Description

Mousseline Pêche is a fragrance collaboration between Charna Ethier of Providence Perfume Company and fashion designer/former Project Runway competitor Jonathan Joseph Peters.

“The sweet smell of peach warming in the sun,
A feather light frock of the palest silk mousseline,
Bronzed skin kissed with lush ylang ylang, rose and tonka.”

This tropical floral-fruity fragrance is Providence Perfume Company’s first eau de toilette, and the fragrance was inspired by the soft, sheer mousseline de soie (chiffon) fabric used in the fashion designer’s summer resort collection.

Mousseline Pêche features top notes of yuzu, pink grapefruit and rosewood, with a heart of peach accord, ylang-ylang and rose otto. The base consists of tonka, vetiver and spun sugar in the form of natural maltol. This is an all-natural fragrance, available as a limited edition eau de toilette, 15 ml. Mousseline Pêche was launched in 2013.

If you are familiar with ylang essential oil, you will recognize ylang right away in the opening of Mousseline Pêche. Peach is often represented as a shampoo-clean scent in fragrances, or it is sometimes buried and woven in with much heavier components, so that the peach does not star in the composition, but it instead gives a subtle nuance to the overall feeling of the scent.
In Mousseline Pêche however, all-natural peach is absolutely the star, but it is not a fresh peach. It’s a spicy dried peach, spiced by the potent floral bite of ylang and dried grapefruit rind and hay-like vetiver. The sweetness is tempered by the rawness of the aromatic components, and never overwhelms. It’s like an organic natural peach tea.The peach is not juicy, but it is delicious and very unique. It dries down to a soft fuzzy peach skin. The dry down is my favorite part. I find it very intimate.
The far, far-drydown does indeed smell like some sort of spiced creamy holiday dessert. I thought gingerbread, dannysmom said peach cobbler, which definitely makes sense. This stage caught me by surprise, and is probably due to the tonka and spun sugar.
I really enjoy how this fragrance evolves over time. It is by no means linear. It projects pretty well at about 2 feet, and longevity is pretty good. I will probably devour my entire spray sample in the next few days. I don’t know what I’ve been waiting for. An all natural evening, perhaps.
I don’t know what happened with the reviewer below me, but perhaps he tried an expired sample? All natural fragrances tend to have a shorter shelf-life. I don’t get a single one of the obscure vile things he detects. There aren’t even any white flowers included in this composition!! Perhaps this is not the most accessible perfume ever created, but it certainly doesn’t smell like bodily excretions. That’s just cray…

Ugh, no. This is white flower indolic extreme party serving BO and diabetic cat urine. I can appreciate what trying to achieve but really not see anyone wearing this. No evolution, stayed as sour citrus an slightly peachy indolic urine. Sorry not a positive review but this was not positive experience.

This one is amazing! I will start by saying that I am not a fruity perfume lover, and I definitely am not a big fan of peach. When I ordered two other samples from Providence, I received this one for free. I wasn’t expecting to like it, but I was wrong.
It starts off a bit like a peach cobbler. Sweet, peachy, creamy. Then comes the vetiver, tonka, and spun sugar. Wow! It adds a spicy twist to a decadent, sweet creation.
I am so impressed with this company. All three of the samples I received are perfumes that I will be purchasing. Plus, I’ll be ordering more samples of the scents I haven’t tried yet.
Sillage is not massive. It’s more of an up close and personal scent. However, it lasted hours on me. I applied it at 8am, and I can still smell it at 430 pm. It’s a winner!

This is the latest trial in my search for Peach. This delivers a soft warm peach and floral weighed down with slight tonka bean and woody note. Worth checking out for peach lovers…I hope to read some more expert reviews of this one. Their website offers samples at an OK price.
