MGM Grand for HIm has been an under the radar fragrance and due to that fact, a lot of people have missed out on it. My understanding is that it’s discontinued but bottles can still be found on Ebay, although the prices are already starting to inch up. My suggestion is that if you want a bottle, pick one up soon before the prices get out of hand or the fragrance itself because becomes virtually impossible to find.
The fragrance is by Vapro and that particular company is noted for making specific fragrances for the pleasing scents that are pumped into hotels or in hotel pools and a variety of other businesses. These particular fragrances (there is an MGM Grand for Her as well) were very likely made for MGM exclusively. I know it was sold the gift shop at the MGM grand in Las Vegas but I when I was looking for it at the gift shop at the MGM in Detroit, the sales associate said that she’d heard of it but thought it was only sold in the Las Vegas location.
For what it’s worth, I’m thinking there are other places that may have bought the overstock when the fragrance line was discontinued. With a google search, I saw that it had been advertised at WalMart and a couple of other locations but they were all out of stock.
Describing MGM Grand for Him is a bit difficult, because even though I can see what notes are in it, they’re blended in such a way that it’s hard to discern. It’s fresh, clean, slightly green, slightly citrus – although I can’t pick out a specific citrus note individually and it has a “vibe”.
The vibe isn’t like eucalyptus or menthol but there’s something that gives it a bit of radiance. Again, it’s hard to describe but it does have a bit of a scent trail and I guess I’d have to attribute that to the ambergris.
Projection is average to above average- it’s not a skin scent but it’s short of being overwhelming. It’s strong enough to where you and someone close to you will smell it but it won’t choke people out from a distance. Longevity is good and I get 6-8 hours out of it.
