Description
…!
Dionysiac drama?
Simply rock’n’roll?
A melody from the brink of light,
a unique spell to light up the
dark blue evening sky
An intoxicating, extravagant vivace play
with an ultra feminine mood. Opening with a handsome and delicious note
of Eau de vie de Mirabelle, for a spontaneous modern take
on the minimalism. Sweet and radiant,
a sparkling overtone of tender dark yellow Mirabelle infused with Pink
Pamplemousse create a bouncy joyfulness impression. A slightly
powdery-caramelized Freesia, together with an unexpected hint of
crisp Rhubarb and green Galbanum, nuance the
undertone of an assertive Sandalwood.
An alcoholic melody to dazzle the star of the night.
Monodie was launched in 2011. The nose behind this fragrance is Vincent Micotti.

Modern, nostalgic and incredibly bright! Joyful and sparkling fragrance beginning. In the drydown is dusty and a little caramelized (thanks to the caramel note), I like the touch of freesia here, he gives the fragrance a young air and a little dark. Not bad, only downside in my opinion is the sillage which is really very soft, longevity is average.

this one reminds me of Lancome´s Aromatonic – the green bottle.

This should sum up the fragrance basically – a fruity bubble bath. It smells very girly, pink and fruity and it also makes me think of soap and bath products, it does remind me a tiny bit of a Garnier Fructis shampoo I must say and for something with such a huge price tag as “Monodie” it is most certainly not a compliment.
What I must admit I do enjoy in this – it’s the rhubarb, it’s the first perfume where I’ve felt rhubarb so unmistakably and natural, it does really represent how they smell, unfortunately they are mushed up in a sweet mess of cyclamen and citruses. Unfortunately the citruses do not appear here fresh, they just add to the sweetness. When we arrive in the heart part cyclamen gets stronger making this even sweeter now remind me of bubble gum, I do get a musky undertone, but unfortunately no woody tones nor the gourmand caramel.
So basically it is a fruity floral, the quality is good, you will get AMAZING rhubarb, but it does smell like bubble gum and bubble bath mixed together in a sweet mix, so I do not think one should pay 190 EUR for smelling like this. Sorry about that.
So far Ys Uzac has dissapointed me with generic creations not worthy of the price tag.

A transparent green citrus-floral-musk with sweet and sour fruity undertones. Forgettable.

This opened with tart grapefruit, then out came mandarin, green rhubarb and galbanim in a smooth but still fruity-tart mix. This is slightly more feminine I feel, but still bracing/refreshingly zingy enough to be worn by males. It’s nice but not me.
