OR anise. It is deer. It is MUSK with caraway. It eats my eyes out, like when you chop dozen of onions for BBQ. Starter – madly dirty musk, heart, – warm, yet crazy dark musk, drydown..I couldn’t wait for such – washed all off, better to say – covered it all by Al-Haramain’s Amber. Finita la commedia, I will stick to my amber-based oils.
It says – “ideal for Ruqya”, whatever that means, – I will leave it to men and to their Ruqua.

    Deep, “purple” musk…
These fragrances always pack a punch. Attars/perfume oils are the best for projection, longevity etc. I always like to wear them when I get a chance. In this case, I knew I was dealing with something special.
When I first try Musk Al Ghazal I get a smoky, deep musky vibe, I can’t really describe it, other than a “deep purple” kind of vibe…
I know that probably doesn’t say much, but to me it represents velvet, dark textures, animalic notes, but at the same time soft and in control. In fact, this fragrance has a powerful yet soft vibe which is so nice and sensual.
The name itself translates as the musk of a gazelle, of course it comes from the time when real (animalic) musk was extracted and obtained from deer and other such animals. Thankfully this is no longer the case. However Al Haramain have almost recreated the smell of this (supposedly)… and the result is a musk that smells soft, yet strong, and full of perfume and texture. I really like it.
Just a little is enough here (especially with an oil) and upon wearing this I have received compliments. I think that, if you appreciate fragrances with authentic, dark, animalic, musky notes, like from Serge Lutens etc. Then you will really enjoy this one. It’s also a fraction of the price, so if you are brave and adventurous, try this one out!

    Hi all there,
Here is my review of Al Haramain Musk Al Ghazal.
At the beginning I want to mention my review is for 60ml EDP vaporisateur spray version, which comes in a really beautiful silver, tall and some kind of fairy-tale bottle, that makes you think it hides some magic inside 🙂 Lovely presentation!
I can’t really explain exactly how it smells or separate different notes, so I’ll tell you what comes into my mind when I sniff it – this is the Ultimate Lord of the Musk!
I’ve never smelled such a scent – so masculine, so animalistic and elegant at the same time.
In the pyramid here you can read there is vanilla and dark chocolate, but I can’t really sense much of these notes. On my skin there is nothing sweet – mostly musk and woody notes.
Longevity – very good – may be something like 9 hours.
Sillage – very good too – it’s not overwhelming or filling a room, but it is noticeable in a close range.
The performance is more close to good examples of western edt perfumes.
Final words – I’m very happy I got Musk Al Ghazal, because it is very unique scent, that I have never thought I would smell, because Musk Al Ghazal is different from any musk I know and it’s a kind of animal, truly natural and mystery musk… Al Haramain claims it smells similar to deer musk, but doesn’t contain any of this rare and controlled (due to indiscriminate killing of the musk deer) supply of pure deer musk.
All in all – it is a great pure masculine scent from Al Haramain.
    Thank you for your attention.

An extraordinary, rich, woody-gourmand musk. There’s definitely a chocolate note. One of the finest out there. It feels old, as in what might have been concocted in ancient Arabie. And the bottle reflects this: “copper” with “diamonds.” Bless these perfume houses for their meticulous hand in fragrance and packaging.
Back to sniffing and conjuring a medieval palace.
Addendum: I remember the 60-70s when musks were super popular (Bonnie Bell, hello?) because they were so primly and artificially “sexy.” Well, this juice reminds us of what a truly sexy musk smells like: sweet, animalic, receptive. I plan to go to get groceries and be leapt upon by all the baggers, checkers, and fellow shoppers. Sigh … This one is a treasure!!!

This one starts out very masculin and heavy. A deep smokey spicy and dark ambery balsamic musk. I felt it was too overwhelming when I just tested it, it made me feel a bit uncomfortable.
But after about an hour, the scent started to change into a sweet, soft and warm skin scent. Loads of amber, still a nice spicy edge and some incense, but especially that musk developed so lovely.
Please let this develop on your skin. It’s so worth the wait! You only need a small drop or swipe and it lasts and lasts but I already bought a 30 ml bottle.
    Great find!

Smells woody when I expected musk. It’s an okay fragrance, nothing special. I can’t smell any chocolate in it that’s for sure. It’s just a very average arabian fragrance. Smells like something I’ve smelled many times before, not unique smelling in any way. My mum said she can smell it around the room but I can’t smell it when I have it on. It smells arabian.

You only need a drop or swipe – powerful sillage and longevity. Wonderfully rich quality. Reminds me of a amber dominant scent lacking the perfume quality but more of a natural scent.
Give it a chance to develop and if it works on you then its an amazingly rich earthy woody dark choc scent as the notes describe. On me its not animallic.
Reminds me along the lines of SL Ambre Sultan, Kuumba Made Paste etc, so you will need to try this if you like heavier scents as not for those with lighter tastes.

Bitter orange, red berries, coriander, caraway, licorice (not anise), geranium, neroli, lotus, Madagascar vanilla, almond, fig, saffron, cocoa, olibanum, cedar, wee touch of oudh, another wood that I cannot identify, choya ral(?), and a beautiful musk-accord- slightly animalic, but mostly sweet-warm- just glorious! This is a slightly gourmand, narcotic, sultry musk! I’m in heaven. This was a totally blind buy for me and I have absolutely no regrets! The bottle is metal (sturdy and heavy!) decorated with rhinestones.
As Shwets below says: wait for the top-notes (orange-geranium) to settle before judging this one. Sillage (on me) starts out as moderate-to-heavy for the first few hours, but then falls to a soft, intimate level, and remains so for 24+hours.
