Maratons is a woody chypre, fresh and green at the beginning, warm and slightly animalic at the end, ODC scent for men. It is suitable for spring and summer day time.
The notes according to the Dzintars are:
Top notes: mint, lemon, green tomato
Heart notes: vetiver, patchouli, lavender
Final notes: civet, santal, oakmoss
It opens with vivid mint and tomato leaf followed by the lavender with earthy and strong patchouli and the vetiver. It has also a pinch of smoke and very discreet-weak sweetness at the background, almost invisible. The lemon is just a flash in the blend at the beggining. The sandalwood is mild and the oakmoss note is very intensive. The civet isn’t really strong. It gives the depth and some seriousness to the blend but that’s all. Not the strong type of old fragrances.
The longevity and the projection are moderate with 6-8 sprays. It is a wonderful scent, I wish it had better performance.
