Straight to the Point then to the pointless:
This opens up to a fresh bitter lemony and dusty smell. Then settles to a woody, amber that is exactly similar to when the original Alien settles on your skin for those plenty of hours of it sitting on your skin but with the bitterness instead of the sourness I get from the original. At times this puts me off but there are times when I love to wear this. But that’s just in a matter of 3 weeks from buying it.I still prefer the original Alien EDP.
It’s not long lasting nor does it have that heavy sillage.
Overall it’s a good summer scent.I asked my mom to smell this and told me this smells like an orchid.Hmmm…..

This is a soft, fresh, and lovely version of the original Alien- lemon blossom stands out the most-
If you feel both attracted and repelled by the original Alien because it’s just a little “too-too”, give this one a try- it’s Alien’s subtle younger sister-
    A new favorite flanker!

It is not that fresh as I expected. I sense it as woody and even a little bit masculine. The fresh orange blossom and citrus notes are sharp and without any sweetness. I like the interesting woody scent in it, but I wouldn’t want to wear it daily.
It’s an interesting one to try out, but I’m not super amazed by it.

I blind bought this because I found it for super cheap and wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I do!! Orange blossom is one of my favorite scents and to combine that with the wonderful Alien DNA….god, I want to smell like this forever. Amazing. Warm and light all at the same time.. I’m going to wear this every day when the weather warms up!!

I have both Alien Aqua Chic versions, i wanted an everyday Alien good for office area and that’s what i get. I wear it and no one complanes. It’s long lasting but i reapply because i like the way it smells in the beginning. Be carefull it’s lighter but it’s not light so 2-3 sprays max i think. I am Mugler addict lately so i like both but deffenetly try if you don’t like the EDT because they both remind me of it just different from it.
    Maybe 7/10

I purchased this Alien scent last Summer, it was such a good bargain. Probably the sale pushed me a bit to try and buy it as I am not a big Alien fan, however I love Angel from TM. So I gave it a try, and I liked its clean freshness with slight edgy undertone. It reminds me of a really elegant business lady wearing this on a Summer day, whom first seems classy and elegant but if you look closer you see her inner edgy self. I love wearing it during really hot summer days as I always have this classy but yet rocky-sarcastic feeling.

I have this available for a UK only swap if anyone is interested.

I blind bought Alien Aqua Chic 2013 instead of Alien Eau Extraordiare because the latter didn’t last on my skin. I like Aqua Chic 2013, but I loved Eau Extraordinare. Still, I don’t regret this blind purchase because AC 2013 lasts and projects like crazy and I AM a citrus blossom lover!
Aqua Chic 2013 is a definite cousin of the original Alien – the colors of the bottles suit the scents inside. AC 2013 is a bright, “soapy” version of the original, with orange and lemon blossoms adding a heady sunniness and grapefruit adding sparkle to the composition. Grapefruit really makes this work for me! There is a general warmth in AC 2013, presumably from “amber” and woods, but it feels beachy instead of cozy. It feels incredibly modern despite “old-timey” orange flower water notes and an 80’s style potency. This fragrance was made for an evening at SkyBar in LA with its mood lighting and contemporary vibe – that ambiance would enhance the shimmer and excitement in Alien Aqua Chic 2013.
I adore this fragrance in evenings and nights in the Summer. I feel very aware of my sex appeal when I wear it – I wouldn’t have gotten that from Eau Extraordiare!

Finally I have found my perfect Alien. I’ve always liked the idea of the original alien and even got close to investing in it a couple of times, but somehow never took the plunge. Something about it is just SO bitter, in a menthol kind of way. This baby here however, is perfection. The lemon blossom makes the biggest difference. It is still distinctively Alien, don’t get me wrong. The bitterness is still there but it’s somewhat toned down. This to me is a beautiful and perfectly likable alien this time around.

This one (2013) and especially “Alien Aqua” remind me of clothes you’d usually find at GoodWill that had this bleach smell. Alien Aqua smells worse than Aqua 2013 but none are good.
Just an odd smell. Worst “Alien” I’ve smelled out of regular Alien, “Alien Extraordinaire” and “Alien Essence Absolute”

A lighter and easy to wear version of the original, Alien Aqua Chic 2013 centers around citrus blossom and what I perceive as a very beautiful jasmine tea note. Despite not being mentioned in the composition, the tea is very obvious in the opening and heart where it sparkles beautifully with the citrus and the floral notes. The dry-down is somewhat less spectacular and by 3-4 hours into wearing Aqua Chic I normally feel the need to re-apply and enjoy the gorgeous opening development one more time. Lovely for every day summer.

This scent is so pretty. To me it smells like freshly washed laundry. It’s more afordable then the original Alien too. This is perfect for when you just don’t know what else to wear and want to smell fresh and clean.

Bought this today, and as much as I love Mugler fragrances, this slightly disappoints me. It smells exactly like Alien EDP to me, with Angel I could tell a difference in the scents, but Alien not so much.
    Still a nice scent though.

