Full disclosure – I’m a HUGE fan of Musgo Real. However, until now I’ve only ever tried the Classic line. I was extremely excited to visit the Claus Porto store on a recent trip to Lisbon, and sample the rest of the line.
Orange Amber was an immediate favourite. It’s the “closest” to the original Musgo in that it’s a classic barbershop fragrance, but with a twist. This is a linear fragrance, with a lovely mix of bitter orange, spices, bergamot, and musk. I honestly don’t get any amber, but it’s on the bottle so I assume it must be in there. A good, clean fragrance that would be nice for a summer day or evening.
I loved it so much I picked up the EDC, aftershave, and shaving cream. Longevity is good for an EDC, I get around 4 hours with moderate sillage.

I’ve been wearing this for two days straight and have to say, there is something particularly good about it. I love barbershop scents, but this one has a certain balance to it, a refinement that is perfect. Nothing stands out too strong, it’s one perfectly blended cologne that you can splash on liberally with no worries about over-doing it. I love the way it will reappear randomly during the day, suddenly you smell it again, “there it is!” It’s a great cologne for those times that you want something different from the usual lavender-based barbershop smells, but still like that general realm. Great stuff.

I’ve had this for a month or so now and am thrilled with it. I find myself reaching for it every day now. The clean/barbershop quality is definitely there, just something comforting, cosy and I think welcoming about it. My wife loves it on me.
Love the shave cream too (but the original scent Musgo Real is still my favourite on the planet). A little disappointed in the body lotion. The lotion itself is fine, but the fragrance has a slight harshness/bitterness that the cologne does not. I’ve frequently found with many lines that I will have a distinct preference for either the cologne or the body lotion. I have a clear preference for Garcia’s Agua de Colonia body lotion over their colonia. Again, a bitter element is noted on the colonia that I find absent on the lotion.
At any rate I highly recommend the Orange Amber Cologne…..a great, feelgood scent.

I was in London in February and came across this in the Liberty store. A nice surprise as I was only familiar with the original Musgo Real scent (I’ve been using the shave cream regularly for the last 15 years)
Immediately appealed to me with the barbershop quality noted by other reviewers here. Clean, evoking memories of days gone by. I’d just filled my shopping quota down the road at Trumpers, but this is the next scent I’ll be trying!

OK, I love it, this is very well developed fragrance. Nothing ground braking but extremely good balanced the barbershop cologne. If you are looking for real soapy, clean, slightly citrus and musky perfume you have to try it. On the scale of the “barberiest” fragrances it will be the winer for sure. Oranges are there, the amber is there but for about 30 minutes, than it undergo metamorphosis to be clean shirt dried on the sun in the windy day. Amazing and very natural.

Musgo Real’s No. 1 Orange Amber cologne is a man’s scent — not by the smell of the fragrance (the scent itself is actually fairly unisex), but by the overall feel of the cologne. The aura or imaginary impressions that Orange/Amber gives is one of an old-school barbershop, with a clean/soapy smell. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s nice.
It begins with basically orange and amber as the label says. The scent itself is mostly orange, but the amber gives it a velvety, soft kind of feel that perhaps you might not often get from citrus fragrances. After a half-hour or so, they merge together and you get a fragrance that’s basically like a man’s facial soap or something. After I wore this a few times, I decided that I really liked it.
If you need something for warm weather, that wears light and soft, this might be a good fragrance for you.
