Mother is another goodie from Opus Oils. This one is a straight up Figgy Chocolate. Right up your alley if you are a lover of sweet gourmands. Fig and Chocolate are the dominant notes although I do also get hints of rose that makes the frag sweeter and woody notes tie it up together. I do get the buttered caramel popcorn vibe that someone below mentioned as well. It is more pronounced as I get near the dry down, lovely caramel butterscotch kind of note.
Mother does project well, in a 5 foot radius for the first couple of hours actually. Longevity is also good at the 7-8 hour mark. If Fig notes or sweet gourmands pique your interest, do check this one out. Very Nice.

This smells awesome. Truly like nothing I’ve ever tried before. A true fig scent with some coconut, dried fruits, a dollop of chocolate and pink rose petals (very light). Dense and long lasting and as someone said below me, the dry down has a buttered popcorn dry down, not very potent but it has the light essence of slightly overcooked popcorn that you would smell a half block away, wafting in the air.

this is really sweet! the fig is front and centre and quite forcefully potent. it knocks you out! it is sweetened by the rose (i would say), and the chocolate is also there, but not as bitter and cacao-ey as you’d think. it’s your token milka type of chocolate. nice and creamy. worth a sniff…

I get a waft of coconut, figgy on edge and a big dose of pineapple, then dark, dark chocolate and candied fruit and sweetened condensed milk. Even a little buttered popcorn on the dry down. It feels decadent. Unique.

The cedar and rose make this seem more like chocolate and strawberries.

DRIED FIG ‘SALAMI’
Charlito’s Cocina, a small artisan salami company in NYC, makes a ‘to die for’ dried fig salami. It’s meatless – but it’s shaped like a small salami. Mother, by Opus, smells exactly like this delicacy – strong dried fig with some spice notes underneath.
This earthy gourmand opens powerfully. Even a few dabs of this on my wrist was too much. After two hours, the dried fig behaved itself, and the chocolate, wood, and floral notes danced beautifully in harmony underneath for hours on end.
For those who treasure an earthy gourmand, you may choose to covet this fragrance and never reveal its source.
ps. I had to get this sample from the Opus OIl Web site.

I would like to know where can I find this fragrance line please.

Very boozy…at first smells like a strong liqueur. It is a fig fragrance with waffs of chocolate…but the chocolate almost comes off as a toffee note. The rose creates a nice balance for all of the notes….yes, it is very strong and long lasting. Worth the money… …..

At last in the database!! This one is a gorgeous blend! Very long lasting and pretty big projection! Totally worth every penny you pay!
As for the scent itself, it is a pretty linear fig scent. It doesn’t morph much as time goes by but in this case it is ok because it stays as gorgeous as it begins for 12+ hours.
To me this is a very well balanced mix, and it is really hard for me to say which one is the main note of the above listed. You can perfectly notice the roses covered in dark chocolate that gives a bit of deep sweetness, the woods in the background which give the earthy touch to the mix, and the fig, a pretty juicy but not excessively mature or sweet fig. I would say this one is a slightly green fig. I can also detect a note which reminds me of green strawberries even if they are not listed..but there’s something that has this vibe in the juice..it could be the roses..a rather young pink rose as opposed to those dark and sweet velvety red ones.
It has the density of an amber fragrance and it’s richness as well. Despite it’s simplicity it is very well done and very unique, and it is very dimensional as well…as if you could notice the different layers of the perfume.
Totally recommend! i have been given tons of compliments wearing this one as it is very very easy to like.
Spray it with moderation!! or it can turn overwhelming easily as it is an oil concentration.