Love it. If you love Alien, you will love the summer flankers. They are all still Alien. One’s citrus, One’s ginger with menthol and one’s light floral. This does not last as long as my 2012 version.

    My mouth is watering!
This is citrus heaven (or hell if you don’t like oranges and lemons) Oh, so fresh, light, green and floral. Clean, crisp and zesty. I am glad I am testing Alien and all the sub-types together, because they are all so different. This one has a soapy drydown (the amber and wood mixing with the citrus oils). Not in a bad way, it is clean and not sweet like Alien or Alien Extraordinaire. I am liking all three very much.
Thierry Mugler has a nose and a half.

Just doesn’t work on me I’m afraid. This is just powdery in an overbearing way. I dont get any of the notes at all, even after sticking it out for more than 3 hours. It reminds me of the sneeze/nausea inducing effect I get from JPG Classique. Such a shame as after reading other reviews its obviously a well liked fragrance. Guess it just doesn’t suit me. Definately a dislike from me for this one.

Just to get this in the picture – “Alien” is one of my absolute favourite perfumes ever to be made. Ever. _Period_
That being said, here comes the review:
I made “Aqua Chic” a blind buy, because I was looking for something lighter, not perhaps as a substitute, more like a “stand-in” during hot summer days.
(This is coming from someone who wore Alien as a daytime fragrance in Cape Verde)
Well… “Aqua Chic” is basically one thing: “Alien” for beginners. And that is not necessarily a bad thing!
Whilst the regular “Alien” is like a big floral, amber and sandal punch in the face, “Aqua Chic” is more of a sweet orangeblossom and citrus caress to the cheek.
I can sense the similarities, and to be frank, I got what I was looking for. A more summery version of “Alien”. All though… I am looking forward to wear the “real thing”.

I bought Alien Aqua Chic 2013 purely because of the prominent orange blossom note from TJ Maxx. At first it really does smell just like the original Alien “lite” – kind of warm and “purple” for lack of a better description. I was disappointed, but decided to wait it out. I am glad I did! After about 30 minutes the underlying warmth was still there, but it combined with a lovely cleanness, my beloved orange blossom, with some sparking freshness from the grapefruit. It’s interesting to me that the pyramid seems to be turned upside down a little, at least on my skin, which makes it all the more intriguing. It really is special enough to be a fragrance all its own, in my opinion. There’s something mysterious about it without being overpowering like the original can be, making this a wonderful perfume, not just for summer, but I believe suitable year round. It’s much better than the 2012 version to me, and I am elated that I own it. Great buy!

I just blind bought this from TJMaxx for $39.99 2oz size. I was never really a fan of regular Alien or any of the TM fragrances, they always have been way too strong for me, but decided to take a chance based on reviews, and notes listed and since there was only one bottle there! Very glad I did. I may be a TM convert! I’m thinking I may have scored a great deal on this!
I love the bottle, that is one thing I have always been drawn to with the TM frags, that’s why it was a bummer when I never could get the scents to work for me. But now I have this one for my collection! To me the scent is nice and light, dries down to soft clean almost powdery scent which I love, and it seems to last forever on my skin.
Update: ok tried this one couple times now, thought I could do it, and just can’t. I put on yesterday after my shower, and then went to a dentist appt. I kept getting whiffs of this, and starting feeling a little self conscious about the way I smelled. The first spritz is strong and kind of unusual smelling but dries down much much later to something nice. I decided I have to like perfume from first spritz all the way through. I packaged it back up hoping I can return it to Marshall’s. It’s funny how you try a scent on your hand and think you love it, then try is fully with several spritzes all over your body and it’s a whole other story!

I would consider this Alien for beginners. Alien is one of those scents that is either loved or hated. That is one of the things that make it so special! If you have been curious about trying Alien and want to start off on the lighter side then this alien is for you!

I have this one (2013) and the 2012 version which I like much better. This one (2013) has the distinctly citrus notes whereas the 2012 has the ginger. Not like in ginger bread but like the oriental take out kind. Read the boxes that they come in and check the date to be sure you’re choosing the correct one. they both have a lighter Alien original scent and are so great for summer.

I just got this today and I love it already. I couldn’t find a tester to save my life and I finally broke down and bought it blind. I’m so glad I did. It smells like a lighter version of Alien, which is exactly what I was looking for. For me, it opened with a strong lemon, but very quickly mellowed into a soapy alternating with the orange blossom. While I didn’t love the soapy, it finally settled into the woody base, with the top notes occasionally coming through. I will definitely be wearing this for the rest of the summer and beyond.

Well, for me this is dirty (I don’t know what bothers me, but it literally smells dusty) Alien from the start for maybe for an hour, then it becomes pure Alien. All Aliens are the same for me, only the beginnings are different.
HOWEVER EDT, Aqua Chic and Aqua Chic 2013 are lighter and more wearable versions of the original. I prefer Aqua Chic, but this is almost as nice.

  26. :

I was a bit skeptical prior to testing Alien Aqua Chic 2013 as one of the key element of Alien, the jasmine, is replaced by orange blossom and lemon blossom. Well, the initial blast does have an aura of Alien. However, once dried down, I find it quite remote to Alien universe. It’s a refreshing and clean citrus-floral scent. While it continues to evolve, the woodsy notes become more prominent but the amber doesn’t seem to be willing to show itself on me. The longevity is around 5 or 6 hours and the sillage is soft. To me it’s a lovely fragrance for spring and summer, but just not very ‘Alien’ IMHO.

Ok I came to the conclusion that it ends up smelling quite a it like the summer version and the Edt of Armani code. One of my favorite scents. But Armani is better though. This is more soapy but very similar. Again Armani always reminded me of good quality suntan lotion and my mom too. I knew this scent was familiar. Now I connected it. ! Anyways I fresher up with alien essence now. As it started to rain and I needed some so cozy warm vanilla scent. Yum!!! Love that fragrance.

  28. :

A very enjoyable light, floral/citrus with a slight tobacco edge which is probably the woody base. The sillage and longevity are fairly close but I will be reaching for this when the days are warm and I want to smell fresh but sexy at the same time.

Love the citrusy opening, but the drydown is sour and unpleasant on me. Thierry Mugler is batting zero with me since Alien is also a no-go, and I’d rather kiss a monkey than wear Angel. Oh well. Saves my money for offerings that work better with my chemistry

I received my generous-sized spray sample from Thierry Mugler two days ago, and I am pleasantly surprised! Whenever I see the word “aqua” in a scent’s name, I worry because aquatic scents often disappear on my skin. This is NOT an aquatic, however, so why the confusing name?
The combination of citrus with the Alien base is indeed better than the original Alien. This is the second time I have preferred a flanker over the original for my personal use (the other one is English Leather Black).
INCREDIBLY long-lasting, I would say close to 18 hours, with a sillage that is, on me, heavy but NOT overpoweringly so.
I would describe the scent as spicy/sweet but fresh.
I think the bottle is cute, it is like an giant mutant mosquito.

Come to me, my soft forbidden light…
The smell is soft, lukewarm and lovely, just lovely
How did Thierry Mugler do it? I’m in love with…a
flower, no jasmine or patchouli. Just mist and
flowers…take me away towards the light

  32. :

    5 out of 5

Alien but lighter, more appropriate for warmer weather. Half way through a slight soapyness kicks in, but not overwhelming. I like it 🙂

  33. :

    3 out of 5

This smells awful. I quite like Alien but this smells sour and clinical to me. It’s also very loud and not very nice for asthmatics (like me!)

  34. :

    5 out of 5

To my nose this is very close to the 2012 Aqua Chic. The topnotes are a lot sweeter and not at all like the spicy ginger of 2012. The sweet orange and lemonblossom give this fragrance a very juicy feel. Not at all like the bone dry 2012 version.
The base though is much the same. That base is quite different from the original Alien base. It’s dry and woody, but colder and lighter. In the 2013 the sweetness of the topnotes lingers in the base and gives it an almost human scent. Like warm skin, shone upon by the sun.
I quite enjoy this fragrance, and I do think it a little more agreable than last years version (which is more special and weird), but since I allready own that one, I’ll let this one pass.

  35. :

    4 out of 5

I like Aqua Chic but this version isn’t better, it is very similar to Alien EDT, so not sure what it is supposed to be really!? It gets sharp also in the dry down, so really a waste of a flanker.

  36. :

    3 out of 5

This is definitely much better than the original Alien, to me. I’m a huge fan of Angel and Womanity, but I simply cannot hop onto the Alien train.
It’s too simple and sweet to me. It has no character or attitude…it’s just there, and it’s linear..
But this Aqua Chic edition definitely brings new life to the Alien! Citrus is exactly what Alien needs. But I’m overjoyed that they chose the right fruit for the job: GRAPEFRUIT. Not orange. Not lemon. And not that godforsaken bergamot that nearly every perfume these days has.
This smells exactly like the original Alien to me, just with a tangy grapefruit citrus twist that brings it alive. The amber and wood notes are very prominent, like in the original. But instead of jasmine, here we have orange blossom…which definitely switches things up in a great way. Jasmine has a tendency to be boring and mopey, linear, and dead. The orange blossom makes it fresher and daintier.
All in all, this Aqua Chic edition finally brings life to Alien, which it so desperately needs.
This is nice, pretty, springy, and delicious. I’m so glad the sales associate put two samples of this in my bag, along with my nice yummy bottle of Angel Aqua Chic 2013 😉 Get that one too! It’s even better than this one!

Nice start, however after a while it smelled like a copy of Armani Code for Women, which I already have, so I am not going to buy this… A bit disappointed.
